Instapark® Mercury 10M Solar Panel Portable Solar Charger with Built-in Dual USB Ports for iPhone,
As you'd expect, it works better in the summer in AZ and at higher altitude than in the fall & winter in WA & OR. Solar cells need strong sun to work well, period. It easy charges an iPhone about as fast as wall outlet in strong sun (45-80 min.). iPad performance is OK, not stellar, it does work but plan to set aside most of the afternoon (4-5+ hours in strong sun). I've really never achieved a full, 100% iPad charge but it did keep me going for extended Kindle reading at remote campsites. I have had success charging on the car dash as well.
Chinese solar cells have come a long way in price & performance in the last year or so. BTW, this model has increased 20% in price in the last few months, and I would still give it 4 stars at the higher price. It's a bit too heavy for extended backpacking (maybe on an overnighter it'd be OK, but I'd think twice before humping this brick on a long trail). The sleeve has a very handy pocket for the battery, cables and adapters, and the loops make it a cinch to hang from a tree, etc.
Summary: Well worth the purchase price, I'll give a solar panel 5 stars when it works as well as an outlet. The solar panel is impressive and the battery is effective. However, the battery is described as 5600mAh when it is really 5200mAh, a different product. The battery's output is 1amp which is not effective for charging an iPad 3 or 4. The panel will charge the iPad 3 directly, however, in direct sun. When charging an iPad 3 directly, if a cloud passes by, the charging will be interrupted. Instapark sells a 6000mAh, 2amp battery.I needed this for PCI (Personal Continuity Initiative).
I got this item specifically because it can power an iPad. The idea is to get electronic versions of all of the survival manuals and keep them on my iPad in my bug out bag. So after the SHTF, even if all the batteries fail (including the one in the iPad), I will still have enough jooce to figure out how to survive!
This is awesome! Now I just need to get thirteen more of these for all the USB stuff I have! A cell, a navvy, a tablet, a water purifier, radios, netbook, batteries and my desktop warfare USB cannon. And for my electric blanket, of course.I bought this product last December and I can't tell you how much I'm satisfied. It helps me stay in touch with my family while I'm right now in a remote area in Haiti where only the sun provides in energy. Some neighbours also benefit from it, because of its 2 USB ports.Cool to have got it!

Got these as cheep two way radios for 5-yr old daughter. She seems to like them ok but they have a beep with every transmission. Very annoying so they stay on top of fridge most of the time. No option to turn off. Recommend getting ones without automatic beeps or spend more money for option to turn off. Very bad decision to turn on beep. Should have just not had that option turned on.These are a blast! But, I do have to say they don't go the whole mile range like stated on the package. We only get about 1 mile range if that. With that said though they are fun and the kids love them and the quality is pretty nice!DC car power adapter for EMERSON PDE-2722 PDE2725N PDE-2717 PDE-2727 PDE-2725 portable dvd players

The service on finding a replacement cord, ordering and receiving the replacement was quick and painless. We are back in the video watching/traveling mode and everyone is willing to get into the car with the toddler again. Thank you again, Amazon.com, for saving the day.The cord was 18 inches shorter than the original which restricted use of the DVD players.
If we had known this, we would have looked for a longer one. We should have inquired about the length first, but did not think of that. We figured it would be the same as the one we had. It would be helpful if this information was included in the description before sales.i needed a replacement plug for my auto dvd player and this is just what i was looking for.
Arrived pretty quickly too.I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you very much for sending me this adapter, it works great for my children"s dvd. The seller is also someone I highly recommend. I originally bought the wrong adapter, and then was sent the correct one @ no extra charge!! Highly recommended!!!
Thanks again:-)I bought this 8 months ago to replace the cord for our DVD player we use in the car. It still works and there have been no issues.

You will need to add a combiner box, fuses and cable to run from the combiner to the batteries. This was almost another $100 in parts for my RV. A battery monitor is a wise investment, also.
I ended up having to pay an RV solar company to complete the install and add a quality battery monitor. I now have a solar system that will get us thru cold nights (furnance fan runs off battery power) when the days are sunny or we drive over 200 miles. These panels do perform better in lower light and partially shaded conditions than the typical rigid panels.
Knowing what I now know, I would buy this system, again. Should I trade motor homes I don't think these can be moved. They are REALLY stuck tight to the roof.
Stanley PC509 500 Watt Inverter
- 500 continuous watts of power
- Contains a 120 volt power outlet and a USB power outlet
- Features 4 position mounting grommets and direct battery mounts
- Includes battery clips and DC plug
- Offers overload protection, battery alarm, short circuit protection and has fault interrupter
CON'sWorthless because of the safety switch.
In a power inverter, you would expect some loss to the output rating based on your power source. The unit is rated as being able to output 500w on a direct 12v battery terminal as the source. I found the unit struggling to keep up with a 200w coffee maker, designed for low wattage usage for camping and diverse applications. Never-mind if you want to run a 75w laptop on the inverter while in 100w mode (using the cigarette lighter as power source). This unit's safety power overload whatever function is too sensitive, it is ridiculous as i try to balance turning on the unit and plugging my devices into the unit to see how it will function.
I bought it, tried it for a weekend and returned it to Lowes. I will not buy another Stanley electronic device because of this unit.
Buy Stanley PC509 500 Watt Inverter Now
I use a lot of inverters to power various electronics when on the road. Most often it is for laptops, camera, and various charging units. The Stanley PC509 is a decent unit. The two sockets are conveniently placed on the front of the unit. Though not quite enough space to accomodate two power bricks, the placement is more convenient than other units. There is also a USB charging plug so that smaller electronics such as cell phones, Point-and-Shoot cameras, iPods, etc., can be charged with just a USB cable. This more than makes up for the spacing of the plugs. The sockets also have covers which is a nice touch.
There are some minor downsides. First, the unit is much larger than comparable rated units. It's too large to fit in the center console of my car so ended up on the floor. Not a big deal, but the other downside is that the fan is quite loud. The fan doesn't run continuously, but when it does, is quite noticeable even when on the highway.
Other things to note:
1) The cigarette adapter will not power the unit to the full capacity. Though rated at 500W, the cigarette adapters on most cars top out at around 120W. Direct battery connect cables are provided, but if you don't anticipate using it attached to the battery, go with a lower rated unit and save $30.
2) Even without load, this thing will pull power from your battery. I'm not certain if this is true for all inverters, but I almost drained my battery when I left the inverter plugged in.

I've had the unit about one week and have been using it to power a laptop. I have mine tapped directly into a live circuit of my vehicle's wiring. This was a major pain in the butt, but I wasn't sure how well it would run off the cigarette lighter.Cons: I've been having the same problem as David. Sometimes the unit goes into protect mode when I start my vehicle. Yes, this is annoying. Thankfully, I have the unit installed within easy reach, so I can live with the problem... but still annoying. Sometimes it takes several tries to get the unit running again. The fan is also a little noisy, but it rarely runs when I'm using it, so far.
Pros: Key things I like about the overall design and layout of the inverter:
1. Angled receptacles
2. USB charging port
3. Front mounted rocker / power switch, so I can easily turn off the unit when not in use.
Those were the selling points for me, compared with other products on the market. Also the price... $40 at the local big box home improvement center.Manual said to check trouble shooting section if the light blinks. Well, the light blinks after it shuts down and it doesn't work. No mention is made in the trouble shooting section that is of help. Odd, a Black & Decker that has less power works fine though in the same vehicle powering the same items. This is crapprojects...I bought two of these for my windmill. I have a 24v windmill goes to two batteries thus invert to ac current. My lab top went crazy once in a while and the mouse got really sensitive. So I use them for lighting and radio or hopefully to charge my ev car in the future.

It is a compact size in a heavy duty, weatherproof case which makes it great for outdoor applications such as charging batteries on a travel trailer. Very easy to use...just plug it in and walk away. Consider getting extra wiring harnesses for other charging applications. Harnesses make it easy to plug in and charge batteries without having to hook up bulky clamps and cables. Would recommend. This is a great product for protecting your batteries. I have used it for years on my TransAm, which I rarely drive, and my motorcycle. Motorcycle batteries usually last 4 6 years. My last one lasted 9 years. I have a friend who has a Z which he rarely drives; and during the time I had one battery on my TransAm he replaced his 3 times. Amazon's dimension specs for this say that it is almost double the size that it is. The actual correct dimensions are 5.2" L x 5.0" W x 2.0" H. The weight appears to be correct. This error can make a BIG difference if you are planning out the space for it before it arrives. As far as the product itself goes, nothing but positive things to say. I know several people who use these regularly as well for classic cars that sit in storage and they all rave about them as well. I have been using to charge a marine deep cycle battery that I use to power a power-box for my telescope and equipment. It has worked perfectly and does an excellent job charging and keeping a charge on this when not in use.I've used Deltran chargers before and they've always been a solid product. However, the discrepancies between their marketing literature and their instruction booklet, and the general way the instruction booklet is written, means that I can only give them a 4 star rating. Their website states, "any capacity lead acid battery." While the instruction booklet states "designed for six-cell. . . 1.2-200Ah," lead acid batteries. Not a big deal for most, but if you're looking for something to charge batteries in parallel (such as in a diesel truck or marine batteries), it would be good to know which info is correct. Which brings me to my next point. There's nothing in the official literature about using this particular charger to charge more than one battery at a time. I can only guess that if the voltage matches and the amps aren't exceeded, it should do just fine. Another issue is that the instructions only give the steps for hooking-up the alligator clips to the battery, however this unit doesn't come with the clips, just the quick-disconnect ring terminals. It would also be beneficial if they matched-up the marketing and instruction booklet technical specs to battery manufacturer specs. So, if the battery manufacturer recommends a max float charge of x, then state what the float charge of the charger is. This is a well built charger and deserves well written literature to go with it.

We ordered this to replace the converter in our fifth-wheel, 8 mos later it's still working just fine. I was looking for an RV converter that was also good as a charger, and this one looked like the price/performance winner. It's a modern switching power supply with a small footprint, and on command it can operate at a high enough voltage to rapidly bulk charge your properly sized flooded-cell lead-acid deep cycle battery (the dual-voltage key to accomplish this is included with the converter, taped to the cooling fan).Temperature compensation for charge voltage is not available, and I found the use of a square-key bolt for the battery cables perplexing and irritating. I would have much preferred the more common hex-key bolt.
Combined with an inexpensive IOTA IQ4 charge controller, the DLS-55 becomes an automatic 3 stage charger with equalization every 7 days. I liked this as a cheaper, modular solution for my battery maintenance needs. If I am not happy with the IQ4, I can easily replace it with a more expensive charge controller and use it with the DLS-55.I purchased an IOTA charger/converter for my personal travel trailer. I have a RV repair business and I have installed quite a few IOTA charger/converters and have never had a failure. Unfortunately, the unit I installed in my own trailer failed sending too much voltage to the batteries thus ruining a new set of batteries. I was really worried that I would have a hard time collecting for the batteries, however IOTA not only promptly shipped a new unit but upon being furnished the invoice for the batteries promptly reimbursed me for the cost of the batteries. They make a good product and stand behind what they sell I highly recommend IOTA.I purchased this item recently on your website. Extremely pleased with this item..works to my satisfaction and I would highly recommend it.
Instapark® NEW All Black 10W High-Efficiency Mono-Crystalline Solar Panel
I started off by buying one of those 1.8W solar "trickle" chargers, which will not produce enough current to keep my battery charged all the time. I measured the 10W setup today, which is a mid-December sunny day in northern California. Around solar noon I got 250mA, which is a bit less than half of what this panel can do. Keep in mind that the panel was also at about a 45 degree angle to the sun, which will also reduce its power output. I really need 130-150mA for a few hours a day to keep the battery charged. Having that extra 100mA will hopefully bring my battery to a full charge over the course of a few days. My battery was down to 11.87V late last night when I hooked the panel up. By lunchtime the next day, the voltage was 12.2V. My dinky 1.8W only managed to keep the voltage around 12V over several days, which meant it was struggling to keep up at best.
The panel seems fairly well made, but it arrived with some silicone residue that wasn't cleaned off at the factory. There was also a bit of a stain on the aluminum frame. Now, I didn't buy the panel for it's dashing good looks, but it would be nice if they were a bit more careful during assembly. All the tabbing on the solar cells looks to be fairly well done. The clear encapsulating silicone was free of any bubbles. The panel uses the typical "frosted" glass found on many flat panels. It seems like the most critical stuff is reasonably well done. The excessive residue on the panel and the crooked label on the back do bring back the cheapness of this item. Keep in mind i've spent four years working in solar, at a variety of companies. None of them let a panel out the door in the condition this one is in. In all fairness, none of my former employers made $40 panels either. For the money, this seems OK to me. If I wanted high quality, this isn't it. This panel is going to spend its time inside a vehicle, so it won't see the crazy weather, dust, and rain an outdoor solar panel would.
The junction box is easy to open, so that you can replace the short wire fairly easily. It will take a decent soldering iron to desolder the wires, but I managed with my 50W bench top solder station. I ended up putting a 10ft section of 18g a wire so that I had enough to put the panel in the back window of my car if need be. Yes, i could have spliced the wires, but this was a "cleaner" look to my new solar charger.
Overall, this is a good buy for someone needing a low-power panel for keeping a small/mid battery charged. When buying a solar panel, take what you think you need and double it. Unless you're using a two-axis solar tracker and a inverter or charge controller with MPPT, you will not get the claimed power from the panel. For most small installations, it's cheaper to buy more solar panel than worry about some of the other technologies that can squeeze the extra wattage. If you're putting in hundreds of watts or more, then investing in better equipment would be a good choice financially.
Love this solar panel, puts anywhere from 9(low light) to 15 and maybe more volts.
I have heard the cables connected to these panels called "flimsy" what I like is the sleeve that comes on it. In the back there is a little compartment where the soldered connections are made, the cables come out the back, I pushed/wiggled the sleeve inside the box closer to the soldered ends and now the sleeve is taking the pressure if the cable is tugged rather then the soldered connections.
Would buy again, probably will but bigger :)

I was considering this and the Ramsond 10 Watt Solar Panel. I bought this over the Ramsond as a misspec (somewhere) indicated this was thinner and would pack smaller in a Jamboree Duffel (see below). Amazon has correct (if not updated) dimensions. My application is "Simple Cell Solar" for the 2013 National Jamboree. The goal is full cell charges nightly with a day or twos reserve for my Razr Maxx and my son's iPhone 5

-Instapark® NEW All Black 10W High-Efficiency Mono-Crystalline Solar Panel
-ExcessUPS APC Smart UPS Back-UPS BK BP CS RBC 2 RBC2 New Replacement Battery Cartridge UPS Battery Pack
-1N5822 40V 3A Blocking Diode (only need 1)
-"Watt's Up" RC Watt Meter & Power Analyzer WU100 Version 2 (for measurements ; not needed for deployment)
In full sun I'm maxing at 7.3 Watts at about 14V . Note that you won't see 10 Watts without MPP charger as maximum power is specified at 17 or 18 volts. This deployment (and anything similar) will voltage/current balance to the battery. This isn't a limitation of this cell but I'm pointing out what you can realistically expect without a very fancy MPPT charger.
Advantages:
Good quality construction (but check your caulking as others needed to)
Appears to meet rated specs (and note real-life derating without MPPT devices)
Disadvantages:
Doesn't include blocking diode. Your battery will discharge (at some rate) through the cell at night and on overcast days. Pretty much any charge controller will eliminate this need if you go that route.
Wire sheath wasn't under the strain relief bracket inside the junction. Easy to fix but you should check this.
It's Black. Solar panels become less efficient when hot which is why all panels (except for the cells) aren't black. This one is. Impact? I haven't computed it; may not be enough non-cell black space to worry.
Required some cleanup with alcohol; caulk bits/handling on glass and on two opposing corners. No biggie but it looked dirty.
Corner miter edges had sharp edges knocked off (good) but not finished/re-finished. Sharpie. No biggie but a detail.
Overall I think it's a great value; I think the Ramsond is probably comparable; I wish it (they) had the blocking diode as too many people "try solar" and have issues and a blocking diode helps fool proof them (and is necessary for direct battery hookup).
Tom Tom Incorporated Hands-Free Car Kit for iPhone
- Hands-free Calling - Bluetooth connects your phone and car kit so you can make and answer calls safely while driving. Hands-free calling uses the car kit speakers and microphone. And it works even if your phone's not docked.
- Extendable microphone - Clip the extendable microphone to the sun visor in your car to bring it closer. With less background noise, your conversations will be even clearer.
- Sound Boost - A built-in 2 watt speaker brings quality audio to your car. Hear hands-free calls and navigation instructions loud and clear with Sound Boost.
- Easy-reach answer and reject buttons - The easy-reach answer and reject buttons work even when your phone is not docked. On short journeys where you don't need navigation, you can answer or reject calls with your phone in your pocket.
- Voice menu and spoken instructions - Connect your phone easily using the voice menu that gives you spoken instructions on how to pair a phone. The spoken instructions take you through step-by-step and give feedback such as 'phone connected'.
Pros.
-Blu tooth works great. Once you pair your phone it remembers pairing. Starting car without phone in dock you immediately get a voice prompt telling your phone is connected.
-It remembers volume setting. Doesn't revert back to middle volume but stays at set level.
-you don't have to remove case to use dock. 30 pin connector tilts forward place phone on connector tilt it back and it locks in place. To remove phone just push top holding arm back and tilt phone forward to remove.
-fast charges your phone while you are using it.
-built in 2watt speaker should be plenty in a car. (I have a pick up truck that doesn't filter out noise very well so have to turn speaker on full)
NO MORE removing phone from case!!!!!
Cons
-no GPS chip built in, my old tomtom does. Only useful if you have apps that could use the chip.
-bigger than old dock, but this is to accommodate telescoping top arm (locks phone in place)
-old dock suction cup smaller and closed flatter for transportation.
-default position for microphone on right hand side, as driver it would make more sense to have it on left side closer to driver when mounted towards middle of windshield or dash. (Mic can be clipped to visor but then you have another wire in the way.
-old tomtom dock had audio out port on side built in to run wire to cars aux port in. You could just leave it plugged in 24/7 no need to remove it.
This unit does not you must plug audio cable into headphone jack on phone. You must insert and remove it each time.
Overall a nice dock. Mount turns to hold phone vertical or horizontal. Since it locks top and bottom in place should work with any apple 30 pin device like I touch. With blue tooth you don't need phone in holder to use speaker.
This review for 30 pin connector they have a version for the new iPhone / I touch.

First of all it will not charge a dead battery battery must have at least 7 volts, which only means you have to put your battery on a standard charger for an hour or so and then put this charger on.Second it states it is supposed to desulfate batteries / restore them I have yet to confirm this after charging 7 different batteries
third for some reason it does not like interstate batteries I tried 2 of them and it would not work on them unless I went through a few differnent steps
forth I tried 2 different dry cell batteries would not charge either on
fifth on deep cycle batties it took over 7 days to charge it up after a full charge I put it back on a week later and showed only a 50% charge
It might be fine for maintaining batteries and I like the fact I can charge 2 batteries at the same time would I buy it again no. The reason is I wanted a charger that would desulfate my batteries and this one does not perform that function, or at least to my satisfaction. I was trying to avoid spending big money but you get what you pay for.
I would not recommend this charger unless you just wanted a trickle charger
I was going to give it 3 stars but after reading my review I knocked it down to 2 just does not messure up to the ad hipe. If only if worked half as good as it sounded
update: 1/17/13 product states 14+ volts but only charges up to 13. I have tried 6 different batteries and it has not worked an any of them. As soon as I put them in my truck they went dead. The starter would not even ingage. This charger brings them up to what it calls a full charge but when I put on my Yuasa YUA1200901 Smart Shot Battery Charger it says they are not fully charged. I will be using my Smart charger on the 6 batteries that this charger would not charge and see if there is a difference. I will update this review in 3 days

Expensive gel batteries in my sailboat unexpectedly failed to hold a charge, and this charger was purchased in the hope that it could resurrect them with its patented pulsing charge. In a word, it failed. It did sense and indicate that the batteries could not be recharged, but that was the reason I purchased this charger in the first place, so I cannot say whether or not, under different circumstances, that it wouldn't perform as advertised. I'll keep it as a trickle charger (another use advertised by the manufacturer), though a dedicated trickle charger could have been purchased much more cheaply. Given its construction and features and giving it the benefit of doubt, I rated it 3 stars. This charger is great! excellent charger and maintainer rolled in one, would recommend this to anyone that has batteries sitting long periods of time. With a multi car family, charging/desulfating two cars at a time is very time saving. Use it on cars that are used on short local driving to desulfate batteries to tried and extend battery life.OEM Car Kit Vehicle Plug in Adapter + Home Wall AC Travel Charger + USB 2.0 Data Cable + Leather Cas

the only negative thing I can think of is that I would have prefered the pouch to have a fastener at the end so that it doesn't fall out.I do use this and appreciate having the extra battery source on hand and portable; however, it is not enough to charge my phone completely only about 70% charge when it quits charging my phone. (Razr M)I bought one of these because my mom had one from another brand. I love it, it does what it is suppose to. My boyfriend used it all the time so I bought another. It's sleek and people always think its really cool. Only con I can think of is the little pouch it comes with is useless, I use an old small soft camera case to carry mine in my purse. The first time I used it it charged my iPhone 4 to 100%. I recharged the Pebble for the next day's adventure. When I needed t the next day, I used it and it charged my phone to 76% and was dead. It got me through the day but...I had hoped for more for my money.I love this handy dandy little device. I enjoy knowing that when my phone is dying I don't have to go on a scavenger hunt for a wall plug I can just plug it up in my purse and go!

Ingersoll-Rand (IRTW7150K2) IQv20 Li-Ion 1/2" Drive Impact Wrench Kit with Charger and Two Batteries
Pros: Good Battery Life, Battery Charges Quickly (about 30 minutes), Lithium Ion, Ergonomic design, tremendous torque.
Cons: Compared to the two mentioned above, the gun does not feel as sturdy or solid as the other two. Also the placement and size of the directional switch is not very ideal.

I have received my Impact Gun back from Repair. The gun was just completely replaced. I am a very satisifed customer and would recommend the product highly. It's just as nice as they say it is. I haven't used any other cordless 1/2 impacts, but I've used the air versions of most (snap on, mac, matco, ingersoll). This thing will do anything the air versions will do. I pulled it out of the box and took a 1-1/2" lug nut off of a 22.5 bud rim on a tractor trailer without issue. That lug nut was installed with a 1" ingersoll air impact. You be the judge. Not having to run an air hose to achieve tremendous torque is a great time saver. It also greatly increases the versatility of the tool.I was on a budget and I needed big power right away. Buying a air compressor, hose, tools and such was out of the question. I'm glad I took the chance on this cordless. Changed my mind forever when it busted loose an AXLE NUT. For those that don't know, axle nuts are several more times difficult to break loose than lug nuts, especially on a rusted wheel. That nut actually ended up breaking two of my breaker bars. But it didn't stand a chance against this cordless impact. Best tool I ever bought.
