There's nothing fancy about this cord, it's literally just 4 feet of wire with male plugs on each end. It cost 1/2 as much as another, so if you want something cheap and simple this is better (and it has no LEDs or such that give even a tiny drain if you want to leave it between 2 batteries or such). However, it came with no instructions, so although you may think "You just plug it in don't you?", there are some things you need to think about and beware of that I'll pass along.

First, any power cord with male plugs on both ends has the possibility of one end being plugged into a source (like your car) and the other touching something metal (like a body part of the car) creating a "short circuit" which can start an electrical fire (unless a fuse saves you). So although the 12V won't zap you if you touch the bare end, just remember if you pull the plug on one end, always instantly pull the plug on the other end (don't ever leave just one end connected).

I thought they may have a resistor or such inside this to limit current flow thru it as power goes from your car to a "jump start" battery (which is it's advertized purpose), but it doesn't. Although some may think "That's good so you get the full car power faster to recharge it, right?", the truth is this also can create an electrical fire or blow the car fuse from the high power draw and small wires in this (which is most likely if you have a heavily drained battery that you plug in). The only way I can think of avoiding that risk is to hook it up with the jumper cable clamps directly to the car battery for a few minutes first (to get rid of the initial high draw thru the big wires), then after just a few minutes of that you can probably move it back to this for a road trip to "top it off" over a longer time. Yet doing that means opening the hood and almost defeating the purpose of having this. So if I was using this in my car to recharge a battery like that, I'd stay by it for a few minutes and perhaps even keep my hand on the plug or wire (to pull the plug if I feel it getting hot).

Update, I did try this to recharge a "jump start" battery in my car and after 10+ minutes I pulled the plug and the positive terminal was pretty warm. Nothing came apart or such, but I wonder what would have happened if I'd left it longer.

The one other concern I'll pass along is from seeing several places say "You shouldn't charge a sealed AGM or gel battery to more than 14V" (which is what's in most "jump-start" packages), yet I know that cars alternators usually bring the battery to ~14.75V. So charging in a car with this has the potential to "over-charge" it some, but at the same time it's best for the battery to recharge it ASAP after using it (not leaving it drained). So I'd still use it, but probably only for 15-30 minutes depending on how drained it is and battery size. (I also find it interesting that while 1V overcharge is a big deal to some, the trickle-chargers provided by OEMs of most "Jump-start" batteries have the potential to go to 17V+ if left on too long. So which is more dangerous, a higher current charge limited to 1V "overcharge" for a short time in the car or a slow current over a much longer time that can go to 3-4V over?)

Product has dual strong side springs and strong male end contact springs. Will not vibrate loose from use with an air compressor or vibrating tool. 48" long heavy duty electric cord. I am completely satisfied with the product, in fact it's a steal at its price. I'm highly pleased with the product and couldn't ask for more.

We needed this to recharge battery for cpap machine on camping trips. Most campgrounds we stay at don't have electric, so after a few days we need to recharge the cpap battery in the car. This allows us to do so.

I have a solar power charger that has a 12v out and I needed to pair it with a battery pack that accepts a 12v male connection. This product serves the purpose. Couldn't find it in Canada.

Cord length, nice and long, about 6ft if I remember correctly. Price was very reasonable. Good buy!
