This is a voltage converter, not a transformer. It works by chopping the 311V peak/220V RMS input to approximately 110V RMS. It's fine for resistive element cooking appliances.

The "Product Description" is for a completely different item. This item does not have a transformer, does not have a power cord, weighs one pound not 26 pounds, and is much smaller than what is listed in the description. It should not be used with anything electronic such as computers or televisions.

Went from US to Europe, bought this mainly for hair dryer (1600 watts) and straightner (1200 watts)...

My straightner burned my hair bcs it overheated to a point i couldn t touch it and melted the outside of it (it was a good and exoensive straightner i had for 2 years, with no problems...)

My hair dryer blew up after used with converter for 15 min... A great quality hair dryer...

Not enough loosing my equipment, as i pulled it out of the wall the european plug fell of, making it impossible to re use it...

Not worth the money, bad quality and it costed me 5 times it s price for my losses.

I d return it it it was whole, and not in the trash somewhere in Europe.

Basically gave it a star because i could not submit the review without a star...

I bought this to supplement my Kitchen Aid Classic Mixer I bought, for use in Australia.

I researched the types of transformers available, and this one seems adequate for what I wanted, lightweight, compact and has a good power rating of 2000w, which is suitable for my mixer.

It works great! I am now able to use my Kitchen Aid Mixer.

The voltage output should by checked to confirm correct operation. I did not check, I ended up with a burnt out circuit board on my appliance. I checked after and found 240 volt input and 240 volts output. It did not step down the voltage. Be careful. Amazon was so good about the situation and helped out alot, thanks Amazon.
