Buy PowerStation PSX Multi-Purpose Rugged Vehicle Utility Jump Starter and Air Compressor Now
We purchased this PowerStation to jumpstart a small pickup that had been sitting all winter. It was hitched up to the truck and instantly jumpstarted the vehicle. If we need to jump any of our vehicles in the winter, this unit will easily pay for itself after a few uses. The inconvenience of having to wait for someone to show up to jumpstart makes it well worth the price, especially if you are working and can't afford to be late. The user manual has very clear safety instructions, gives instruction on charging the PXS before using it the first time, standard recharging of the PXS (once a month), tells you how to jumpstart a vehicle, how to use the integrated work light, how to use the compressor, and how to operate the 12V DC outlet. In the instruction manual you will also find a toll free number to call if you have any problems with the unit or need replacement parts. There are diagrams to consult so you can become familiar with the unit. The following features are listed in the instructions:
FEATURES
* High current EHP battery provides 1,000 Amps peak power, 400 Amps starting power.

One other aspect of the PSX that we especially like is its portability. If you have a vehicle or recreational vehicle that is hard to get to (behind other vehicles or off roads) this unit is a real plus. First time we saw this unit, it didn't take us very long to decide we needed it and the price was right. It was a decision we didn't regret!Bought it as emergency backup over 2 years agoat costco when my wife's battery refused to start the car and AAA did not come. Bye-bye AAA membership, Hello PowerStation.
Since then it started number of cars, used as compressor at least once a month for two cars and even powered backup sump pump during Irene while providing some light.
Important part here KEEP IT CHARGED. This is lead-acid battery and will degrade if stored undercharged. If you are at 12 V it will die in weeks, if you under 11.5 and don't charge right away you battery is gone. Lead inside sulfates and can only be recovered using desulfation process by expensive external charger.
So advice is to plug it after each use.
The only complaint they should have made clear what type of Lead-Acid battery is inside gel or AGM. That would make it easier to do maintenance once in a while and keep it alive even longer.

The Powerstation PSX worked wonderfully for the first year saving me on a couple of occasions. I've charged it on a monthly basis per instruction and considered it an essential item stowed in the trunk of my car. Well that is until I started using the compressor for the first time and noticed the unit power drains after about 3-4 minutes. This was confirmed when I pressed the "Test Battery" button the meter shows "no charge." I bought it home to charge and to my surprise the green 'Fully Charged' light turned on immediately when I plugged it to charge. You see the unit thinks it's fully charged, while the battery test and compressor says otherwise. To verify I tested the unit cable to see if it can 'jump' one of the vehicle in the garage nope it didn't, no charge. I believe the circuit in this unit shorted or something thinking it's fully charged when it's not.Anyway, the Powerstation PSX is now a dead weight in garage. After only 1 year of use it now a POS. I'm now shopping for a more reliable jump starter probably the JNC660.
Bottom line, I would not recommend getting this. One of the best investments I've ever made! I cannot even count how many times I've had to use my PowerStation! I've even loaned it out a couple times, and each person who used it, loved it!
