For the price this compact mini camcorder does OK for my purposes.

Lens does fisheye. Menu operation is very simple.

Onboard mic hardly works and aux. mic is overkill picking up all background sounds.

Beauty of this camcorder is all the extra mounts. Even with the small glitches

I am considering purchasing another. Worth the price and water proof

are strong features. If you want remote video and do not expect boardcast

quality HD video you will not regret purchasing this mini wonder that's a heck

of a tool.

I'm sure there's better, but for a lot more dough.

Price, extra attachents, small size makes this a winner in my book!

I've had this camera and subjected it to quite a bit of abuse over the last year-and-a-half.

First off, let me break your dreams apart and say this (as with ANY action cam) sacrifices video quality for durability. What they call 1080p is really 720p at best in viewability (the resolution you you shrink it down to and it looks good.) If you want true 1080p, you need a quality standard camera.

Pros:

Rugged. I dropped it into a glass of soda to make a point. It's fallen, it's dropped, it's been thrown in the air. It keeps on chugging.

Includes ALL mounting hardware. What you'd pay 200-300 for on a GoPro (the screen, car mount, bike mount, etc) you get FOR FREE.

Nonstop Recording mode. In one mode: You can have it record continuously in 2 GB chunks and when it is full, it will delete the OLDEST 2 GB chunk so it works like kind of like a police camera. It's GREAT for having in a car to prove you didn't cause an accident and I have two for that purpose.

Neither pro nor con:

Like many waterproof cameras, it uses an O-ring seal that will eventually fade with time. You can replace it.

Video quality is fair for a camera, but great for the price and durability

Cons:

Notable jitter during vibration. If you shake the camera a lot like on a bicycle, the camera shutter actually intensifies the jitter to the video and is almost useless. This is a common problem for action cameras, though it is fixed in higher priced, more recent ones. (I think the newer GoPro fixes that.)

The 1080p video was excellent. This was when I was just walking round with it. But when I used it during biking, I found the battery lid would keep opening up and aborting video capture. For something labeled 'Extreme' I found it lacking, especially if you are going to shake it around some. For walking it was ok. I returned it for refund.
