Battery arrived stone dead with battery acid present inside shipping package. Although there is no visable breech of the battery itself?? Charged it and used it anyway (it was an emergency) now it won't hold a charge. I guess you get what you pay for. No wonder it was only 40 bucks.

Bought two of these batteries. One is good and the other was bad. When contacted about the bad battery the vendor just asked me questions.

They asked me if the battery was really bad and delayed the process. They never would give me authorization to return even though they were initially contacted in the warranty period. This store will not honor the warranty so you are taking your chances buying from this store. I recommend buying a better battery. It will cost more, but my last 2 Yuasas lasted 12 years.

Update 3/30/2013 I hung in there for 6 months and finally got a replacement battery. They promised me a 15% credit due to my extended wait, but I have never seen it and don't expect to. These people do poorly in the follow through and I just don't have the energy to keep bugging them for 6 months to get the credit like I had to to get the replacement battery.

Duracell DRINVC130 130W Power Inverter with 2.1 Amp USB Port

Duracell DRINVC130 130W Power Inverter with 2.1 Amp USB Port
  • Powers and charges various mobile electronics: laptops, netbooks, smart phones, MP3 players, tablet PCs, e-Readers, cameras and more
  • Convenient design fits into the vehicle's cupholder
  • High quality cooling technology reduces perceived noise level by up to 50 percentage versus competitive products
  • Can simultaneously charge three devices through the included AC outlet, DC outlet and USB 2.1 amp port
  • Upgraded 2.1 amp USB port provides the high level of power for iPads, e-Readers and other power hungry electronics

Overall this is a great little charger. My favorite feature would definitely have to be the DC plug since my car only has 1, and I don't have to buy another splitter to power other devices.

For powering a laptop, the AC plug works great.

The main reason I bought it was to power a HP Touchpad, which apparently the 2.1amp USB plug still has trouble doing.

The only other complaint I would have about it is that the fan makes a quiet ticking noise. It's just loud enough to hear; if it were more like a fan noise I wouldn't have an issue with it.

Buy Duracell DRINVC130 130W Power Inverter with 2.1 Amp USB Port Now

I initially was looking for an inverter with an extra 12V power outlet because I have a Soundfly Car FM Transmitter for SD card/USB/MP3 in my older car (which lacks an Aux input on the stereo), and the Soundfly occupies the 12V outlet all the time. Finding such an inverter which ALSO has a USB power port, and a 2.1A high-powered one at that, was a huge bonus. And the cup-holder form factor is very convenient. This product is brilliant; absolutely, totally perfect, or it WOULD be... And that brings us to some of the minor drawbacks.

For one thing, there is no On/Off switch on the inverter. My car never turns off its 12V socket, key in the ignition or no key. The Duracell inverter theoretically will disengage if the car battery gets low, but I'd rather not find out. That means remembering to unplug the thing every time so as not to leave the inverter circuits constantly live on the battery, which greatly lessens its convenience.

For another thing, the USB port is supposed to be a high-current 2.1A variety. However, my iPad2 doesn't seem to charge at full speed on it. The iPad SAYS it's charging, and the charge percentage doesn't go down, but then, it doesn't really go up, either.

Another minor complaint, the inverter fan generates a faint ticking buzz. It's enough to be irritating if you're sitting in the parking lot listening to something quiet, but luckily, once you're underway, the fan is easily masked by engine and road noise. I rarely notice it, and honestly, the Duracell is much quieter than the last inverter I owned.

(Also, there is only one of each kind of port. One 12V, one AC, one USB. For me this is perfect, but if you need, say, multiple USB charge ports, you might need to go a different way.)

I have addressed these concerns by: Ignoring the fan noise. Using my iPad on the USB port, and not worrying about whether it's charging at full speed or not. (If my iPad is REALLY low and I need it to definitely charge FAST, I can always plug its own little white charger into the AC outlet on the inverter. Shouldn't have to do that, but it works.) And finally, I installed a heavy duty lamp cord switch on the inverter's 12V power feed wire, so I can leave the unit plugged in in my car but turn it on and off. Thus voiding the product warranty, but for me, the increase in usefulness was worth it.

Overall, this is a highly useful gadget, I use it every day and am glad it's there every day.

This is a great little inverter for the money. It doesn't get 5 stars because of one very big problem--if you leave it plugged in, it will run your battery down if your vehicle continues to send power to the cigarette lighter even when the key is turned off. Luckily for me, this happened to me in a nice, heated garage, and I had another vehicle with jumper cables handy. Since then, I have been very careful about unplugging it every time I get out of the car. The cupholder shape fits perfectly into my car's cupholder. I love the fact that it has 3 outlets--(1) 12v outlet, (1) 120v outlet, and (1) usb charger port. I can charge my phone, listen to my mp3 player (powered by 12v), and run my GPS off the wall charger all at the same time. When I was researching to buy this unit, I spent a lot of time looking for one similar to this. There are cheaper and less expensive units out there. Very few had the size, power, and function of this unit. It's been great so far. It's never overheated (yet), and it is so quiet, I can't even hear it running, even with the car turned off. When I bought this, it was about $40.

Road trips these days are a perpetual electronic negotiation. Do we pack the "travel kit" for the phones, or will the batteries last until we get there? Is the USB cable for the player enough? How about the spare battery for the laptop?

This inverter takes out the guesswork. It will accept all three kinds of connection USB, wall outlet (grounded, even), and "cigarette lighter" and let you use and charge electronic devices in your car.

The device is very well designed. The "wall outlet" has enough space around it to accommodate oddly-shaped plugs. The cord is long enough to put a laptop in the back seat, and plug into the dash. And, joy of joys, the thing is designed to fit into the cupholder (with enough clearance around it to let the fan in the bottom of the device have airflow).

As a road test, I charged an iPhone (via the cigarette lighter outlet), a regular cell phone (via the wall-type outlet), and a Sansa MP3 player (via the USB) simultaneously. They all charged about as quickly as I would expect from a normal connection, with no problems. After 40 minutes in a warm car the inverter was very slightly warm to the touch, but not enough for the cooling fan built into the bottom of the device to go on (I expect it will when one is charging a laptop. And I wouldn't attach a washing machine to this, if you should somehow want to run one on the highway).

Our Suburu Forester has another lighter-outlet inside the center armrest, with a small compartment next to it for on-the-road electronics (I also recommend the Forester). This device will be living there.

I've been driving around with this Duracell DRINVC130 130W Power Inverter with 2.1 Amp USB Port in my car for a few days now. So far, so good. I've charged a cell phone using the AC outlet, iPod using the USB port, and GPS using the CD outlet. I had no problems fitting any of the various cords into their respective outlets or with the cords staying in place, including the connection with my vehicle's power outlet.

The cylindrical shape fits into the cupholder as designed, which is a nice convenience and which makes access to the plugs easy. So far, this power inverter is quiet and cool, but none of the other inverters I have tried became warm or made any sound either (though both quit working after about a year).

The plastic seems thin and prone to shattering if dropped on a driveway or garage floor. The thin plastic around the various outlets seems another place that could be prone to splitting or splintering after prolonged use. So far, though, neither has proven a problem, the unit continues working well, and it performs as describes, so I upgraded my original rating to 4 stars (9/27/11).

The packaging is supposedly "green," which I think means we are not supposed to feel guilty for buying something that uses more cardboard than needed and prints instructions on the front of a legal-sized sheet of paper instead of on the front and back of a sheet half this size. (Furthermore, the instructions and warranty information could easily be edited by a third or more just by using the active voice.)

There is a three-year "limited" warranty, but as with most products, having to hold onto a dated sales receipt during that time can prove a challenge.

SOLAR PL2208 Pro-Logix 8 Amp Automatic Battery Charger

SOLAR PL2208 Pro-Logix 8 Amp Automatic Battery Charger
  • Fully automatic operation
  • Active filtering technology with charge control circuitry adjusts power delivery based on the characteristics of the battery being charged
  • Compatible with multiple battery types, including Conventional, AGM, Gel Cell, Spiral Wound, and Deep Cycle Batteries
  • Simple set up for each charging application, with "Push and Go" One-Touch Control: just select the battery size and the charger automatically executes the unique Quad-Phase charging process
  • Unique Quad-Phase charging process delivers optimal charge

So far I am impressed with this charger.

Pros:

Operation is simple, cool to the touch, and essentially silent. The charging cycles are relatively quick, the unit is very compact (much more so than the picture implies about the size of a small purse), this charger is approved for the Odyssey line of "dry" cell AGM batteries (see the Odyssey website), and it charges more than the Odyssey line of batteries (unlike the Odyssey branded chargers that are very expensive).

Cons:

Limited charging capability (8 Amps), no digital display for battery parameters (% charged, volts, Amps etc.).

For note: I would have purchased one of the larger chargers in the SOLAR line if one of the larger chargers was on the Odyssey approved charger list. This is the only reason I rated this at 4 stars.

Nevertheless, I highly recommend this charger.

I have an Odyssey battery that requires a special charger that is approved by the company. I tried an Odyssey OMAX-12A-1B charger and liked it except that the cooling fan runs constantly and is annoyingly loud. I returned it and found out that this charger is approved by Odyssey. It's also about $25 cheaper, too. This charger, unlike the OMAX-12A-1B, can also charge other non AGM batteries, so that's another plus over the OMAX.

I've had my charger for about six months, and it works well. I'm hoping it will keep my Odyssey battery well conditioned, but time will tell. I killed my first Odyssey battery when I naively used a Sears trickle charger on it.

Haven't tried out the car charger yet, and the retractable cable is ok.

Silicone skin is as advertised.

I am very disappointed with the screen protector though. It is a generic size, and you have to cut it to fit. Luckily the silicone skin covers the majority of the front surface, so non square cuts are hidden.

Would be nice to have one that didn't require cutting.

I really like the ability to charge the zen fi 2 whether at home or on the road. The silicone Skin does a great job of protecting my zen and the easy to install screen protector works great, too. It doesn't effect my ability to touch the screen menus and get immediate response. I would recommend this kit to everyone.

Stromberg Carlson Product PA-100 Aluminum Folding Platform Step

  • Supports 1,000 pounds and is made from light weight aluminum
  • Light weight aluminum will not rust

I'm a rather big guy. So you see, I was looking for a STRONG step stool for 'just out of reach' situations around the house. Since the legs on this fold down, I figured to store it in the open in front of a cupboard. And it's fine for that ... with one minor drawback. When folded, the legs that touch the floor are uncovered metal (no protective or rubber covering). For fear of scratching the tile or hardwoods, I put a non-slip throw run under it when using it in the folded position. Of course, the manufacturer made this with the outdoors in mind, so...

Outside of that nitty little concern (and if just a tad pricey), it's terrific. Even with my large frame on it, the step gives no indication of strain whatsoever. If you're worried about climbing onto a flimsy stool, this one will give you confidence in your safety.

This platform step is very sturdy. I use it for osteoarthritis in the knee for exercise since it is multi positional. My original use was for getting in my husband's F250 truck since the step up is too high. I am a big person and it greatly meets the need. Folds up easily to take anywhere. I also have used it getting in a camper or boat. What a great product thanks so much!

I have been looking for an RV step that was adjustable and safe to use. The cheapest one I found was at an RV dealer for $89.99 plus tax and it only supported 350 pounds. The Stomberg folding step supports 1,000 lbs, adjusts from 3 to 8 inches and only cost me $74.00 delivered to my door in time to go camping this weekend. If you need one this is it!

Progressive Dynamics PD9245CV Inteli-Power 9200 Series 45 Amp Converter/Charger with Built-in Charge

Progressive Dynamics PD9245CV Inteli-Power 9200 Series 45 Amp Converter/Charger with Built-in Charge Wizard
  • Electrical 45 Amp Converter W/ Chg W Pd9245Cv Progressive Dynamics, Inc

Replacing an older linear 25A unit, it fit right into the available space, and could use entirely existing wiring.

If using stranded main output wire, you might want to crimp on a ferrule, as the (hex-key, not slotted or phillips) 8-32 screws that secure the wire (max. AWG 4) will tend to spread stranded wire; with solid copper this won't be an issue.

From box-open to installed and running took less than 1 hour, mostly hooking up the fuse block (see other reviews).

The Charge Wizard blinked contentedly to itself for about 48 hours, connected to my 2 Marine deep discharge batteries, then went to float. So far I haven't noticed the cooling fan running (at 30A or less). The output seems to be 13.2 VDC, with ripple under load below 120mV according to my DVM.

I bought this unit on the recommendation of two friends who use them in their RVs. They just bought the Charge Wizard plug-in units because their existing inverters had the capability built in, but my old charger was a "cheapy" that put a constant charge on the battery and shortened it's life. Haven't had it in the trailer long, but so far it works great. When I first hooked up this unit it even partially brought the old battery back to life, but ot was too far gone, so I bought a new battery. Since we use our traler infrequently, it is very important to have the battery properly charged. A new battery might only last a year or two at best without the Charge Wizard. My friends batteries are pushing 5 years. Another advantage is that when I fire up the generator out in the boonies the battery will get a fast charge automatically while I'm using the microwave or air conditioner. It was easy to hook up, and of course Amazon's low price and free shipping didn't hurt either.

Want Progressive Dynamics PD9245CV Inteli-Power 9200 Series 45 Amp Converter/Charger with Built-in Charge Discount?

We have been very impressed by the PD9245CV from Progressive Dynamics. I ordered this unit to replace the Elixir Industries ELX45 45 Amp Solid State Converter/Charger that originally came with our camper. The Elixir serves as the Converter/Charger and the 110v/12v distribution panel for the whole camper and the PD9245CV is only the Converter/Charger, but we didn't want to replace the distribution panel. We always had a challenge with the Elixir unit as we could over load the unit if we used too many things in the camper at once. The fan was also very loud and would run with almost anything on.

The Progressive Dynamics unit is rated at the same amperage as the old Elixir, but operates much much better. We can turn on every 12v device in the camper and the fan doesn't even start running hard. On top of that the fan is very quiet and runs at variable speeds. I had to open the cabinet and put my had over the fan to tell that it was working. Last, but not least, the 4-stage battery charger and maintainer is much better for your deep-cycle batteries than the basic chargers that will gas-off your battery if you leave it plugged in too long. With the Progressive you can plug it in and forget it.

The unit sold from Amazon IS a retail package so it does include the Progressive Dynamics PD 9200 Series Pendant, so you don't have to buy a separate one.

Replacing the power converter/battery charger in a 1985 Shasta travel trailer. The old setup was 30 amps which is plenty for the minimal power needed, but this 45 amp was priced to beat, so we went with it.

We did have to do some Gerry-rigging due to the age of the old setup. We didn't replace the circuit breaker box, so we had to make some adjustments to get things hooked up with that. We also kept the individual fuse setup from the old system and that took some extra maneuvering.

This converter/charger is working great. It charges the house battery without issue. With ac hookup, we can run everything at once with no blown fuses/circuits. With battery power, we can run the water pump and lights without any issue (before, we never could get the lights to work on battery power).

One note: when inserting the wires, be very careful how much you loosen the screws. They don't unscrew all the way out, and if you unscrew them too far, they move out of alignment and strip and once that happens, there's no fixing it without taking the entire thing out and apart. (We ended up using electrical wire to overcome that little mistake but not before trying to fight it for ages).

If you're replacing a newer setup, it should be a very easy process. If you're replacing an old setup, you may need to work a bit harder, but it will work great.

HQRP Pair MC3 T-branch Solar Panel Connector M/M/F & F/F/M (1F2M & 1M2F) for PV / Photovoltaic Syste

HQRP Pair MC3 T-branch Solar Panel Connector M/M/F & F/F/M for PV / Photovoltaic System plus HQRP CoasterThese plugs are made with a good quality plastic casing and aluminum contacts. I have a small installation at a home in Mexico, just 2 panels. I hated to twist the cables together so I bought a few of these. They fit very tightly, so snug that I could barely disconnect without a few hard full force tugs and wiggles, so no water is going to be getting inside there.

I recently bought a portable fan that uses 8 D-cells with an option to use an AC to 12volt adapter. Since AC power is not usually available where I use the fan, I wanted an external, rechargeable 12 volt source. This fits the bill perfectly and it's easy to keep charged with a very small auto battery charger. I cut the 12 volt plug with cable from the AC adapter and attached it to the battery with slide clips. With the cost of good quality D-cells, this should pay for itself pretty quickly.

Sunforce 52013 1.8-Watt Solar Battery Maintainer (Pack of 2)

Sunforce 52013 1.8-Watt Solar Battery Maintainer
  • Each panel creates 1.8 Watts of energy and charges 12V batteries
  • Works with motorcycles, cars, snowmobiles, tractors and more
  • Made of durable ABS plastic and amorphous solar cells
  • For indoor use--solar panels are not waterproof
  • Each unit includes 7.5 feet of wire, 12V DC plug, suction cups for mounting for easy mounting onto windshields, and battery clamps for plugging into cigarette lighter

I got these for my rv as well as my jeep that sits for weeks on end. The solar panels came packaged ok. No loose parts or missing parts. You receive both a cigarette lighter plug as well as alligator clips. Both adaptors attach easily to the solar panel. One of my complaints are the suction cups used to attach to the windshield. They don't suck! Meaning, they constantly fall of the windshield. You do get 4 suction cups in the packaging. I had to play with the cups to find the 2 that worked the "best".

Doing a little testing on my amp draw of my jeep. I found that is pulls .088 amps with no key and all accessories off. Sticking a panel to my windshield resulted in a reduction of my amp draw to .017 amps. This is better, but not quite what I was wanting. Remembering that all windshields come with a UV filter in them, I pulled the solar panel into the direct sunlight and found the vehicle was now charging .023 amps. This is more like it, however, reading the directions, these panels are not weather proof, meaning, waterproof.

Installing the second panel along with the first behind the windshield resulted in a charging of .017 amps. So, it seems I need to install both panels to keep my battery maintained while in "storage". Remember to check that your cigarette lighter is a constant power on (there is power with the key in the off position). If not you will need to install a aftermarket plug for the panels to work.

I keep several antique vehicles, two pickups, and two new cars I drive almost daily. So, I was looking for a solution to maintain the battery on my 2007 Siverado pickup with only 5,500 miles accumulated on it after almost four years. As you can see, it's not driven much and it still looks brand new for all intents and purposes. The standard alarm system and electronics place a constant drain on its battery and I was having to jump start every time the truck hadn't been started within a month I also knew that wasn't doing my battery any good.

Local and other stores wanted $15 to $20 more for just one of these solar maintainers than priced at Amazon.com. I was surprised to find this offer of two, for what amounted to the price of one, and quickly purchased them at the savings offered. I also have a pristeen 1981 GMC Sierra with only 22,000 miles on its clock. So, this two pack gave me one to use with it as well although the Sierra doesn't drain its battery quickly at all while sitting idle.

Now, this is two complete blister packed SunForce 50012 Solar Maintainers I received for a 50013 "Twin Pack" labeled product ordered from Amazon.com complete with spring loaded Alligator battery clamps and a "cigarette lighter" adapter. A generous amount of wiring is included (8 feet from the factory panel connection) with a standard connection to adapt either the provided "cigarette" or Alligator clamp type connectors. The wiring also looks well insulated and of a durable gauge to support long life in standard use of the product. The overall look of the product is sturdy but not unbreakable. So, it's not something to bang around with rough treatment. Stow it with some care when not in use.

I noticed a blue LED began flashing on the panel in normal room lighting as I removed the packaging. I walked outside and watched that LED immediately go brighter and remain solid blue. I connected the provided "cigarette" adapter and checked the power output. Using a new Amprobe ACD-14 Plus, I measured the output and found it exceeded the factory rating of 125 milliamperes @ 15 volts. The instructions say the voltage will read 16 volts to 25 volts in full sun, and the sun was already low in the sky as I made my measurement so I imagine it will hit 25 volts in full sun. With that thought in mind, do not turn on any electrical device using 12 volts with this connected. The excess voltage could cause damage.

I connected the unit to my Silverado's cigarette lighter connection, but the Silverado has a short style lighter and too much of the adaptor plug was hanging out for my liking. I then moved it into the deeper accessory plug on my Siverado, and it fit well inside it. Since power is always on at these Silverado connections, either would work for charging purposes. The unit lay easily in the dash depression on passenger side of my pickup and looked good there. As I connected it, I had immediately noticed the blue LED began flashing upon connection and went solid when I removed the connection a sure sign it was charging my Silverado's battery when connected. I'm sure the battery was ready for a charge as it had been two weeks since it was last driven.

The instructions say to disconnect the panel before starting and operating the vehicle for safety reasons, and that is simple enough without further details (see above voltage details). I wouldn't want it connected while driving anyway, and its thin small design stores easily under the passenger seat with its attached cable (roughly 14"x5"x1/2"). Sunforce also states on the packaging the unit has built in overcharge and discharge protection (no other electronics needed for use), and it is waranteed against all defects for one year with a five year total limited warranty.

The warranty will be voided if used outside and weathered, but the instructions say it can be weatherproofed against moisture by sealing the edges of the glass frame and around the plugs with a clear silicone caulking. Four small suction cups are also supplied, but only two can be used at a time. Personally, I don't trust the reliability of any suction cup on any device even if it is feather light. I don't need them, but they are included.

In my use, I'm looking forward to a long service life from this product that it appears I will get. At this low price, even a few years of reliable use (and not having to jump start my pickups) will easily pay for it. Now, only time will tell if one of these supplying up to 1.8 watts delivers enough power to prevent the electrical drain from my Silverado's security system on its battery. I know one can keep the battery pumped up on the older Sierra.

If this doesn't work for my Silverado, there is another larger and more powerful solar panel sold by Amazon that will for about $80 (6.5 watt Sunforce 22005 12-Volt MotoMaster Eliminator Folding Solar Panel). It rolls out on its nylon cloth of a size to roughly cover a dash, is made to handle abuse, and it is also fully weatherproof if needed outdoors. Indeed, one of these 1.8 watt SunForce 12 volt Battery Maintainers will also work very well in one of my antique vehicles instead of my removing their batteries if the 1.8 watts turns out not to be sufficient for my Silverado.

To further allay any fears concerning this product, the rated panel current, of the 125 milliamperes supplied, is insufficient to overcharge any automotive battery and a diode prevents battery discharge through the panel. One or both of these panels will aid in the prevention of battery sulfation and the resulting power loss it creates. These panels are NOT battery "chargers" and will not recharge/repair a heavily discharged/sulfated or otherwise damaged battery (internal shorts or dead cells). This product will overcome parasitic electrical system losses that would eventually drain a battery over time, such as while a vehicle is sitting idle provided those parasitic losses are not too great. Hence the name "Battery Maintainer".

*Also note a discharged automotive battery, that is still undamaged and not totally drained, can "rebuild" its power levels after some time sitting idle with all electrical loads removed. This "re-bound" is normal in good batteries, and this product can aid in that "re-bound" by working against sulfation.

***UPDATE*** December 1st, 2010

It has now been four months since I placed my two battery maintainers in use. My 2007 Silverado just sat unused for two months without being started, and its battery was fully charged when I started it. That never happened before I used this solar panel from Sunforce my battery would have been discharged enough, in only one month of disuse, to require a jump start. After TWO MONTHS of not using this truck, my battery was FULLY CHARGED and placed no recharge drain on the engine's electrical system when I started the engine!

I then decided to check my 1981 GMC Sierra, as it had just sat idle for 3 months. Normally, starting it after this length of time would have caused a squalling alternator belt as the battery recharged after starting the engine in it. This time there was no noise, and the truck's electrical guage showed only a normal draw as if the truck had been driven daily! Moments later, I turned on the headlights and the heater fan to "high". Even that didn't make the alternator belt so much as whimper.

I am now very pleased with the performance of these two Sunforce solar battery maintainers. It looks like my days of having to drag out the battery cables for jump starts are finished at least until I actually have a bad battery, and that may not be for a very long time now. Too bad these things aren't built into new cars.

***UPDATE*** December 2011

It has now been well over a year since I started using the Sunforce battery maintainers. Both are still performing as they did when new, as I checked them with an Amprobe digital meter. Both were still showing 18 volts output in sunshine and were close to the advertised ampere output.

But, while the maintainers have kept my battery voltages up over extended periods of a month or so of not running my vehicles, they don't fully protect from the naturally occuring problem of battery sulfation. Getting a 12 volt battery reading does little for starting an engine when sulfation has reduced the factory fresh (rated) available ampere charge below that needed for starting an engine the Sunforce product here only aids a little in sulfation prevention by keeping battery voltage up.

While these maintainers did work well for vehicles I drove once a month or so, the batteries still sulfated. The end result one of "maintained" batteries was recently unable to start the vehicle it sat in. A look under the vent caps told the story of why when the battery was initially reading 12.5 volts yet couldn't start the engine unless "jumped" from another vehicle and no, there were no parasitic voltages in the electrical system. The plates had all turned light gray with sulfation the normal alternating light and dark gray plate coloration just wasn't there. Fortunately, the battery wasn't as yet swollen.

I also own a BatteryMINDer 12248 charger/desulfator, so I put it on the battery. It immediately showed the battery was heavily sulfated with its yellow indicator glowing steady. Even though I had earlier charged the battery at 30 amps for 30 minutes and it still could not start the vehicle. After two days on the BatteryMINDer 12248, the battery recovered enough to start the vehicle again. But, I installed another battery and will let the BatteryMINDer fully desulfate this one before re-installing it.

What this points out is these Sunforce panels are not good for a long term (storage type) maintenance cycle on lead acid batteries without some type of regular interim battery desulfation. For this reason, some may be expecting a bit too much from these Sunforce panels. For those folks, the best solution will be using a BatteryMINDer solution for a day or two each month or so or just using a BatteryMINDer like the 12151 I use on a few of my stored vehicles. Whichever BatteryMINDer solution, rest assured the BatteryMINDer de-sulfation process will restore a sulfated and dead battery back to operation unless the battery has other defects. I've even used a BatteryMINDer to fully restore a 13 year old battery that had sat dead for the last five years in my garage. After a few weeks on the 12248 BatteryMINDer, that battery unbelievably returned to like new performance.

So, the Sunforce has its place but you might also want to invest in a BatteryMinder for periodic de-sulfation of any lead acid battery.

Gave my husband this because he was always complaining his battery was going dead. He has a van that he doesn't drive all the time but the couple of times he really needed to have it start in a pinch and it was always dead! Since I got him this solar charger there's a lot less cursing and frustration and it starts every time! It has made my life easier and he said it was one of the best gifts I got him ! I would definately recommend it!!

I have a Ford 150 Pickup that I don't drive very often and I was having problems keeping the battery charged. I am now using this product and it works great. I live in the Pacific North West and it works well even with our cloudy and rainy days. I think this item is priced a bit high here but it works great.

Amazon's product #52013 is confusing. This item is NOT the Sunforce 50013, it is two of Sunforce 50012. Though the description lists boat and PWC application, the 50012 is not meant to be around water, while the 50013 is completely waterproof.

According to the user manual, the panels can be waterproofed by tracing a bead of clear silicone around the glass frame. I've done this and installed the panel. We'll see how this works.

After several years of using Amazon this is my first eperience with this sort of confused product identification. The website makes it difficult to complain directly to Amazon, so buyers should beware.

In summary, if you have marine application in mind, make sure you order Sunforce #50013. It costs the same, although you only get one in the package.

This is a great product for the 13 inch MACBook Pro. Be sure to get the higher wattage for larger computers. This unit does not over heat when the USB outlet is in use like I experienced with another product. Great price too.

A very positive surprise that out of the box, directly into the car, it did work as it was described to be.

I highly recommend it to anyone that needs to power a MacBook on the road plus an extra USB port to charge other units.

I have only used this product twice, but have not had any problem with it either time. Cord is plenty long enough, while not so long that you have cord all over your car. the MagSafe portion seems solid enough, and may even be stronger than my home charger. Also I did not even notice when ordering that their is a extra usb port on this charger, should you need to charge something else, so it was like a surprise bonus.

I got this as a gift. While it did do its job, it does it extremely slowly. It takes minimum of 10 to 15 mins to fully pump to about 25 psi from flat or 10 psi. I used it for less than 6 months and it broke. The pump would not produce air while the compressor still operates. I would say that this is for inflating ANYTHING but car tires. The metal part near the gauge gets SCORCHING hot after a while, I got myself a blister when picking it up one time. Shell the extra 20 bucks and get something better. I would not recommend this to anyone.

This is really great to keep in your car. Doesn't last forever, if you use it heavily like I do they last a year or two, then will need to be replaced but for $15 or $20 it's worth it. Great if you get stuck or have a slow leak. Also it comes with adapters for toys and basketballs, ect. Great to keep on hand. We keep one in each of our cars now. It can be a life saver. If you have a big truck or SUV (like my mom's explorer)it can take a bit longer to blow up the tire though, but still it's better to wait an extra 15 minutes than to be stuck there! Also just be careful the metal hose attachment on top can get hot if it running for awhile, so always pick it up by the black plastic parts!Other than that, fantastic product. Highly recomend.

At $6.99 (on sale at my local Harbor Tools), this is a great bargain. It's well worth having one in each of my cars for emergencies, even if it is never use. Used it once, no complaints.

Partly because it is small and light (and therefore easily packed), it's probably ideal for inflating bicycle tires, basketballs, footballs, beach balls, rafts, and air matresses, and other light-duty use. Although it may work in an emergency, I would not recommend it for inflating truck tires.

I use a larger heavier-duty air-pump for routine topping off of my car tires. Q Industries HV35 SuperFlow 12-Volt 140 PSI Air Compressor

I bought one of these little guys almost exactly 1 year ago. I've used it once or twice a week to keep my bike tires inflated to 120psi. It has worked well for this purpose. It's a bit slower than a floor pump for this but it works. Unfortunately the mechanical linkage that couple the motor to the compressor broke yesterday while inflating a tire. The motor still runs fine, just doesn't pump anymore. I guess it's what to expect from something so cheap. However I had expected this to have a longer life. this is reflected in my rating of 3 star.

No on-and-off switch. The only way to stop it is to unplug it. This makes it hard to watch the meter and get the exact pressure.
