RAYO4PK AAA RCH Battery

These are the best AA & AAA batteries I've ever bought. The mfg's claims that they hold on to a charge longer are basically true... far longer. The other "higher capacity" batteries I've used haven't given me as much usage between charges as these Hybrid types, so I am very satisfied.

What would have made them perfect is if I could have bought a smart charger (the kind that can charge in 4 hrs and handle single cells, not just pairs) bundled with them.

These are the new breed of Nickel Metal Hydride batteries. Now you can use them for your TV remotes, clocks and other devices where you need longer shelf lives. One of the reasons why NiMh batteries have become so popular was the proliferation of digital cameras. But for the casual shooters who sometimes leave there batteries in their cameras for weeks and pick it up for another special occasion, they often found it as a surprise that their batteries are depleted. Not with these new type of batteries.

Pros:

-Low discharge. Ordinary NiMh batteries discharges even just sitting on the shelf.

Works with your existing NiMh battery chargers.

-Conventional size and dimension. I had other batteries that I have to use a screwdriver to remove from my camera because it is fatter.

-Cheapest price as compared to comparables (Eneloops, Duracell)

Cons:

More expensive than ordinary NiMh

First time I've owned rechargeable batteries at home without having to chuck after 1 year; probably because one charge lasts 4 months in my wireless keyboards, mice and WII controllers with heavy use. Hybrid technology allows for a longer shelf life which seems to help; I keep a backup set of 8 for when the other set of 8 drains and no problems using set of batteries I charged 4 months ago. Wish they were v1.5 instead of v1.2 but has really made no difference for me...also no problems with low end digital camera use...I believe in lithium for higher end digital cameras. Can't go wrong with these. Some people tend to recharge without draining or discharging first but I haven't tried this abuse to see results. Also used in Rayovac recharger which has gotten terrible reviews; despite that I didn't have any problems with Rayovac charger I purchased the highly recommended Sanyo eneloop recharger at my office to recharge these same batteries and test out.

I have bought both Eneloop and Rayovac Hybrids and so far, I like them both. Rayovac Hybrids hold their charge after I charge them so that I can store them away in a drawer; and when I can take them out, they are ready to go. They also last longer than standard rechargeables in my electronic equipment. With the Hybrids, I am not forever recharging.

Eneloop or Rayovac Hybrid? I haven't seen a difference. I just pick the less expensive one.

Great batteries. With a toddler in the house, I've bought a lot of these. My charger/tester claims 1,950-2,050 mAh on each one and they don't seem to lose charge quickly on the shelf. They arrived already at about 80% charge. Out of over 20 purchased, I have only one bad cel (haven't applied for warranty hardly worth the trouble.)
