- iPod/iPhone AV cable to allow audio/video on compatible Pioneer receivers
- Enables list browsing, music playback controls, and video playback
- Keep your iPod/iPhone charged while you enjoy it with your Pioneer receiver
- Plugs into your device and your receiver's USB and mini-jack AV/Aux input
- 1.5m cable with 1-Amp compatibility to Apple specifications
Mind you, the AVIC already recognizes the iPod, but it will not play music through the USB port until you buy this device. You might even accept this deliberate limitation if this cord was $10, but for close to $50, you feel like a chump buying it.
This works very well, so I'm giving it 4 stars, taking one off for the unconscionable price.
Buy Pioneer CD-IU51V AV iPod/iPhone Cable for Pioneer AV and Navigation models Now
I had ordered this cable for my new Pioneer AVIC-Z130BT Radio(Great head unit by the way) to hook up my iPhone 4 and quickly cancelled it when I found a cheaper identical cable for less than $15.You DON'T need to pay Pioneer the outrageous amount for a simple cable for your iPhone or iPod touch.
My advice: do a search on your search engine for CD-IU51V and you'll get equivalent cheaper products for sale.
My iPhone plays videos and everything else with the cheaper cable I purchased.
UPDATE 10/07/2012
Cheaper cable is still working like a champ.

I bought this to go with my AVH-3300BT in-dash receiver, and could not be happier. It was a little expensive, but the cord allows you to watch video and use the DVD screen for Apps.Want Pioneer CD-IU51V AV iPod/iPhone Cable for Pioneer AV and Navigation models Discount?
The cable works as expected. I have used it with the Pioneer AVIC-Z130BT and iPhone 3GS, and iPod Classic. It transfers album art, song info, etc and allows you to control the devices remotely. It also allows you to charge your devices while connected.Update: I can confirm it works with the iPhone 4s as well
It does what it is supposed to do.
My only gripe is that it seems a bit overpriced but it is definitely worth the investment. I was tempted to rate it 4 stars but it really does make the difference between an annoying somewhat useful and a plug and play interface.
Not everyone that buys a Pioneer head unit has an iPod/iPhone so I understand why it is not included.
I couldn't see using the Pioneer unit without it.This unit works, these are my gripes:
1) It's bulky. There are actually two cables that are married into one with occasional heat shrink (look carefully at the photo). This is unsightly, and it's not something you'll want hanging out in your car.
2) It's a scam. Everyone has an iPod cable, why can't pioneer just have a USB port on the front of their units, and allow us to use our own cables?
3) The connector is bulky. For my iPhone 4, I have to remove the case as the connector is too bulky to allow connection.
It works, it's just expensive, bulky, and makes me feel like I got slighted out of 45 bucks.
