Since the arrival of the iPad, the traditional 500mA USB adapters have been augmented by 2.1A and dual 2.1/0.5A adapters for the iPad plus any other USB-powered/charged device. You have to read the specs carefully since some chargers are not rated at that full load. Lots of people need a travel charger, and that calls for folding AC prongs. There are several such available on Amazon, I have every one of them and some that I bought elsewhere. I have narrowed my preference down to two brands/models -this is one of them. It isn't the smallest one available, but I was able to measure the output current from both ports simultaneously and they met the specs -which was not true of some of the other chargers I have.

The things that I charge charge a lot faster. It seems to be a really nice usb power adapter. I can charge many things with it.

This was a replacement for a failed Lenmar travel charger where the fold out plug shorted and worked intermittently. The replacement is larger, looks good, and feels solidly constructed. However, it will not charge a Blackberry Bold, or an LG standard texting phone. Both phones provide an error message that they will not charge the devices. It does change my Samsung Charge smartphone. On the positive side, it does charge my iPad (3rd gen.) But as my son put it, why don't we buy a product that will charge all our phones? I have no credible answer for that other than I messed up.

This charger is no different. I spent some time searching for a charger that could charge my iPad and iPhone at the same time saving me at least a little space and one less thing to worry about.

The charger has a nice finish and feels solid in my hands, and so far it does its job of charging my iDevices well.
