I did a lot of shopping around before I made this purchase. 20 mile range.. wow. Yeah, if in the city this is likely to be reduced significantly but I'm out in the suburbs. I figured maybe 5-10 mile range I could deal with.

I have had them for a week now. I am using channel 2 and channel 22 on both my attempts at using these radios (high output channels). I charged the batteries on the first attempt for 8 hours. My second attempted I charged the batteries for 24 hours to be positive they were fully charged.

The radios work wonderfully less than 100 yards distance. At 400 yards (suburbs/houses, outside -not in the house-) the signal becomes very fuzzy and hard to hear. At 1/4 mile they are completely unusable.

How do I get my money back? I thought I was buying quality equipment.

When I ordered the walkie talkies I read that there was a 20 mile radius, but when I received them it showed that only if I lived on a desert would I get reception within 20 miles. But they do work for us with the 2 mile distance and are useful.

Kids keep one with them when they bike with friends around the neighborhood. I keep the DCS and keypad lock on them so no accidental channel changes.

Bought for kids to use when playing outside. So far, so good. Love that it included all batteries & chargers needed. Range seems good. Easy to use, even for my 5 yr old. Very happy with these.

I looked around before I bought these we bought them for Christmas for our 5,6,7abd 8 year olds they loVe them and so far we have just used them in the house so idk about how far they range. They were exactly what we wanted!
