There are several comments about static. You can remove the static by turning the volume on high on the mp3, and adjusting the radio volume. This immediately removes the static.

It worked first time for me. Looks like some people have had trouble. It worked on the channel like it came set -the lowest one (107.6?). If I wiggle the plug into the headphone jack, I get static -so I stopped wiggling. I have a 1-ton, 4WD truck with a stiff suspension and I've yet to hit a bump that causes the static.

Sound is clear and good quality. The thing is only about 2.5" long so it fits anywhere. 12V adapter is great & no replacing batteries (2) AAA's. If you don't want the power cord, it unplugs from the transmitter.

It seems that a dozen sellers market this thing under different names. It's so much cheaper than the others that it's worth a try, even if you decide you'd rather pay more for high-end unit. The expensive ones probably use the same electronics in a bigger box. ;")

I received the transmitter yesterday. Here is what I learned:

1. You need to have batteries in the device to let it transmit. If you just use the supplied car adapter, you get nothing.

2. Be very careful turning the power on. Apparently, I pressed too hard and now the button is stuck in the on position. I'll be getting a screwdriver out to open up the unit and see why it is permanently on.

3. Be careful how hard you pressed the power when turning it on. The transmitted sound comes with a lot of static if you pressed to hard.

4. Sound quality is poor. I expected some reduced quality from the unit to my speakers, but the filtering just seemed like too much.

I am glad this only cost me $5.53 including shipping. I figured that if I had a bad experience, I could warn others and then drop $40 on a decent unit. If it worked, I would have saved about $25. I took the risk and lost. I've ordered the MBL-FM XMTR300 (Monster RadioPlay 300 Universal Full Spectrum FM Transmitter for $38.13).

I've owned a similar item, the only difference was that it operated on 88.1 to 88.9 which worked great almost everywhere, but ended up short circuiting and I would struggle to receive a signal, so I decided to purchase this item. I plugged it in and it works great in Eastern Idaho, but I drove to SLC and attempted to use this item and all I received was static or feedback from other stations. I recommend this item if you live in a rural area that doesn't use 106.? as a radio frequency.

Very impressed by the quality of this device, considering the low price. Some times you have to position it a certain way to get the best quality sound without static, but not a big deal. I purchased an additional one for my son, and he loves it.

The RCA USB HOME NIGHTLIGHT CHARGER is a wall plug nightlight and USB charger. It has a light sensor on the front so that it can determine how bright the nightlight should be. Overall, it's a rather large device for what it does. A couple of points here:

1. The USB charger works for all my iOS devices, including my iPad 2. But it doesn't support my Blackberry or my daughter's cell phone. I've seen this before with other USB chargers and I don't understand it. Isn't there a standard? Isn't it called Universal Serial Bus (USB) for a reason? UNIVERSAL? Since I don't understand why it doesn't work on my Blackberry, I can't ding the charger. But it's still frustrating.

2. The light was bright for about a week. Ever since, it has been very dim, despite the ambient light level. Covering the light sensor seems to have no effect. So either the sensor or the LED is faulty.

I can't really recommend this device since the light is far too dim to be useful. As I said, out of the package, it was very bright, but that was short-lived.

I was disappointed that the light on this went out after about 3 months of use. It still works as a charger, though. Until the light completely stopped working, it was a nice, little night light giving off just the right amount of light. Given the light's short life span, however, I would not recommend this product to anybody.

The product is functional and especially useful for travel so I am not sure why it is called a home device. Older hotel rooms often lack outlets to charge the many items we all travel with. I also travel with a night light which I often have to leave unplugged to charge a device however, with this nightlight charger the problem is solved. It covers only one plug and is reliable and easy to use. Of course the nightlight charger is functional and useful for your home as well.

A nightlight and charger all in one can be a very handy tool! This one is handy, but not the most effective of products.

It definitely charges well. It obviously isn't anything fancy just a straight-up USB charger. But that can be handy, especially when you don't have an outlet adapter to attach to your USB charger cord. With four Kindles, two Fires, and two smart phones in our household, we'll take all the charging adapters we can get!

I did notice the comments of several people about the brightness of the night light function. I noticed that at first, as well. But, within a couple of weeks, the light had dimmed considerably. At that point it also seemed that the sensor had stopped sensing the difference between night and day. The bulb seems to put out the same amount of light whether it is dark or light in the room. As for the amount of light, it seems good enough to serve as a nightlight for a child if it is plugged in very, very close with nothing blocking the light. But it will not help illuminate a room for middle of the night trips to the restroom.

The product is worthwhile for the charger, but I'd go elsewhere for a nightlight.

I saw this radio at a recent Indiana hamfest. I almost bought it there but decided not to due to never having heard of this brand. After researching it online and reading reviews I decided to find one. So far the radio seems to work great!!! After getting it programmed I took it out for a test trial. All in all both transmit and receive quality was excellent.

As with the reviews I strongly suggest getting the programming cable and software. The only issue I had was having to find the updated cable driver and radio software since my PC wouldn't recognize either. Just a few minutes of searching online and I was good to go.

This is my first dual band ht, and I would recommend it. I bought the radio, cable and speaker mic for under $100 including shipping. Also the extra batteries are pretty cheap.

I picked this sucker up for $30 from Fred Meyer, after they made it clear that they had no other options available for charging my iPod from my computer (I was on vacation with no cord and a dead battery). I was only expecting it to last throughout the vacation, but I've been using it ever since.

I keep the car charger in my car, with no extra cables to burden it, and I keep the wall charger plugged into the wall. The cable retracts easily, with a design much like that of a window blind (pull until you let go, where it locks, and then pull a bit more and let go to release).

It's a small, unobtrusive, and incredibly convenient device for your iPod, and at this price, it's a steal. You'd pay two or three times this at some electronics stores for the wall charger or car charger alone, let alone one that is so solidly constructed.

On paper (i.e., computer screen) it looks like an unbeatable deal. In person, though, it looks and feels cheap, and performs accordingly.

I used both chargers with the retractable dock cord on several trips. They worked fine for about 3 months, then the car charger died.

When I called BargainCell for a replacement, they told me I'm out of luck. The items are only guaranteed by BargainCell for 30 days, and they can't even refer me to the manufacturer because the product "comes from China and there is no warranty."

Luckily I'm only out a few bucks because this package is so cheap. But I now have the hassle of researching and buying a replacement. Don't make the same mistake I made!

this small adapter allows you to charge anything away from home. It plugs into the cigarette lighter socket (should we call these power sockets by now?) and then you can plug your device into either a USB port OR a regular plug socket just like at home.

Well, I will give it one star because I have to and one more because it worked great for a week then started to get loider. I bought it off Woot for $8 + shipping and could not get them to replace it. I guess it has a manufacturer Warranty but have not tried that yet. The problem it that it made a rattling noise and sounds as if something is stuck in it. Then it starts to smell as if it is about to catch on fire. Great, that is the last thing I needmy truck to burn down. I will not use it if I am not with it.

Other downsides. The charging port is on the same side as the power cord that you plug in. This is awkward. You can only charge one at a time or it gets loud. Never tried it on an airplane but I guess that would be one place that the amount of noise it makes would not matter. Mine did not come with it's little cary case as it was supposed to.

I ordered one from Ace Scrape Metal (?) on the 21st of June. It arrived on June 29th--a reasonable amount of time, considering it took them a couple of days to ship it. The photo is not correct, as the model has 2 LEDs at the bottom of the charger. I do like one thing about it especially well. The leads have terminal ends that are held in place with bolts. This makes it nice for two reasons: First, you can take them off for storage, travel, etc. Second, if you want to attach Power Poles, you don't have to cut the original leads. You can simply fasten the end terminals to the leads, and then use the Power Poles directly to the battery. I don't like having alligator clips on blade terminals of batteries. There is too much chance they can slip. I solved this problem for the time being, by using electrical tape to keep the leads in place, and put my Power Pole connection (to my radio) between the terminals. That way, if they do slip, there won't be a short circuit. I will make separate charging leads with Power Poles and spade terminals. I like the PSC-12800A-C, as the price is right. Although my AGM SLA battery is 9 amp hours, the charger actually only goes from 4-8 amp hours--not the 4-12 as the ad states. However, I called Power-Sonic and a tech advised me that it was so close that it would not harm my battery--it would just take longer to charge. The next size up had prices ranging from $75-90. That is a lot more to get one more needed amp hour. I like the $25 much better. So, the ad has the wrong picture and the wrong amp rating. Actually, my Power-Sonic battery I bought had a pic of a different model, and that was from a different company. Summarizing it--the charger is an intelligent charger, is compact, priced right and I'm glad I bought it.

I use this charger for "overnight" charging of various PowerSonic sealed lead acid batteries (4-10AH). It seems to do the job. I bought it because it was small and easily carried in a travel kit. The red and green status lights are appreciated. So far, no problems. Incidentally, this model does not have a DC pigtail, you have to furnish that. No problem for me as I made up a short pigtail with Anderson PowerPole connectors to fit my specific needs.

I am very happy with this product. The GPS I'm using it on is an early 2720, and my impression is that this one is a better unit than was included with the original. It appears to be a Garmin-built cable, complete with the Garmin logo molded into it. The piece that fits into the back of the GPS itself had gotten so loose over time that it wouldn't hold reliably, and I think the wire in the pivoting part attached to the speaker is broken as well. In all fairness, I used it pretty hard...I had it on a motorcycle, and it was on and off countless times before it finally wore out. The new plug fits snugly on the back, with no concern about it coming loose, and the speaker is loud and clear. I'm not at all sorry I spent the few extra dollars for this unit...it is the real deal, and I have no hesitation about recommending that someone else purchase it.

I was talking with my bro who was at my house and i was at my parent's 1.9 miles as crow flies. There was static yet understandable. It's not a clear view of my house. There are a couple small hills and one apartment complex between us and power lines right by my house. I could only hear him when i went in the backyard. Stand up to being submerged just make sure the headset plug is lodged tight.

headsets and VOX is semi useless, I can't get it to have the right sensitivity.

This is a good 2-way radio that works in all weather conditions and it is not afraid of rain or snow. The radio has a large number of combinations between channels and privacy codes which allows you to talk only to the intended party.

The sound from the loudspeaker is a bit muffled and metallic but this is because this radio can float in water. The additonal level of protection requires some compromises.

The radio is virtually useless if one or both of the parties are in buildings even only a couple of miles away. The limitations of power output may prevent you from connecting. I have not tested the radio outdoors at large distances and direct visibility with no obstructions.

It was easy to obtain a GMRS license from FCC online. The cost is $85 for a 5-year license. The original license was mailed to me.

So I bought this because 1) it could do 6V and 12V and 2) it had a digital display for voltage and percent charge. It chooses automatically between 6 and 12V fine. The display however, seems quite off. The voltage is ~0.2V off vs a multimeter, but to be fair the resolution is only 0.1V so its hard to say exactly how off it is. The percent charge, which I was most interested in, appears way off. I had a 6V motorcycle battery that sat all winter, read ~3.5V before charging. I hooked it up, on the slow trickle charge setting recommended for small batteries, and it read 90% state of charge to begin. The SOC rose quickly to the high 90's, where it sat for quite awhile until fully charged. I understand there are a lot of battery types and sizes out there, so this may be hard to calculate, but I thought everyone should have a proper expectation about it. I like to monitor this type of information, which is why I elected for this model with SOC display (I didn't really need the 12A). Now I wish I would've just went with a more basic model.

Other Good:

It does kick out automatically to a maintenance mode once fully charged, and automatically start charging after a power loss.

Other Bad:

The fan is loud, and there is no on/off switch (you must unplug it). Also, while charging, the display switches between the SOC and the voltage setting(6 or 12). It would be more helpful to see an actual real-time voltage instead of what setting it is on. To check voltage status with the unit, you must abort charging and put into testing mode, then go back to charging.

I didn't read the instructions before using this charger! Who does?? Well... BIG MISTAKE! I ended up ruining my device. I bought this charger to replace the charger I lost for my Summer Infant Day and Night Handheld Color Video Monitor with 1.8" Screen Silver. Because I inserted the tip into the plug using the wrong polarity and voltage, I fried my baby video monitor. I eventually fixed the monitor, but one of the buttons stopped working on it permanently due to power overload and it no longer works if it's not connected to the charger. Minus 1 star because the USB port does NOT simultaneously work when the charger is charging one of the tips! That really sucks cause I thought I would be able to charge my baby monitor AND cell phone/ipod at the same time from the same outlet!

This Powerline Universal AC adapter can be used in place of disposable batteries. In addition, there is an USB power port for devices that draw power via an USB cord. You can usually find the information right next to the power socket of your electronic device. Install the plug by lining up the + or symbol with the word "Tip" on the plug receptor of the cord. The wrong polarity may harm electronic gadgets with delicate integrated circuits. It is therefore best to obtain the polarity information ahead of time.

I bought it as a companion to an electronic and unfortunately it didn't work, tested it with other items and it works just fine! Ended up returning the other piece but keeping this charger. I have gone around testing it with other electronics like my cell phone using the USB port and it also works. I am really happy with this purchase!

This adapter does not allow you to use the USB port at the same time as the universal tip part. Also, the 1.3A rating is for the tip portion only. The USB portion is a mere 300mA.

I am enjoying my Rhino 520 very much. The radio is much better than the lower power models. The color screen is much easier to read than the black and white models I have used. Downloading Topo maps is time consuming but worth the effort. I am very disappointed the gps does not work with Apple computers. I spent a hour at the Apple store with an expert trying to get the gps to work with my IMac and was unsuccessful. Overall however I am very happy with my Rhino.

This unit does everything you need. It is very good on battery life. The only thing I don't like is the center button is too small and sensitive making it hard to push it down without moving the cursor of the intended target.

crappy offline maps cost $129 per region in addition to the cost of the unit? Insane. I'm going back to my cell phone.

That aside, great rugged design, decent options. My cell can do everything this unit can + 1000x more, but cannot be dropped in the water.. i think I'll take the chance with my cell phone, but a good unit if this was about 5 years ago.

Garmin needs to catch up with the times because this wont fly any longer. No maps on a mapping unit, you must pay extra. It may not be a surprise for normal Garmin users, but no maps with a mapping device is just beyond silly.

range is more like 4-5 miles which is twice as far as 120 model.

larger color screen & 14hour rechargable battery life make the Rino 520cx one of the best gps on the market . I got these ones for for other people.

I unit I received has a very bright blue light LED for the power indicator and was very distracting while driving. I put a sticker on top of the light to fix it.

Otherwise it works perfect. It doesn't have a traffic receiver, but better than using a UBS adapter with USB cable that would bring the GPS into PC sync mode.

This car adapter turns the GPS on just like the OEM charger with traffic receiver, but very inexpensive.

The coiled cable keeps no wire clutter from socket to GPS, works perfect for me, probably not for everyone.

This adapter puts my Garmin GPS unit into the computer connect mode, so it's not suitable for its intended purpose of providing power for use. Additionally the curly cord is too short. The seller authorized a return but will not pay for shipping. Shipping would eat up the refund, so it's a loss. Stay away from this one.

This charger does just what it should at a price that's far below the OEM cost. But the picture doesn't show how short the output cable is, only about half the length of the Garmin original. The cord is coiled, but it's quite stiff and doesn't stretch out too easily. Still, it was long enough for my small car; other users might find this too short for them. Also it's a straight plug for the receiver, while the original has a right angle one. This makes the plug stick out farther in the back. And coupled with the short cord, it puts some extra strain on the receiver power jack. I just needed to move the Garmin a little on the windshield, but again this may be a concern for some users. I docked this adapter a star because of these issues.

Other than the short cable, this is a great value. It powers and charges the receiver just like the original, and you can't beat the price. I have no idea how long it will last, but if I need to replace the charger again I'll probably come back for another of these.

I took a chance on this charger not seeing any reviews. It fit my Tomtom 920 without shorting it out. It seems as well made as any of the other Chinese crap out there. I didn't expect it to be made of iron and brass. Although I would pay more for one that was. All in all I'm happy with the company and product. I like the idea of the interchangeable tips. You can actually tell that the person who designed and made this product rides a motorcycle. Build quality is great and the set includes all necessary components. Installation is fast and easy. Just connect the red and black ends to you battery terminal and you are done.

Well, you still need to run/hide the cable to make it look nice and neat but that's something the manufacturer can't help you with. They, however gave you enough cable so you won't have problems even on a large bike.

What you get in the package are: main cable that connects to the battery and has weather sealed connector that accepts the other cable that actually terminates with a mini usb plug. Included voltage reducer (from 12v to 5.2v) has on/off switch and a green light indicating when the system is on, so you won't accidentally drain you battery. There is also a safety fuse. They also included wire wraps and Velcro tape for cable management. It took me about 30 minutes to finish the work. Most of time was used by planing the run of the cable. Charger worked immediately after installing and my Nuvi 260w gps worked perfectly fine. I took my bike on the road the very same day and went where I have never been before.
