I am extremely surprised to find out people are actually happy with this thing! To say it's cheap is an understatement. It is made completely out of very cheap plastic, very cheesy that is almost like a toy out of a cereal box (and that's no exaggeration!). But that aside, the important thing was if it worked.

I bought this in a package deal with other accessories (cases, cig lighter chargers, charging adapters, etc), but mainly wanted it for the FM transmitter. I put the needed batteries in and programmed the channels in and then set it down to plug in my ipod. It then 'blanked out' and I had to reprogram it all over again.

So I tried it with the car lighter adapter and it was worse! Every time you even touch it, it would blank out.....I couldn't even get a channel programmed before it would blank out again, so it was impossible to even plug my ipod in it to try it!

So the most stable way to use it was to put the batteries back it. Again, I kept having problems with it blanking out, but did finally get to use it and the quality was pretty good, but having it constantly blanking out almost renders it useless!!

Yes, the price is cheap............but the quality is VERY,VERY POOR and what good is it if it's almost completely useless!! I would recommend spending even just a few bucks more to spare yourself a LOT of frustration and try a different one that is actually useable.

I purchased this device for an iPod Touch and a car without an auxiliary jack or USB port. The price is the best out there but there is a certain amount of truth to that bit about getting what you pay for. The sound is rather muffled so that I am turning up the iPod as high as it can go and I'm still towards the high end of the stereo. I have yet to see volume control on the device itself that I suppose could correct the problem. As one other review mentioned, there are no directions in the package.

It works better than what I had before (nothing) but for someone who is really looking for quality sound as the end result, you need another device.

This is a great transmitter for the money. I only paid about $6 for it and it works perfectly. I can use it throughout the house. You can use it with anything with a headphone jack and choose any station to play on. Don't buy the expensive transmitters unless you want something specifically made for iPod.

First, as far as I can tell, the USB port on this transmitter does NOT charge a device (at least not my iPod Touch).

While the adjustability of FM stations (in .1 increments 87.5 108.0) is a great feature, a couple design errors prevent this transmitter from being amazing. After I wrote the vendor I purchased from, they send me another. Comparing the two leads me to believe that the same issues probably plague most of the units.

The cigarette lighter adapter included did not fit snugly on the first unit I received. Any minor jostling or moving the device would cause it to lose power. The second unit has a somewhat better fit, making the car adapter usable. While batteries are an option, they are drained quite quickly (within a day or two) while the unit is off. Having 10 present stations is a nice feature, but the stations are not remembered if batteries are removed or the cable is unplugged.

As a transmitter, it works fine. The huge range of adjustability means that it is easy to find a (relatively) open FM channel. Plugging in a USB cable led to substantial distortion on the second unit I received.

Conclusion? For significantly less than other transmitters, this one may provide a great value if you are willing to put up with some quirks (and if having a useless USB port doesn't bother you).

I paid virtually nothing for this FM transmitter, and I got what i paid for. When it's working, it works well (see below). On some long road trips, i've discovered that the transmitter was actually strong enough to overpower local radio stations--a big bonus! I have had no problems at all using this in big cities with lots of radio clutter. The cord from the transmitter to the headphone jack is a few inches shorter than I would've liked, but you can make it work.

The transmitter works 98% of the time. But 1% of the time it "purrs" at you, and 1% of the time it violently (and loudly) "hiccups." The "purring" isn't too disturbing, but the "hiccups" can be quite jarring in the middle of a song. If i had to do it over again, i would get a different transmitter.

I did not purchase this product from Amazon, but it's so terrible I wanted to let people know not to buy it. In less than 3 months too late to return it to the store one of the outlet prongs broke right off. I stuck it back in and wrapped packing tape around it so I could still use it. A week later, the other prong broke off. Both prongs were stuck in the electrical outlet and I had to carefully remove them so I didn't electrocute myself. I paid just over $30 for this piece of trash. For $10 more, I could have purchased the Apple version.

I bought mine from Marshall's and it's new so I don't know if it will last but... It does what I wanted to which is charge an iPad and iPhone at the same time. Most dual port chargers won't do this but this one did without complaint. I'm happy so far.

I've been waiting for someone to come out with this exact product. I got this because I often use my cell phone for music, route tracking, and to make and receive calls while I'm out on long bike rides, skiing, or just away from the house. The thought has often occurred to me, when I've been especially far away from other people, that the battery in my phone is kind of a critical resource to be wasting on Pandora or other applications that drain the battery quickly. I worried that my battery would be near dead on the exact occasion that I had some emergency come up, and would be unable to use my phone when I needed it. This battery is the exact solution I needed to stop this attack on my piece of mind.

Versatile. The use of a USB port for power-output and for charging on this device means that it works with pretty much every device I own. Android phones, iPods, portable wifi hotspots, Bluetooth headsets, all can be charged from this battery, and it can either be recharged from the wall, the car, or even from your laptop's battery.

Portable. I love the compact size of this battery. I had considered getting the 4000mAh version, but am glad that I opted for this one. It doesn't provide as much power as the bigger unit, but considering how compact it is, the trade-off is worth it for my purposes.

Durable. Although plastic, this battery seems very well made and is very durable. I don't think there will be any problem with it surviving in my ski coat or Camelback.

Power. I got about half a charge onto my Motorola Triumph Android phone when I charged it from zero as a test. Based on that, and the 1000mAh rating, think that half a charge is about what you can expect for this one on most smartphones. Enough for an emergency, or to prolong your phones life, but not enough to give you a full recharge.

I recommend this battery for its stated purpose. If you need something with more power, consider the 4000 mAh version.

(2008 HOLIDAY TEAM) UPDATE: After a little over six weeks, Belkin replaced my broken Power Pack. I fully charged it overnight and ran my iPhone 4S battery down to 2%. In 90 minutes, it charged my phone to 44% and stopped. To be fair, Belkin says this is designed for the average phone and not most smart phones. But for the price, you should compare it to other power packs that cost the same and are of much better capability.

I dislike giving negative reviews, but this product had my dander up. Also, I like to save people Forty Dollars on this poor product. The first time I charged this battery overnight (minimum of eight hours); I waited the next day until my iPhone 4S was at 20% of a charge. I then plugged it in while still using the iPhone occasionally. In three hours it went up to 39% and then began to rapidly reduce the entire battery charge back to 20% until it completely discharged. I thought I would try charging it without using the phone. I charged it again in more than the recommended three hours (four hours) until the blue light verified that it was charged. There is NO simple scale on the Belkin battery to tell you how much charge is left in the battery, which I think is a major failing.

I waited until my iPhone was completely out of energy (1%) and then plugged in the Belkin. The small port on the Belkin came loose and dropped into the Belkin Battery. I never had the chance to see how much of a charge I could get. Next came six calls to Belkin who triple verified everything from my name to my model number and promised to get back to me the next day, which they did. What followed were accidental hang-ups, repeat information and a bevy of frustrations.

After reading how so many reviewers only had limited recharge rates, I did ask technical support an important question. "If my iPhone is at 1% of energy and I attach my Belkin Battery fully charged to the iPhone, how much of a renewal charge should I get?" The response was, "You should get a 100% charge up on your iPhone". I don't think so. Save your money and buy something else more reliable like a "Juice pack air(tm) iPhone 4 & 4S Battery Case" or a New Trent ifuel IMP500 5000mAh External Battery pack and Charger for Apple iPhone 4S 4 3Gs 3G (AT&T and verizon), iPod Touch (1G 2G 3G 4G 5G), Motorola Droid, HTC Android EVO, Blackberry, Samsung EPIC, Samsung Galaxy Tablet, Samsung Galaxy S and much more (although I cannot yet speak for the latter). This is a tiny, lightweight external battery that's good for emergencies only. People should NOT confuse this with the larger batteries also sold by Belkin that are used to really charge batteries.

What exactly do I mean? For example, the iPhone 4 and 4S uses a battery with a capacity of about 1500mA while this battery only has a capacity of 1000mA. Thus, from the specs you should expect that this would only be able to charge about 66% of that of the iPhone. In real world application, expect probably around a 50% charge from this battery to your iPhone.

So, this is definitely for smaller dumb phones if you expect it to fully charge your phone. For smartphones I would only rely on it only as an emergency charger to use in a pinch until you can get to a real power source. For that, this external battery fits the bill quite nicely as it's small and light weight.

The only thing missing I think is a battery indicator beyond just one LED light to show how much power is left in the battery. I guess it's not a problem to just charge it all the time but that's not exactly efficient.

Finally, I think this thing is way overpriced for its intended use. I can see it being a good value if it were priced under $20 but not at the current price.

I found this to be a very easy to use little device, quite handy and easy to carry. It took about 4 hours to come back up to a full charge when depleted, so it's not hugely fast on the recharge. It will shut itself down if you detach the phone or what-have-you and don't turn it off, so it will conserve power. It was also durable, as I dropped the darned thing a few times and it survived unschathed.

The down side is that while it's small and light, it also doesn't store enopugh charge to fully recharge a cell phone. I tried it on both my Blackberry Curve and my wife's smart phone and it charged a dead phone back to about 50%. Certainly not awful but I would have hoped for a little better.

This is the most basic model in the Belkin Power Pack line. Despite the tagline 'for tablets and smartphone', it's really not strong enough to boost those power hungry items. Even with a full charge, it barely gave my phone an extra boost, nowhere near the advertised '5-10 hrs of talk time'. The best thing about this pack is the slim design. It's very small and would be great for travel. I only wish it carried a stronger charge. It might work better for mp3 players etc, though I haven't personally tested that option.

I purchased one of these to use as a laptop charger which plugs into the cigarette lighter in my car. I was tired of having to use an inverter to plug my laptop into when i'm away from home (converting DC to AC and then back to DC just doesn't make sense to me).

First of all, I expected this product to be a lot bigger than it actually is. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the package and saw this thing which is no bigger than a business card. It is so much more convenient to have this little guy in my car than it was having a big inverter and AC adapter sitting on the seat. When it's charging my Dell Inspiron, it gets a little hot, but never so hot that I cant hold it in my hand.

It was easy to set up, I just wired the cigarette lighter plug and laptop plug into the screw terminals, plugged it in and adjusted the output voltage using a multimeter and a small screwdriver. The output voltage doesn't drop at all (less than 10mV) when I plug it in to my laptop, which is better than I expected.

I am amazed by how much power this thing can handle, considering how small and inexpensive it is. Bottom line is that for less than $20 you can have an awesome compact car charger for your laptop. This thing is solid, reliable and spot-on when it comes to delivering a consistent output. The one thing I would recommend is that you put a little hot glue on the trim pot screw once you set the output voltage to avoid accidentally bumping it and damaging your computer with an over-voltage.

My first radio. I got it with the programming cable and downloaded CHIRP to program the radio. With out that, I've heard programming it by hand is difficult. But I haven't needed to attempt that yet.

The radio is excellent in quality, feel, sound, and function. I've had it for a few weeks and I'm still learning more and more things that it can do. The dual scan function is a great feature.

The battery life is phenomenal! Follow the instructions on the first charge, as well as the subsequent 3-5 charges, and you will be very pleased with its impressive battery life. I can monitor stations virtually non-stop for three days or so, listening to conversations as they come up on the local repeaters. I have the battery save function set to 1:4, which is recommended to have a balance between battery duration and listening sensitivity. I have not yet talked on this radio to measure the battery life when receiving and transmitting, but I would assume it will still be impressive, although shorter than when only receiving (which is to be expected).

Overall, you can't beat this price for the quality, functions, and abilities of this radio.

ok. these work. but...just a little bit of rough service (and by rough, I mean carrying them along on a trip in a bag) will result in the panels separating from one another (solar panel front and plastic back, creating gap which causes big problems because of the spring loaded connectors). oh sure try to take them apart with a jewelry screwdriver to "fix" it. You will find that the plastic anchors will break. and now you need another one.

as long as they don't separate, they work great. I would say they are worth buying one or two, but just keep in mind treat them as if they are faberge' eggs....

The ReStore XL claims to full charge from empty in 11 hours but I was never able to get it to 4 bars even after leaving it in full sunlight for at least 8 hours a day for 4 days. I plan to use this on my bike touring trip so I decided I needed to get the extra panels. So far they work wonders on the XL. I was able to full charge from 1 bar to 4 bars in about 3.5 hours of sunlight. I also like the testing button as well as the tiny LED that indicates when the panels are putting out power. It would flicker when place in the sun.

Installation was easy and because of the way it is designed, it folds nicely into a compact case for easy storage.

I highly recommend this if you have the XL and having trouble getting to 4 bars on the panels itself.

I got the 2 add on pack for my ReStore XL. I spent a day up in Lambeau Field with my son, and kept having to fire up the car once in a while to recharge things (2 ipads, 2 iphones) during the tailgating. I wanted more options, so started looking around Amazon, and went with the XL.

These were a good price to get three times the speed on recharging when I'm out and about, and they hook up really easily. Spring loaded hooks hold them to each other, and it comes with the piece to connect them to the XL, although the XL came with one as well.

Checking the connections is easy, just get it in sunlight and start charging, and there's a test button to press on the adapter that goes between the charger and these panels, and it turns a little light on each panel on when they've got a connection.

My problem was the build quality. The plastic is very fragile one of them came already cracked where the metal hook would slip in, so I just ended up putting that one on the "outside" where nothing would have to hook up to it. But that means I need to be careful when using them any other cracks, and I won't be able to use at least one of them.

Charging time has improved drastically, so while I haven't done any timed tests with and without, it was definitely worth it for me.

I bought this charger and the two solar panel add-on pack. The connection between the main charger and solar add on panels is so pathetically poor it will not make electrical contact.

this item is big. It ls about 4 times the size of my 7000 mah (Non-solar) new trent battery pack (without the add-on panels too). too big to carry to be of any use to me.

unfortunately since i discarded the packaging, I'm told I can't return it now. i would have rather lit my money on fire, at least i'd see some cool flames.

maybe i got a defect but i don't think so. this technology is interesting but it just isn't ready for mainstream.

if you're brave enough to try it, i beg you: save your packaging to return this when you experience your inevitable disappointment.

EDIT 11/6: After posting this review I got a very nice email from Accesory Genie, they took the product back and refunded my money. Still one star for the product but 5 stars for Accessory Genie for stepping up and makign this right for me! I would buy from them again.

I will break this down into a short pros and cons segment.

pros: Very lightweight! When compared to an Apple brand, this thing is lite. The other thing I like is the red light. If you need to charge at night, this helps you find what you're looking for.

Cons: Doesn't feel as durable because of how lite it is. The Apple Brand feels much more durable. Also I noticed it doesn't seem to Charge an iPad 2 as fast. Its close, but It took almost an hour longer to fully charge than the Apple Brand.

Overall not a bad travel charger. Has worked fine so far, just wished it charged a little faster.

Look at the product in the picture YOU WILL NOT GET THAT. Read the product description YOU WILL NOT GET THAT. I am not sure about the other reviews and can only assume that the product they received was in fact the pictured product. That is not the case with who I ordered from, Dealaroma. What came in my mail is this tiny little square thing with NO folding plug and NO LED light that the USB cord plugs into and sits somewhat sideways. ANY touching of the cord, like the wind from a ceiling fan will cause the cord to fall out. This is a horrible product but the fact is that it is not at all what I ordered.

I am no expert and I am also technologically impaired, overall it's pretty good with one exception. The voice command gets kinda garbled and doesn't recorgnize what you are saying sometimes. You have to repeat yourself a couple of times. Especially when it comes to saying the number of your destination. Other than that it's good to go...

After unboxing...Well, I do not know where to begin.

1) item clearly was different than the photos.

2) Item listed on amazon says 3.0 mega pixels, manual clearly states 2.0, this is a false listing on amazon.

3) Item clearly has two buttons for recording, the one I received had 4 with mp3 headphones. None of which I ordered and obviously more noticeable and bulky.

5) item listed as 30 FPS, manual states 25-30 FPS with no way to adjust that.

6) Resolution listed on amazon is 736 X 480, manual clearly states this is not so. The actual resolution in manual is 640x480.

7)I set it up to charge, blue light came on, hours later blue light is still on, but nothing works at all. Cannot see it in the computer, cannot change 'mode' etc..this item appears dead.

All in all, I feel like I bought an item off ebay from a d-bag seller who lies and cheats. For this price I expected what I bought, not some old fake pair that does not work.

Stay away from this seller and their products. Me? I am starting the dang refund/return process, this is dung.

The battery died while I was using it today. Contacted Amazon for a refund and they will send UPS to pick it up tomorrow.

This is my 4th purchase of this from different vendors and this has the best quality so far. The video and sound qualities were good. Unfortunately, the internal battery did not last long. There should be a way to replace the battery myself in case the warranty expires. Not comfortable if I will recommend this to buy. Another thing, I got this for $86 3 weeks ago and now it is on sale for $57 :(

I might try the i-Kam extreme. Hopefully this will last longer...

I bought two of these glasses as gifts. We charged them up for 12 hours as described in the rather brief "manual" and then tried to turn them on and record a video. Immediately we noticed the buttons hurt our hands when we tried to hold them down for 3 seconds (power on) or 5 seconds (record) according the instructions. Both glasses powered on, but neither went into a recording mode. One of the glasses did not power off at all. We tried doing a reset of both glasses to no avail. The glasses do not work and we are returning them today. It is too bad because they are a fun concept. Perhaps another vendor will eventually get it right but in the meantime ... avoid this product.

So I bought this because 1) it could do 6V and 12V and 2) it had a digital display for voltage and percent charge. It chooses automatically between 6 and 12V fine. The display however, seems quite off. The voltage is ~0.2V off vs a multimeter, but to be fair the resolution is only 0.1V so its hard to say exactly how off it is. The percent charge, which I was most interested in, appears way off. I had a 6V motorcycle battery that sat all winter, read ~3.5V before charging. I hooked it up, on the slow trickle charge setting recommended for small batteries, and it read 90% state of charge to begin. The SOC rose quickly to the high 90's, where it sat for quite awhile until fully charged. I understand there are a lot of battery types and sizes out there, so this may be hard to calculate, but I thought everyone should have a proper expectation about it. I like to monitor this type of information, which is why I elected for this model with SOC display (I didn't really need the 12A). Now I wish I would've just went with a more basic model.

Other Good:

It does kick out automatically to a maintenance mode once fully charged, and automatically start charging after a power loss.

Other Bad:

The fan is loud, and there is no on/off switch (you must unplug it). Also, while charging, the display switches between the SOC and the voltage setting(6 or 12). It would be more helpful to see an actual real-time voltage instead of what setting it is on. To check voltage status with the unit, you must abort charging and put into testing mode, then go back to charging.

Decent inexpensive Apple iPhone/iPod charger. One flaw is that the "dock" connector is larger than the standard Apple connector, so it doesn't work with all protective cases (especially the thicker ones). I have to take the case off my phone to use this charger. That's worthy of a 3-star rating because they could easily have made it the standard Apple size without any new engineering.

So far the charger works just fine and for ten bucks it's hard to complain too much.

The adjustable back lighting is great. One of the brightest displays seen in full sun. Found it to be very easy and intuitive to use. Although there were some changes buried deep withing that were a surprise. Love the yoke mount and car mounts. Both worked great for me. Love the single power cord. Very clean setuup. The unit is packed with features and can manupulate many of the fuctions to your liking. The size is just about right for the way it will be used. Has a good decent manual. Super easy to unclip from the mounts so you can prevent theft. Bluetooth available for vehicle use (but not why flying).

This device uses the inferior resistive touchscreen technology with a too-large bezel that makes it impossible to touch anything near the sides of the screen. The effect is that the touchable area of the buttons that hug the right side of the screen in map view are significantly reduced. Even after a calibration, I would regularly miss these buttons. The cursor simply wouldn't go as far to the right as my finger asked it to. Another problem related to the touch screen is with dragging the map in any direction. It was a frustrating experience, as the device would detect my finger at times and ignore it at other times. The touchscreen's lack of sensitivity is frustrating when entering numbers, letters etc. I wish they would using capacitive touchscreen (like the iPhone). Using the flight planner for me was cumbersome. And it is difficult to enter your own waypoints accurately due to the small screen size and lack of terrian detail. But the task can be accomplished. Battery life is an issue, but that was known before hand. I always use the plug-in power. I think this product should come with a means to plug it into 110v for charging purposes. It is an after purchase option. The vehicle mode was a little disappointing. I really liked the idea to have dual GPS capabilities, flying and vehicle travel. But the sophistication level for driving just isn't any better than whats been out there for years now. Two features I immediately found lacking were a nearest airport function in case of engine loss, and the ability to navigate to a point I touched on the map screen. To perform either function, you must exit the moving map and enter the Direct to menu.

Overall other than the unresponsive touchscreen, I am very pleased with what I mainly purchased this unit for: Flying. Haven't had it long enough to comment on durability, but so far (Knock on wood), I haven't had any issues with it at all after about 30 hours of flying with this unit.

I've had this for over 6 months and still find it difficult to use. It's not intuitive and seems designed by someone with little aviation background ie, must exit the map screen and press several buttons to make a waypoint and then fly to it. Garmin makes better GPS's that are installed in the helicopters I fly than this one. In the Auto mode if you enter some place to go then discover you have to change a setting in tools DON'T hold down the BACK key too long as the Stop navigation button is right under the BACK key and you will have to reenter your destination if the BACK key is held down too long.

This GPS is better used by a passenger who has the time during a flight to use it rather than a pilot who has to fly the aircraft (the warning on the automotive side against use while driving should be on the aviation side as well). Battery life is poor. I agree with Timothy Lam on touchscreen problems but i also have problems dragging the map around in the auto mode when i lift my finger the map scrolls some distance away on it's own. The Bluetooth on my old ear piece from Motorola is better and easier to use (but not setup) than this Bluetooth. I'm disappointed and expected a lot better from Garmin. I would NOT recommend this GPS.

I have two of these units.

They are the best you can get at the 700 usd price range but they are not perfect.

I've had one of my units going off during the flight a couple of times so If you can afford, get two as they can become inoperative during flight.

I don't like the touchscreen very much. It doesn't have great resolution and it is hard touch exactly where you want and with turbulence you may have a hard time typing a waypoint or airport name.

A good thing is that it can be attached to a Zaon XRX and provide traffic information.

It gets 3 stars on my review for the bad resolution touchscreen and the eventual freeze or black screen that requires a hard reset.

This is a very nice quality Pure Sinewave inverter that runs everything I plug into it perfectly! There are only a few issues I that prevent me from making it 5 stars. These aren't a big deal for me personally, but might be a deal breaker for some, so read this before you buy.

The unit has automatic shut down features for low voltage (anything < 11.8V). This is a safety feature, and perfectly plausable from the mfg viewpoint, but it translates into the user needing a LOT of battery power to run a simple appliance for a short period of time. Also, DO NOT BUY DEEP CYCLE BATTERIES for this because they are designed to lose voltage quickly and provide current for an extended time. Putting deep cell batteries on this unit makes the problem much worse. I replaced them with regular tractor Lead Acid batteries, and they maintain a working voltage much longer. The problem is that you can't really drain your batteries even close to 3/4 charge before the unit shuts itself off... kind of a huge waste. It takes five 925 CCA LA batteries just to run my fridge overnight without tripping the inverter... and God forbid if it's cloudy the next day. So if you want to set and forget this unit, the auto shut off is really not for you.

They have another nice feature where you can set the unit to go into "stand by" mode which would theoretically solve the problem of the inverter itself draining all the battery power overnight. The problem is, however, that the once a second the unit turns on power, to sense load. Even though you can adjust the threshold at which the unit will wake from sleep, the momentary power applied to my appliances every second makes them all "beep" and the lowest setting (40W) is not low enough to keep the power ON long enough for me to activate the electronic controls on my washing machine... the unit kills the power before I can press "Start". It does seem to work OK for the fridge, but takes a second to light the bulbs when you open the door, and it's not enough to run the water and ice in door feature, which also is frustrating.

The answer for me is to install more and more batteries ($100 ea.) so you see the problem. If you want good mobile power on a job or camping site, there is nothing better, but if you want to run your home on solar power, this is not the unit for you unless you want to have 10 or more panels and 20 or more batteries... (>$5000 worth of stuff) and this unit is STILL under-powered for a whole house and only puts out 110v.

I will use this inverter as an emergency backup until I can afford the Aims 240V whole house inverter.

So in short, this device is great at what it does for camping or job sites but not for home solar unless you are running a small cabin on 110v only, and have many thousands of dollars to spend on batteries and panels.
