My friend has an older model of this transmitter that works flawlessly. His doesn't charge the iPod anymore but there is NO interference. I don't know if I got one that was a little faulty but there is ALWAYS static, regardless of the stations I've tried using, and I can forget about my iPod if the weather is bad; the interference gets so bad it switches from barely discernible, staticky music to completely different stations. It often picks up on other driver's radio, especially in trucks. The one thing I do love is that, when I'm getting tolerable clarity, I don't have to take my iPod case off to connect it to any kind of dock like some other kinds of transmitters. Next car I get will most definitely have an axillary connection.

It connects to both ipod and iphone. But the audio quality is bad and there is an background hissing noise. Used it only once.
