Power Bright VC750W Voltage Transformer 750 Watt Step Up/Down 110 Volt - 220 Volt

Power Bright VC750W Voltage Transformer 750 Watt Step Up/Down 110 Volt - 220 VoltI have both this 750 watt model and a 200 watt model. They both do their jobs fine, consistently doubling my household voltage as measured with a multimeter. I have products that I purchased overseas and this was the simplest way to keep using them. I have not used these abroad to step voltage down. Inside, there really is not too much to the units. You select the input voltage on the rear (thus bridging that circuit) and then it all goes to the windings and then to the front receptacles. My 750 watt model had the light on the power switch fail on the first day, but this is a non-issue for me. It probably got jostled in shipping but it is not worth returning. And I don't think there is going to be a whole lot of variation among competing transformers that use the same technology. Indeed, the Chinese produced transformers appear to have largely the same design, though with different printing on the front. With free shipping (since these are heavy little boxes) and the lowest price among its competitors, this was a good deal.

I moved from the UK to the US a couple of years ago and when I first came over I didn't want to replace everything which ran on 240V instead of the 110V over here. This was a great unit for the price and coped well with everything from vacuum cleaners to stereo systems, dvd players and everything inbetween. Mine is still going strong and I find it a very useful unit.

I purchased this transformer before returning to the UK where I wanted to use some US 110V products. The input lead is fitted with a US three pin plug which I changed for a standard UK three pin plug, the input lead was UK standard, Brown Live, Blue Neutral, Green/Yellow Ground. Plugged in a US extension lead and there was a big bang and the lights went out. Luckily nothing was damaged.

Checks showed that Live to Neutral was OK at 110Volts, but Neutal to Ground at the output measured 240 Volts.

The (apparently) UK input lead had neutral and live crossed so watch out! Once corrected the unit works OK.

Two other transformers I bought with different power ratings, 200 and 500 Watt were exactly the same.

Just received the unit via Federal Express.

I opened the box and immediately noticed the un-raveled electrical cord. I then removed the unit itself from the product box & plastic bag/sleeve and immediately noticed scratches on the top of the unit.

I further inspected the unit and discovered additional scratches along with dents, obvious dust/caked dust in corners and previous wear and use markings.

There was also a plethora of smudges and finger prints.

This unit is not new and seems to be previously used, refurbished or a floor model. I wish this information would have been disclosed prior to my purchasing this item. This is UNACCEPTABLE and I am quite displeased with this Amazon.com purchase.

NOTE: I will provide additional comments once I use and test the quality of this unit.

I purchased this transformer for my time deployed to Iraq, and it works extremely well. I have it hooked up to a coffee maker, and even though the transformer's fuse is rated at 7 or 8 amps, the 10 amp coffee maker still functions soundly with this transformer. That may be a plus or minus depending on your personal application, but for my needs this couldn't be better. Inexpensive, good build quality, and I am a satisfied customer.

Surprised how well this battery pulsing technology works. Brought back my battery from a situation where it would be empty after 2-3 days, to where it steadily holds a charge on its own now.

It doesn't work. I tried this on the battery that I was trying to revive. I followed the directions. I first plugged it into an AC outlet. The status lights came on, so it looked like it was working. Made the connections correctly, and all the lights just go out. The instructions say the 'battery' light should stay on, and the 'status' light is supposed to flash while charging. So I thought that maybe it just needs the battery to be juiced a little to get it charging so I get the car started, run it for awhile, shut it down and tried the charger again. Same thing--nothing. And nothing wrong with the car's charging system. So I tried it on my other car that has a good battery to see if it recognizes the battery and shows float charging. It didn't. This time, just the 'battery' light flashes, and my interior dome light starts flashing. Go figure. Also, the product description claims no sparking . Wrong, this thing sparks like crazy when connecting/disconnecting. And they charge 90 bucks for this charger? It will be going back.

A previous 6 ft cable from another vendor failed after 6 months of light use.

This sync cable is convenient and working fine. I like a different colored cable to distinguish between different watt chargers which are hidden under furniture.

I say it's very good because I only had this product for 2 weeks, but this product is better than getting it from the apple store, product and price wise. My last cable, the one that comes with the iphone4, only lived for 6 months because the connection between the charger and the cord was wearing internally so it failed to connect to my phone. This company guarantees a 2 yr warranty which I feel shows their confidence in their product, and the cord is more thicker and feels more sturdy and since I have a silicon case, charging is no problem.

Finally a cable that our cats won't chew. Connector assembly is as sturdy as apple products. Wire is very stiff and does not stay straight but I can live with that.

I purchased this after my short, factory-supplied Ipad cord bit the dust from being stretched/bent too many times. This one is longer and sturdier. I keep my Ipad in a leather case, and although the piece that fits into the Ipad is a tad bit larger, it slides in with no problem. I've had it for a couple of weeks now and so far am completely happy with the product.

PowerDrive RPPI200C 200-Watt DC to AC Power Inverter with Cup Holder Design, USB Port, and 2 AC Outl

This appears to me to be the same BC209 as the more expensive all yellow version. This one is advertised as a maintainer but the directions and box refer to it as a maintainer/charger just like the yellow version. The paperwork is dated 2011 so it is a up to date model. I bought this to maintain my starting battery in my motor home while in storage which is most of the time. The "house" charger in the motor home only maintains the house battery (not the starting battery)so I was going through starting batteries way too fast from lack of use. The charger does exactly what I wanted which is slow charge then maintain the battery level. The included plug adapters are all nice quality. I chose to use the cigarette lighter adapter and it works great. The light indicates when it is charging and when it is charged. The unit runs without making any noise at all. I actually put my ear to the box and could barely hear a slight hum. From 1 inch away you can't hear a thing! Also there is no odor from the unit either. I could not be happier and highly recommend this product. Now when it is time to travel I can just start her up and go!

Stanley BC209 Battery Maintainer

Im currently trying a Stanley BC209 (black case)trickle charger I bought in the past few months & so far I like the flashing LED for charging & a solid light for charged.

The cables are rather long (good or bad depending on use) but does have a detachable (from the batt) plug.

Its very versatile with its 3 outputs & 3 mounting options.

OTHERs I used (BELOW)

The Schumacher & the Sears chargers look the same in every way EXCEPT for the brand sticker.

Ive had both (2) so called different brands to stop working (with-in 5-10years) but still have a 3rd charger that is still working(in-which was my newest).

I had 2 permanently mounted, 1 in my boat, 1 on my lawnmower & the 3rd one I made removable from my jet-ski.

As for the short cables (AC & DC sides) I liked & disliked the lengths depending on the mounting location LoL.

Over time things I noticed was;

1)one half of the plastic had cracked in half on the one on my lawnmower.

The green LED was on & the red LED would just flash & not charge.

2)the green LED stayed on but would not charge (no steady red light) on the one in my boat.

I read in the reviews about someone not loosing fluid level in there battery from charging BUT I noticed (over like 2 winters) I would have to top off the fluid levels back off in the battery's the following spring ("in which was normal").

I ended up using a timer to activate my chargers through the night to try & reduce this fluid level drop but did notice when I dropped power the green LED would stay lit using the batteries power.

  • LCD Menu Operations , Dual Frequency Display, only use 1 x antenna
  • LED Flashlight,Hight /Low Power Switchable
  • Emergency Alert,Low Battery Alert,Battery Saver
  • Time-out Timer,Keypad Lock,Monitor Channel

this series of Baofeng dual-band HTs are worth every penny, even considering their faults...

this HT can use (with a slight mod) the Yaesu VX3R AA battery adapter... however, the Li-Ion battery, an NP60 clone, is available for little under $3 nearly everywhere... i charge my UV-3R using my PC or a GoalZero Nomad 7 solar panel with a homebrew USB->Radio Shack Power Adapter tip, size 'A' 4.5V at 500 or 1000 ma works just fine (remember: tip NEGATIVE! [which is opposite most industry chargers, which use a positive tip])

scrap the included external charger it's worthless instead, use the internal charging circuitry of the UV-3R much safer...

some units don't like the included ear/mic, although a toroid wrap can help

there are variations of the UV-3R; single freq display Mark I w/18 menu items, dual freq display Mark II w/19 menu items and wired AC charger, or dual freq display Mark II w/19 menu items and AC/USB charger

a programming cable is about a Hamilton and so is a 4-sleeve mic (use any VX3R-compatible mic)

you can use the Baofeng software or the multiple platform CHIRP programming software (i use CHIRP w/Mac OS X 10.5.8, or the Baofend Windows software under OS X using Crossover); complaints about USB connections are usually by fools using Software from Satan(tm) who don't know how to install USB drivers; normal users should have no problem

these HTs should give Motorola/Vertex, ICOM, and Kenwood a good case of fishcakes in the pants, 'cause they're a great deal why spend hundreds on an expensive handie talkie when you can get one for less than the cost of a happy hour?

Parrot MINIKIT Smart Bluetooth Hands-Free Kit with Holder for Smartphone

Parrot MINIKIT Smart Bluetooth Hands-Free Kit with Holder for SmartphoneFrom start to finish, I completed set-up within 45 minutes. It was not the easiest system to use, but if you're slightly technologically minded or stubborn, you'll be able to do it without too much problem. Setting up so it recognized my contacts via voice command was the longest part of the process. Overall, it's great in the car (voice recognition works well, the caller can hear well, decent call projection); it's helpful for using the phone navigation (mounted on dash instead of in my hand or precariously placed on dashboard), and it projects the voice directions; and it charges your phone while driving, so you don't have to worry about running out of battery on long calls or for a long navigational drive.

I tested with two HTC Touch phones and an iPhone. All worked equally well with the exception of an inability to automatically export contacts from the older HTC Touch.

You'll want to keep their main website handy in order to address questions. The manual is all but useless. In fact, I found that using the page and clicking on your phone will give you hints in how to correctly set it up if you are having difficulty.

Summary:

Pros:

* Relatively fast charge (1.5 hours from my computer USB port, while I was playing with the system).

* Adhered to my windshield better than any of the GPS tools

* If your phone automatically exports contacts, the set-up is super easy (iPhone). See "cons" if your phone does not.

* Bluetooth works well callers were able to hear me.

* Background noise reduction works pretty well. You can tell that you're in the car, but it doesn't have the same level of road noise that my Motorola in-ear bluetooth does, or the wired connection.

* Voice recognition was good. It correctly dialed 93% of the the numbers I tested. The voice that repeats who the phone is calling is a little odd, though very mechanised.

* You can pair up to 10 phones with this system. I tested 3 with no problem.

* Includes regular and mini-USB connectors.

* If worried about extensive exposure to radiation, keeps the phone and bluetooth away from your head.

* Includes a car charger with a USB connection useful for more devices than just this one!

Cons:

* The enclosed manual really stinks. It basically only covers set-up, but not the functionality. You have to want to play with with the system to see all the bells and whistles. That also means that you can't say, "How do I do 'x'?" and look it up. They attribute it to being "green" and send you online, but that manual isn't much better. It also requires being somewhere you can access the internet in order to properly set it up (e.g. if you purchase from a b&m store, and try to set it up in your car, good luck!)

* They refer you to the website to see if your smart phone is compatible. However, there is no "compatible" option from their menu I was unable to locate one from their main page or using the smart function. I needed to Google "parrot phone compatibility" to get the page:

* Occasionally, it does dial incorrectly using the voice function. However, it is easy and fast to cancel *if* you are paying attention to the number that is being dialed.

* If your phone is older and not set up to automatically sync contacts, you may need to export them one at a time. I had to do that with an older HTC phone I tested.

* It allows you to scroll through your phonebook in alphabetical order, saying the name of the contact in case you're not sure how you named them.

* Comes with a detachable microphone and a clip that you can pin to the visor for better sound.

* Really needs a case to keep it all together. The online manual suggests that if the swivel that holds the phone feels loose to use the attached Allen wrench to tighten it. It's a small wrench and could easily be lost. While we have many size Allen wrenches in our house (thanks Ikea!), I've never used one that has such a small diameter and wouldn't have anything that would replace it.

Best for those:

* driving cars without bluetooth ability allows hands-free calling.

* who want to use their GPS functions without having to hold the phone in their hand and keep their phone charged

I received the Parrot Minikit for free via the Vine program. It's a device I would not have purchased on my own, but now that I've used it, I love it and think it's brilliant. I still knock it down a star for the unhelpful manual and difficulty in navigating their main site. I'll certainly be continuing to use this nifty device and am likely to purchase one for my parents to use.

I'm still looking for the right solution for me, having recently moved to a state with a hands-free law. I don't think this will ultimately be the one for me, though. The speaker is good, even if it could have been a bit louder for me. I drive an SUV, and the sound level in the cockpit isn't as low as in most sedans.

There is no manual other than a quick-start guide, which isn't nearly clear enough in my opinion. It reminds me of a cross between Ikea instructions and the set-up brochure you get with most computer games. The detachable microphone is a great idea, but it was confusing for me personally. The guide just shows a picture of drawing of the microphone already several inches from the base and attached by a wire. It took me several minutes of searching the box to realize that no microphone was with all the cables they included. I then took several more minutes to realize that the microphone is attached to the base already by a retractable wire. You have to pull the mic (which is on the side of the base across from the power connections) and pull it to unwind the cable.

For me, the biggest drawback is partly my own fault, though. I'm rough on phones, so I bought the OtterBox Defender Case iPhone 4 (Blue/Black, Fits AT&T iPhone 4). Unfortunately, that adds a good deal to the dimensions of my phone. The clip they use to adjust the fit for phones is a great idea, but it isn't quite expandable enough. to get my phone in, it's an extremely tight fit, and I have to drag it hard against the bottom layer of padding to do so. This foam padding isn't going to hold up to that kind of abuse for long, I'm afraid.

So, If you're tech savvy, have a phone smaller than the Otterbox Defender, and drive a quieter car than an SUV, this should be a great solution. For me, I'll keep looking.

Buy Parrot MINIKIT Smart Bluetooth Hands-Free Kit with Holder for Smartphone Now

It looks like a good idea, if you don't like headsets and/or can't pony up for one of Parrot's completely integrated systems. The kit comes with almost everything you need, the missing part based on which phone you have. My Sprint Samsung Epic was good to go, but iPhone owners and any others with a phone that doesn't use a standard mini/micro USB connector will have to bring their own charging cable. The mount is sturdy and allows the cradle to detach so you can store it away when not in use. The cradle itself holds my phone nice and tightly, with no worries of it falling out and hitting the floor while driving. The mic on a string design leaves something to be desired, and could potentially be an easy point of failure, (mount loses its grip and falls, retractor breaks, object gets snagged on the cable, etc).

It's advertised as working with any smartphone, but the manual clearly states that if it doesn't work with your phone that you should check the compatibility list. On my phone though everything went fine, Pairing it with my phone and syncing the contacts was no problem. Using the voice commands to make calls was hit and miss, requiring some retraining of the Minikit to get it to work more consistently. The little green and red LED lights that denote which button is which don't stay on while the unit is powered on, which can make hitting the right button and knowing if it is on or off confusing. I found myself just leaving it plugged in and on all the time, not relying on the battery power whatsoever.

Finding a spot in my minivan to install the Minikit that was within reach, did not break the law, and was convenient for GPS use took a little time, but I eventually found one. The mic was installed along the top of the instrument cluster, directly in front of the driver's seat. According to the User's Guide, this was the ideal area. During road trials, I found it a bit difficult to hear the Minikit at highway speeds (windows rolled up, no music, no fan blowing), but around town it was just fine. As an alternate, I may try plugging my phone's audio into the car stereo and see how that goes. Results from the people I was calling were hit and miss, some saying that they could hear me fine, which others I had to shout at.

When it's all said and done, I am not sure the Parrot Minikit Smart was the best option, compared with Parrot's integrated products that can be had in the same price range (CK3100, CK3000, and CK3200). It does fulfill a need though, and works well enough. Using with my phone for charging and navigation is a sure plus, and would be more so if it were louder. I'd just prefer the cleaner look of the integrated parts and their ability to tap directly into my van's sound system.

I LOVE THIS MACHINE. The sound quality is pure and clear. This is the ONLY device I have ever used that doesn't bother my callers. (Didn't that sound romantic and old fashioned? It's also 90% untrue, as I make most of my phone calls while I am in the car.) I have some devices that some of my more picky friends (Reg!) don't like and others that no one likes. Since my neck injury a couple of years ago, I find it almost impossible to use a cell phone holding it next to my ear. I can't capture it in my shoulder very well either. It kind of leaves me in an awkward position.

Another benefit of this machine in this time of not including anything extra in packages, (I once received an iPod without any kind of power cord), is that it comes with a bunch of cords for every possible use. It was like finding the jackpot of connections. I can charge this with devices I don't even own!

The problem? I find that I don't carry it anywhere. It's too heavy. It's like putting a brick in your purse.

On the other hand, you always know if you remembered your phone and speaker phone or not. And it turns a purse into a great weapon.

Want Parrot MINIKIT Smart Bluetooth Hands-Free Kit with Holder for Smartphone Discount?

I was pretty excited to finally get bluetooth in my car. The unit feels pretty solid and has a quality feel to it.

The included instruction manual is a complete joke. It barely covers basic functionality of the unit, but nothing in any great detail. Which button do I hit? What does the red and green mean? How do I connect? None of these questions were answered with any detail in the manual. I eventually had to google a manual in more detail to learn how to use this kit. And I'm already a tech savvy person can't imagine how the average user will figure this out!

Once I got my phone synced (that took more time looking on their website to see if my phone was compatible), it worked well for the most part. I still accidentally call and hang up on people, mainly because there's only one main button that controls everything. If you press a long while, it does one thing if you press briefly, it does something else. Frustrating to use, especially while driving!

The sound quality was mediocre. At low speeds, I could hear the caller pretty well. On the highway, however, at max volumes I was still constantly saying "what'd you say?". It just doesn't get very loud, so if you do a lot of highway driving, stay away from this unit.

Callers said my voice sounded good, however, and had no complaints about the sound quality. It is SO nice not to have to fumble with a phone while driving!

RCA RPD663 Mobile Sound System for iPad

RCA RPD663 Mobile Sound System for iPad
  • Dock for iPad - plays and charges your iPad
  • Ideal for home and mobile use
  • Wireless headphones included
  • Built-in stereo speakers - low-profile, full-range
  • Headrest mounting kit and DC power adapter - for mobile use

This RCA Mobile Sound System for iPad is really a clever device for use in the car or at home. It works with all three versions of the iPad. The kids can watch movies on your iPad on the long car trips without having to hold it (and potentially delete apps!) It also keeps the iPad charged so the battery won't be dead when you arrive at your destination. The wireless headphones sound great and make private listening in the car cord-free.

For use in the car, it has a very sturdy metal and plastic bracket that mounts to the headrest with velcro straps. The dock then clips in and out of the bracket very easily. The iPad can be slid into the dock either before or after it's attached to the headrest bracket. The 12V power cord plugs into the dock to provide power to the iPad and the built-in speakers on the dock. The wireless headphones run on batteries and automatically turn off when they don't detect any sound transmission for a period of time. Great feature!

When we're not using it in the car, we keep it on the kitchen counter as a charging station for the iPad. It has a little flip-out stand to hold it upright and it takes up very little counter space. The built in speakers also sound great for listening to music from the iPad, or even for watching Netflix while cooking or eating.

Highly recommended accessory for your iPad!

I like the flexibility and portablility of this product. Like that I can play it indoors on regular AC and in the car as a A/V player using the adaptor. The headphones are an added plus.

Kawasaki 840107 Black 18-Volt 20-Piece Cordless Drill Kit

Kawasaki 840107 Black 18-Volt 20-Piece Cordless Drill Kit
  • Comfortable no slip matte grip
  • 3/8" keyless chuck
  • 25 torque settings to match power to job
  • Built-in bubble level
  • Includes 15 piece accessory set

This drill is a waste of money, picked it up approx. 1 year ago at a costco for around $39, seemed like a good deal, came with two batteries and a charger. I believe this drill is made by Alltrade, with a kawasaki label. This tool has been used little and is pathetic, batteries, both of them last a very short time, clutch is already slipping, my 14 y/o 9.6v Makita has seen much battle and still performs far superior to this tool. I have recently switched to using Ryobi and the one + system, which I have been very happy with, you can interchange the 18V batteries Ni Cd or lithium with any tools in the 18V range. Just completed a 700 sq ft deck project using the Ryobi impact driver, absolutely brilliant tool, tons of power and with 2 batteries, never had down time. Bottom line, do not waste your money, Ryobi is not a high end, maybe a little more, but far superior to this piece of junk.

I purchased a model 841412 (just like this model on Amazon but different model number) about a year ago. Recently, I put the battery on the charger so that I could finally use the drill. At 3:00 a.m. a few mornings ago, I was awakened by a very loud explosion noise. Upon investigation, I found pieces of the battery pack all over the room, along with heavy black soot, a couple of valuable household items that had been shattered, and other pieces of plastic scattered as far away as 15 feet! I am SO thankful that no one was in the room when this thing blew up. Be very aware that this brand and company have a dangerous product out there. Bought mine at Costco and I'm sure they will make it good, but am attempting to contact the company for some additional money for damages and/or returning of this drill "Bomb" for thier own internal investigation; if they even care about the incident. Wish I had read the reviews before picking this up, but now maybe I can help some others who run across a so-called deal on this drill. Like someone else said here...."Don't do it!".

I have owned one of these drills before and it works like a champ. The weight and balance is perfect for a woman and it's easy to find, due to it's green accents, in the bottom of the tool bucket or in a pile of other stuff. So I thought I'd buy another one but within a couple of uses the battery charger got hot, started to smell and wouldn't charge the battery. It's just too hard to find a new charger without going on-line so I opted to return it and go with something that's available in my local hardware store.

It's a great drill and if I could get a reliable charger I'd keep it.

If I had known this drill was going to die so quickly I would have never bought it. Ok for very small jobs but don't expect it to maintain power long enough to even install a shelf

Battery works short time must be recharged very often.

Drill is weak rather as 14 V than 18.0 V

Finally after 4 month of using power supply stoped charge the battery.

UPG 87501 20-Watt Mono-Crystalline Solar Panel

UPG 87501 20-Watt Mono-Crystalline Solar Panelthe UPG Solar panel is very good quality and most of all it works flawlessly its a fast charger. I would recommend the sun-force charge controller for protection.

Good energy producers for my solar lighting projects but the frame seems kind of weak. I reinforced the framework due to the fact that the number one failure with solar panels is the mounting (wind protection).

I would of given this product 5 stars however it needs the true test of longevity to get 5 stars. Its a good product at a DECENT price. I suggest people buy this product VS the goal zero panels for versatility applications.

I bought this for my husband who works for a delivery company. The trucks do not have a lighter to plug in your GPS so I bought this for him to use and it is said to work when he needs it.
