SAE Extension Cable (36")

SAE Extension Cable
  • Adapter Cable
  • High Quality
  • Heavy-duty 16 awg wire minimizes voltage drop & wicks heat from the SAE connector. These cables will not overheat when used with heated clothing. Works with all brands of SAE connectors (Battery Tender, Yuasa, Radio Shack)

Excellent adapter allowed me to extend the point where my trickle charger plugs in all the way to the trunk of my bike. Better than leaving the original hanging on the side of the bike.

I used this to connect between the ring connectors on my ATVs and my roof mounted solar powered battery trickle chargers. The only issue I had was the brain-fart on my part... I didn't realize the polarity switched with the use of the extension cable so I ended up killing one battery and totally reversing the polarity of the other (didn't know it was even possible to reverse the poles of a battery but it happened!) Well, after figuruing that out it works great now. So, be careful when using this cord as an extension between to like connectors!!

Kingmys Car Windscreen Suction Mount Holder +Car Charger For Samsung Galaxy S2 SII i9100

Kingmys Car Windscreen Suction Mount Holder +Car Charger For Samsung Galaxy S2 SII i9100When I received this item I was disappointed and I expressed my disappointment and my rating. I wasn't nasty but fair in my judgment. I was contacted by the seller and they agreed to refund my money and send me another one. I did get a full refund and another one. I received pretty much the same type of item I was unhappy with so now I have two. What was my problem with this one? Well it doesn't fit my Samsung Galaxy 2 phone like it advertised. Scratches were developing from me trying to push and squeeze the phone into the mount. It was totally useless to me and I tried to find another use for it but I couldn't. I'd recommend this seller only because they were more concerned about making me happy and willing to go the extra step even if it seemed like a loss to them. I still can't say anything good about this product. So this rating is really more towards the seller than the product. I'd be very careful about buying this particular product, but I'd say buy from this seller without any problems

Coleman CL-3600 Solar Backup Power Kit

Coleman CL-3600 Solar Backup Power KitI bought three of these at Costco for $199 a piece. The charge controller is adequate to the task but there's no display, other than "charging/charged" lights. If you want to know your amps or voltage, you're out of luck (without a separate ammeter).

The power inverter is nice, though at 200W its overkill for a 55W (max) panel set.

At noon in Seattle in early March I saw a peak of 40W in direct sun, so the rating seems realistic. In shade they produce (for me, anyway) about half an amp, which is around 7 watts. If you consider a Gator battery (small motorcycle-style gel battery) is 12Ah, that means it could charge one fully in about 5 hours of sun or 2 days of shade.

I picked up this kit for use on my boat. It's great; I can get out one, two or three panels as I need charging; I even sometimes have one panel out while sailing, which is enough to run my autopilot. It's very good. The charge controller I got works well, too.

HOWEVER, one of the panels I was sent arrived broken. It took me eight weeks of back and forth with ICP solar to get that one panel replaced. What a pain!

I purchased a coleman 45w kit from amazon and was very pleased. The panels were very well packed and looked great. Everything works as it should with no problem. They had them in stock, i received them only 2 days after I purchased them. I would buy them again.

This hands free kit works well. Very good volume. Holds charge for very long and the range is quite good. There are times I may forget to switch it off when not in use and it still keeps charge for long. I would recommend this product.

Go Power! GP-SW1500-12 1500-Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter

Go Power! GP-SW1500-12 1500-Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter
  • 1500 watt continuous pure sine wave inverter 12 volt input
  • 3000 watt surge
  • 2 GFCI protected outlets to plug into
  • Over voltage, under voltage and overload protections
  • 2 Year warranty

I have bought two other brands that have failed. One never did work and I was still charged 20% to return it! I did some research and found the Go Power to be backed by a serious company. After over two years of continuous operation, 24/7/365, it has delivered quality power to my three computers, scanner, laser printer, DVR, satellite controllers, speakers, wave radio, well, you get the picture. Don't mess around with a cheaper product, you'll end up paying more in the long run. With what I know now, I would pay the $950 list price.

I'm a mobile DJ and bought this inverter to power my 4000 watt PA/Lighting system. It replaced a modified sine wave unit that was noisy (static) through the speakers. This unit is completely quiet and actually provides cleaner power then my mains service. It works very well and doesn't seem to break a sweat running the PA and lighting system also powering a laptop, mixer and effects rack. It is light weight and feels very sturdy. All of the connections are good and will accommodate 4ga battery cables. I also like the separate voltage and capacity displays to give me an idea of how much time remains.

This was a real plug and play unit for me since I waws bypassing a modified sine wave inverter. Very solidly built.

The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is there's nothing more than bar readouts for load and voltage and I prefer meters or digital readouts.

Three plus months in operation and I have yet to see any issues.

If needed, I would defintley buy another of these.

It works ok. The only problem is that it can not be hard wired. Runs my frig tv and computer

(originally written for a solar power forum, but applies here too)

OK, I wussed out, and bought a commercial product! We have a small sleeping hut built on the ranch now, but no power in it yet. It's going to take a while to mount a panel, batteries, charge controller, wire up lights and such, and we arrive at nighttime, and no where to plug the CPAP in ! So I spent a couple days pricing out different ways to accomplish this, and settled on a portable jump start pack. Found a model with good reviews (Peak PKC0AZ 450), and no air compressor (that often fails after 50 total minutes of use). Located one in stock at local autoparts store, and bought it, taking a chance it's been parked in a warehouse for a year, and then in the back room for 2 more years, resulting in a flat, sulfated battery. (fully half of the complaints at Amazon)

Other choice was to get a AGM battery, rig up a case, cigar jack outlet, charger and hope it still fits into the car.

Upon opening it up, and throwing a voltmeter on it, I was pleased to find it reading 12.85V on a warm afternoon. It's built-in indicator showed it was 4/5 charged also good. I plugged it's wall wart (transformer, not switcher, 12V, .5A) in, and let it top it off for a couple hours, it came to quiescence at 13.37v, and I unplugged it. After an hour, it read 13.13V. Awesome! And the Respironics power cord (for the CPAP) appears to fit snugly into the Lighter jack.

Using my kill-a-watt before I was shopping, I'd discovered that the CPAP consumed about 75 watt hours in a 6 hour run, and that for 2 nights, I'd consume about 12.5 ah of battery. The "450A packs" claim to have an 18AH AGM battery in them, but I figured, I may as well have a portable unit, than a hulk that will last me a month. And if I only ran it one night (6.25 AH consumed) and then recharged, it'd live a long lifetime. Well, the power brick for the CPAP is a pig. After running all night (6 hours) , the voltage in the AM, read 12.66v Whoo hooo! Internal battery indicator LEDs still showed 4/5 charge, way less drain than the power brick used (all my testing is done with humidifier OFF) so even though the brick read about 3 watts idle, it was using more with a light load.

So, this will recharge at my shop, and I think I'll get a plug in lamp timer, and set that for a 1 hour charge daily, to keep it topped off between visits. And since the shop is on solar power, now my CPAP is too!

Added benefit, the power pack has a LED lamp built in, and a USB power port, so I don't even need a cigar plug Y cord to charge my phone and PDA.

So, I've owned this less than 2 days, but I think it will do the job I need it to, and it's not DOA out of the box. It can also charge via a running car too, but I've not tried that yet, I think I can also feed it from a 3 stage charge controller set for AGM. And it can jump start the tractor too, if I need it.

And it was a lot less than the $$ soft side 14ah CPAP battery pack. I hope the AMA does not come after me!

Buy Peak PKC0AZ 450 Amp Jump Starter Now

I purchased this thinking this was an outright 900amp unit, when I went to pick it up (Advanced Auto)the unit stated 450 starting amps and 900 peak amps, obviously no one was able to tell me what that meant. But I kept it in the spirit of giving it a try. At home, I was able to take a closer look, to see the features. A switch for some workable LEDs, not to bad when you don't have a flashlight around. the DC plug, though I didn't use it yet, looked good. Nice rubber bottom on the unit to help it stay in place. After putting it through an 18hr or so charge, I plugged into a work van (Ford V8) that had a completely dead battery. Hooked up the unit to the battery, and ... nothing. Though I did hear the buzzing noise that my key was in the ignition, just not enough to do anything else. Now I left it for about 20 min. Didn't know if that was either enough or I had it on longer than needed or not enough for that matter, but came back and tried it again. I got into the van and this time the starter was trying to engage, and I kept cranking, either it was going to turn over or die on me again. Well it finally did turn over, which means I will be holding on to the unit, since the other two cars I own are 4 cyl. I have not plugged back into the charger I will see how it runs its course. But simply impressed enough for the price. I did get it at AA over than Amazon was purely price, a preblack Friday special of 50.00 which I thought was excellent at the time for 900 amps... which is really 450 starting amps.

I purchased this with the purpose in mind of using it as a portable power source for things like when I go camping it can provide power for lights, an air mattress inflator, etc. The battery rating of "18 amp/hour" tells you it should be able to run something drawing ~18 amps for 1 hour, 9 amps for 2 hours, etc. I've even tried using it to power a small boat trolling motor for over an hour and it didn't drain it, but I mainly kept the motor on the low setting (using ~8 amps, high would use ~15 amps but I used that only ~10 minute of the time I was out).

The only issues I've had with this unit (why I dropped 1 star) is for charging it, I've had to send power thru the lighter outlet or main jumper cables. The red LED indicating "charging" comes on with it plugged in there, but after leaving it plugged in for an hour there was no increase in voltage. I connect up a charger to the other places and instantly see "12.75V, 12.76, 12.77, etc". Also the switch for the outlets doesn't turn them off, but they work fine. Update Dec 2012: I got the guts to open up the case and on the back of the circuit board, I saw a line of solder going across the switch terminals for the "power outlet" switch. I'm 99% sure that shouldn't have been there, so popped it off and now the switch turns off the outlets.

As far as it living up to it's title of "jump starting" a car, I have doubts. I've tested other units like this finding that just like this battery is ~1/3 the size of a car battery, you won't get but about that much power from it. I dislike the labels like "900 peak amp" to make it sound bigger than a cars battery with "500CCA" (yet I'd bet the only way anyone could get that power for even 1/2 a second from it is by putting a thick metal bar between the clamps). Update Oct-2012: I disconnected my car battery and tried starting my Ford Festiva (4 cyl) with this alone on a morning with it ~40 degrees out. It did start it, but the starter struggled just barely being able to crank it. I tested my car battery the next morning and it's labeled as 500cca, but passed as only a 200cca (showing I need to replace it soon). After doing that test (which drained some power) I started the car off of it and didn't notice anything abnormal, so even with a car battery that's not very good, it seems a lot better than this (perhaps just from it's size and how it's built, perhaps from factors like much better connections thru the bolted on terminals versus thin spring clamps).

The cars battery condition will also play a big role in whether or not this can "boost" you enough. If a cars battery is pretty weak (like from leaving your lights on while you went to a movie for 2 hours) but can still provide some power, this can give you some extra power and has a fair chance of getting you going. But if a cars battery is fully drained (like from leaving lights on all night long) and you hook this up to the dead battery, the dead battery will instantly start "stealing" power (to recharge itself) & probably drain this unit before you can even get from the hood to the driver seat & try to start the car. In that situation I doubt you'll get started without a charging source (an a/c charger or car & jumper cables).

  • Includes 4 AA 2850 mah rechargeable batteries

Schumacher SE-3002 Dual-Rate Manual Charger

Schumacher SE-3002 Dual-Rate Manual Charger
  • Includes both 6 and 12-volt batteries with two charging rates
  • 6-amp charger charges batteries in 6-8 hours
  • 2-amp trickle charge charges a small 12-volt battery in 2-12 hours
  • Features back-lit illumination, is impact-resistant, and has a color-coded meter for work convenience

Own a unlighted version of this charger. Bought this model as a gift for a relative. They preform their function well. Very durable and dependable. Although not as quick charging as higher amp models, it seems to add a bit of longevity to battery life when using low amp charge. The 6 volt side is a plus for garden tractor 6V batteries and the older dual voltage diesel truck batteries. Just a added note that these types of chargers are NOT waterproof. The lighted charge indicator meter is a plus for low light use & letting you know the unit is plugged in. This is a "Manual" charger; one has to check the progress of the charge every so often. It did charge a fully drained group 42 12V battery in 7.5 hours. One thing the other solid state chargers won't do is charge a drained battery. The charging cable and power cord is long enough to use with most under the hood applications. The case is stamped thick sheet metal that is durable to hard bumps and dings. Highly recommended to those who don't need a "super-quick/booster" charger or a "hook & forget" charger.

  • Built using unique Gomadic TipExchange Technology that protects your investment by providing the ability to upgrade charging ports by simply swapping the physical connector.

Works well. Wife and I went on a camping trip and I wanted to make sure I had enough juice for my new Samsung Focus phone. Battery indicator went down to about 1/8 on the phone and the Gomadic charged it up fine. There are four indicator lights on the Gomadic indicating how much juice it has left and after charging the Samsung with about 1/8 left, the Gomadic still had two lights, so I could have gotten more juice if I had needed it. As a plus, the Gomadic has a LCD flashlight. It also allows you to pull out cable and have it fixed in place so you have some slack to use the device while it's being charged. Push a button and the extra cable is pulled right back into the device. Only downside for me was that I was hoping I could have charged it from a wall outlet, but it only gives you the option to charge the Gomadic from a USB connection. Maybe there's an adapter so I can charge from the wall if needed? Anyway, overall I'm pleased with it. Going to keep it in my backpack with me as a backup.

Camco 44953 RV Valve Stem Cap for Standard Tire Valves or Extenders

Camco 44953 RV Valve Stem Cap for Standard Tire Valves or Extenders
  • Screw on
  • Chrome-plated brass
  • Used with standard tire valves or extenders
  • Pack of 6
  • Highly durable

Pros:

* No batteries required.

* Do not appreciable add to the weight of the vehicle.

Cons:

* Did not make my vehicle go any faster or improve my gas mileage.

* These shiny chrome additions did not turn my car into a "chick magnet" ... as I was hoping they would.

These caps did not come with any instructions so I have included the following hints, which I learned from my own experience:

* Install the caps when the vehicle is stopped. It is very difficult to install these on a moving vehicle.

* Turn them in a clockwise direction. For some reason counter-clockwise does not seem to work.

* Remove the caps before trying to inflate the tires.

* Despite the fact that they are covered with a shiny silver-like metal. Do not present these to your wife on your 25th anniversary as your gift.

OK, I'll be serious. These seem to be well made and durable. What else can you say about valve stem caps. I'm happy with mine.

Want Camco 44953 RV Valve Stem Cap for Standard Tire Valves or Extenders Discount?

When I purchased these valve covers I had no idea that almost 2 years later they would cost me $1,000.00 because I installed them on 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid. Until yesterday I had no idea that the valve stems used on tire pressure monitoring sensors are made of aluminum. These valve covers are made of brass and because these are dissimilar metals galvanic corrosion will occur. Since installing these covers I have removed them several times to adjust tire pressures and did not suspect any problems. Last week we had our first cool evening and the next morning the tire pressure monitor indicated low tire pressure so I hauled out the compressor so I could check and adjust tire pressures. Much to my surprise I was unable to remove the valve covers. My first thought was that the auto dealer had cross-threaded them when they rotated the tires about 2 weeks previously. I then used a small wrench to try and remove the covers only to have the stem snap off. I thought that it was a fluke so I went to the next tire and the same thing happened. On the 3rd wheel the stem snapped and the valve core flew out and all the air came out of the tire. I put the donut spare on and the next mornng dropped the tire off at the dealer for repair. An hour later the dealer called to advise that the repair cost would be $250 because I was told that the sensor could not be repaired and had to be replaced. All 4 sensors will have to be replaced, hence the $1,000 repair cost because I lost 2 of the factory valve stem covers because they were slippery and difficult to grip.

You should only use plastic valve stem covers on TPMS equipped automobiles and the product description should include a warning against using this item on TPMS equipped automobiles. Simply stating that these are for standard valve stems is inadequate.

I purchased this mini charger, along with two matching Synergy CRV3 battery packs, for use in my wife's Olymmpus, FL-36R, off-camera electronic flash. The flash normally uses 2 AA alkaline cells. The CRV3 pack is equivalent in voltage and physical size to the 2 AA's. According to the Olympus manual, using lithium-ion packs, or lithium AA cells, will result in shorter recyling time between shots. (The Olympus brand charger and CRV3 packs are no longer available that we could find.) Anyway, the charger worked fine and both Synergy packs charged up as expected. HOWEVER, the Synergy battery packs WILL NOT OPERATE the flash unit! Put 2 AA's in and it works fine. Put the CRV3 pack in and... nothing! A multimeter test showed both packs at the required full-charge voltage of 3.9 volts. Seems the pack contacts are not mating properly with those in the flash body. With plastic guides limiting your choices for insertion, it is impossible to install them any way but the right way. We eventually gave up and purchased NON-rechargable lithium AA cells which work fine, although a bit pricey. So, we have a nice little charger and two battery packs that, right now, we can't use.

Purchased for my daughter's purple Razor Pocket Mod Betty electic scooter. My husband had to pick up a few new connectors at our local Lowe's store to hook up the batteries (very cheap). Once installed, working like a charm! Recommend you pull your scooters into a warm location for cold winter areas or at least pull the batteries out and store them in the warm. Your batteries will last longer and won't blow out.

The battery was almost a perfect replacement to a battery found in the electric moped by Razor. If you're handy, purchase 1/4" Fully Insulated Quick Disconnects. You'll have to clipped the soldered red/black wires from the original batteries and crimp the new connectors so it can attach to the new batteries. It took 5 minutes once I had the connectors. Charged batteries completely and it seems to be a better battery than the orginal Razor battery.

Sunforce 7 Amp Charge Controller

Sunforce 7 Amp Charge Controller
  • Protects battery from overcharge and discharge
  • For use with 12 Volt solar panels and batteries only
  • Handles up to 7 amps of array current and up to 105 watts of solar power
  • Maintains 12V batteries in a fully charged state
  • Operation: Yellow charging light indicates battery charging and green light indicates fully charged battery

Bad:

Really cheap quality. Included instructions don't provide enough information. Website is just as un-informative. Cheap connector wires (low current), and is not equipped with screw-on terminal junctions.

Good: Product works as advertised. Amazinlgly "regulates" the voltage to the required amount so as not to overcharge the battery. Beware though, in order to test the actual output voltage, you must apply a load on the battery end of the controller BEFORE. Failing this, the output can register volts as high as 20 volts !!! Apparently applying an actual load causes the controller to output the correct voltage range lucky me, cause I bought 4 units ! The LEDS alternately flickers (fast for good voltage input and slow for low to no voltage on solar panel). The manual did NOT state the order of LED flashes.

(1) Fast LED flashes good voltage/current

(2) Slow LED flashes low/no voltage/current

(3) steady Green fully charged

(4) steady amber possible no load OR really low voltage/current

I recommend you go out and buy 'em. The are a really good deal and does the job at the best price ! I use them in Jamaica, to provide my appliances with power during power outages (very frequent here). Used with solar panels and DC to AC inverter, of course. Considered using a generator, but too many accidents here with generators, too noisy, too bulky, and during hurricane aftermath, fuel is a problem. Solar is freely available, so it was the BEST option all round.

Hope this helps all readers !

This unit is simply an electronic switch, it is either on or off. The problem with that is that when it is on the full force of a high current is applied to the battery and if the battery is almost charged the battery voltage quickly rises to the cut-off voltage (14.2v). When current is cut off the battery voltage quickly falls to the turn on voltage (13.1v), and the unit turns the current on again. This can happen several times a minute when the current is high and the battery is almost charged. Also, in operating this way, the battery never gets fully charged, which requires a small constant current.

I strongly recommend that anyone considering this unit spend another $10 and buy the vastly superior HQRP 10Amp controller or something similar which controls the amount of current, rather than just switching current on or off.

Two wires to the battery and two wires to the solar panel. It doesn't get much simplier than that. Worked flawlessly out of the box. Yellow LED indicates charging while green LED indicates the battery is charged.

I have this unit connect to two automotive 12V batteries with three 15W panels connect to it. So far the charger works as advertised by preventing battery drain when the sun goes down and charging while the panels are producing at least 13 volts. It is pretty much an install and forget item. Additionally I have those same two batteries tied into one of my trucks 12V power points so that the batteries charge when the vehicle is running by way of the alternator. Even with this double charging set up, the charge controller appears unphased and shows a charge light in the daytime and has on two occasions indicated a fully charged green light.

As a few others have posted, in here, the quality control on this Chinese unit is poor. The wiring on my unit was reversed. Once I set things right, the unit worked correctly for about four months before complete failure. My battery died in the bargain, due to the unit failure that allowed my battery to drain completely with no load on it except this unit and the solar panel. I'll try one more and then update this review. Update: I just ordered: KINTREX SPC0601 Solar Charge Controller 7Amp, 100 Watt,... At just $10, on this site, it's a far better deal and has an extra indicator light for low charge condition. The connectors should mate up perfectly if the pictures are accurate. As far as the reversed wiring goes, in all electrical applications with connectors, an exposed contact is normally the ground, coming from a power source. The hot side is recessed and/or shielded to keep you from grabbing it and then a grounded object or contact, which would result in a shock. This scheme is reversed, obviously, in the non-powered side of the circuit, ie., the thing you're sending the power to that mates with the connection just described. When I called Sunforce's rep, in Canada, and spoke with him, he denied knowledge of any other incidents of reversed wiring. That's really curious, as others have posted about the reversals, as I mentioned, above. UPDATE: 4/2011The Kintrex unit works flawlessly. You are well-advised to go with it and leave the reviewed unit, as above, alone. It costs much more and is inferior.

New Potato Technologies TuneLink Auto Bluetooth in Car Stereo Wireless Adapter for iPhone, iPod Touc

New Potato Technologies TuneLink Auto Bluetooth in Car Stereo Wireless Adapter for iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad - - 1001-01002Basically, this peripheral is an expensive ($90) dongle that plugs into the power port in your car and connects to your phone (and other phones) via bluetooth. You can then either plug the dongle directly into your stereo via audio cable (short ~1 foot cable included) or it can also act as an FM transmitter. As far as I can tell, if you only want to stream via cable it doesn't matter if you have an iOS device or any other bluetooth enabled music device. I think you should be able to connect and stream music, though you will be lacking on a lot of the features of the device. I also haven't tried this yet so don't buy it with that specifically in mind as it is labeled as for iphone and ipod touch.

The dongle itself has just 2 jacks in the front of it, one for the audio cable and one for a USB cable. It says that it provides enough power to be able to charge the iphone / ipod as well as an iPad, if that's what you're hoping for. There are no buttons on the dongle to initiate a connection. This causes problems if you are listening to something while your car engine isn't on and then you turn it on. The connection will die and won't try to re-connect so the only thing you'll be able to do is either pull out your phone and tell it to reconnect or pull the adapter out of the port and plug it back in.

The device is controlled via your phone using an app from the app store. The app provides you the ability to find good radio frequencies that should best work with the FM transmitter and set the station the dongle will broadcast at. You can also use it to manage the currently playing song or handle the music that is currently playing. You can name your specific Tunelink device, set a default location (to help with FM frequency help) and set up options to automatically connect, automatically start playing, and even automatically load the TuneLink application when it connects.

An additional feature of this is the capability to have multiple people in the car connect to the adapter and share playback of the music through the Tunelink application. There are different modes that you can set it to to change how this works (automatically queuing, requesting to play something, etc). I have not tried this so I can't speak to how well it works.

Finally, the important bit of sound quality though I might not be the best judge. I have only used mine with a direct connection but it sounds as if my phone were directly connected to my stereo. I haven't tried out the FM transmitter portion yet, but one of the reviews on Amazon indicated it sounds "Very Very Decent" and other reviews I've read have said that it sounds really good, though suffers from the same problems as all FM transmitters.

Overall I'm VERY happy with my purchase. The convenience of just getting in my car and having my music start up as if I've got a CD in the player is great. Having the charge port on there makes it great for normal usage even if you're low on battery and it comes with a cable so no need to get another one or carry one with you. Sorry for the wall of text, but hope this helps.

Pros:

Easy connect

No hassle

FM Transmitter / Direct Audio link

Sharing?

Cons:

No control from the device (need to use a headset and voice commands or take your phone out to control things)

Can't force a reconnect on the device

Cost

This product gives me a high quality audio connection between my iPhone 3GS and Mazda3 factory stereo. It pairs easily from the first time and then I do not need to do anything to re-pair it. On short rides, I do not even take the phone out of my pocket as soon as I start the engine, in few seconds music just starts playing where it stopped last time. Of course I use AUX connection to my stereo to avoid any potential static in the city but I tried FM for a couple of days as well and it's very, very decent, volume is not much different from radio stations, and very clear sound if you take care to choose an empty frequency as you should anyway. Also, I set FM Volume to LOW for most clear sound. I can listen to Alan Parson's and Pink Floyd over FM just fine, to my surprise. Dynamic range and frequency response seem to be excellent.(this section of review is updated after weekend testing). I had other FM transmitters before and the sound never was that clear.

So I'm keeping it no questions; and it offers sharing the connection with other people in my car kids love that.

so, to be short, I am done with my car audio upgrades. Tunelink is not cheap but it's MUCH cheaper than to buy and install aftermarket ipod-enabled or bluetooth stereo; besides, it's portable. Oh yes, it charges the phone too, and even the cable is included.

Negatives? hmmm... well, it requires having an iPhone or touch.. though I've heard they have Droid version now.

This thing was fabulous while it worked. It dropped signal a couple of times but nothing that unplugging/replugging in didn't fix. Unfortunately, the return window (through Amazon)expired today and it just so happens that as I was leaving for a road trip it quit working entirely. It's not communicating with the radio OR the application. It still has a pretty blue light but yeah not what I bought it for.

Update #1 New Potato has a one year warranty on their products so once I am home from my road trip I will contact them and exchange the defective equipment.

Update #2 Contacting the company was quick and painless as was getting a replacement once I sent them the defective unit. The last unit worked for month so I can't really judge the new one until that time has passed but so far so good. At the very least, New Potato is great.

Update #3 (November 2012) In the last month I've no longer needed this but it still works all this time later.

Setup, (if you even want to call it that), totally consists of plugging the Tunelink device into a powered outlet, plugging the AUX cable into the Tunelink and into car AUX port, pairing the Tunelink with your iphone and that's it. Done deal. Sounds quality is better than my factory installed XM radio. Tunelink is rock solid and I highly recommend it.

I must say that I was expecting to be dissapointed because of the price. But, this Tunelink worked better than I would have ever thought. The only draw back is that it plays the last song played as soon as you turn your car on. You can turn your bluetooth off in the settings to avoid this. But then again, it is a much cheaper alternative than having to rewire your sound system which I was ready to do. I have a 2007 Infiniti G-35 with bluetooth, but does not have bluetooth audio. I was tired of having to connect my iPhone with the audio cable in order to hear music. This worked and sounded better than expected. I gave this four stars only because it starts playing music before you ask it to. But on the other hand, the sound is so much better than CD or XM. You will not be dissapointed. It is awesome to get in the car and not have to look for the cable to hear music. It just plays, and sounds beyond your expectations. This is my first review that I write, and I felt I had to do it. I have always been the person that read reviews on items before purchasing them, and I never took the time to write a review. But with this one I had too. It is pretty impressive how such a small device can deliver such amazing sounds and connectivity. I have not tried the FM tuner, so I cannot comment on it. But, if you have an iPhone and bluetooth in your car, give it a try, for $90.00 you can't go wrong. I only hope that the manufacturer can correct the auto start on the music. But that can be me being spoiled. The more technology advances the more we expect. I was ready to spend over $300 to rewire my car just to have bluetooth audio. Sometimes we have to suck it up and make adjustments. Just being able to not have to connect a cable to my iPhone and hear the rich music with full bass and without engine noise is awesome. The sound is flawless. Let me know if it worked out for you.

A great ergonomically designed little jump start unit.

I love the fact that it can be left plugged in perpetually

and will take care of itself. I'm not mechanically inclined

so the less I need to do the better.

The only complaint I have about it is that it doesn't come

with a cord to plug into the wall. You have to get a heavy

duty extension cord to connect it to the wall, and they

never tell you that when you are reading the product

description. For the price of this item, I think it should

come with a simple short extension cord.

If it weren't for my All in One, I would have been dead in the water, literally, on Lake Lewisville in Texas. Needless to say, we ran the stereo & fish finder WAY longer than we should have and found ourselves stuck in a cove in the middle of nowhere. We brought the all in one, with the intention of just using it to inflate to tubes for the kids, but the Jump Start feature is what really saved us. I didn't even realize that it had a light on the handle (thank you wife for noticing) but that came in handy too trying to jumpstart a boat in the dusk while mosquitoes were starting to attack! I have since recommended it to many of my co-workers and fishing buddies.

I spent a few weeks researching different jump starters and I wanted something that was easy to use, had a built in float charger, air compressor and was cost effective.

This unit fit the bill and the additional features (plug-ins) is a bonus.

These boxes are basically a battery you charge and use it to start your car when your battery is dead. When you charge batteries you must be careful NOT to overcharge...meaning, you can not just plug them in and leave them until you are ready to use them 1, 2, 9 months later. The overcharge will literally cook the battery and render it useless. Suprisingly there are very few jump boxes on the market with built in float chargers...meaning, when the battery is fully charged it will go into a float mode and trickle charge the battery not overcharge.

I have used this box 5-6 times over the last 4 months and it has performed flawlessly...even started our 2005 Diesel truck and that takes some power!

Agree with many of the other users the box should come with a cord to plug it in...another $10 at the store and the cables could be just a touch longer as it is sometimes difficult getting to a grounded location with the negative cable.

All in all I knew about the need for a power cord and cable length going in and I felt this was the best product for the price...value!

I bought this charger to replace an old charger (Duracell brand) that had worked wonders for me for years...but finally gave out. This Energizer charger works really well and includes an air compressor, with which I topped off all four tires (added 10 psi to each tire...I know I waited too long to inflate them) and it worked like a champ. Only drawback this charger has is it needs an extension cord to charge it (spent less than $10 on a 12ft one from H--D----). This model has a built in sensor to avoid overcharging, so you can leave it plugged in until you need it without overcharging the battery. Very happy with this purchase.

This jump-starter, air compressor, inverter, is of excellent quality and usefulness. As mentioned in other reviews, it would be nice if they included an AC power cord; and possibly a DC power/charging cord for the price. This is a fairly large unit and takes up a large amount of room in a trunk or the back of a station wagon/hatchback. It charges fast and has plenty of reserve power to start our motor home or inflate large tires. Great carry handle.

UPDATE 19 May 2011: The user manual was missing. Now I need it to check something. Item itself is pretty user friendly. Tried to download manual on website from manufacturer (UPGI.com) but no manuals or documents available from support. None available from Energizer. Tried Google. No one has uploaded manual yet. Finally found support 800 number for UPG Inc. which is also a wholesale/retail sales number. Nice lady answered. She took my name, email, telephone, address, etc. Said she would "look around" for one and send it "somehow" if she finds one.

Apparently, this is a "marketing arrangement" where they buy the use of the Energizer name, then import and distribute it.

Design pretty good. Sales-marketing good. Support not so good. Technical support essentially non-existant. Downgraded to two stars. Will post another update if I ever get the manual.

Generac 5943 GP7500E 9,375 Watt Generator with Electric Start

Generac 5943 GP7500E 9,375 Watt Generator with Electric StartAfter our recent tornadoes we decided the ability to have hot showers etc warranted the purchase of a portable generator. Calculated the watts we needed and we needed the top end of the portables.

Looked at several and ordered what I thought was a GP8000 however got a GP7500. Amazon adjusted the price as they will not accept anything that may contain gasoline back even unopened. Amazon now has the right one listed.

Assembly was easy attached wheels handle etc no prpblems with assembly and it fired up and ran smoothly. There is a quirk you should be aware of. The generator does not recharge the starter battery. It takes a seperate plug in charger to keep the generator's battery charged.

Alredy had the house set up to simply flip switchs and have it on generator power but before we plugged it in the house circuit I decided to plug some 110 volt tools into it to test it. My Bosch drill ran and sparked like I had never seen before so I decided to get the volt meter out. Good thing this unit was generating 170 volts. Talking about frying electronics or just about anything else in the house! HOT HOT HOT!

Contacted Generac and was told to take it to the nearest repair station which is a 180 mile round way trip for delivery and picking back up.

Loaded the beast up in the truck with my motorcycle ramp. If you do not have a pick up truck/SUV/trailer plus at least three helpful neighbors or a ramp you may have just bought an exoensive boat anchor. Delivered it to the repair station and the three techs helped unload.

It has now been six weeks waiting for the unit to be repaired and all I am getting is we ordered the parts.

If you have a pick up, tie downs, a ramp, an accesible repair center and a couple of months to wait for warranty repairs then you might want to consider buying a Generac generator. If any of the previous does not apply to you then consider getting a brand that is sold in a brick and motar place so if you have a problem you could swap or get a refund for a defective unit.

One final bit of advice; before buying use a usage list to calculate how much watts you will need. Keep in mind that most transfer switchs only handle 7,500 watts if you need more power to run your basics.

Purchased this generator locally here in CT in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene.

No power for 5 days, this genset is running 15 hours per day with no issue whatsoever.

I have it back-fed into my breaker panel, powering well pump, refridgerators, lights, microwave, garage door openers, dsl modem, wifi and complete home network.

I've been getting 14 hours of run time from a single tank of gas, call it 10 gallons. More than I thought possible. Last night, ran a bunch of appliances, trying to max the genset out, and after 5 hours, had used only 2.5 gallons of gas.

The genset is noisy, but I've got behind a pool shed, so it doesn't bother us much at all.

Highly recommended. Make sure to buy the NEMA 30 Amp plug, part number NEMA 14L 30P when you order this so you can plug directly in to the 220v side of the generator.

Update. Today is 11/12/11. Here in CT, we're just coming off of an 8 day power outage as a result of a large snowstorm. This time we really needed power in order to run the heat in our house, as it was 30 degrees for several days. Luckily we had this generator fueled up and ready to go after buying it for Irene.

It ran flawlessly 24 hours / day for 8 days. It consistently ran between 12 and 14 hours on a full fuel tank of 8 gallons. I'm happy to say we had enough extra juice to run a 250' extension cord to our neighbors house for lights and a small heater. I now have 250 hours on the clock.

I run this generator in our small 10'x12' pool shed, and have fabricated an exhaust pipe extension to run the exhaust out of the building.

Highly recommended for cheap (buy noisy) back-up power

Ordered this after 4 power outages this summer, not to mention the outage last winter that was 3 days in 10-15 degrees F. Overall this unit is impressive for the price per watt. I was hoping that this generator was made in Wisconsin but it is not. Rather it is made in China. That being said there are high quality products that come out of China, you just have to find them. Assembling the unit only took about 20 minutes.

Here are some quick specs:

The engine is a 420cc, 14HP air cooled 4-stroke with overhead valves (OHV) w/electric start (battery included). The surge rating is 9375W with a 7500W running watts rating. The fuel tank holds 8 gallons and is rated 12 hours @ half load for run time.

Here is an easy way to assemble the unit:

1. First was remove it from the box by cutting the box off and leaving the generator on the pallet. This will assist with the next step installing the wheels.

2. Remove the (2) axles from the package with hardware (nuts, bolts, and a (1) litre bottle of SAE30 motor oil). You will also need the two cotter pins, and two flat washers. Here is a trick I found when installing the axles. One axle will not fit so that the cotter pin end is inside the wheel due to a lower motor mount. I can not remember which side it was, but you will see it. So the trick is to put one axle in one direction, and the other axle in the reverse. This means that the motor mount side will have the cotter pin so it is not viewable in the center of the wheel when looking from the side. The other side will have the cotter pin viewable from the side. The other option is to jack up the engine (very carefully) and remove the motor mount so the axle can be installed. Whichever method you choose remember to install a thin film of grease as the wheels are without axle bearings.

3. Next I would suggest adding the motor oil. I have this step as third because the unit needs to be on a flat level surface to confirm that the 1.06 Quart (one litre) bottle of oil is sufficent to fill the oil to the proper full level. Remove the yellow dipstick tube along the bottom of the engine in the front of the unit. Empty the entire bottle slowly. I had to use a funnel as it is awkward to add oil with out spilling it due to the bottle and the angle of attack that must be used to fill the engine oil. After the oil is installed screw in the dipstick and unscrew it to confirm that is to the top on the stick on FULL.

4. Add some fuel (unleaded 85 octane rating or higher)

5. Make sure the fuel valve OFF for now, side to side is OFF and up and down is ON.

6. Either use the electric start (battery should have a charge as mine did) or use the recoil-start to turn the engine over 4-5 times (you don't want it to start yet). The purpose of this step is to properly lubricate the internal engine parts before the engine starts. This is not even mentioned in the manual, but if you want it to last a long time I would highly suggest this step. This is not a pressurized oil system (there is no oil filter to filter the oil and no pump to spray oil in vital areas). This type of air-cooled engine works by slinging oil off from the crankshaft located at the bottom of the engine to lubricate the piston and other moving parts such as bearings. The Amazon description when I bought mine said it was a pressurized system but I knew it was incorrect because I looked up the info on Generac's website.

7. Now you can turn the fuel valve ON (give it a few seconds to fill the carburator bowl) then also move the choke to the left which is the ON position. Make sure the switch is set to RUN if pull starting, and Start if your using your electric start. One interesting thing you may want to know about the battery is that the generator on this model does not charge the battery. The unit does come with a small charger that plugs into the front of the switch panel and into a regular 120 volt outlet. You will need to charge the battery ocassionaly to keep it ready to start the generator. Overall not a big deal.

8. Now step 8 is up to you, but I would suggest reading the manual when you have time. Also make sure to install a ground cable and also get a auto-transfer switch, if you will be hooking this to your meter or fuse box. For us the cheapest option for the transfer switch was to call our electric coop that installs the switch for free, but you need to buy $550 transfer switch. By using the transfer switch you will not need a bunch of extension cords running all over and getting shut under a door. All your normal outlets and appliances, well pumps, washer/dryer all still plug into the house normally through the outlets. Now you wont be able to run all that stuff at once with this unit but there are some generators that can. One cord is then run into the fuse box (consult an electrician) or installed into your meter (call your provider to see if they offer a auto-transfer switch, this saved us at least $2000 versus the electrician/fuse box option. So that's it other than the silly stuff like don't ever use it indoors, or in confined spaces and read the manual!

Hope this help some in making the decision. Overall thanks Amazon.com for an outstanding transaction from price to delivery. Took awhile to get to me but with free shipping I sure didn't mind. Very good quality unit that is made in China. Remember folks they make good quality stuff and bad quality stuff just like any where else, but from my experience this is a very good generator for the price. Remember to change that oil after the first 30 hours, and after that you are safe to go 100 hours between an oil change according to Generac. The hour meter will remind you when its time to do the scheduled maintenence, see the manual on hour to clear it after maintenance if you plan on doing this yourself.

Best of luck and I know you will like it. Quit reading all the reviews and just get it. Wish I would have had mine 5 power outages ago...

I just purchased Generac GP7500E generator with electric start. Although there are 12 volts on the battery terminals, and I recharged it twice to make sure, nothing happens when I push the start switch. Generac referred me to a local repair shop. The shop will look at my generator but I will have to pay for transportation from and back to my home. Generac will not reimburse me for this expense necessary to fix their faulty brand new product. They said they will not take the malfunctioning product back either. Generac took my money when I bought their product. Now, I have to pay more money to get their product fixed before I even started using it.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this brand as they will not support their product. I purchased a generac generator because it was highly recommended by a friend. It arrived in an un-damaged box strapped to a wooden pallet but when I started to assemble it I noticed damage to the starter housing. When I contacted generac they had me take it to one of their service centers, they informed me that if the repair wasn't approved by the manufacturer that I would be charged, needless to say this concerned and infuriated me. When I contacted generac again they tried to blame the shipper for the damage and told me that it would depend on what the repair shop said. After the service center examined the generator and agreed that the damage had to have occurred prior to being packaged and shipped generac still refused to repair the generator. It hasn't run and hasn't even had fluid in it; and they refuse to make it operational. They say that I have to go through the shipper to get it repaired. Well it's going back to generac and I will be buying another brand, maybe a Briggs and Stratton. They don't even seem to care that they will be loosing a customer. So do yourself a favor and avoid this brand as they will not support their product.
