I ordered this for my son who is away at college. After using it successfully for several weeks, he plugged it in to charge his phone one evening and at some point touched the cord to move it and it immediately flashed and snapped and when he looked at the part that plugs into the wall there was a hole in it. Luckily he had it plugged into an outlet which was controlled by a switch on the wall so he turned the switch off and was able to cut power to the charger and unplugged it from the outlet. A bit scary but...no harm done, I guess. It had charged the phone just prior to this happening and there was no damage to the phone itself...just the "plug in" charger. The car charger still works. Just be careful...
