i've been using the d31 blue top for a long time now and noticed the price on the yellow top dropped. Optima says the blue is for deep cycle trolling motor use while yellow is for deep cycle and starting use however I have it on good authority from optima that the d31m marine battery is the same inside both the blue and yellow tops, so if the yellow is cheaper today, I'll buy it instead!

Got this and installed it on my 2002 Range Rover and I spent over 2 1/2 searching auto stores for a battery post shim!

The positive post is the correct size but when I tried to install to the negative post the battery cable terminal end couldn't be attached securely.

Turns out the negative post is 15MM wide and my battery terminal fitting is 17MM wide.

I don't mind paying $200+ for a battery, but at least Optima could include the shims so I didn't have to spend 1/2 the day running all over town to find them!

I got 8 years on my old 950CC amp 31DA Interstate battery and I hope the Optima can at least get me that many years of service as I paid them an $85.00 premium over the Interstate.
