I used the phone to search online to find any reference to this thing working with the iPhone, and found absolutely nothing. I checked the store's return policy and chanced it.
Success.
If you plug it into your phone while you're listening to the iPod portion of your phone, it will think you've docked it and try to route the audio through the plug.
It will tell you "This product is not designed to work with the iPhone" or some such message asking you if you want to go to airplane mode. If you click no, the phone displays the "I'm charging" battery and begins to fill.
All of this on a product that isn't even officially supported. I'm sure it will work just as well with my iPod, which is supported.
One star taken away for the unfortunate glitch of not working with rechargable batteries.
Buy Duracell My Pocket Charger for Ipod and BlackBerry, 2 Pack Now
My charger is very finnicky. I do not know if there is a problem with it or if I am doing something wrong. I threw away the instructions because I did not think I would need instruction on something like this.First off...I paid much less than the Amazon price for the 2-pack at Costco.
When I put in new batteries and then connect the charger cord for my Blackberry a little green light comes on(or at least 75% of the time, the green light comes on) then I plug into my phone and the phone begins to charge. I have not been able to charger for more than 5 minutes ever! It will remain plugged in but the green light turns off and the phone stops charging. Sometimes the charger gets warm but never that hot. I have changed the batteries 3-4 times and it has never helped the issue.
I feel like I either have a faulty charger. I sold the other one in the pack of 2 so I dont know if that one works. Also with a little research I found today that Duracell does not manufacture these chargers. They just put their name on them to market them.
Here is the review from USA Today...they give more company info.

I am not saying don't buy...just saying be wary of this product. I have not had good luck with it

I bought this a year ago for that emergency time in the future when my iTouch ran out of juice on a long plane ride. Well, imagine my chagrin when I went to plug it in on a flight for the first time this week and it said "Charging Device Not Supported".Thanks, Duracell.
Want Duracell My Pocket Charger for Ipod and BlackBerry, 2 Pack Discount?
I believe this product is manufactured by Xantrex and Duracell just puts its name on it. Well, guess what, I bought this hoping that I could just put rechargebable batteries in it (Duracell NiMh batteries, no less) and have a cheap source of back up power. Well, it didn't work out that way.I, like many others here, bought at Costco in a 2 pack. I, like a couple others, apparently, had thought it would work with rechargeable batteries (Duracell rechargeables). It turns out that it doesn't work with rechargeable batteries and it turn out that it is a fairly finicky product altogether (read: poorly engineered and manufactured).
Duracell enjoys notariety as a well-respected high quality American brand and it definitely "dropped the ball" on this product. If you check out Duracell's website, however, you will notice that they are selling a newer line of products with LiIon batteries built in and they are sold (on Amazon, in fact) as a Duracell Powerhouse and Duracell Pocket USB chargers. You'll have to read the reviews for yourself (if you're even interested), but I'm guessing that these new products by incorporating a built-in LiIon battery may address the charging issues discoverd in this inferior Xantrex designed model. This item does NOT work with all Blackberry devices. It comes with a mini USB only. That fact is omitted in all the info about it. If you need a micro USB connection, keep looking.
