Solartech SPM010P-D 10-Watt 12-Volt ES Polycrystalline PV Solar Panel

Solartech SPM010P-D 10-Watt 12-Volt ES Polycrystalline PV Solar PanelI bought 3 of these to power 3 12v DC fans. This is my first experiment in using electric solar power. If I were to rebuy the collectors I would buy slightly larger ones for more power output. That is not a product issue. It is a my inexperience issue. The collectors do put out the power advertised. I could just use a bit more for more RPMs. My one manufacturer complaint is that they did not provide info about weatherability of the collectors and worse did not reply to my email requesting that information. I believe that I could increase power output by relocation but the panels would then be weather exposed.

I've only used ours a little (ok -~30 minutes) but in direct sun in July (Los Angeles), I was getting a bit over 21V from it.. This was good enough to hook up with patch cables to my truck's battery which was low due to a failed voltage regulator. Anyway, in about 30 minutes it brought the battery voltage from 12v up to 12.6v. The panel is constructed solidly and looks like it will last a good long time! I highly suggest using a charge controller with a panel like this such as the Morningstar Sun Keeper which is more than enough for this panel -using a charge controller will ensure that you do not overcharge your battery and will take care to reduce any charge effects by using PWM (3-stage) charge control. I'll be using ours to power a door motor on a chicken coop to let the birds out in the morning and lock them in, in the evening. This panel will work just fine for this purpose!

Belkin 300w DC/AC Inverter

Belkin 2 Outlet Dc/Ac InverterWe bought this item so that we could use our laptop in the car and also to be able to plug in more items in our RV. I like that it has two outlets.

Some people have said it was "loud" but I didn't understand that at all. Yes, there is a quiet "whirring" sound from the fan, but if you're driving down a highway or have the radio on low, you'd never hear the fan.

I think it was a good purchase. Worth the money and I'd recommend it to a friend.

I purchased the Belkin AC power converter for my cross country trip from california to virginia. I am half way done with the trip and the power converter has worked extremely well. I am able to work on my laptop while my wife drives and the kids watch their portable dvd player in the back. This was a great purchase and I am also able to save by not having to purchase separate car chargers for my cell phones, they just plug into the power converter.

Buy Belkin 300w DC/AC Inverter Now

This Belkin inverter is much louder than the 140 watt inverter (which is difficult to hear at all). You can easily drowned out the noise with your radio but the pitch was a little too high for me.

The 300 watt unit is only a little bigger with a second outlet than the 140 watt inverter. It comes with an automotive type fuse (30 amp) which does seem to be very useful if your car lighter fuse is 10 or 15 amp.

I have had this unit for over a year and am very pleased. I use it for my laptop and Direct TV while we travel. I must be getting deaf because I do not notice any loud noise. You have to darn near have your ear close to it just to hear the fan running. This inverter has not given me any problems what so ever. I would have to guess that I have between 250 and 300 hours on this unit using both receptacles at the same time. I like it.

Worked great for me on a recent trip to Florida. Only used one of the two outlets to recharge my laptop computer battery. Fast and efficient recharge--way cheaper than buying an extra battery and performed flawlessly. Some reviewers thought it was loud, but I could barely hear any noise at all, just a very low fan noise, which is necessary to cool the inverter. Excellent supplier through Amazon--received fast and in perfect condition. Product does everything it's supposed to.

  • Integrated circuitry regulates output voltage specific to the Nintendo DS Lite / DSLite. Advanced logic maximizes overall charger efficiency.
  • Internal circuit designed to protect your Nintendo DS Lite / DSLite from power surges, overcharging and short circuiting.
  • This Gomadic Battery Pack is uniquely designed to work with both standard (e.g. alkaline) and/or rechargeable AA batteries.

I bought this battery charger for my 10 day trip to Scotland, and it does work very well. 2 complete recharges from 4 Radio Shack brand AA batteries. The only hindrance to this unit is that it's modular. Instead of making the device with one durable wire from the charger to the DS Lite, it has a break in the wire to attach another smaller wire that connects to the DS. This obviously is to make it adaptable for multiple systems via different adapters and to cut manufacturing costs. So if this charger is for a younger child who has a knack for misplacing or loosing smaller parts, you may want to hang onto the charger during long trips because without the adapter, the charger is useless. It's a shame that this handy device was short changed by the adapter. Cut corners by Gomadic are why I give the DS Lite Battery Charger 4 out of 5 stars.

Picked this up for a trip where the flight time (including layovers)was 18 hours. The pack works fine, you can play and charge at the same time, or just charge when not playing.

Just like a normal AC adapter.

Didn't have any problems with the tip. If you're worried about loosing it. A piece of electric tape will solve that problem.

On a recent trip to Australia, this gizmo helped me preserve my sanity over 20+ hours of travel. It's compact, light and gives you at least two full recharges off a set of standard AA batteries. I can't yet speak to its durability, but the materials feel on the cheap side, which is the only reason I'm not giving this product five stars. That said, the price point is reasonable so even if I had to replace this charger in another trip or two, I would likely get the same one.

X-gps GPS S550hd MTK + Radar 5" Bluetooth Hd LCD 128mb Gps+ Radar Detectors+4gb AU/ US Map+ Av-in

X-gps GPS S550hd MTK + Radar 5' Bluetooth Hd LCD 128mb Gps+ Radar Detectors+4gb AU/ US Map+ Av-in
  • Input: 12 to 15V DC (from cigarette lighter socket)
  • Current: 150 to 300mA
  • Output: 5.3V DC ±5% (for PND use)
  • Operating temperature: -20 to 85°C
  • Storage temperature: -30 to 105°C

This is 'sold' as a combo. The radar and the nav need separate power cables so unless you have 2 handy power sockets you can only use one at a time. So the cables will be all over the cabin of your car. The battery life without on the nav is 5 or 10 mins max. The radar detector makes a nice beep when you plug it in, but doesn't actually detect anything. I drove past 3 police cars on the highway (and had I set to highway mode) and nothing. It just sits on the dash. The nav is pretty good, but takes a while to load when first booted up. It only works when charged due to short battery life. The user manual lays out additonal features like an MP3 and other goodies, but they don't work.

The nav on this unit is really good. The screen is super sharp, but the radar is poor, lot of false alarms and limited range. All in all I would buy another one if this one gets taken away. I use it in a big rig and sometimes they get grumpy about the radar thing. Good unit for the price!

2 ADD-ON Solar Charging Panel Extensions for ReVIVE Series Solar ReStore XL External Backup Battery

2 ADD-ON Solar Charging Panel Extensions for ReVIVE Series Solar ReStore XL External Backup Battery Pack - Triples your ReStore's solar charging speed!ok. these work. but...just a little bit of rough service (and by rough, I mean carrying them along on a trip in a bag) will result in the panels separating from one another (solar panel front and plastic back, creating gap which causes big problems because of the spring loaded connectors). oh sure try to take them apart with a jewelry screwdriver to "fix" it. You will find that the plastic anchors will break. and now you need another one.

as long as they don't separate, they work great. I would say they are worth buying one or two, but just keep in mind treat them as if they are faberge' eggs....

Pros:

1) Simple

2) Works

3) Drastically improved charging time

4) Enable getting full 4 bars on the XL on only solar

5) Tiny LED indicator

Cons:

1) Price

2) Should be included with the XL

The ReStore XL claims to full charge from empty in 11 hours but I was never able to get it to 4 bars even after leaving it in full sunlight for at least 8 hours a day for 4 days. I plan to use this on my bike touring trip so I decided I needed to get the extra panels. So far they work wonders on the XL. I was able to full charge from 1 bar to 4 bars in about 3.5 hours of sunlight. I also like the testing button as well as the tiny LED that indicates when the panels are putting out power. It would flicker when place in the sun.

Installation was easy and because of the way it is designed, it folds nicely into a compact case for easy storage.

I highly recommend this if you have the XL and having trouble getting to 4 bars on the panels itself.

I got the 2 add on pack for my ReStore XL. I spent a day up in Lambeau Field with my son, and kept having to fire up the car once in a while to recharge things (2 ipads, 2 iphones) during the tailgating. I wanted more options, so started looking around Amazon, and went with the XL.

These were a good price to get three times the speed on recharging when I'm out and about, and they hook up really easily. Spring loaded hooks hold them to each other, and it comes with the piece to connect them to the XL, although the XL came with one as well.

Checking the connections is easy, just get it in sunlight and start charging, and there's a test button to press on the adapter that goes between the charger and these panels, and it turns a little light on each panel on when they've got a connection.

My problem was the build quality. The plastic is very fragile one of them came already cracked where the metal hook would slip in, so I just ended up putting that one on the "outside" where nothing would have to hook up to it. But that means I need to be careful when using them any other cracks, and I won't be able to use at least one of them.

Charging time has improved drastically, so while I haven't done any timed tests with and without, it was definitely worth it for me.

I bought this charger and the two solar panel add-on pack. The connection between the main charger and solar add on panels is so pathetically poor it will not make electrical contact.

this item is big. It ls about 4 times the size of my 7000 mah (Non-solar) new trent battery pack (without the add-on panels too). too big to carry to be of any use to me.

unfortunately since i discarded the packaging, I'm told I can't return it now. i would have rather lit my money on fire, at least i'd see some cool flames.

maybe i got a defect but i don't think so. this technology is interesting but it just isn't ready for mainstream.

if you're brave enough to try it, i beg you: save your packaging to return this when you experience your inevitable disappointment.

EDIT 11/6: After posting this review I got a very nice email from Accesory Genie, they took the product back and refunded my money. Still one star for the product but 5 stars for Accessory Genie for stepping up and makign this right for me! I would buy from them again.

ZOpid - Talking Universal Wireless Bluetooth Hands Free Car Kit / Speaker Phone with Built-in Rechar

ZOpid - Talking Universal Wireless Bluetooth Hands Free Car Kit / Speaker Phone with Built-in Rechargeable Battery - HC-ZB323V
  • One of the best hands free car kits - 12 different voice prompts make it real easy to use
  • Bluetooth v1.2 - Works with any bluetooth enabled cell phone or PDA - Very easy to setup in car
  • Digital Signal Processing (DSP) for clear sound and noise cancellation - Supports voice dialing
  • Last number redial - 10 calls memory - Call transfer - Battery charging indicator
  • Built-in rechargeable Li-Polymer battery - Up to 10 hours talk time - Up to 230 hours stand by time

I have been using this carkit for almost a year and I am very pleased with the product quality. Over the year I have used the carkit with a few different cell phone models without any problem any minor issues that I have had were resolved by either consulting the user manual or visiting product-support website.

When I used the carkit for the first time I felt that the volume was not loud enough but the product support website had instructions on how to fix that problem the fix required adjusting the incoming-call volume on the cell phonewhich on most phones is adjusted while you are on a phone call. The volume adjustment is required again only if the phone settings are reset.

To use voice dialing from the carkit, when it's paired with my Motorola V3, I have to press the call button twice, instead of just once as documented in the user manual. Again, I found detailed instructions on voice dialing on product support website.

My wife uses my car sometimes, so my carkit has pairing information saved for her phone as well, which makes it easier for her to use the carkit while using my car as it does not require to repeat the pairing process.

Most of the voice prompts are very helpful, but I specially like the "end of call" prompt, because with most of the bluetooth handsfree devices you cannot tell if the call has ended, unless you look at the cell phone screen.

I purchased this item to compare with my other BT car kit Motorola T305 (reliable connection but not so great in sound and indication). It turns out this unit is a complete opposite.

The good sound quality, including the British-accent voice prompt from the device. It's good to know the current status of the unit and what it is doing. The volume is loud and clear. Never see the low-battery indication as I charge only once a week. (The power outlet on my car doesn't have power when the car is off and is mostly used for my radar detector.)

The bad connectivity: it took me 5 times to successfully pair with my Treo when I receive it. Once it's connected, it's often to drop the connection and pick up again after a few seconds. Occasionally it doesn't pick up anymore. Although so far it never drops the connection DURING a phone conversation, it's quite annoying to have to worry about it.

There is another unit almost identical but a little more expensive on amazon.com. May that's what the extra money is spent for.......

I was excited to get this product and finally be able to speak "hands free" while driving my vehicle. I have tried other blue tooth devices that fit over the ear and have never liked the way any of them have fit. I have three cell phones (one for personnal and two for work) and was looking forward to a device that could connect to all three. After using this device for a few days I was terribly disappointed with the perfomance. I continued to use it for several more weeks hoping for an improvement, but no luck. I have listed my opinions for pro's and con's to help you decide.

Pros: Holds a charge for several days and comes with an included car charger. Very large, bright LCD display for incoming calls. Voice prompts with number. Sorry, that's all of the good stuff.

CONS: Pairs to each of my three phones with no problem.... but NOT simultaneously. It automatically pairs to my work phone (the primary pairing) when the unit is initially turned on. The device won't pair with one of the other phones unless the primary is turned off or out of range. In other words, if my personnal phone rings, the device WON'T automatically swith to that device. This is a huge inconveinence and makes the multiple pairing feature virtually USELESS to me. Also, the speaker volume is TOO LOW, even at the maximum volume setting. What does this mean? It means I really CAN'T HEAR what the person I'm having a conversation with is saying. But that almost doesn't matter because everyone I've spoken to on the device has complained about not being able to hear me, or the line having TOO MUCH STATIC. Also, the voice dialing feature on my cell phone DOES NOT WORK through this device. In other words, I still have to pick up the cell phone and dial the digits on the keypad in order to make a call. There are other negatives, but I think you get the point.

My opinion is this is a TERRIBLE product, especially for the money paid ($60 plus shipping). I only wish someone else had taken the time to write a review prior to me WASTING MY MONEY on this.

Kenwood ProTalkĀ® TK-2300V4P 4 Channel model VHF 2 Watt Portable Business Radio, 27 VHF Pre-Programmed FrequenciesWe have used these radios in the past and needed new ones. They are very dependable and battery life is excellent. We also like that it is rechargable. When we needed new ones, I went straight to Amazon.com to search for them. I was very pleased with the price I found.

Uniden GMR2875-2CK 28-Mile 22-Channel FRS/GMRS Waterproof Two-Way Radios (Camo)

  • Silent mode with vibrate alert; Direct call with name display
  • Mossy Oak New Breakup camo pattern
  • Includes two radios, two NiMH rechargeable batteries and dual-bay charging cradle

The features are what sell this radio, but the cons will make you think twice about it. I recommend downloading the User's Manual PDF from Uniden for more specifics about these radios.

CONs -

I'm going to primarily talk about the cons of these radios since that is why you are reading this review.

1) They are larger than you think. If you intend on using these in a park or on the slopes, be advised that they are longer and thicker than most radios. My kids did not like to carry them for that reason, and it was not easy for me either, with such a long (rubber coated and flexible to a degree) antenna poking you in the side constantly.

2) They are also heavier than most radios of this type. I suspect that is due mostly to the type of construction given their water resistant nature.

3) The overall construction is solid, and has a good feel to it, but I would have to say the weakest link is the detachable Belt Clips, which are included. The good news is they're replaceable if you break or lose them.

4) The speaker is small, and in my opinion too small. Sounds distorted like you are in a deep hole.

5) We ended up repeating ourselves a lot due to the poor sound quality, especially with any real distance or background noise. The Volume settings are 0 7, and the MAX volume 7 is poor and is hard to hear in places like amusement parks. Although it does have alert and call tones that can punch through the background noise, the poor quality, distortion and minimal volume at max can be a real negative, and requires a the user to compensate with slower more pronounced speech, or hold the unit closer to your ears.

6) These units do not have ear bud or VOX features, again due to their water resistant construction, and it's a tradeoff to consider. It probably would have been a nice feature for Hunters.

7) The Radios are only usable with the factory battery packs. I highly recommend spare batteries if you don't have a way to recharge them in the field.

8) Unfortunately the Charger is slow, and they are not a smart charger, and will eventually cook the batteries over time if the radios are left in the charger too long.

9) The Battery Condition Monitor is a joke. The Batteries have a capacitive nature, so under light use, the indication shows Full due the batteries apparent voltage appearing higher than when under load and pulling the voltage down to its real state of charge. This becomes a problem when you think you have good battery capacity remaining, and then with a few minutes of use, the indication rapidly drops to Low Battery Warning, and then it starts Beeping to warn you that you only have a few minutes of use remaining. The Batteries last about 1 ½ days on a charge with light use, and a day with heavier use depending on what power level you Transmit at.

10) Transmission Distance is the usual overrated manufacture Hype. In an average residential area, I got good clear transmissions at about ¼ mile using 1 watt transmissions, and about 1 ½ miles using the 5 watt BOOST mode, after that, it drops off rapidly in quality. My best transmission distance (understandable but not real clear) was 9 ½ miles as-the-crow-flies over open salt water from about 200 ft above sea level from hilltop to hilltop across a bay including about ¼ mile of land on each end as measured by Google Earth. Not bad, but I was expecting better, especially over water given the 28 mile hype.

11) The screen is adequate, but some of the smaller lettering can be difficult to see in bright light.

12) I like the Missed call Alert, but I think Uniden missed the boat when they limited the various ways that feature can be used. I does have its plusses, but I think they could have done better with this feature given that these radios will be purchased primarily for their outdoorsmen features.

13) If there are other radios in the area using the same frequency, it can really affect the performance of the radios. This is true of any of these type of radios, since the privacy codes, are really an automatic Squelch control to help keep you from hearing unwanted radio conversation from those outside of your desired users. As an example, while at Disneyland, two local (outside the park) Radio Hams were using Base Stations on our channel to chat. We didn't know this until a period where we were trying to talk, but their radios were overwhelming ours, and garbling our transmissions to the point where we used Cell Phone Backup. At the time we were not in the "GROUP MODE", so I was unable to switch the other radios as mentioned below.

14) The CALL feature works great, but functions differently between the "Group Mode" and the "Standard Mode" because the Group Mode is designed to be able to single out a single user in a group of 16 or less users, rather than the "ALL CALL" in standard mode. This can be confusing to users in the GROUP MODE who are not Techno-Junkies, and get confused easily. If everyone in the GROUP understands how to use this feature, it's great. On the other hand, it can lead to someone thinking they have used the CALL button to page everyone with a single push, but in fact, the first push asks WHO in the Group you are paging, ALL or 1-16 by pushing a series of buttons, or at least pushing the CALL button twice for everyone. In the Standard Mode, one push does the job.

PROs -

1) They float and can withstand minor submersion for 30 min with no ill effects I have not tested this feature, but it's nice to know that if you do drop it in water, you will probably still have a working radio.

2) The Group Features and especially the ability to change every radio in the group's Channel Number to a different frequency from a single radio is GREAT Well done Uniden.

3) The Radio has a selection of Tones for Paging and other features. Enough that it should meet most needs.

4) I also like that you can turn the Roger Beep OFF. Some radios I have used can't do that, and that can be annoying after a while.

5) The Menu System is fairly easy to use, and there is a Key Lock feature that should help prevent unwanted changes. Some keys are still available such as Volume Control when the Lock feature is active.

I have 35 plus years of experience with industrial radios including commercial grade radios for Fire Service and in industrial Power Plant settings. As a radio hobbyist, I have used most types of non-commercial radios from walkie-talkies, & CB's up thru the current range of FRS, GMRS & MURS radios. These Uniden Radios transmit over a reasonable distance for non-commercial radios, but that is a function of Terrain and Obstacle dependent as is true in the commercial world too.

Overall, I like these radios for their specific features. They are a decent value, but like most radios in this class, they have their pluses and minuses. If you have a realistic understanding of what affects transmission distance, you will find these radio's adequate for their intended purpose i.e. use around harsh or wet environments. If you're looking for radios to use in normal dry conditions, there are much better values out there.

I've been researching inverters and chargers for sometime for my camper/trailer and trying to come up with a simple single solution for camping and recharging my battery. I had an inverter but always had to drag out another device to charge the battery after a weekend of use. It was cumbersome to disconnect the inverter connect the charger then put everything back together after charging. This device has a built in transfer switch so it does both. When your on batteries it acts just as any inverter does and gives you 120vac but this device also allows you to plug it in. When plugged in it passes the 120vac through for you to use just like the inverter but also charges your battery at the same time. This device also provides some nice features such as being able to charge all sorts of different battery types and even has technology that allows it to even charge batteries that other chargers are not capable of recharging due to the battery being to far depleted. Another feature that I liked is the remote mount of the display so you can easily place it so you can view the status of your battery. It's a nice all in one good quality solution.

I've only had this for three days so I can't attest to the expected life, or to any issues that may arise in the future (though I will revise the review if appropriate).

With that said I could NOT be happier with this.

The functionality is unquestionable: for the last three days I've been able to use my ipod touch 4g heavily without having to think "Will I be able to recharge it during lunch" ... etc. I've been able to avoid the obsessive "raise brightness, lower brightness" I would normally do in order to conserve battery life while at the same time using the device in the south florida bright sunshine.

The fit is near perfect, certainly exceeding my expectations. None of the functionality of my touch is compromised and in fact those who are used to "cupping" with their hand behind the speaker to hear the ipod louder will be pleasently surprised to find that the case does a LITTLE of this by itself! (you'll still cup but your cup will be more effective, and you might not need to cup in situations where before you would). The buttons are great.

The case's styling is pure gorgeous. This was not a high priority for me at all but I've had people ask me to look at my "iphone" LOL ... and comment on how awesome the case looks.

The ipod is heavier, which is not a plus (it's not unbearably heavy of course) but the added bulk is a plus... I find this to be much more comfortable in my guy hands than the 4G naked or even the 4g with any other case I tried.

I would recommend the case to anyone who wants to be able to use their device without needing to obsess over the remaining battery capacity. Frankly I find the ipod touch 4g to be lacking in this department and mophie filled a true need for me.

I have found this to be the best device I have purchased for my ipod 4g. It truely is a wonderful item as I have used the ipod with and without the case and this case allows me not to worry about charging the unit. The price may seem a bit steep, but it does more than most in all these catagories: protecting the ipod, leaving minimal scratches, boosting use time. It is well worth the money!

The case got stuck and we could not get it off. It also was not charging. To finally get the case off we had to stick something into the receiver hole and pound it! The iPod touch is ok.

I loved this device when I first got it. It doubles the runtime of the iPod Touch 4 and the usb port is a welcome feature. But two big flaws became apparent after using this for a few months.

1. The plastic breaks eventually. The plastic button covering the power button at the top broke at the pivot point after a long while. The plastic covering the USB port at the bottom is thin. It bent and detached after many plug insertions. The plastic weakens easily.

2. The battery overheated (runaway reaction but no burn or explosion yet) and I smelled burnt plastic. The backside near the LED lights were overheating and melting due to high temperature. I removed my iPod and just watched the pack melt. There's nothing I could do. I'm awaiting to see whether if the pack will work in a few hours.

u can play games 4 hrs.web, movies, endless music play.my ipod last 3 times longer.charge every 2 days.a must have if u game on ur ipod.

Battery Tender 081-0069-8 Female Cigarette Adaptor for Quick Disconnect
  • 6 feet of cord for easy access, it will reach handlebar attachments such as GPS or iPod
  • Quick plug and play design with protective flap to limit dust incursion
  • Ring terminal connection fits any battery lug
  • High quality construction, rugged and durable

Never in one place long enough to charge a cell phone while on a long bike trip.

Most riders have these Deltran sockets hanging off their batteries, so I ordered an extra socket end and a 12v socket to build one. Genius, I thought. Use what's already wired in to the bike, and create my own charger.

It would solve everyone's issues. Be the hero on your next extended weekend trip with all the guys who need to charge their phone! As I was sharing my project with the group earlier this year, one of them said they saw one at a battery store the previous week.

The parts I bought added up to the price of this item.

The name of this item is a little awkward. The subject; "Your Amazon.com order of "FEMALE POWER PORT" has shipped!" needed a little explaining when it caught the eye of my wife when she glanced at my inbox.

I bought this product to power my GPS and Cell Phone on my motorcycle. This product plugged right into my pig tail on my battery. It kept my GPS and Phone charged on my 800 mile road trip well worth the price.

I bought this unit to put on my Harley to give me a power port for my gps. On the pro side it has a nice long cord of heavy gauge wire and the dust/rain cap is great. The only negative in my opinion would be....I would have liked a little more body length and maybe a couple of reinforced or built up areas to assist in mounting with zip ties. Of course I realize the manufacturer has no idea where or how this product will be used. The product arrived very quickly, was as described, and was of good quality. I am pleased. Once again an Amazon purchase proved to be NO HASSLE.

It's OK, it works, the construction looks reasonable.

I'm sure it works perfectly if you have the "Battery Tender" system installed but the polarity is bass-ackwards on the SAE connector for anything else.

I used it to get a permanent plug-in straight to the battery for a solar charger and tested it as a power supply line hooked up to the trailer lights harness, not on a motorcycleon my SUV (turn the lights on, plug this into the trailer light socket, have 12v power back there for whatever, in my case a rearward looking camera to provide video testimony that I was legal and xyz cops are wrong/lying).

The polarity is reversed to what it should be. So I cut the connector off the end, switched the wires, soldered and shrink wrapped everything where it should be and off we go.

I don't know why they do this but be advised they do it. That's why I'm dinging it two stars, one for being bass-ackwards from everyone else and the other one for the damage they will potentially do in being contrary like that. I am aware that this is meant to go with the specific Battery Tender system and I don't care, Battery Tender shouldn't be bass-ackwards on polarity anyway for any reason. Most people using that system won't even be aware that this is the case, but for everyone else, HEADS UP on the polarity thing. When in doubt, get your multimeter out and CHECK it before you power it.

Why both stations worked fine on my car, neither station worked on my Honda ST1300 motorcycle. Hooked this up to my ST1300 that has been connected to a Battery Tender Plus 24/7 when not riding and all it would do is one cycle of the desulfating lights and Charge light, then the Test light would come on and all the lights except ON would go dark. Then another single cycle and test light would come right back on and all lights except ON would go dark again, 1 second of the Charge light on, 5 seconds off. I might have thought this was a maintenance charge except the X2 started at 75% and after 5 days of being connected still showed 75%. And there is one of the shortcomings of this charger, for the relatively high cost it's lights tell you nothing. It's questionable desulfating cycle is really it's only claim to fame, other than that there is nothing really exceptionable about these Xtreme chargers to justify their cost.

First of all it will not charge a dead battery battery must have at least 7 volts, which only means you have to put your battery on a standard charger for an hour or so and then put this charger on.

Second it states it is supposed to desulfate batteries / restore them I have yet to confirm this after charging 7 different batteries

third for some reason it does not like interstate batteries I tried 2 of them and it would not work on them unless I went through a few differnent steps

forth I tried 2 different dry cell batteries would not charge either on

fifth on deep cycle batties it took over 7 days to charge it up after a full charge I put it back on a week later and showed only a 50% charge

It might be fine for maintaining batteries and I like the fact I can charge 2 batteries at the same time would I buy it again no. The reason is I wanted a charger that would desulfate my batteries and this one does not perform that function, or at least to my satisfaction. I was trying to avoid spending big money but you get what you pay for.

I would not recommend this charger unless you just wanted a trickle charger

I was going to give it 3 stars but after reading my review I knocked it down to 2 just does not messure up to the ad hipe. If only if worked half as good as it sounded

update: 1/17/13 product states 14+ volts but only charges up to 13. I have tried 6 different batteries and it has not worked an any of them. As soon as I put them in my truck they went dead. The starter would not even ingage. This charger brings them up to what it calls a full charge but when I put on my Yuasa YUA1200901 Smart Shot Battery Charger it says they are not fully charged. I will be using my Smart charger on the 6 batteries that this charger would not charge and see if there is a difference. I will update this review in 3 days

2/1 UPDATE: DO NOT BUY failed again and now company powersports will not allow return also always check return policy they have a 20% restocking fee -

Expensive gel batteries in my sailboat unexpectedly failed to hold a charge, and this charger was purchased in the hope that it could resurrect them with its patented pulsing charge. In a word, it failed. It did sense and indicate that the batteries could not be recharged, but that was the reason I purchased this charger in the first place, so I cannot say whether or not, under different circumstances, that it wouldn't perform as advertised. I'll keep it as a trickle charger (another use advertised by the manufacturer), though a dedicated trickle charger could have been purchased much more cheaply. Given its construction and features and giving it the benefit of doubt, I rated it 3 stars.

This charger is great! excellent charger and maintainer rolled in one, would recommend this to anyone that has batteries sitting long periods of time.

With a multi car family, charging/desulfating two cars at a time is very time saving. Use it on cars that are used on short local driving to desulfate batteries to tried and extend battery life.

American Hunter Economy Solar Charger

American Hunter Economy Solar Charger, 6-voltI ordered this item to use on my boat as a trickle charger for the 12v Battery. The item in the photo is in a plastic case and the photo appears to be the charger I have seen on other boats. That is why I placed the order. Unfortunately, I was shipped a different model in a metal casing -which does not appear to be as weather proof. Rain and Saltwater appear to able to puddle and leak through seams in the corner. I doubt if the metal casing will be as corrosion resistant, durable, or as eco-friendly as the plastic unit pictured.

There were no instructions or specs provided for the unit. It is not clear how the mounting bracket should be installed. This unit may be fine indoors, in a car, or a dry environment.,but I doubt it will be found very durable in weather.

On the plus side, the unit appears to have more cell and may generate more amps than the unit photoed. Also, shipping was very, very, fast. Probably faster than anything I have ever ordered. In less than 4 days and it was at my front door.

PowerDisc Mini 90-Watt Auto Power Inverter

PowerDisc Mini 90-Watt Auto Power InverterThis little device works great for cell phone charges and the like. But I bought it to use my MacBook Pro while traveling in my car (my partner drives, i ride) and as soon as i plug it in, it goes out. The Mac Book Pro uses an 85 watt plug in so i thought a 90 watt continuos power adapter would be perfect... Not. I guess it can't handle it so it just checks out.

If you only need it for smaller appliances on the go, than it is fine.
