Instapark PowerBox Mars100 Fold-n-Go Portable 100-Watt Solar-powered 12V Battery Charger with Power

Instapark PowerBox Mars100 Fold-n-Go Portable 100-Watt Solar-powered 12V Battery Charger with Power Dome EX 400-Watt Jump Starter with Built-In Air Compressor
  • Powerful 100 watts high-efficiency mono-crystalline solar panel with foldable design, ideal for charging all 12-volt lead-acid, flooded or sealed maintenance free batteries (AGM and gel cell)
  • Stylish, foldable & self-contained design with compact size and light weight, ideal for home use and outdoor activities
  • Built-in controller prevents battery from being over-charged or over-discharged and built-in cooler fan with temperature sensor prevents overheating.
  • Multi-functional 5-LED Charge / Battery Strength indicator
  • Adjustable steel flip stand for maximum sunlight exposure

Not at all what I expected, The USB port will not charge my IPAD, I have to plug it in to the DC port which means turning on the Fan to keep the charger cool which causes the battery to run down really quick and does not even fully charge my IPAD. I am really disappointed with this Charger. I think that they need to find a better battery charger. The Solar panel is great but needs more adapters.

Powermonkey eXplorer - Portable Charger with Solar Slave (Grey)

Powermonkey eXplorer - Portable Charger with Solar Slave
  • Compatible with PDAs
  • Combatible with mobile phones
  • Compatible with iPods
  • Compatible with PSP & Nintendo DS

I have two of these (unlike the previous reviewer, I know how to checkout and bought two intentionally) They are fantastic, they can be charged by plugging into the wall, USB, or sunlight and surprising to me they also charge by the light of my dinning room chandelier!

Although I rated the item as a five I do have one complaint: finding additional tips for other things has been difficult. The kids want one for their Gameboy and I'd like a few for misc digital cameras that I carry that need a specialized tip. But until then, I can still charge those things if I use their USB charging cable and connect it to the female USB tip on the PowerMonkey.

Very versatile, well worth the money, highly recommended.

The powermonkey works better than expected!!! It does not need direct sunlight. I placed it about 2-3 feet from a window and it works perfectly. This is an excellent product! Feels good being able to charge virtually any electronic device "off the grid". ...Just look around.

I have the PowerMonkey eXplorer and it is a great product. My iPod tip was a bit loose but a long way from junk... I just glued it and it's good as new. NO problem with the charger or the solar slave.

I DID spend a lot of time online looking for tip options. They are available from 1-877-886-2646 and they have about 50 additional tips. Very nice to do business with.

I originally purchased the classic Powermoney Powermonkey PowerTraveller Portable Charger (Grey) and found it to be a great item. The main difference between the old and the new version is that you can charge the older one as well as charge your iPod at the same time (I personally like this feature). When I saw the updated version, I picked that up as well.

The PROS:

uses 110V or 220V

has all the necessary adapters for power

includes many tips for electronic devices including the iPod and iPhone as well as others like the Razor phone

compact

can charge via solar

automatic shut off (not found on older model)

the CONS:

the cord is a little short (minor complaint)

extra tips are a tad expensive

cannot charge device and powermonkey at same time unlike original model as mentioned above

All things considered, it is a great setup. Every person I have shown this to, loves it!

If you have an older tip like I do, the tip will not work thanks to Apple's decision to remove the firewire support for their new syncing cables thus the old tip will not charge newer iPods and iPhones. One solution I found was the Scosche Scosche passPORT Charging Adapter for iPod touch 2G, 3G; iPod nano 4G; iPhone 3G (Black) which is a tad bulky but does the trick very nicely.

You can order directly from Powertraveller to get the other tips. The pricing is a little steep but using paypal you can get it sent to your home. The new tips (called MonkeyNuts) worked with my iTouch and iPhone (new 3GS). Be certain to securely insert the adapter into the device. Enjoy and thank for reading!

I had the original power monkey used for a month traveling Africa with the family, worked great in 4 different countries, stayed powered up on a 24hr airline flight back to the USA from Africa. I'm getting the solar power monkey explorer to replace the power monkey(gave it to my son). It does have delicate connectors(knew this from reviews) just take care inserting them & you'll be fine. Highly recommend this great power saver.

Rapid Car Charger + Home Wall Charger + USB Data Charge Sync Cable for HTC EVO 3D 4G Android PhoneBought a single car charger in a retail store for quadruple the price of all these items.... given their inexpensive price I figured they would be of inferior quality but after several months of use they are still working fine...

Kawasaki 840110 Black 19.2-Volt Drill Kit

Kawasaki 840110 Black 19.2-Volt Drill Kit
  • Two speed drill with 25 torque settings matches power to job
  • Built-in bubble level for accurate drilling and driving
  • Keyless chuck for quick and easy bit changes
  • Kit includes assorted drill and driver bits with bit holder and two batteries with battery charger
  • Handy storage case keeps bits organized

Price is attractive but you will remember the poor quality long after the low price is forgotten. Drill is made by AllTrade. Drill head on the drill I received for Christmas was not properly aligned, so the bit wobbles with every turn of the drill head. I sent it back to AllTrade for correction while under warranty with a thorough description of the problem but the drill came back in the same condition in which I sent it. Wish I had simply returned it.

If your buying this to be a work horse I probably wouldn't bother, but if your a home handy man who needs a nice cheaply priced drill this is it. I've been in the construction business for over 30 yrs and have always bought heavy duty drills. My drills still work good but having to spend big dollars on a battery just dosn't make sense to me any more. I bought this drill at Christmas and have used it on and off for the last three months. So far it has plenty of power and is a buy for the money. The bits that came with are also pretty good in quality. So for a forty dollar drill I say go for it.

I picked one of these up in a local warehouse club last year, around $40, and used it fairly extensively for a couple of months to install wood floors. It was a compact and well balanced unit, and I liked the way it felt in the hand. Plenty of power for a basic drill/driver, and good battery life.

But after about three months, the switch burned out, and it would no longer work. I dissected it to see if I could fix it, but the switch was shot. I have been unable to find a parts supplier online or otherwise. Kawasaki's sites do not even acknowledge that they make such a product, so I suspect it is manufactured in China and imported under the K label. The reviewer below indicates it is made by AllTrade, but their website says send it back to them, and does not list the replacement parts for sale. Shipping and repair costs will likely be more than the unit originally cost.

It was a nice unit while it lasted, and I may be able to resurrect it with a homemade switch (sacrificing variable speed control).

But based on my experience, I would recommend you spend a little more to get one from a reputable tool manufacturer that stands behind its products.

While it's true that there was a recall on the batteries, it looks like the folks that had trouble with the batteries only being good for 10 to 15 holes did the following: "Put the battery in the charger, and let it sit there." What happens is that a green LED comes on and one would think it's charging. That's not the case. One actually has to push a (flat to the surface) button to initiate charging. So you push the button and a RED light comes on and stays on until the battery is charged. At which point the green light comes on indicating a charged battery.

I must admit I didn't read the manual and thus was running the drill 'for two months' without actually charging it. I only thought I was charging it. That's two months of use on just the battery come-back! That was over two years ago and now that I'm actually charging it the drill has more than enough power and longevity to spare.

Really, the only bad thing I have to say about the drill is that the two spring clip retainers for the drill bits wear out after extended use. But I was always weary about keeping bits there anyway, although I did.

The reason I'm looking at this drill on Amazon is that I was thinking about getting another one, because it's just handy to not having to change the bit all the time from a drill bit to a driving bit.

I am, and have been, happy with the drill and it's an excellent value for the p;rice. If you don't need a corded, heavy duty drill then this Kawasaki will do the job for you.

This wall charge is something I got as an auxiliary aide when I bought my GPS so that if needed, I could charge my Garmin GPS from an ordinary 110V AC wall socket if I had to do some extensive programming in the house, or if the GPS hadn't been used for a while and it needed to be charged to be ready for a trip.

It turns out that I have never had to use it! The battery in the Garmin GPS holds a charge sufficiently well that a wall charger wasn't necessary. But the dealer sold it at a good price, delivered it quickly and it was nicely packaged. So, kudos for the dealer for being an honorable merchant!

The unit arrived in a very reasonable period of time.

Short instruction manual contained inadequate how-to information (green attempt by Garvin, they say). Other than that, with the information available on line, the unit does what it claimed.

I have had the nuvi 780 for about a month and yesterday, received a lowbattery notification on-screen, which replaced the map while I was using it for directions to a distant location.

The low-battery notification occurred while the unit was plugged into a working DC cigarette lighter outlet in the car and required the nuvi to be turned off since the notification replaced the on-screen map.

The on-screen information is excellent easy to read and interpret.

The mounting hardware supplied with the unit is excellent in all respects.

The nuvi speaker audio is rather poor quality but the use of a cassette adapter with the car stereo is very good. (I have not tried to use the NUVIs FM output to the car radio but reviews say it is too lacking in power to be useful and my antenna is rear mounted.)

The NUVIs routing voice notifications are bit difficult to understand but they are much better than nothing; it requires getting used to.

Check to see if MS Direct information (trial version comes with the nuvi) is available in your area if you want this service. (It isn't in my area but seems to be available in most or all larger metropolitan areas.)

BESTEK 150w power inverter car dc 12v to 110v ac inverter dc adapter laptop charger notebook adapter

BESTEK 150w power inverter car dc 12v to 110v ac inverter dc adapter laptop charger notebook adapter dc charger ac adapter usb charger Dual USB 3.1A 1511CWell made and solid. I am using it to power some small motors like air compressors and electronics while camping. I am not sure if it will power larger equipment as it does run off the battery. Just to be safe I run the engine while I use the lamps and compressor.

I purchased this converter to power a uniden video monitor in my car. I'm using it as a baby car seat monitor. Since the monitor doesn't have the best battery life I need to have it plugged in all the time. It only came with an ac outlet charger. This converter worked like a charm. The fan is not loud and it slide right into my cars cig lighter. It's pretty large but not more then I expected. I also loved the fast shipping and feel very satisfied with my purchase. I appreciate a company that cares for their customers. That seems so rare these days.

Purchased for my 2000 Toyota 4Runner with 3 120W 12V outlets for use on long trips etc., based on positive reviews here. The 120V AC output of the charger works well for my Lenovo t61p and a friend's Toshiba Satellite laptops. I've used it for about 2 hrs since my purchase so far. Construction is of decent quality plastic and the product feels solid.

However, there are a few quirks you should be aware of. Minor, but nuisances nonetheless, and enough to subtract two stars from the rating.

1) The click-angle head of the product is weak. It cannot support the weight of the product outlet head and a plug at an upwards angle -it will creep downwards as you drive with your car's driving vibrations. The click head more or less holds its place when used horizontally.

2) The click-angle head's rotational range is narrow. The range or motion shown on the product picture is its maximum range of motion. Due to the adapter's large size, it may not fit your vehicle if the 12V outlet is right behind your shifter, etc.

3) The cooling fan is loud during operation, even when only using the USB outlets. The noise is bearable on the highway amongst highway vehicle noise (and my truck's on the loud side by today's standards), but the constant whine is unpleasant during street driving. You should purchase a separate adapter for dedicated use with USB devices. I think the noise is about equivalent to a vacuum cleaner behind a thick door or 2.

I would consider a corded inverter instead of this product for space use flexibility and placement muffling -the noise will be far less obnoxious say, under your legs than on the dash console; even if the other product is equivalently loud.

My Sony camera requires the use of a separate battery charger. However I needed the camera immediately and since I was leaving on a car trip, my only option was a car charger. That is where this little gem comes in play. I am now able to charge my camera, just as I do my phone, my gps and my mp3 player. When camping I realize that I can also use my air mattress pump. Handy device...and item was shipped immediately and received as advertised.

Kudo Solar Case with HDMI for iPad2 / iPad3 - Black

Kudo Solar Case with HDMI for iPad2 / iPad3 - BlackI was real excited about this product, and while I hate to say negative things, it is actually better for the environment if I post a negative review and less people buy, then return, the item. So, here are my thoughts:

The good:

-Obviously the solar panel is cool (see my notes below in the bad section though)

-Like that the case is made from recycled materials

-It comes with a free bag (which you have to order online from the manufacturer after you receive the case)

-HDMI out is awesome

-USB charging port is a plus

-Love that it has a smart cover feature to turn the ipad on/off

-Seems protective of the ipad, with perfect openings to access volume, power, camera.

The bad:

-It is HEAVY. Someone today told me their laptop is lighter. They were probably exaggerating, but not by much. This thing has some weight and lugging it around, or simply holding it in your hand, can get tiring.

-The retractable stainless steel leg stands, which you need to extend in order to have your case on a comfortable angle while viewing the ipad, are VERY DIFFICULT TO EXTEND WITHOUT THE ASSISTANCE OF A SHARP OBJECT. This was a deal breaker for me and the reason I am returning the case. I called the manufacturer, and they basically admitted the design flaw, with the customer service rep telling me he has to use a pen to retract the legs. Wow, major screw up there. I don't have a pen with me most of the times I want to use the ipad, and you absolutely need something like that to get the legs out. Bummer.

-The whistle locator is a great idea, but it doesn't work well. The case beeps at the sounds of things other than the whistle (e.g. my dog barking) and it only seems to beep when I whistle about 1/4 of the time, and only then if I am close to the ipad. Not really functional.

-The solar panel is so small that it really doesn't do much other than make you feel green. The instructions say you still have to plug the case in to charge it. Seems to defeat the purpose to me.

All in all, this is a "good" case, but for the steep price tag, it needs to be better than good. Lighter, more functional, with better viewing angles would get it there.

UPDATE: I've now had the case for one week. Using the iPad about 3-4 hours a day, the charge on the case's internal battery kept me going for about 2.5 days before the iPad started to drain power. This is nowhere near the manufacturer's claim (and I did fully cycle the battery the first time per the instructions). I am convinced the solar panel basically does nothing. The iPad sat in its case in direct sun today for about 45 minutes and the iPad charge did not go up at all, not even 1%!!! And now, the worst of all, my iPad (it is an iPad 2) will not lock into the case anymore, so even though I have recharged my case (by plugging it in), the iPad isn't benefiting from that at all when docked in the case. Really disappointed and it goes back on Monday.

The Kudo case is worth the money. It may not last 2 full weeks, but it does extend the use to at least a week without needing a recharge. It is perfect for those of us on the go and in meetings all day. The USB ability to charge your iphone off the case sold me immediately. I could care about the whistle as i dont intend on being that far away from my ipad. The legs are a tad tough to pull out but they do get easier to pull out over time. For the price of a standard case, a battery backup and hdmi out cables, this thing puts it all in one package. Totally cool and useful product.

When I first discovered this case I was excited. So I waited a week to get to my house and carefully read the single page instructions. A note the card is very limited and unfortunately they did not include the correct first time charging instructions in their single page instructions which can be found on their web site which ready:

1) First charge. Remove the iPad from the KudoCase and Charge each independently.

2) When charging with no iPad you will notice a blinking GREEN light on your Kudo® Case.

3) Once the light turns into a solid green the KudoCase is fully charged and you can insert your iPad and use as normal. *PLEASE NOTE THIS MAY TAKE SEVERAL HOURS (UPWARDS OF 8-10 DEPENDING ON BATTERY LEVEL) TO FULLY CHARGE. EVEN IF AFTER THAT AMOUNT OF TIME THE GREEN LIGHT IS STILL ILLUMINATED PROCEED DIRECTLY TO THE NEXT STEP.

4) Via NORMAL iPAD use, operate until you see the RED light beginning to blink, then REPEAT the steps above. *IT IS CRITICAL TO FULLY DEPLETE THE KUDO BATTERY AND THEN CHARGE BOTH AGAIN SEPARATELY TO COMPLETE THE CYCLING PROCESS - Congratulations, you have now "spanked" or cycled your battery!

5) From now on you can charge the KudoCase® and iPad(tm) as instructed on the enclosed Instruction Card.

***PLEASE NOTE THAT EVEN IF YOU HAVE AN iPAD 2, THE BATTERY IN YOUR KudoCase COULD ALSO BE IN NEED OF A GOOD OL' "SPANKING" AS WELL , SO DON'T BE SHY

Honesty it does not work as well as I hoped. I am putting it through the paces as I type. It seems to want to keep the ipad 3 charged at 100% all the time, even when the ipad is in sleep mode from the magnetic lock. The internal lithium battery still "trickle" charges the ipad even in sleep mode. Which kind of negates the idea of having a battery back up to extend battery life. It trickle charges all the time. So the iPad case lasts about 1-2 days and the it is dead, but your ipad is 100% charged, whatever that does for you. I use my ipad very heavily that I end up charging my ipad from +/-10% at the end of a day or two. The case is extremely heavy for a case at 1.7 pounds. So that now makes your ipad about the weight of a full fledged laptop. Also knowing that the case constantly charges whether in sleep mode or not hich makes the use of the external USB port not usable if the case's internal battery dies so quickly or always in use. This is even with my screen set to between 30%-50% brightness.

So traveling I let it sit in direct sunlight for about 3 hrs and the battery level never changed. It stayed at 3 blue pips, 4 blue pips indicates that the battery if fully charged. Discovering that the Kudos case constantly wants to keep your ipad charged at 100%. I assumed that if I turned off the ipad it would it would give the battery a chance to charge. It still stayed at 3 blue pips, after sitting in the sun for 3 hrs. All in all, I have to say that my ipad lasts roughly a day longer with the case then without it. Though, the HDMI feature is nice, but not really worth the added weight and the external USB port is kind of pointless of the battery won't keep it's charge or charge by the solar panel. Also, to keep in mind with since the ipad 3 is slightly thicker then ipad 2 it take a little effort to get the ipad 3 into the case but it will fit.

Overall idea is awesome that is it made from post recycled products and they give you a free case when you visit their website as long as you are willing to pay for shipping and handling with is about $6 bucks and they will plant a tree for you, but for what the product is claiming to do, it does not seem to make it. Maybe they will release a second generation that might vastly improve.

Buybits Ultimate Addons Angled Mini USB Direct to Battery Hard Wire Motorcycle Charging Cable for TomTom ONE, GO, XL & START
  • High quality direct to battery hardwire charging cable. Useful Right Angled Mini USB plug - suitable for TomTom GO series, ONE series, XL series & START GPS SatNav systems.
  • FUSED & WATERPROOF - designed for motorcycles. Incorporates an on/off power switch on the voltage regulator.
  • Unlike many hardwire cables which drain your battery's power while your bike is stored, our cable allows you to switch the current off when you want.
  • Use with TomTom, Garmin, Navman or any of the popular SatNav GPS systems which use a Mini USB connector.
  • Water resistant, cable length 3m, fused, 1A current, 6-24v, CE approved.

Bought the charger for my TomTom GO920. Installation took about 10 minutes and most of that was deciding exactly where to run the wires for a cleaner look. Took a little while to get delivered from the UK but I am happy with the product. Looks and feels like it is solid and weather tight. Great that it can handle various charger adapters. They even have a USB adapter and you can run most of your gadgets through that using your own plugs. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a gadget charger for their bike.

On the Buybits website they have a nice video of how simple this thing really is.

Although the SB-2106 Portable Power Supplier works, it has a very annoying flaw important to my intended use. The connectors provided for the power pack work but when using the power supply to my Garmin GPS, the design of the connectors proves to be very poor. I use the Garmin on a road bike and the multiple connectors and the spool and the plug and the power supply are bad because they are so cumbersome.

The two connectors required by your power supply plug into the Garmin stick out of the bottom in a very awkward way ( NOTE: the photo in you advertisement don't depict the two necessary connectors, the photo shows just a wire coming out of the Garmin). It would all work fine if it was just sitting on a table, but on a bike or in any portable use, it's a mess. It's just a matter of time before the multiple plugs get broken when hooked together into the GPS.

So, if you want to use this power supply on a bike, you will need to build a cable to attach it. A simple short cable, Garmin to Gomadic power supply is needed. I know, this was done for flexibility, but in the end it's not good for portable use.

I wouldn't recommend your device for cyclist use because of this connector design.

One issue people previously had with this product is that the mini-usb power connector was made of too brittle plastic and would break. This happened to me over the weekend. I sent them an email Sunday night and by Monday morning they had emailed me back asking my address to send replacement. Free of charge they rush shipped me two replacement mini-usb connectors wrapped in a new carry case. Sent Monday, arrived today (Wednesday). Wow!! Also the new mini-usb's sent to me are of the molded, more durable type so they have already updated their product.

This model (2000 mAH) will charge my Creative Zen 2gb mp3 player to full while I'm using it continuously and then still have about 3/4 of a charge leftover. Alternatively, I can get 2 full charges (as advertised) out of it if not using the player while charging. This may not be true of the lower power models. I looked at a lot at units like this before buying and every product seems to have complaints about how much juice it holds or quality of the battery. Obviously mileage may vary according to the device you're charging. This one is very attractive, well featured (has charge indicator, lots of connector tips, attractive carry case, car charger that also works for other devices etc.) and it works great. While it doesn't have a tip for my Samsung cell phone, I can use the standard USB receiver to connect it to my regular charger cord and it does a great job on that too. Only thing it needs is a belt clip or belt clip carry case. It does come with a spiral cord stretchy cable so it can go in your pocket and reach to wherever your player or phone is without sloppy cable to get caught on stuff.

Quality of battery seems excellent this company specializes in electric cars, handicap scooters, atv's etc so I'm confident in the quality of the battery. I highly recommend this product to anyone who's device needs a boost heavy music/audiobook listeners, cell phone talkers, campers & all day adventure sports types.

MAXSA Innovations 20026 Yellow with Yellow Reflective Safety Vest with 16 LED Lights, Large

MAXSA Innovations 20026 Yellow with Yellow Reflective Safety Vest with 16 LED Lights, Large
  • Be seen from up to 1 mile away
  • Lights can stay on continuously or flash 150 times per minute
  • Flexible band with hook and loop closures and lightweight mesh
  • Highly reflective fluorescent material
  • One size fits all and uses 2 AA batteries (not included)

I bought this vest to be seen while running in the dark, early morning hours here in the PacNW. When I first put it on and turned on the lights, my 5 year-old exclaimed with all the innocent admiration of a 5 year-old, "Mom! You look like a Christmas Tree!" This vest is so bright, it lights up the reflective street signs ahead of me. I figure if I get hit while wearing this vest, the driver meant to hit me, and my family can sue big time. I hope that it might also frighten away any of the larger wildlife that are resident in the area. On the down side, it is a little stiff, and for my small frame (size 6) a little large, even with everything in as snug as it can go. I had to sew the overlap at the sides in place so it would stay without flapping around. It took a couple of runs to get used to wearing it, but now it doesn't bother me. Anyway, it does the job very well--worth the money I spent, and I don't feel nervous about getting hit along the dark, rural roadways I run along.

I bought this vest because I like to run and I tend to do so after dark. Not only is it effective in letting drivers know where you are, it alse serves are a decent lantern if it is completely dark and you need to see where you're going so you don't twist an ankle.

The only issue I have with it is that it is a little bulky if you have a smaller frame. Also, while it is light weight, it's not weightless. It won't slow you down but it does take some getting used to if you are used to running unhindered.

Having such effective reflective gear is worth any damper this would put on your workout. Also, you can use it while Trick-or-Treating with the kids if they'll be seen with you. Your coolness level will take a serious dip when you are running around with the dorky flashing reflector vest, but hey, are you try to get a workout or be a fashion plate? Get over it and get on the road!

I ride my bike early in the morning to catch a bus to get to work. There is one stretch of road that has no bike lanes, and no lights. Before wearing this vest the cars would go around me like they do in daylight. After putting on the vest, the cars started going clear across the white line to clear me.

There is no way the drivers can miss you.

Used it three times & loved it! However, last use was in the rain, and the vest lights became intermittent after an hour, and finally died after 90 minutes. Replaced the batteries after it dried out, but the lights have not worked since. Must have shorted out somewhere. Battery box is sealed, so issue must be in the wiring. Disappointing, since the vest worked so well at first.

I've been using this vest for the past month in partial darkness, and now that the time has changed, I use it in complete darkness. I've tried reflector vests and attachable lights before, but this is so much better. It is a little large like some people said, but that will be good for the winter months if I have to put a coat under it. It looks a little silly, but the important thing is you can run in the dark and you are clearly visible. If you run in complete darkness like me, it alos helps light up the road a little. This was a great investment! My husband and I both use it several times a week. It also has a pocket for a cell phone. I put mace in that pocket and carry my cell phone, but either way it is useful. I had no problems adjusting to it, and my husband said it took him 2 or 3 runs to get used to it.

Kudo Solar Case with HDMI for iPad2 / iPad3 - Blue

Kudo Solar Case with HDMI for iPad2 / iPad3 - BlueAs an original participant through the Kickstart program, I have used both the original LilyPad and the subsequent Kudo Pad. Because I received a copy before they went public, I have had mine for several months. I have the light blue case, and find that it looks nice, and holds up well, in spite of the many hours I have spent using it.

Without the case, my normal usage on my heavily used iPad is only about 5 hours. As the pastor of three churches, my iPad IS my office, and I very much need it constantly. Prior to having the Kudo, I would have to have my iPad on a charger for much of the day.

My usage with the Kudo case varies, based on what I am doing, but it is always a minimum of 2 1/2 days. This includes about an hour of movie watching per day, and a significant number of hours doing research on the Internet, plus using Bluetooth accessories, and a few games of scrabble each day.

However, on a recent trip, I strictly used my iPad for audiobooks, about 12 hours per day. Since I didn't have WIFI, I had it on airplane mode. During the trip, it sat on the seat next to me, in the sunshine. After 2 1/2 days of travel, both iPad and case were still at 100%.

The good:

The case totally encloses the iPad. I have actually accidentally dropped my iPad on more than one occasion, and was very grateful for the case. It is a piece of armor!

The length of time it stays charged, especially when I have loads of sunshine

The fact that it charges my iPad while I use it

Very good magnetic cover works well

Made with recycled materials

If I have a cord along, I can use it to charge my iPhone.

The not so good

It is not an easy stand to deal with. OK for widescreen, not so good for reading

A bit heavy it doubles the weight of the iPad

After a few months of use, one of the legs broke

When the cover is closed, and you are using the iPad, it does not charge (or anytime it is locked)

So why do I give it five stars? Because I have found nothing better. It protects and charges my iPad without wires, and I never, ever, have to worry about it.

Every Sunday morning, I put my iPad into the case and travel to three churches keeping all of my notes in front of me. During this time I drive 80 miles and conduct services at three churches. At the end of that time my case is down by 25% and my iPad is at 100%.

While I enjoy my 5700mAh External Battery Power Bank 360 Degrees Rotating Stand Case Holder for NEW iPad, iPad 2 3G Tablet, and Ipad 3 Purple, the mere fact that it requires a cord to connect the battery in the cover to the iPad makes it a bit more difficult. Still, it is a cheaper alternative if the cord isn't an issue, and it doubles the life of my iPad. I use it at home on days when my usage is lighter.

Your own usage will determine what works best for you, but I really do love mine. I am often stopped and asked about it by others, who are quite impressed by the look and concept.

Although it is a very expensive case it is worth its price. It is the best armor you can get and just very very solid. The solar cell works very well and even if u have the stand out and put your ipad on the cell it continues charging. I can pretty much walk around all day and the battery level will keep going up and up!!! also hdmi and other stuff works without problems :) some other nice things are that you get a bag with another solar cell for charging it inside the bag for free if you purchase this case, and a tree will be plantet in your name! The front of the case is made out of leather, what is also hard to see on the picture

Milton 1260 Battery-Starter Charging System Tester

Milton 1260 Battery-Starter Charging System Tester
  • Battery-Starter Charging System Tester
  • Battery tester is rated up to 1,000 cold cranking Amps for 6 and 12V batteries
  • Fast, easy test for excessive starter current draw
  • Also performs simple, overall check of charging system

I gave this Milton Industries model 1260 Battery Tester the lowest possible rating for three reasons: 1) poor load switching design, 2) poor calibration and, 2) poor Customer Service attitude (which reflects on the Company's attitude).

1) After having this tester for about a week and having tested 7 batteries the load switch failed. Removal and disassembly of this switch (after talking with Milton, see below) revealed that most of the internal plastic supporting material had severely melted. This was a DPST momentary rocker switch. It had no external or internal identification markings. Milton recommended replacement switch p/n: P10-2-1N from Toolsavings of Chicago. This new switch was similar but not exactly the same as the original part. It was identified as made by Arcolectric Corp with a 1551 part number. In Arcolectric's literature (see http://www.arcolectric.com/pdfs/RockerSwitches_199.pdf pp 26 & 27) this switch has a 20 amp at 24vdc rating. With the new switch installed I subsequently used the Tester to measure two different batteries while using a clamp-on DC Amp meter. I measured an average of 120 amps, or 60 amps per switch contact set (IF the load is equally distributed between the two contact sets). Conclusion: At least the replacement Load switch (and probably the original Load switch) is grossly underrated, by a factor of 1/3, for this application. Burnout of this switch is apparently a common occurrence since doing a search for battery testers on Amazon.com strangely also includes a listing for this 1260 switch.

2) I found that the analysis meter reads between 0.4 and 0.5 volts high (at 12.5 vdc when compared with three accurate digital voltmeters). This is an incredible amount of error when proper analysis requires a basic accuracy of 0.1 volt.

3) When I called Milton's Customer Service and said the Load switch quit working the person said "I must of had it on too long", i.e. it was the customer's fault for the problem. For each test I only had the switch on for the literature recommended 10 second test evaluation interval. If the company believes this is wrong then they should correct their written procedures. Additionally, I suggested that they could just send me a new switch since it looked like replacement of the switch would be an easy task, and that it would save us both time and money if I were to do the work. They wouldn't agree to do it that way, that instead I would have to send the unit back to them for warrantee service. Also, I found it interesting that none of the packaging or accompanying literature listed their phone number (toll free or otherwise). I had to find it by doing an internet search. Conclusion: This is not a customer friendly company.

Finally, in all fairness, I must say that I think that parts of the design are very good. The expanded scale meter is quite readable with clearly defined analysis colored areas. Also, the use of a separate set of wires within the two cables to the battery terminal clips is critical for properly measuring true battery voltage.

I had two Battery testers ,one was my old Snap On that I had for over 30 years , like a fool I sold it in a garage sale because I had bought a new MILTON 1260 tester, well after using the meter 2 times the load switch quit,a disassembly of the switch showed the little plastic contacts MELTED and the switch failed. Its funny that after using my Snap On all of these years Milton is saying that I held the switch on two long. The switch is under rated, a much heavier switch is needed, I will find my own replacement switch and repair it myself.IF I WERE TO DO IT AGAIN I WOULD NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT,IT HAS A VERY POOR LOAD SWITCH.

Had this tester for 2 years. Used the tester maybe a total of 10 times. After only minimal use the Load Switch failed. When I contacted Milton they we little or No help. Its a useful piece of equipment but rendered usless with a defective Load switch and Milton wanted nothing to do with correcting the problem.

Black Dual 12v Dc Double Car Cigarette Socket Adapter

Black Dual 12v Dc Double Car Cigarette Socket Adapter
  • 2 adapter sockets
  • LED indicator
  • 12v Compatible

This dual charger is OK for the low amp charging jobs like GPS, Bluetooth and Cellphone auto charging. However, give it a bigger job like an 8 amp draw mini moto air pump (for pumping air into the tires) and it blew this 12 Volt Two Way DC Car Charger into a smelly mess (along with my cig lighter fuse). FYI-The Scosche 12 volt twin adapter is the same as this one.

I just recieved this item and used it for about 4 hours before it overheated and stopped working. It cannot handle very much, so tread lightly.

I received the item very quickly as promised, no worries there. used the device for 1 week and 1 of the 2 sides stopped working. I did receive an email from the seller after advising my situation, I was impressed by the fast response. this may or may not have been a factory defect. Bottom line, is the unit broke, for whatever reason.

I got this product to charge my phone, use an FM transmitter and use a GPS system in any order. I have not had any problems of the unit overloading like the other reviewers have described. I would just use caution before plugging in anything that draws a lot of power. One thing you need to consider is that it may need to be positioned vertically as in my car it blocks the stick shift. But not a big deal. Overall a good deal and get the job done.

It works perfectly. In my all three car. While going to road trip, this is very helpful. while charging GPS, I will charge my iphone.

Progressive Dynamics PD9105V Lead Acid Battery Charge Wizard

Progressive Dynamics PD9105V Lead Acid Battery Charge Wizard
  • Size: 2 inchL x 2 inchW x 3/4 inchH
  • Cable Length: 6 feet
  • Feedback: Charge status indicator light
  • Activation Switch: Automatic with manual override button

This wizard works great and is absolutely easy to install provided you know how to use a small screwdriver and plug it in.

I love how it conditions my RV batteries and will help extend their live. I couldn't be happier with this product and my only complaint is that it should have been stock with my RV charger ;-)

Like so many others, our 2004 motorhome came equipped with the "dumb" (set voltage) charging program built into their standard converter, which provides 12-volt DC current to the coach when plugged into shore power as well as charging for the house battery bank.

When I had to replace the house batteries recently I decided to go for Trojan T-105's, and wanted to provide a better charging profile to help them work better and last longer. Our camping experience to-date had not supported a need for an inverter (which typically come with an advanced multi-stage charging program), so I was curious about an alternative to just buying a new "smart" charger.

Progressive Dynamics offers this line of "Wizard" plug-ins as an after-market application to enhance the charging capability of their popular converters (why, for such a relatively small expense they don't just make it part of the OEM package, I have no idea...I guess the RV builders just prefer to trim the few extra bucks from their building costs). Plugging it into a port in the converter changes it from a single stage charger to a three stage, with a "float" mode and a "boost" and "desulfation" mode (the last kicks in for 15 minutes every 21 hours).

The charging profile does not exactly match Trojan's recommendations, but it's a lot closer than the stock converter. Hook-up is plug-and-play, but the plug is fairly large, so, like in my case, because I wanted to mount the Wizard inside the coach, I had to cut the plug off and then splice it back on to prevent having to drill overly large holes in my cabinetry (and the cord is only about 36" long). But with the device inside, I can monitor the tell-tale diode that blinks at different rates to let you know which mode the charger is using, and if I feel I need to manually change to a different charge rate, I can do that with the button on the face of the Wizard.

Again, not perfect, but a pretty convenient (albeit compromise) solution for a little bit of cost.

As a footnote, over the winter I left the motorhome at a campsite in Florida, where it sat plugged in but unattended for a couple of periods of 3 and 4 weeks at a stretch, and when I got back the batteries were fully charged and had not lost a measurable amount of water. That's not too bad, in my opinion.

Installed this last winter, simple installation and seems to be working as advertised. Previous owner of RV said to disconnect the batteries when not using it or they would boil and go bad. Since installing I keep them hooked up and the RV plugged in 24 / 7 with no issues.

Great product . . .does exactly what it says it will do. Saved the cost of purchasing a new (and more advanced) charger/converter. For the price, I can't understand why Progressive Dynamics does not just build it into their 9100 series chargres/converters. EASY to install . . . just remove 1 screw, plug it in, and replace the screw.

Fast shipping; as described; good packing. One problem is that the CW has a non-detachable plug many times larger than the cable; if you want to thread it through a 1/4" panel hole, then you need to cut and re-splice the cable. I would have loved to X-ray the sealed case, as I suspect that all the CW contains is a switch and an LED, which would make it rather over-priced. Still, it's nice to have a blinky light that remotely tells you the charger is really working.
