I bought this universal charger after returning a different charger that didn't fit my TomTom Via. The universal charger works very well and the convenience of being able to charge the GPS device at home and set up a route before departure is really nice, especially if the trip isn't very long. Also, on a longer trip it could charge the TomTom in a motel room for the next leg of the journey. The charger came with a small additional USB connection which I don't need for the TomTom Via, but it might fit another device, like a phone. It seems sturdy, not too big to be stowed with the TomTom in a larger carry case.

The picture shows an adapter with a set of interchangeable international plugs. The box that arrived says "Universal USB Home Charger" on it, but international plugs are not included. Item is also made of cheap plastic, likely to break. It's going back!
