The reason for purchasing this item is obvious. The built in protective caps for the ends are a nice touch. It would be great if they would include an attached chord keeper or cable tie, as I don't need the entire 25' length most of the time. I can see no difference in effectiveness of the charger whether this extension is inserted between the charger and the leads to the battery, or not.

I use this extension to allow me to mount the Battery Maintainer on a shelf in my garage that is near a power outlet. The extension allows me to drape it in the rafters of the garage and then the connections from the battery can come down from above. Before buying this extension I had to set the battery maintainer on the radiator of my truck with its hood up and run an extension cord over for the battery maintainer to plug into. With this extension cord I can unplug the battery maintainer, disconnect the battary maintainer connections from my truck battery and drape them over to the side, shut the hood and drive away. Before it was a hastle to disconnect the battery maintainer and move it over to the side of the garage before being able to drive off. The extension is worth the money to me for that convienence.

I bought this charger online to replace my 40 year old charger that finally quit working. I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered a manual charger with minimal electronics -like my last oneso perhaps it too would also last 40 years.

The charger puts out the right voltage and the 12 volt leads are color coded correctly (as per my muli-meter), but the built in ammeter is either defective or wired in wrong. The bigger the load the more the needle pulls off to the left of "0" amps. This makes the charger totally useless for battery diagnoses. I am disappointed.

I took it upon myself (a day later) to take the charger apart and reverse the leads going to the ammeter. And now the ammeter works. I now give the charger a rating of 4 stars.

I tried this so I could use my iPhone's FM transmitter/holder and my GPS at the same time powered to the car's socket. I had tried two other products, and in each case, the iPhone and it's holder were too heavy to hold the item securely. But this adapter is incredibly sturdy and works beautifully. I don't know if it will survive in the long term, but since the male plug is not movable at all, it should last as long as it needs to. No problems with powering up the devices, connection is very solid. I work on the road, am in my car constantly, and so this is the perfect companion to make my ride comfortable. The adapter is very compact, so it fits perfectly, and I suspect it would fit most cars with no problem. I recommend this item highly to anyone who needs to simultaneously plug in 2 devices to their car's electrical socket.

What a great idea. But this particular design was not capable of staying in the charging socket. It kept backing out on its own. The company very promptly sent me a replacement, but the replacement did the same. I drive a Subaru Forester, and I think it's socket would be the same as other manufacturer's, but nonetheless, I could not keep it in the socket. Gave up and bought another type.

While this Twin Car 12V socket adapter works OK, there is NO fuse protection (I took it apart and there is NO fuse in it). Also, there is a warning label on the adapter that says "No Cigarette Lighting, Max of 2.5 amps for using both devices".

I've used this for a couple of weeks now so I could power my GPS at the same time I was listening to my satellite radio. For the most part, this works fine. The one problem that I've had a few times is that one of the 2 items plugged in may not be drawing power. Sometimes the connection seems loose, although I've never had a problem with the adapter coming loose from the socket itself. While it's not perfect, it gets the job done for me.

First off, ill disclose that i purchased the 1100 amp model (largest, but not on amazon), but one of my issues relates to the whole line. Everything seemed to work well, even sporting an 80% charge from the store (although the % meter only ever showed 100%), could not jump a sedan which still had 10v left on the battery.

Main issue with this product line is the substandard clamp jaws. Only 1/2 of the jaw is electrically connected, the other side is insulated by the plastic of the handle. You don't get enough of an electrical connection to give your starter enough juice. Reviews on Sears' website are around 60% product returns, ranging from not charging/holding charge, to not able to jump a lawn mower. These reviews also explained why at my local sears 4 out of 5 boxes on the shelf looked open/returned.

There ARE some good reviews, so i'm hesitant to say straight out 'don't buy this', but i would be wary and fully test your unit before relying on it.

Revision: After opening mount I completely missed where one side of the tablet holder pulls out (tension held) which allows for different sized tablets to be held firmly. Prior to that the included brackets of varying length were not suitable alone. The arm itself is very sturdy, maybe even a little too strong for simply holding a lightweight tablet. The arm is not easily adjustable, but would also not be easily moved by bumping into it. Glad I did notice ultimately that the bracket portion is tension held and does pull out. Otherwise I did not see this as a suitable mount.

This unit will run on a single AA battery up to 3 AA batteries, C, or D cells... When I first tried using it I received the "Illegal Charger" message from several phones. After doing some research the Dand D+ pins need to be shorted together (little blob of solder between the two inside pins on the module does the trick) this tells the USB device that it is a Dedicated Charger Port (dumb wall charger for charging USB devices). The lower the input voltage the higher the current draw i.e. a single AA battery will work very hard and get extremely hot. I ultimately wound up using 3 C cell batteries in a 4 C cell battery box and mounted the boost module in where the fourth battery would go. With three C cells it can charge up an HTC smartphone to about 35 to 40% charge (about one hour) if the phone is turned off. After the blue LED goes out the unit is in scavenge mode and can draw as much as 3 amps out of the batteries (this makes AA batteries get really hot and split open thus the use of C cells). I would recommend changing the batteries when the blue LED goes out and it is still under load if you remove the load (unplug your phone) the blue LED goes out normally. So far I can charge a first generation NOOK, Blackberry Bold, Motorola DROID RAZR M (the very limit of this device's ability), and an HTC EVO 4g LTE (also the very limit).

Bottom line I recommend at least 3 batteries in series so your as close to 5 volts as possible and the unit doesn't work as hard also larger size batteries like C or D cells especially if your charging smartphones which are power hogs. If your going to charge iPhones or iPods I would recommend looking up the Mintyboost by Lady Ada as you will have to put 2.0 volts on the Dand D+ pins for the iDevices to charge properly and she has an excellent write up on it.

I am enjoying my Rhino 520 very much. The radio is much better than the lower power models. The color screen is much easier to read than the black and white models I have used. Downloading Topo maps is time consuming but worth the effort. I am very disappointed the gps does not work with Apple computers. I spent a hour at the Apple store with an expert trying to get the gps to work with my IMac and was unsuccessful. Overall however I am very happy with my Rhino.

This unit does everything you need. It is very good on battery life. The only thing I don't like is the center button is too small and sensitive making it hard to push it down without moving the cursor of the intended target.

crappy offline maps cost $129 per region in addition to the cost of the unit? Insane. I'm going back to my cell phone.

That aside, great rugged design, decent options. My cell can do everything this unit can + 1000x more, but cannot be dropped in the water.. i think I'll take the chance with my cell phone, but a good unit if this was about 5 years ago.

Garmin needs to catch up with the times because this wont fly any longer. No maps on a mapping unit, you must pay extra. It may not be a surprise for normal Garmin users, but no maps with a mapping device is just beyond silly.

range is more like 4-5 miles which is twice as far as 120 model.

larger color screen & 14hour rechargable battery life make the Rino 520cx one of the best gps on the market . I got these ones for for other people.

What I like the most about this lamp kit is that everything is plug and play. I just connect the panel wire to the lamp wire and the thing starts charging right away. I had a little trouble getting it to charge my iPhone 3GS that was running iOS 5. But, I recently upgraded to an iPhone 5 with iOS 6 and it has no problem charging whatsoever. But, this isn't the only piece of equipment I had this problem with Apple products. Thank you Steve Jobs! If you're running iOS 6 or iOS 4, you'll be fine.

This is certainly a great product. Not only can it brighten up the room for you, you can also charge your cell phones with it. Iphone batteries are known to die pretty quick. I bought this kit from a different retailer at a higher price but it was worth it. We used it for camping the whole summer, dropping it a couple of times and it still works just fine. Decent inexpensive Apple iPhone/iPod charger. One flaw is that the "dock" connector is larger than the standard Apple connector, so it doesn't work with all protective cases (especially the thicker ones). I have to take the case off my phone to use this charger. That's worthy of a 3-star rating because they could easily have made it the standard Apple size without any new engineering.

So far the charger works just fine and for ten bucks it's hard to complain too much.

I had ordered a generic (cheap) "Apple Approved" car charger previously for my Iphone 4S and it didn't work out of the box. Apple logo lit up, but phone would not charge.

The car charger and usb cable work fine. The wall charger makes the zen act up while its charging, It's as if random commands are being sent through the charger to the zen. It was deleting songs and playlists. The replacement they sent did the same. I had to buy the very expensive wall charger made by Creative, which worked fine.
