I bought this universal charger after returning a different charger that didn't fit my TomTom Via. The universal charger works very well and the convenience of being able to charge the GPS device at home and set up a route before departure is really nice, especially if the trip isn't very long. Also, on a longer trip it could charge the TomTom in a motel room for the next leg of the journey. The charger came with a small additional USB connection which I don't need for the TomTom Via, but it might fit another device, like a phone. It seems sturdy, not too big to be stowed with the TomTom in a larger carry case.Read Best Reviews of Universal USB Home Charger (Compatible with All GPS Brands) Here

The picture shows an adapter with a set of interchangeable international plugs. The box that arrived says "Universal USB Home Charger" on it, but international plugs are not included. Item is also made of cheap plastic, likely to break. It's going back!Just what I needed to charge my new Magellan at home in order to study its operation. I have had the Morningstar ProStar 30 operating in an off grid situation for 3 years now with zero problems. What I like most about it is that it constantly scrolls through three numbers amps coming in from your panels, amps going out for your power usage, and the voltage of the battery. In addition there is a red, yellow and green LED to indicate the overall state of charge of your battery.Since a lot of people don't know how to use solar power til they get used to it, the ProStar 30 also has a Low Voltage Disconnect. If the LED goes red, it means the battery is low. If it flashes red it means the battery is very very low and you should reduce or cut off your power usage to let it recover, and if that is unheeded the meter shows LVD and it shuts off the power connection for you. This way your batteries can't be fully discharged and damaged. Pretty much idiot proof protection.
One great feature is the ability to press the button on the front of the panel and temporarily disconnect the solar panels to show you the resting battery voltage without any power coming in. Or you can press it again to disconnect your power output to allow the fastest recharge of your batteries with zero draw on them. One more time disconnects both the panels and power output.
This unit doesn't just control your battery charge rate, it gives you enough info to learn how to MANAGE your solar power usage and batteries, and that's pretty critical for long term functionality when living off the grid.

Viair 00073 70P Heavy Duty Portable Compressor
- Must have a 15-ampere minimum power port rating
- Rated for use up to 100 PSI
- Deluxe carry bag included
- Brass twist-on tire chuck
- Turn unit on to inflate, off to check pressure pressure using onboard gauge
I also own a Craftsman, Campbell Hausfeld, & a Superflow HV35 from Q Industries(see the review). I have tested all the units on time to inflate a 215-70R14 from zero to 32lbs. In terms of speed to inflate the Viair 70p and Superflow HV35 blow away the lesser units from Craftsman and C.H.
It takes 15+ minutes to inflate with either of the lesser models. The 70p can handle the task in around 4.5 minutes where the HV35 was closer to 4 minutes flat. In addition to the speed advantages both higher end units do their job in a much smoother and quieter manner.
The 70p's advantages over the HV35 are: Build quality, lower sound output and lower running temperatures. It also seems to draw less current making it less likely to blow your accessory port fuse.
With it's sturdy construction, smooth, quiet, & cool operation, I have little doubt that this compressor will be there when I need it. For the $40 price tag it is a hight value per dollar when compared to lesser makes.

I cannot believe how good this thing is!I've spent some time doing research and happy i got this particular item
I have BMW with 19 inch sport wheels and low profile tires
This compressor is a part of my road side emergency kit
I have tire plugger and jack in addition to compressor as whole setup to fix my tire if i catch screw or nail while on the road
I have not had any issues in that regard yet, but i did use the comressor to inflate my tire.
It was a bit under spec, so i had to add some air
This little beast did the job within less than 30 second
Yes, not minutes, seconds!
It went from 34psi to 38psi in just a matter of seconds
It was done without any sweat either
Very little noise, very little vibration
Key things i like (also main reasons i bought it):
1. very small/compact compressor
2. powerfull enough to inflate even sport tires
3. super fast
4. built quality is very good
5. inflates other stuff (beach toys, sport equipment)

Great little compressor and built very well. Used this at the track to add air to the tires, the fastest cig lighter air compressor I ever used. I had many 20, 25 dollars air compressor and they all break within a year. The size is comparable to the other cheaper compressor not too big, which is nice. The pressure gauge on the compressor is good enough to help you fill your flat tire, just read it when the compressor is off.updateAlmost 3 years later, still runs like a champ. I don't really know what to say anymore cause its still working great. Would buy an other one if I lose it, cause this thing is not gonna break.

I bought this to use on a motorcycle. The pump's size is remarkably small for its output and the carrying case makes it perfect to carry on a motorcycle. However, the built-in gauge for the pump shows 50 pounds when the tires only have 40. That's far too inaccurate to be safe. I compared the pump's built-in gauge against a digital pressure gauge (which is accurate to 0.5 psi) and against the motorcycle's onboard internal gauge (accurate to within 1 psi). Both the external and internal digital readings were identical, but 10 pounds under the pump's readings. A 25% error bar is intolerable. The pump itself worked well until about 18 months later when it started making noise and about a week later it died. I have another cheaper machine by another brand that I kept in my car which lasted 10 years. The failure of this Viair pump so soon after I bought it makes the rating much lower. This pump measures up to what everyone has been saying about it. Great quality, compact size, VERY quiet for an air compressor, and it works fast, too. I like the carrying bag. I give it four stars because the cigarette lighter plug is designed for deep cigarette lighter outlets. I have a '94 Nissan Altima, and no matter what, the plug keeps popping out of the outlet. I have to either ask someone to hold the plug in while I use the pump or wedge a clip by my ashtray to keep it in. I really like the pump, so I'm going to keep it and shop for some kind of adapter. One more thing is that it would be nice if the bag had some kind of pocket to hold tip adapters (for pumping up sports balls, etc.... I don't really want to those to rattle around loose in the bag).
Added comment 6/2/09 -One reviewer mentioned that the screw-on attachment causes some air pressure to be lost from the tire after you fill it up. Although this attachment is very secure, I agree that it's a setback. However, I found the perfect solution: the Topeak Pressure-Rite Anit-Air Loss Connector. This thing is AWESOME. I got it for my bike tires, and it works great on car tires, too, which have identical valves. I highly recommend both the air pump and the pressure-rite adapter.
Also, in response to a couple of reviews, the gauge on my compressor works great.
Added comment 7/14/10 -Some people seem to be having trouble using the Topeak Pressure-Rite adapter with the Viair 70P because the threading on the adapter and the pump don't seem to match very well. Mine seems to work fine, although you do need to be a little careful when screwing it on. After attaching the Pressure-Rite adapter to the pump, I don't even bother removing it. It could be that the threading on one is metric and the other English, in which case a screw adapter would be ideal. I haven't checked the actual threading sizes, but I'll post an update if I find out. Also, it could be that not every individual product is the same, and some people could have better luck than others.
Keep in mind that the two products are made by different companies and were not specifically designed to be used together. However, I've been using them regularly to fill my bike and car tires for over a year now. When I screw the adapter onto the tire valve before turning the pump on, the pump will show zero pressure (note that this is with the adapter attached). When I turn the pump on, the pressure climbs quickly to the current pressure of the tire and then stabilizes. Then it climbs as the tire is being filled. The pressure that is displayed while it's filling is a little higher than the actual pressure. After I turn the pump off, I wait for the pressure to go down slightly to know what the actual pressure is.
When I unscrew the adapter from the tire valve, I can hear air leaking out. HOWEVER, this air does NOT appear to be coming from the tire, but it seems to be excess air coming out of the pump. I know this because when I check the tire pressure, it's what I expect it to be. Also, if I remove the adapter quickly enough, I can still hear air coming out even though the adapter is completely removed from the tire (which means that it's coming from the pump and not the tire). Like I said, I regularly use this to fill bike tires up to 100-120 psi. I go on numerous rides that are 50+ miles at 16+ mph. After learning how to use the pump properly (after just 1 or 2 tries), the only flat I ever got was when I was going through gravel in a bike lane. If there was a lot of air leaking out when I removed the adapter from the tire, the tire pressure would go down significantly, the tire itself would feel squishy and not rock solid, and I would get a lot more flats. This adapter is pretty much the only reason that I'm even capable of using the Viair 70P with bike tires because otherwise the screw-on attachment (without the adapter) would leak too much air when I removed it due to the high pressure in the tires. For car tires, though, it's probably not that big of a deal because they're only about 30 psi instead of 120 psi.
So in summary, the Topeak Pressure-Rite adapter is great addition to the Viair 70P, but it might take a little bit of getting used to.
Also, for the deep cigarette outlet issue, I found this adapter which works pretty well: Multi-Use Vehicle Charger with Dual USB Ports and Dual 12 Volt Sockets Magnadyne

I purchased this for the Cold Cranking Amps to power my big bore Harley. I had it for 3 months before it died, then replaced it with the same model battery and it also lasted 3 months. Every time I started my bike it took to much power out of it and then took to long to recharge until they just wouldn't hold a charge anymore. For stock applications It would most likely work fine but it is billed as a heavy duty battery and it fails. You can actually measure the decrease in cold cranking amps after every start. Once a Week I would measure it and watched the life just tick awayI bought this battery to replace the Power-Wheels stock 12V one that was dead in my kids ride-on Tonka truck. To my surprise, it fit in the original battery holder, I just had to use some longer M5 bolts to use the stock battery hold-down. The kids have been using the truck for nearly a month now, i have not recharged it yet! Great battery. As the other review stated that the Odyssey died after a few months, yes just like it says it will in the manual if your bike has too small of an alternator and you ride short trips at low speeds! This is a different AGM battery that will get a very long service life IF you get an approved charger that charges and floats at different levels than all other batteries. These batteries give extreme cranking amp plus the ability to deep cycle which few batteries can do. My HD starts right up now since I have a high torque starter. Get the Battery Minder 12248 WITH the temp monitor for optimal charge and floating. If you don't follow these recommendations then dont waste your money and get a regular AGM that will die sooner! You cannot beat a dry cell for motorcycle applications. I have used Odyssey Batteries before and the longevity of these batteries are superior.Belkin Car Charger with 8-Pin Lightning Cable Connector to USB Cable for Apple iPhone 5, iPad (4th G
- Ultra-compact
- Plugs into any car power outlet
- 10 Watts/2.1 Amp
- Includes separate 4 foot Lightning to USB cable
- Powered USB port
2.1 AMP OUTPUT: This ensures I have the maximum electrical output available. FYI: 2.1 amps multiplied by 5 Volts DC = 10.5 watts, but labels will only show 10 watts
COMPACT SIZE: This fits in a vehicle 12 volt socket well and protrudes only enough to get a good grip to pull it out with your fingers. Some products were unnecessarily long or bulky; I prefer simple.
REMOVABLE USB CORD: Instead of a hardwired connection, I have the versatility to swap out the Lightning cord with a USB to micro USB cord for my wife's phone or the USB to Apple 30-pin connector for the iPad. If you find nothing but the Apple OEM size of lightning connections fits with your phone case, you can buy this same item without the cord for less $ and use your own cord. Search: F8J051ttWHT (color white) or F8J051ttBLK (color black)
NO RING OF LIGHT: So many reviewers of products complained about the light ring feature being a distraction. This model features a simple round green LED light that is not much brighter than the console button lights in my car. I ended up twisting the light to the 3 o'clock position where the USB connector blocks my direct line-of sight to it. If I wanted to, a small piece of black electrical tape would cover the LED completely and easily since it is away from the USB connection. This is the 1 feature I valued to prefer it over the Belkin # F8J090bt04-BLK, which has the same power output and small form factor.
Is it cheap, no. But would I rather spend less and give up some these features.......no. I would have bought the version of this product less the 4' cord if a good coiled cord were available(I didn't like the Griffin coiled cord). Thanks for reading! The car charger I was using before this was the Kensington K39224US PowerBolt Micro Car Charger for iPad, iPhone and iPod, including iPhone 4. Since I upgraded to the iPhone 5, I only had to buy a Apple Lightning to USB Cable to keep using that one, which is 2.1 amps, like this one by Belkin.
After using the Belkin, I would say it is comparable to the Kensington charger, but it already comes with a Lightning to USB cable, so that may figure in one's comparison of their prices if one doesn't already have a cable.
In a 30 minute drive, my iPhone 5 increased in charge from 50% to 89% using the Belkin, for an average of 1.3% increase in charge per minute. This seems comparable to my former charger.
Either product is excellent, and the fact that they can charge any of the Apple products quickly, assuming you have the proper USB cables, is convenient. The iPhone wall outlet chargers are super-quick at charging. I have gone from 30% to 90% in about an hour. You get used to that kind of speed charging and this 2.1 AMP car charger give you exactly that! Initially, I scoffed at the price for these high AMP chargers and bought a 1 AMP car charger. Since my ride to work in less than 20 minutes, I would probably get 10% more charge off the 1 AMP charger, but with this 2.1 AMP charger, I manage to juice up about 25%. The really cool part of this charger is that I can pull out the USB cable and continue charging my phone via my laptop USB port.
The charger is well-designed and has a robust construction Apple worthy! The charger sits flush with my power outlet with just enough of it popping out to get an easy grip for removal. The charger does not have any edges, it blends well into the dash with only the distinctive green bezel being highlighted adds a little color to my drab dash. I also love the new low-profile negative (outer) terminal design. No more accidental snagging and ripping the terminal out of the charger. It also helps with a smoother insertion and removal from the power outlet.
The lightning connector is well designed and fits most cases without any issue (check images above)
Pros:
* Solid feel to the product. Well built and sturdy parts charger, cable and lightning connector
* Included USB Lightning cable
* Slim profile charger that sits flush and does not get in the way
* Fast charging almost as fast as a wall outlet charger. Approx 2.5 hours for a full charge
* Well designed lightning connector fits most cases without any issue
Cons:
* Pricey at $35 but not too expensive at current market rates for a 2.1 AMP charger with a reliable, detachable Lightning cable
* The charger has a Green LED that remains on when the charger is connected. It seems inefficient to power the gremlins. I have old USB car chargers that turn-off when a device is not plugged in, light up Red when charging and Green when fully charged I paid less than $10 for those chargers
* For a car, I prefer a coiled cable like this one, just keeps things compact Griffin Tech PowerJolt SE Coiled Lightning Car Charger for iPhone 5, Touch 5G, Nano 7GA great little charger. Here are the Pros and the one single Con:
Pros:
Charges Fast: 2.1 amps...speedy and powerful.
Compact: Much closer to flush on dashboard than other car chargers I've used.
Active Light: A little green light is on when the charger is receiving power, so you know it is active and charging if something is plugged in.
Lightning: Obviously this is a Lightning Cable connector, and it works as advertised with my iPhone 5. The Lightning end of the cable is nice and thin, not too thick like other non-Apple Lightning cables (such as the Amazon Basics version), so it fits through my narrow iPhone case opening with no problem.
Flexible Cable: The cable itself is nice and flexible, not too stiff or hard to manage. This is important given that you will be using this in the car and need as few additional hassles as possible.
Con:
Not Fully Backwards Compatible: This charger does not appear to be fully backwards compatible to all earlier (30-pin) iPods as advertised. Belkin claims "As long as you have the corresponding cable, you can use the charger with legacy 30-pin Apple devices." But this doesn't appear to be completely accurate. I base this on attempting to swap the Lightning cable for a USB 30-pin cable which I use with another Belkin charger and then attempting to charge my iPod Classic. It did not work, and that's a bummer. But I like this charger so much otherwise that I will not downrate it for this. However it would have been nice to use this charger with my iPod Classic. It is worth being aware of this if backwards compatibility is a necessary feature for you. It may well work with other 30-pin devices, so I'm still giving it 5 stars for what it does do, because it does it so well.
For the price and functionality this is a great Lightning Cable car charger. When the iphone 5 came out, my husband like many I am sure ran out and upgraded all of our 4's to 5's. Well...what he didn't realize is there were hardly any chargers or accessories available for the iphone 5 devices. So we have limped through many months without a car charger. It's been one of the most frustrating things about owning the new iphone. NO MORE! The Belkin Car Charger does the trick! This will charge Apple iphone 5's. 4th generation iPads, iPad mini, iPod Touch 5th generations, iPod nano 7th generations. Right now I only use it for my iPhone 5 in the car and it works perfectly. Highly recommend this product.

CyberPower CPS150BI AC Mobile Power Inverter/Converter, 12VDC to 120VAC, 150W, Bottle Mount
Additionally, I found this nugget from a review on Newegg:
"The problem with this unit is that neither the hot or the neutral plug on the unit are referenced to ground. In other words, the neutral actually has a potential of 60v above ground. This can lead to some shocking situations. The ground leg of the inverter is just a dummy hole -there is no actual ground.
In layman's terms, the electrical design of this unit is very poor and would never achieve household electrical standards. I can't figure out how they are allowed to manufacture and sell this unit especially when they advertise it for use with laptops."
And upon further inspection, I can confirm that this is accurate, which could possibly be the reason why my laptop charger overloads the unit despite the fact that the unit is supposed to be able to supply 140-watts continuously.
This unit does seem to work well for small electronic devices, but I cannot recommend this unit for any electrical device that draws much power or uses a 3-prong connector.great!
This item came in very handy after we experienced a hurricane. Power was out for a couple days and this little thing charged everything. Laptops, phones, PSP, I worked my juice blender from my car!
plus, there is also a fan inside that keeps the plugs cool to the touch. A bit noisy because of the fan, but the power and convenience far outweighs that.
I definitely recommend!!

I just purchased a Chrysler ASPEN which is equiped with several Outlets but when I plugged my sons portable DVD player into the cigarette lighter type outlet it didnt work anymore. So I remembered seeing this AC Mobile Power in Walmart on our last trip there and thought it may just work. Its great, the pivot is good to get it started and get in the awkward postion needed to plug in the DVD players home charger. HOWEVER-it cant stay pivoted with the weight of the cord. So, I pluged the adaptor into the center console and now its perfect. PLUSit has plenty space around the Mobile Power adapter to let the fan work, and I can close the lid of the console to drown out the buzz'humm of the fan. Very loud and my son (6yrs) was scared from the noise until I explained the fan and why it was good to have the fan.
PROs: Power Light indicates its actually working!, Fan to keep it from overheating quickly, Pivots to allow access in strange outlet places in my vehicle, USB port to charge my Flip Camcorder on the go.
CONs: Very bulky, Fan is way too loud and distracting, Pivot doesnt hold upright where needed. When I took several electronic items on the road (including my laptop), I was glad to have this small device along. It allowed me to work while my husband drove, and ensure that if I wasn't able to charge my laptop at night, I could quickly plug it in while traveling.
I keep it now as a handy "emergency" back up plan ... and will carry it with me next month when I am on the road again, although most of my electrical charging is done through USB chargers now my iPad has replaced my laptop for road trips!
What I enjoyed most about it was that it flexes, allowing you to angle it in a way that makes plugging your device in easy.I ordered two of these and it does exactly what it is supposed to do as detailed in the written description.

It definitely works and it's worth the money for the application (using the laptop for the kids to view movies). My only complaint is that it's VERY tight in the car outlet, so if you don't pull it out just so, it comes apart. But if you're careful, it's fine (I just don't let my wife do it any more :)). Bosch C7 12/24-Volt 6-Mode Battery Charger and Maintainer
- One touch smart charging with automatic voltage detection for easy operation
- Micro Computer Unit provides state-of-the-art charging to restore sulfated, discharged, and acid stratified batteries to their original capacity without under- or overcharging
- Maintenance charging mode automatically switches on when battery drops below 12.8V
- Regeneration mode to recover a short term deeply discharged battery
- Includes mounting bracket, charger cable with built-in fuse, and 2 fully insulated charger clamps
I personally don't but I have friends who would really get their money's worth out of this machine. If you have battery issues, or live with someone who can't seem to remember to turn out their lights then this thing will save a lot of time and headaches. If your battery only ever goes dead because it's dead for real then a cheaper charger to get you to a battery store will probably do the trick. Only you know which works in your situation.
I think it's a great product with a lot of great features it's just more than your average person will need.

This Bosch battery charger is a good one for people who are nervous about electrical chargers, not mechanically inclined or have auto that sits unused for long periods of time, if your willing to pay the steep price.I've tested and verified the product features for this battery charger/maintainer with good results:
-One touch smart charging with automatic voltage detection for easy operation
* Yes. The charger will detect voltage as soon as you connect the clamps.
-Micro Computer Unit prevents overcharging, overheating, provides reverse polarity protection for user/battery safety
* Yes. As soon as the clamps are connected the battery charger detects whether or not they are connected properly to prevent shorting out any electrical components
-Maintenance/Trickle charging mode automatically switches on when battery is fully charged
* Yes. Great feature if your charging an auto overnight, to prevent overcharging and ruining your battery.
-Regeneration mode to recover a short term deeply discharged battery
* Yes. It took 30 minutes to bring my car (it sits unused but maybe 3 or 4 times a month) to a full charge in regeneration mode.
The display also keeps you informed of the percentage charged, leaving no guess work to the remaining charge capacity. Also the size of this charger is plus, in that it is small, making it very portable and easy to store, compared to a lot of other bulky battery chargers.
It's a nice and handy battery charger overall, with the automation built-in leaving a lot of guess work behind for the user.

This little gadget is impressive both in its function and price. For what it would cost to buy the new battery, this batter charger will charge the battery on your car indefinitely.I have a 2007 Toyota Yaris on which the battery was declared dysfunctional by the dealership the car doesn't get much use, and sits in the garage most of the time. I was told that I needed to replace it or else! I chose the "else" and continued to drive it for another month. A month later, the battery wouldn't start. Bosch battery charger to the rescue! I charged up the battery and drove the car successfully for about 4 months. Four months later, I forgot to turn off the light in the car. This is something that happens to everyone on occassion. Instead of getting someone to bring alligator clips and charge up the car, I pulled out the trust charger and charged up the battery.
The only disadvantage to this charger is that it must be plugged in to the wall, i.e., you have to be next to a garage, a driveway, etc. -can't recharge while out and about.

I only give it 2 stars because I think the price is too high for what you get in comparison to other brands. This charger will do everything they say it will and do it well but please see my followup at the end of this review...it's a major negative!! I have other Bosch equipment and have always been satisfied with their quality. However, why pay over $100 for this when you can buy a "Battery Tender" brand that will do all this for a fraction of that price and is much simpler to operate? The battery clamps do not come attached and the connectors that do come attached are too small to go over the battery posts on most batteries. The Battery Tender (for a lot less money) gives you the choice of clamps or connectors (that are large enough to fit the battery posts) simply by unplugging the ones you don't want and then plugging in what you do want. Yes, this has 6 modes to operate and if you have a need for the other modes such as recharging a severely discharged battery or charging a 24 volt system on your bus then this is probably the one you want. However, if you are just wanting to charge a battery on an occasionally used vehicle and keep it fully charged without fear of overcharging then the other brand will do what you want for a lot less and is smaller and simpler to operate! I also found the instruction manual to be a little weak (at least the English version was).UPDATE:
I just discovered another MAJOR disadvantage to this charger. I had a power outage today and I discovered that after the power is interrupted this trickle charger does not come back on in the charge mode. In fact, even a minor fluctuation in the power source and this thing goes in to "stand by". You have to be there and press the mode button to start it charging and/or monitoring your battery. This could be a real problem when left on a seldom used battery, such as a car in storage, and just when you thought the battery was being kept at full charge you realize it has not been charging since the last power interruption! The other above mentioned brand does come back on in the charge mode when the power is restored.Bosch Autoparts has two battery chargers, the C3 and C7. The C3 is for 6V/12V batteries while the C7 is for 12V/24V batteries. Both will work for the usual contemporary 12V car battery. I have several vehicles which see little if any use in the winter, mostly lawn tractors and similar items where batteries tend to die if they're not regularly kept charged. I've used a Battery Tender (a competing product) with very good results. The Battery Tender is not helpful, however, if the battery is already so far gone that maintenance through a trickle charge will not bring it up to spec. That's where the C7 comes in handy. A battery exhausted by being run all the way down (leaving the lights on, for example), can be recharged with the C7. My alternative previously was to use a regular battery charger, then remember to disconnect that after a reasonable period and switch over to the trickle charger to prevent overcharging.
In any case, the Bosch C7 works very well at both maintaining and recharging batteries. The only down side I found is the one noted by another reviewer if the power goes out, the C7 stops charging and awaits further instruction. The Battery Tender, on the other hand, immediately picks up where it left off, without requiring a button to be pushed. This isn't good if you're keeping a car charged in a country home where the power tends to go off intermittently.
The unit works well and has a well designed interface that is intuitive and straightforward.
Schumacher PSW-70300A Manual or Automatic High Performance Charger
- For charging 12V battery systems
- 300 Amp engine start, 70 Amp rapid charge, 40 and 20 Amp fast charge and 4 Amp slow charge
- Large face, clear-view ampere and volt meters have easy to read graduated scales
- Chrome-plated handle has a rubber grip and unique non-conductive clamp rest
- This unit is a durable, heavy-duty steel cabinet with wide-track wheels
Decent quality, but it won't likely be an heirloom you pass down through the generations. My first one arrived caved in (and the box was undamaged). Of course Amazon handled that surperbly, but it still added a few days until I had a properly working unit.
This model has both voltage and amperage gauges, and they're analog.
Keep in mind that bigger is not always better. Even though this is rated at putting out 300A, I can't get a normal car battery to take more than 100 or so at best. I presume that's a function of the internal resistance of the battery, but there is indeed a limit to how fast you can charge a lead acid battery. 300A might be overkill for automotive stuff (but might be handy for large trucks, campers, golf cars, etc).

Good price on heavy duty quality charger. It is physically heavy which in my experience is components needed for a charger. The cart with long handles make it easy to move around shop and farm.Read Best Reviews of Schumacher PSW-70300A Manual or Automatic High Performance Charger Here
This tool offers a range of useful features, which are not available on cheaper devices such as genuine quick charge and starting capabilities. The auto charge feature is better than it was on my last charger because it brings the state of charge close to full. I purchased this charger for a fire house to replace a similar, 20-year-old Snap-On charger that had finally given out.Pros:
* Durability Not quite as solid as our old Snap-On charger, but acceptable in this day and age when every piece of metal and plastic seems to be thinner than a comparable part from the past. Seems to be built well enough for "fire house" use (and abuse) as well as use in a repair shop and/or home garage. Certainly well above the "made in China" or "Harbor Freight" quality level.
* Microprocessor control, etc. Relatively goof-proof settings mean less chance that people who think they know what they're doing (but don't) will damage batteries or vehicle electronics (or themselves) by setting the controls incorrectly or hooking up the cables backwards. Yellow (charging) and green (charged) indicator lights as well as amperage draw and voltage meters give a good indication of what's actually going on during the charge beyond "oh, the fan in the charger is running, so something must be happening." The timer makes a very subtle "tick" so you know it's not stuck.
* High amperage engine start assist capability Bigger is better when you're dealing with vehicles with two (or more) batteries, and 300 amps is close to the high end of what's available.
* Knobs are solid and easy to grasp I don't expect to need replacements any time soon, and people with big hands or wearing gloves shouldn't have any trouble manipulating them. There's a good, solid, substantial-sounding click when you change the knobs from one position to another.
* Battery desulfation capability, float mode charging capability, and alternator performance testing mode provide additional flexibility and utility.
* Amazon pricing for this unit was the best I could find anywhere on the web or in stores.
Cons:
* Cables are probably adequate, but they don't seem QUITE as hefty as those on our old Snap-On unit or those on some jumper cables I've used (yes, I'm aware that fatter cables aren't always better because sometimes the fat is from extra layers of plastic insulation being wrapped around the cable to give the illusion of heft/quality). The cables are apparently up to the task and do not get hot during the charging process. The clamps also have a stop on them so that they won't slide down a battery post.
* The control panel has the word "Ampers" on it (should be Amps or Amperes). How embarrassing.
Other:
* I used this unit to charge the batteries on a fire truck that has two mammoth batteries that had been discharged from sitting unused for several months, and the charger worked beautifully.
* Other reviewers mentioned packaging issues. The charger I received was packed in a cardboard retail box, which had been slid inside a plain brown packing box, and the brown box had then been placed inside a larger Amazon box that was filled with the usual crumpled paper and inflated plastic air-pillow packing. In other words, it was packed properly for UPS shipping. The unit was in excellent shape when it arrived with no damage whatsoever.
Bottom Line:
* All things considered, I am very pleased with this charger and have no regrets about purchasing it. I recommend it to others with needs similar to mine. This unit was received in damaged condition. I read a previous review written about this item and completely agree with that reviewer that person's first unit was also damaged. The unit comes in its own cardboard box with no outer box and the handle is packed tightly against the cabinet of the unit with very little clearance to the cardboard box. Therefore, if it is banged against other packages during shipping, it is very likely to be damaged. Hard to believe the manufacturer doesn't know this or doesn't care, I guess. The unit looks like it will work OK, but the shipping packaging is very poor. Large dents on the sides and top of the unit. With Amazon's return policy, you cannot return this item and must dispose of it as "hazardous material". (Remember, this weighs about 40 pounds). I ended up talking with an Amazon customer service person and she was very helpful. They offered to order a replacement unit or fully refund my purchase price. I opted to try ordering again. She processed an order for another unit for me at no charge so I will see how that one looks/works when it arrives. Good luck if you order one of these! Follow up comment: Amazon sent a replacement unit to me within 5 days. It was triple-packed in cardboard boxes and arrived with no damage. Works great have had to use it to jump an older 5.0 L engine and with a dead battery twice and engine started right up this unit has plenty of power!

The USB ports are on all the time, which is great. Only thing I could say is a complaint is that I was charging 2 devices and the USB side became very hot over time. Next time I used it, I switched on the inverter (was not using A/C output) to allow the cooling fan to run and it solved the heat condition. I tested the load of the inverter and the usb ports. It draws practically nothing unloaded and seems to be efficient loaded. I did not test the load rating of this inverter.
It has a 2 port plug and a plastic sheild that flips out if you want to use a three pronged plug.
This is a great little product for charging laptops and phones. I don't have any iproducts, so I can not say if it works with them or not. It charged my power hungry Thunderbolt with no issues via USB.

It is very dificult to plug a power cord into the dc ac plug. The usb ports work fine. Size is nice. This is like many of the other inverters, but this one can handle more with a 200w capacity. My previous inverter "fried" after a short time. This one has a great price for this value. Works great to power my laptop. I am mobile and this is a great solution to keep me powered up and moving.
