It also doesn't hurt that it has a tidy, clean design. The rotating plug makes it nice and compact for travel, but the sliding cover is a bit chintzy and not very satisfying to slide back and forth; I just leave mine open. The build quality of the rest of the charger is adequate, if not bulletproof.
It may not be the cheapest USB charger out there, but for under $15, I'm happy.

In less than a year, the poorly designed and manufactured connector on the main-unit end of the connector cable began to de-laminate and cause random unit resets when my car was jarred by pot holes or road irregularities.
I also own an older Street Pilot III which uses a much more robust round connector with pins that stick into holes in the cable. It probably cost Garmin about fifty cents or a dollar a unit more for the old style connector. Given Garmin's reputation for quality products, I'm really surprised they changed the engineering to the lousy leaf spring connector they're using now.
Garmin really should have a voluntary recall and replace these junky connectors to promote customer satisfaction instead of making us shell out between $30 and $40.

Works fine with my Garmin StreetPilot 2610. This was a replacement for the first one that broke. The plastic end is not particularly strong, so be careful when not in use. Speaker quality is fine for its purpose.Overall, the adapeter replacement works fine. I plugged it in and the unit powered up. I am still a bit frustrated that I needed to replace this adapter. The Garmin unit is great the directions and interface work incredibly well but this adapter design is less than ideal. I've about had it with this durned power adapter/speaker cord. Every year it falls apart and I have to buy another one. Garmin just makes the durned thing too durned cheap. Speaker and cord part is great. . .just the part that plugs into the lighter socket keeps falling apart. Gotta admit I'm a heavy user. . .like all day everyday for 5 years. The GPS itself is fabulous, as long as you order the update maps when they're available, (which isn't often enough). Update maps are $150 plus $25 or more for the adapter. . .costs me $180 a year to run under this system. Gotta admit. . .I love it. . .cept when it breaks.The new one works fine, and was about 20% cheaper than buying it directly through Garmin.It still is a bit disappointing that Garmin didn't step up to the plate and replace these for nothing. When I was searching for my replacement, I found quite a few people also had to replace the adaptor.

The radios are compact, and have long battery life. Typically, a set of 3 AA batteries lasts 3-4 days. The reception is clear and loud. The settings of the channel and subchannel can be locked, which is great because this prevents inadvertent switching to another channel when one or another button gets accidentally pressed in your pocket. If this happens, the most difficult part is to recall what setting you used before! The radio also has a "scan" function which I never used and find useless because it is good only to get out of the radio noise and conversations of the strangers. The range of the radio is decent (Motorola claims up to 2 miles in an open area), although it may not to work if you get separated from your party by a mountain ridge. A longer range can only be reached if you use more powerful radios which work in GMRS frequency band and require a government license (which costs, I think, about seventy bucks per year). The last but not least, these radios are weather-resistant and will not get damaged by sweat and moisture accumulated inside of your jacket.
It is my understanding that different brands and models of FRS radios use the same standard, they are compatible, and they all have the same basic features. They difference is only in (a) weight, (b) size, (c) sound quality, (d) weather resistance, and (d) availability of privacy codes. This Motorola is not the cheapest radio on the market, but you get a good value for the dollars paid as it is a well-built compact weather-resistant radio with a good sound quality.

I bought these as a Christmas gift for my husband. We moved into a house and he's been doing a lot of work outside. It's much easier to just radio him than searching all over the place for him!CTEK 56-864 Battery Charger

The Schumacher is just a maintainer/charger. It has no desulphate mode, but works well to keep the battery topped up.
The Yuasa does the same thing, but adds a mediocre desulphate mode. In tsting, I showed that it did bring batteries to a higher state of charge then the Schumacher.
The Xtreme Charge is a powerful tool for desulphating batteries, but it does not do as well as the MUS 4.3 at fully charging a good battery.
The MUS 4.3 has a desulphate mode, but I've never seen it enter that mode, even on a badly abused battery.
I'm currently in the process of attempting to restore a 12V 22 Anp-hour 5 year old AGM battery that was deeply discharged, to under 6v. The Schumacher, Yuasa, and Xtreme all refused to even start on this battery. I had given up on it, and was about to order a replacement, when I decided to try out the MUS 4.3.
When I plugged in the MUS 4.3, it attempted to charge the battery, but then found the battery bad after it dropped to under 12v in 3 minutes, after it attempted to charge the battery. I feel that afew attempts to recharge the battery would probably have done the trick, but it was bed-time, so I figured I'd go back to ol-reliable Xtreme Charge.
I then hooked up the Xtreme Charge, and it began to charge the battery. After letting it sit overnight on the battery, the battery was able to hold over 12V. I decided to leave it on the Xtreme charge another 12 hours, and will attempt a recondition with the CTEK.
I will update later on my progress, but my conclusion so far, is that the CTEK offers features the Xtreme Charge does not have, while the Xtreme Charge offers features the CTEK does not have. Both are top of class chargers. I wish I could somehow combine them into one. If the CTEK would always desulphate, like the Xtreme charge does, I'd pick it over the Xtreme. As is, I'd lean more toward the Xtreme. For cases where it does not want to start charging to to low voltage, one can use a $10 trickle charger to bring the battery up over 11 volts. My trickle charger died though, and I have yet to replace it.
Update:
After leaving the battery that the CTEK said was bad, on the XTreme charge for a week, it now is working well. The Xtreme Charge would not charge the battery before I tried the CTEK on it though.
At this point, if I had to have one battery maintainer, I'd stick with an Xtreme Charge and get a $10 trickle charger for truly dead batteries, to get them up to where the Xtreme Charge will charge them.
That said, I'm happy to have the CTEK, in addition to the Xtreme Charge as the different modes the CTEK has can come in handy.
Update 2:
I have a car with a year old battery that stopped accepting a charge. This car sits a lot, but is kept on one of my battery maintainers when it is sitting for long periods.
After several months of driving it every day, it stopped accepting a full charge. It got to the point where I was keeping it on the Xtreme charge at night, but it still would barely start the car at the end of the day. I checked the alternator and it was fine. I was almost ready to buy a new battery when I decided to give the CTEK a try.
I set the CTEK to recondition mode, and it spent several hours charging the battery. The next morning, the engine fired up with gusto. That evening, after sitting at work all day, it fired up with gusto again, and the next morning and evening as well.
The CTEK just paid for itself once more. At this point, I feel like both chargers, the CTEK, and the Xtreme, definitely have there own niches. I am glad I have both.

I have two CTEK 3300s and love them. A CTEK representative encouraged me to get the 4.3 and I regret my decision. Not only is it at least $25 more than the 3300, the cables are shorter and there is no OFF button. That means 1) it won't work in all my cars because the distance between the positive battery clamp and the chassis ground is too far for the shorter cables and 2) you get that nice SPARK when plugging it in. The 3300 has both a longer cable for the positive/negative clamps and an off button. I personally HATE sparks anytime I'm dealing with a battery. Of note, the 4.3 does have a battery recondition mode which I suppose is nice if you have completely depleted a battery as well as a better indicator of what it is doing. Still, I wish I would have just bought another 3300.UPDATE 01/04/2013: I still don't like the fact that there is a small spark when you plug this in, HOWEVER. I have now reconditioned two batteries AND the price is similar now to the 3300. So given the choice, I would live with the small spark and shorter cables in order to have the recondition mode. My BMW battery was giving a discharge warning recently (a known issue on new BMWs) and I gave it a recondition over the weekend and have not seen the error since.

Operation:

o Unit restarts in same mode as when last plugged in. Startup delay is a couple seconds.
o Unit restarts charge cycle when modes changed or battery is dis-, then reconnected.
Initial reaction: Nice! The unit brought our 6 and 8-year old flooded-cell auto batteries from 12.36V to a full charge of 12.6+V, stepping through the charging stages (@ 14.35V during the absorption stage) to float @ 13.55V. Voltages were measured on the battery terminals with a Fluke 115 DMM.
Things that could be better:
o The indicators are hard to see in sunlight.
o The AC cord is overkill. It's stiff & I found it "wags the dog", shifting the charger around as one plugs it in or moves the cord
o A rubber case or end bumpers would be nice, both protecting the unit and keeping it from slipping around as much during use.

Purchased this for my father and he said the recondition mode brought back a 6yr old motorcycle battery that would no longer take a charge.have to agree with other reviewer. no standby, even though there is a standby light, it never comes on. the 3300 seems to be a better unit. and then there were sparks. not in connecting to the battery but when i plugged it in. weird. i do like the series of lights, but thats not worth the extra $. why no standby?on the 3300 you attach it to the battery and the standby light comes on. then you plug it in. on the 4.3 you attach it to the battery and nothing. no lights. anyway, once you plug it in you can set it for what you want. just dont plug it in near the battery.
i found the cables to be the same length as my 3300, plenty long for what i need.

Even though it's 12V, it has more than enough power to squeeze out the grease, even if you had the gun sitting in a cold garage mid-winter. I found that filling my truck's joints with green grease was exceedingly easier than the last time I had done so with a hand trigger style gun.
When you pick this up and have it in your hand, you know it means business. It doesn't feel "plastic-ey", like it's going to break at any moment. With it resting on my chest, I had ample hose available to reach whatever I needed to reach under my 4x4 truck, which I was thankful for ,given its weight.
No problems whatsoever priming it. They gave all sorts of instructions as to how to prime it if necessary, but I just put the tube in, pushed in the handle in the bottom, and pulled the trigger and a few seconds later grease was kicking out and has kicked out every trigger pull since then.
You can hear the pump cycling through, so there is an audible noise every time it kicks in some grease. This is good since it will enable you to gauge how much grease is going in if you can't see the fitting and are just adding some by feel. Each pump noise equals one full squeeze of a standard grease gun, in my estimation. Each pump is less than a second, so it doesn't take very long either.
Bottom line is, this is an impressive tool. It does what it's supposed to, and it does it well.

Having a car charger has always been a necessity for me. I always seem to find myself running low on my cell phone batteries as I drive home. Often times I receive a call or make the occasional call while I drive, and, since the battery is low, I'd prefer not to lose the call. Having an iPhone, this ended up being the car charger I picked out.There really isn't too much to say. It gets the job done. Has a little LED to indicate power to the charger. I'm sure there are plenty of generic chargers out there that accept a USB connection, I'd prefer not to have to worry about dragging my sync cable around with me. This charger enables me to do that, since it's got the 30 pin connector the iPhone needs.
Since I've never used the charger to fully charge my iPhone, I can't comment on the time it requires to fully charge the device, but it certainly has nearly charged the iPhone when connected for an hour or so. I assume this is due to the "quick charge" that newer devices now have.
I don't think you'll be disappointed with this. Price isn't bad, and, it just works as you'd expect.

Well really, what does one say? I mean, it's a freakin' iPod charger. It either charges your iPod or it doesn't, right? This cord works, I like the coiled design, keeping excess cable from getting underfoot, and, well, it charges the iPod. So nothing fancy or sexy in this review. I have two of these for my two Battery Tender Jr's. They are perfectly suited for the Junior. I intend to buy another Battery Tender Jr. and will DEFINITELY buy another pouch. Some of reviews incorrectly say this is cheaply made of vinyl, they are actually made of water resistant nylon. I concur with the reviews that say they cannot store their extension cables in these pouches for me, the Battery Tender Jr (with cords neatly wrapped) was all I could manage to store in mine. Here's the REAL scoop on these:1) Approx. 6" x 7" x 2" (sizes approx. from stitching to stiching)
