Magnum Energy MS4024PAE 24V Pure Sine Wave Inverter 240VAC

Magnum Energy MS4024PAE 24V Pure Sine Wave Inverter 240VACI purchased this unit to mount to a MidNite Solar E-Panel. I fronted the AC Input with an ESCO 30A Auto transfer switch and can say this unit (paired with the RC-50 control/display) is a super setup. The Magnum inverter is responsive, accurate, efficient and I could go on and on. Yes, it's $$$$ but, you get what you pay for. A very nice 'core' to any setup.

I don't give 5 stars often, but this heavy guy deserves it as it's made top quality, functioned flawlessly out of the box and the warranty is great AND AMERICAN MADE!!!!!!!!! Spend a few more $$$ and support american companies!

Thumbs up from my end.

PJ

This is the inverter I have been dreaming about. It is performing way better than I expected based on my experience with other inverters. I have solar panels and a big battery bank all configured for 24 V. Even though I live in the city, I have my home mostly off grid, and feed the inverter into my service panel and run everything in my house. My previous inverter would not run my microwave MagnaSine does. The previous inverter could not start my gas clothes dryer motor when loaded with wet clothes MagnaSine does with no sweat. Same story with my furnace motor, whole house vacuum motor and big table saw. I love this inverter. It is a beast in a beautiful package, and if you are strong enough to lift it and mount it, you will be very happy you own one. I have recommended this inverter to all my friends. (Also, shipping was free).

I am a little surprised that this works but it does! My 1990 Jeep Cherokee sits 98% of the time in my driveway but so long as I use this charger it starts right up. It attaches with clamps directly to the battery or plugs into your cigarette lighter. It does not seem like 1.5 volts would be enough but it is...at least it works for me.

Home Wall Travel Plug-in Charger+Rapid Car Kit Auto Vehicle Plug-in Power Charger New AC DC Adapter

Home Wall Travel Plug-in Charger+Rapid Car Kit Auto Vehicle Plug-in Power Charger New AC DC Adapter Converter for Nokia E5 - NisaTechWorldI ordered this for my son who is away at college. After using it successfully for several weeks, he plugged it in to charge his phone one evening and at some point touched the cord to move it and it immediately flashed and snapped and when he looked at the part that plugs into the wall there was a hole in it. Luckily he had it plugged into an outlet which was controlled by a switch on the wall so he turned the switch off and was able to cut power to the charger and unplugged it from the outlet. A bit scary but...no harm done, I guess. It had charged the phone just prior to this happening and there was no damage to the phone itself...just the "plug in" charger. The car charger still works. Just be careful...

BlueAnt CMT-USEN Commute Voice Control Speakerphone with True Speech to Text - Bluetooth Car Kit - R

BlueAnt CMT-USEN Commute Voice Control Speakerphone with True Speech to Text - Bluetooth Car Kit - Retail Packaging - BlackI'll break this up into different sections to try to give you the best detailed review possible.

DESIGN:

The Commute's design is solid. I have to admit it's a little bigger than I anticipated, but it puts out the sound to justify it. The volume buttons are, in fact, not buttons at all. Just slide your finger from left to right to turn it up, and right to left to turn it down. I kind of like that and kind of don't. I think I would have preferred buttons (it's easier to feel buttons without looking than figuring out if you're about to slide your finger at the right place) but I've figured out how to do it just fine. There's a place in the middle of the top of the Commute that launches the voice control, hangs up phone calls, among other things. Again, I would have preferred an actual button to know exactly where I'm pressing, but you get used to it.

The usb cord to charge it is rather short and the manual says it takes 3-4 hours to charge. Doesn't seem like I'll be charging it in the car. We just bring it in the house with us and charge it overnight

SOUND:

It really really sounds good. When using it in the car, the sound is amazing. Every word the caller says is crisp and clear. When talking with someone using it for instance when I'm at work calling my wife in the car it barely sounds like she's using a speakerphone. There is absolutely no background noise except when she's talking...then I just hear what sounds a little like wind, but it's really not much at all and doesn't bother me one bit.

I haven't tried to use it with the gps from my phone so I'm not sure how the voice navigation is. Nor have I listened to music with it. The one thing I will say is to make sure that your phone is not on vibrate...otherwise it does not alert you when you get a text.

EASE OF USE:

The Commute's integration with Siri is practically flawless...just say "Launch voice control" and Siri talks to you over the Commute. The only problem that I've had is that it sometimes says that handsfree is connected but it won't be ready to "listen" for my voice controls. Instead, I have to push the button in the middle. After I've done that once, handsfree mode works perfect from that point on.

Hanging up from a call is sometimes difficult. I'm sure once I get more time with it, I'll figure out all of the tricks, but I've just struggled with it so far.

SETUP:

Nothing could be easier...period! Connects with phone and loads contacts flawlessly.

CONCLUSION:

The only reasons I took 1 star off is because it's not always ready for handsfree use even though it says it is and the fact that I would have preferred regular buttons (again, that may just be my preference though). Other than that, this thing is a must for any man to buy for his wife to have in their car. My wife is really happy with it and the fact that she can text me back while driving gives me peace of mind that she is safer. Well done Blueant!

I have now owned four blue tooth speak systems for my Passat. All have eventually ceased to properly function after eight months, so I keep replacing them with different brands or models. I purchased the BlueAnt Commute because everyone complained about the lack of call quality with my Jabra Highway. Here are my observations with the Commute:

The sound output is good but the spoken "trigger" activation is sometimes set off by the car audio.

Although it took several minutes to upload my contacts Commute cannot make a call using them and must defer to Siri in my

iPhone. I can speak "phone commands" to activate Siri easily enough but other brands I have owned were more seamless.

Battery life is adequatecomparable to other models.

People receiving calls complain about the sound quality.

But the biggest complaint is the power on/off switchit seldom activates on the first try, and I have to cycle off and on again for the unit to power up.

Good unit, not a perfect unitthe Jabra units when new have been the best but they have proven to be very unreliable. So I am still looking for the right balance of quality, functions, and reliability...

I ordered this based on reviews I read on Amazon. If my review was based solely on the call quality this product would've received the full 5 stars from me. The deduction in stars came from the fact the product does nothing it advertises to do. Pairing easily is about the only thing it claimed that was true. I have a Samsung SG3 and I used and tinkered around for about a week and I could never get this to read any of my texts which is one of the main reasons I purchased this unit over one of its competitors. With the exception of answering and making calls nothing else was hands free.

The other issue was the volume. I drive a Jeep Wrangler, so needless to say there is a lot of background noise. The noise never disturbed a call, in fact people I talked to said they never noticed the background noise. Some even went as far as to say they didn't realize I was on a speaker phone. As far as my end went, the volume on the incoming calls was fine, even on the freeway, and the calls were clearer than clear. The volume issues came when I was trying to stream from phone. I tried to listen to my Pandora and music I had stored on my phone with the same results, I struggled to hear anything. So as much as I like the call quality, after a week worth of use I had to return it to Amazon

I have had the Blue Ant Commute for about 10 days.

It is amazing in all respects. Best part is how well the sound quality works in both directions. And the speech recognition works.

I highly recommend the Commute!

I use the Blueant Commute with my Galaxy S3 and decided to make a video to cover call quality as that is always my biggest concern with these items. Many of the faults with this item lie with the android voice dialer or S-Voice bluetooth interaction itself. The unfortunate need to hit the command button a few too many times is what knocks this off to 4 stars.

I neglected to show off how it plays music, but I will say for one speaker it does a serviceable job. It comes across as clear and loud as the Biueant voice in the video review.

  • Super Micro size of only 1.9 x 3.2 x 0.9 inches (excluding top knob & antenna)

I am new to HAM but wanted to see what this little guy could do, and not spend a ton of money.

With all hand held radios the problem is the small antenna. I can get ok reception but I live out in the sticks. I hooked up a roll up Jpole and wow. I cant wait to hook it up to a bigger antenna. You can have 100's memory set ups, several ways to scan. Like I said I am new and was a bit worried about all the different settings etc the book tells you step by step. I dont know how to do everything that this guy can do but you will pick up the regular settings easy enough. So far I have picked everything from police bands, EMS, Wendy's drive up, voice of america, voice of cuba, voices of I cant speak it, HAM chat, about 6 weather chans, regular AM/FM. I got all this from the regular antenna and the roll up J pole. This was in just a few days of messing around.

It is easy to travel with this. Throw it in the car, back pack, just a pocket. You can also order an AA battery pack so its easy to power it up if away from a charger.

Only thing not great are the small buttons, thats not a biggie since this thing is just bigger than a pager.

Don't get me wrong. This is an awesome Ham Radio Transmitter for the size and price. Any radio that can open a repeater 30 miles away on only half a watt has got to be something special.

The problem I have with this radio is it's reception outside of the Amatuer Bands. To put it bluntly, it sucks. It is EXTREMELY susceptible to static, reception range is extremely weak, and you can barely understand the voice carrier wave for all the static.

As A Ham Transmitter, I give it Five Stars. as a reciver, I give it a Raspberry.

UPDATE: SEPT.18th, 2011: Apparently, my apartment has a lot of RFI. I took the rig outdoors, and it opened right up. Reception on the Aircraft Band is absolutely Fantastic! I snagged at least 30 diffrent ATC Frequencies in Scan Mode, some as far away as Las Vegas and Pheonix! Based on this, I'm changing my Reciver Rating to Five Stars. Outdoors, this is one awesome little Reciver. Just do not expect the same results indoors.

I owned this radio for only a couple of weeks. It has a wide band amplifier that is very susceptible to nearby transmitters. The police were coming in stronger than the frequency I was tuned to. It was a common problem whenever I was within a few miles of a tv or fm transmitter. If you're out in the boonies you may not have this problem, but near a city you may find your signal to noise ratio to be less than 1 a lot of the time. Not for me. I replaced it with an FT60, which works fine.

I am a new ham and wanted a small affordable H/T eto begin with. The AM / FM broadcast bands come in clear as well as the local WX bands. I just passed my Tech test and am eagerly awaiting my call sign so that I can test the TX and RX features. Will updat when I have a chance to do this. 4 stars so far for what I can use.

I have already a vx7r and a vx6 ( both of which are more powerful units). This is a very small ht with pretty good rx and tx the rx is a few bars off of my other vx hts, but considrering the small size and the price point I'm happy with the unit. AD7TX out.

I bought this pair to replace my old pair of Cobra MicroTalk PR260 WXC radios (which by the way were cheapest on the market, but served great for the price of ~30$). So I had an experience and a chance to compare. Overall I can say that this Uniden 5089 radios behave far much better, but do not forget that they cost triple of the PR260s price. Uniden 5089s shewed not bad range for consumer products for about few miles in the city (this is not bad) with few hills in between and some buildings (stone, 5-7 floors) and traffic of course. When I reached the limit where Cobras lost the signal Unidens were still perfect to understand everything said by other party. Want to mention that this radios have BOOST function that increases transmitting power thus extending the range or making voice more clear, without any interference or noise in cases when standard (black) button begins transmitting with some noise due to distance or terrain. The only drawback was that pair of headsets that comes with this radios are for VOX operation and do not have button on them, you must use VOX to use them or press transmit button on the radio itself when used without VOX. This all I can say so far. I'll update my review with time when tested in other conditions.

EDITED 10.2012

Want to note that radios are performing well in the city, I have normal signal in the small center for about 0.5 km to 1 km in the city! My old cobras showed a result of 100 m in the same city conditions in comparison. But there is something I did not like the headset. Headsets are not bad actually, buy the cushions on them are too thin so the hurt your ear if worn for a long time because there are plastic edges which push to your ear and thin cushion on them is not enough. One thing more, there is no PTT button on the headphone so you can push it to talk, thus you are forced to push the talk button on the radio itself or use VOX (which is really unusable on any device I ever had, be it a radio or a cell phone).

Want Uniden GMR 5089-2CKHS Submersible GMR/FRS Two-Way Radio with Charging Kit Discount?

I have to say they look to be of high quality radio sets, however, at my first time using them, one unit broke down and it keeps showing low battery sign if I push the PTT button. The battery level was not low actually, the PTT on the broken unit still did not work after I used a battery that worked normal on the other unit. I am still able to use the VOX set talking to other units but not using PTT. It is really disappointing since they are really high priced.I did not return it because I am not in the U.S. and cannot request for refund or return.

Per our testing, this product doesn't have sufficient range neither indoors nor out. We purchased it for 2 reasons: for indoor use (as we live in a crowded Asian capital filled with shopping malls, and wanted an alterior mode of communication to cell phones) and for emergency use during monsoons and flooding. So far, these do not work in malls, where there is a lot of interference but no signal reach. Hopefully, they'll work adequately in an emergency!

Ingersoll Rand W7150-K1 20V Cordless 1/2" Impactool, Charger, 1 Li-ion Battery/Case

Ingersoll Rand W7150-K1 20V Cordless 1/2' Impactool, Charger, 1 Li-ion Battery/Case
  • 20 Volt Cordless delivers incredible torque and high-speed performance
  • POWER 780 ft-lb reverse torque and 1100 ft-lb nut-busting torque from a tool weighing just 6.8 lb
  • High-power lithium-ion battery

This impact wrench is just plain awesome. It has great power and the battery life seems to be pretty good also. Should be able to do at least a few tire rotations, brake jobs etc. no problem. My only gripe is where they put the direction switch. If it was a 1/2" higher or a 1/2" farther back it would be better, but that's my only complaint.

This tool is serious business!!!

I do like power tools not only as a tool but also as modern art man toys. Ok, I agree, I'm a little bit crazy but this is true :)

This tool has enough torque to do everything I reckon a DIY or even a pro (which I'm afraid I'm not) can do with a car... wow I'm amazed.

Look how easy it is even when I'm right handed and in this video of me trying the tool for the very first time, I'm using my left hand. It is fantastic!!!

I was very nervous about buying an impact wrench because first of all, I know absolute nothing about impact wrenches of any kind and second, I needed the tool was able to work my cars toughest nuts like the ones in the suspension and tires.

The thing is though, While I loooooove DIY and loooove fixing (sometimes what I get is the opposite :) ) my cars, I have wrecked 4 of my intervertebral discs. First because I got too fat, second because I've been careless and finally because I'm not getting any younger so now I need real support from my tools for me to be able to keep my hobbies in sync with my health. I has to say, this may be my very first really pro battery power tool but hope is not going to be the last!!! I mean, this thing is FANTASTIC!!!

While I live in a tropical country with a very mild climate and no rust anywhere either in my 8 years Ford Explorer truck (the one in the video) or my car which is 10 years older (but good looking as the owner LoL ) this tool can handle absolutely every thing it can reach, amazingly easy... If you're in the market looking for something like this, go ahead and buy one... you won't regret.

Is this tool better than the Snap-on? I don't have a single clue but this thing sure is cheaper, strong, powerful, solid, etc... you get the point right? :)

Thank you very much for watching and for reading!!!

See you next review :)

I was looking for a used snap-on 1/2 inch impact but found I could buy this new for the same price. After reading other positive reviews and awards along with the fact that Ingersoll makes quality products I bought one. The feather trigger is great and the overall quality of the product seems solid. I put it to the test on some rusted out bolts on an old 1960 Ford truck bumper and it broke them loose with ease. I removed some bolts off a flywheel with no issues either. It's great not having to pull out my compressor especially if I'm working late in the garage. This is hands down one of the best tools I've purchased.

I have tried to remove the crankshaft bolt on my 2004 Honda TL, which turned out a nightmare. I used a 3ft long Snap-on breaker bar to no avail (the Powerbuilt crank pulley holder tool should not be used on 2004 TL or the 55mm hex would be marred). I then used DeWalt 300ft-lbs impact gun; nothing.

After a lengthy research, I decided to give it a try on this, as this has the max-rated power for battery-powered impact gun. The overall quality seems durable, but for this kind of price I expect it to be made in the USA but as you could guess this is made in China. One minus star.

Li-ion batteries have become a major rechargeable battery (not sure if they have memory effect as in Ni-cd batteries) but in some instances they need precise care (the ones on SONY's notebook caught on fire, and those on B787s have ruptured; that was more of the charging system's trouble, however).

I will add more precise comments after testing it.

Motorola TalkAbout FV200AA 5-Mile 22-Channel Two-Way Radio (Pair)

Motorola TalkAbout FV200AA 5-Mile 22-Channel Two-Way Radio

  • Call-tones notify users before you start talking
  • Compact, water-resistant radios are prefect for active outdoor use
  • Audible low-battery alert
  • Measures 2.2 x 4.7 x 1.2 inches (W x D x H)

We purchased these radios for use by our children when they go out of the house. They are very easy to operate, have great reception and were inexpensive. They have allowed our children to have more freedom because they can go to the park, but we can still be in touch with them and they can reach us if there is a problem. I would recommend these to anyone.

Buy Motorola TalkAbout FV200AA 5-Mile 22-Channel Two-Way Radio (Pair) Now

These radios are very similar to the FV200R ones. In fact, on the surface it looks like the only difference is the fact that the FV200R are rechargeable. This is not true though; the FV200R have privacy codes. What this means is that you will only hear broadcasts by the other radio, and not all radios that are using that channel which can be a lot at a ski resort. This feature will also extend battery life since the speaker won't be active that often.

Another consideration is the transmit power, which is rated at 500mW for these radios. Typically, the range is doubled for a 4-times increase in transmit power. Some two-ways on the market use 1000mW of transmit power. This will increase your range by 50%, but will consume more battery power.

You need to weigh range, battery life and privacy codes when making your decision. Motorola is a very good brand and these are very good radios as long as you accept their shortcomings.

I read the reviews on these before purchasing a more expensive model walkie talkie for my 10 year old. For $20, the size and range works well for us. They work great inside our small gated neighborhood. Love that they clip to belt or jeans so they aren't lost...I can finally not worry about where my son is. Recommended if you are looking for a cheaper walkie talkie for communicating with your kids.

How can you go wrong with a price so low. They're good for both parents and kids to use. Not to mention they're easy for young kids to operate! Keep in touch.

I find this product's reception not too bad, definately not for pro but good enough for short distance, bought it for my kid to play and find it easy to operate and quite useful in certain places. However, the battery life is very short, or maybe I don't know how to operate it. Is there a temporary off button? or power saving feature? Or do I have to take out the battery everytime I don't use it? When I left it on without using it, it last barely for 2 days. I would expect the standby time to be longer.
