Note that this product does work. It charges via the input on the GPS itself, rather than via the suction cup cradle. The coiled cord is so short however, that I struggled to maintain good connectivity between the cigar lighter and the GPS, mounted on my windshield.

This product is okay, but I finally went to sporting goods store and bought a Garmin product to replace the one my grandson lost

My power cable broke on my Garmin, which I learned is almost impossible to get fixed, other than by sending the device back to the factory. This product was an excellent work around, allowing me to power my Garmin through the mini USB port.
