I have used the charger numerous times and really liked it until the fan started making noises and then completely quit. I would not recommend.Read Best Reviews of Vector 2/10/25 Amp Charger with 75 Amp Engine Start, Model# VEC1095A Here
I recently purchased this charger to recondition a moderately sulfated car battery. It was one of the few chargers I've been able to find that claim to have equalization and desulfation as features.First, the equalization voltage does not appear to be high enough to equalize a lead-acid battery. In spite of leaving the charger running for several days now, the voltage has yet to reach the proper equalization voltage level. The result is that the electrolyte has not been equalized as it should have been.
Second, it does not appear that the "Reconditioning" feature does anything to reduce sulfation. Over the course of a day's time, the battery voltage continued to decline and there was no change at all in the specific gravity of the individual cells.
On the positive side, it does claim that it has an automatic shutoff feature, so perhaps I will keep it and use it for regular purposes. My old battery charger has no automatic shutoff and doesn't know how to float charge a battery, so it needed to be replaced anyway.
If you are not looking for an equalization charger, this is a good buy. But if you're one of those rare people with a hygrometer and a jug of distilled water looking to perform maintenance on a battery, this is not the product for you.

I have 2 older sears chargers and this model VEC1095A is the best smallest charger on the market. I have had it and other larger vector chargers for at least 3 years. They have always worked flawlessly. They display the condition of the battery which is very helpful. The no spark or reduced spark camps make the original Vector chargers safer to use as their is less chance of coming in contact with other metal objects which may be near charging terminal. The clamps are heavy grade with a strong spring which helps make a solid connection to the battery terminal. Clamp cable length is quite sufficient 6 Feet. No problems noted with fan operation after 3 years of use. I use this to charge automomobile gel cell and AGC type batteries and small lawn mower batteries. Power cuts off once sufficent charge is attained or unit notifies you of a bad battery with an open cell. I even may buy another. Smaller Vector models are easier to handle and get more use than my larger ones. I Used it to recharge friends BMW automobile battery with no problems as wellef. Would recoment it to anyone who wants a small efficient, dependable charger. I bought mine in 2010 around the time Vector was taken over by Black and Decker. One of the larger Vector Units I have 1098A is now made or supervised manufacturing by Black and Decker hence the larger Vector model number changes to 1098ABD by adding BD to original part number noting it is made by Black and Decker. The original Vector engineering team created a great battery charger. It will recondition batteries that are sulphated. It isn't an overnight process. If the charger had parts with a much higher mean time before failure, this would be a winner. Unfortunately someone at Black and Decker decided to save money. The result is a product that although great, doesn't last long enough to be worth purchasing. With the increasing cost of batteries there's a real need for a reliable product that can desulphate and restore auto batteries to the point they can be used far longer than expected.Unfortunately with an el cheapo Chinese fan and the short-lived keypad switches, a great concept was wasted. If a company dedicated to quality instead of Black and Decker had bought Vector, this would be the standard by which all automotive battery chargers would be compared.
Black and Decker's price point market strategy is good for those who use a product very little. For somehing as expensive as this charger, the consumer deserves better value.
I would not recommend this battery charger. No parts are available and the small DC brushless fan that is the source of the multitude of failures does not appear to be a standard size for those that might attempt a home repair.
