It does transmit a signal, but it is very full of static and a slight change in its location can drastically change the signal quality. I've only used it my car so far so maybe that is part of the reason why the signal is weaker than I would like. You can charge your mp3 player while also playing from it which is nice.It was delivered fast and in pretty good condition. The screen was a little scratched but not enough to matter. It didn't come with any directions so I'm not sure what exactly all the buttons do (the important ones are easy to figure out), or how to change the temperature to F instead of C lol The transmitter has a usb port on it, but it seems to be just for charging (unless I just have my dock settings wrong on my phone). I just got this today and have opened it. I haven't used it in my car yet, but it seems to work fine. The only thing I have an issue with is that there are no directions; it is simple enough to use, but I'm not sure what the memory function, etc., does. I will change this review if a problem arises.

While I've found this impact wrench to be more than capable, it has two major short-comings for those considering a battery operated impact for shop/professional use.
First, the anvil incorporates a detent pin, for retaining the socket. This makes the placing/changing a socket on the impact difficult, for most sockets. While those sockets with considerable wear usually go-on without much fight, most sockets either have to be forced onto the anvil, or the detent pin has to be manually depressed to get the socket to slip over the pin. Removing the socket can be even more problematic, if the detent pin is accidently placed into the retainer-hole that is drilled into most impact sockets. You must use a small diameter phillips or torx screwdriver to manually depress the detent pin, before it will release the socket.
Second, the "trigger" switch is non-standard and functionally poor in design. Unlike most impacts, the switch is a pivoting type of rocker-switch that is approximately 2" in length. This requires you to either reposition your hand to change from removing a bolt/nut to tightening a bolt/nut or to use your index finger for removal and ring-finger to tighten. Several people "inadvertently" used the impact in the wrong direction before getting use to the rocker-switch, and in one case significant shop-time was wasted extracting a bolt that was sheared as a result.
To the positive, this impact is very strong when it comes to bolt/nut removal. I've had it remove 32mm axle-nuts, where a 25" breaker bar could not "break" the axle-nut loose after repeated tries and this was not on a fresh battery. I routinely use it to remove pinch-bolts (spindles), subframe bolts (front wheel drive transmissions), and U-bolts (rear axle assemblies), without any significant problem.
Overall, I rate this cordless impact as follows:
Ability (5) outperforms other battery-operated impacts in the same price and torque range
Design (3) detent pin significantly increases time required to change sockets; the rocker-switch can be difficult for some to adapt to especially when you routinely change between an air-impact and cordless-impact.
Price (5) performs nearly as well as higher-priced cordless impacts, such as Milwaukee and Snap-On
Useability (3) again due to the added time required to change impact sockets (detent pin) and non-standard trigger-switch, it detracts from use in situations where the socket must be frequently changed.
If DeWalt were to produce this same cordless impact with a hog-ring type retaining anvil, as well as a single-pull switch and separate directional switch like the DC823B I could see this becoming the defacto standard in mid-range cordless impact wrenches.
Overall, I rate the DeWalt DW059B/K Impact Wrench a (4).

Great price without the battery. Very powerful. Able to easily remove lug nuts without effort or the need for a breaker bar.Get it if you need something small (relatively) that can remove multiple sets of wheels without breaking a sweat.
Only gripe...the trigger. It isn't like a regular dewalt drill where there is the button you push back and forth to change the direction the drill goes when you pull the trigger, the trigger has an upper and lower portion...a little harder to use but fine none the less.Good tool and price but one problem, the socket retaining device broke the very first time I used it.
The impact socket wouldn't come off for anything the first time, I ended up putting the socket in a vice and pounding the socket off with a punch and hand sledge though the center of the socket. Retainer parts flew when it finally busted loose. Don't think there was anything I could have done differently. I'm sure I could send the unit back but it seems to hold the sockets on just fine without the retainer. Besides I don't see how a replacement wrench would be any different.
As far as strength goes, it was able to break a 8" long 3/8" lag bolt in half. I've been grabbing it every time since I got instead of my 1/2" IR pneumatic impact. It's been able to break loose tractor tire lug nuts that were torqued to 250 ft/lbs.
Hard to beat that.First of all, I never had air before. So I bought this instead of buying compressor and the hole nine yards.
I already had a 18v dewalt drill with a nicad battery. The battery is about 1 year old with not much use. At first when receiving this impact drill, I felt weak power so right away I made sure by fully charging the battery I had and trying it out. It worked well, but with automotive you know there are some stubborn bolt/nuts because of normal oxidation and things. So I would use heat/breaker bar then this which worked fine.
So just a month ago I bought the new dewalt lithium-ion battery with charger. Charged the battery and it sat for like 2 weeks. Finally had some work to do on a car where my elcheapo air tools frustrated me. Pulled out the impact drill and plugged in the new battery.
This beast blasted nuts off that I even had a hard time with a 18 inch breaker bar(more to do with position clearance; I have some guns on my arm).
So I came to the part where I put the new parts in. Normally I would torque to specs but I would at least use the drill to get close where i don't need to ratchet. I accidentally broke a bolt with this drill. It works so fast that I wasn't able to release and sure enough it snapped off the bolt with nut. Luckily it was an easy fix but I just wanted to warn people not to underestimate the ft pounds mentioned on this tool.

Before Hurricane Sandy made landfall, forecasters in my area warned of prolonged power outages that could possibly last a week or longer. Thankfully, my area didn't take the brunt of the storm, but it got me thinking about what I would do for communications during a prolonged outage. I have a couple external, rechargeable batteries I could use to charge my iPhone, but what would I do once they were dead? Solar chargers are available, but the technology doesn't seem to be quite there yet and most reviews indicate they can take up to a week of clear, blue skies to recharge fully.The Energizer Instant Charger is a practical choice. Although it comes with single-use Lithium batteries (expensive), you can use any brand rechargeable AA NiMH batteries in it (I personally like Rayovac's Hybrid AA batteries, which can be found for under ten dollars for a 4-pack at many stores). This allows you to keep as many backup batteries on hand as you like in the event of a power outage (you can use alkalines as well). So if it comes down to it, you could keep your phone charged with batteries from your remotes, clocks, etc. And for times when you don't need it, you can use the batteries in your Wiimotes, digital cameras, and other devices, so you don't need to keep batteries specifically dedicated to this charger.

It's about the size of an older style small cellphone, so if you're carrying a backpack, or purse, no problem but you probably don't want another item in your pocket?
So, how about in your car glove box, or in your carry on bag when traveling? Well, these days if you have a spare charging lead (pretty inexpensive) or a spare USB lead (also pretty inexpensive) chances are you're never far away from a USB charging station in most airports, or even in your car (on newer models anyway) or you probably even have a USB to AC adapter?
So back to square one, if you are in the middle of nowhere, or on a camping trip for example and your phone battery dies, and you were carrying this either on your person, or in a bag or purse, Hey Presto! back up life for your phone.
For that, price, and looks I give it 4 stars.

Let me say that this charger works well... but keep in mind, you should use this charger for emergencies only. why? Well the connection can be quite flimsy and if you have a particular case which is not completely open at the bottom, forget it... You'll need to remove your case completely. Why do I say use for emergencies? There are so many other battery/chargers around you can easily get something that would work better (like a Zagg Sparq), However, this shines when you have no access to outlets, need a charge and only have AA batteries.Now as for does it work? Yes it works well with lithium batteries. I havent gotten the 2x performance, but will say i have been able to fully charge the device after being down to about 30%. Now keep in mind they recommend you use lithium batteries, which have a price premium hence another reason to look at other chargers for daily use.
Last thing to not... if you have an iPhone 5 don't buy this, it wont work with it unless you have the apple adapter.

I'm on the road for work, a lot. Around the world, in and out of airports, cabs, hotels, and so on. I try my best to keep my creaky iPhone 3GS charged, but the darn battery wears down so fast that it's a chore. I'm consistently finding myself arriving somewhere with a dead phone, no plugs in site, and no time to hunt one down. That's where this is a godsend.Pros:
Charges my phone completely in about an hour. I don't have to pay attention to it just hook the parts together and let 'er rip.
Takes any AA batteries. This is good, since they're ubiquitous worldwide, and I can always find them somewhere.

If you have an iPhone 4S or earlier, and you wish to prepare for disaster, this is the charger for you. It accepts alkaline disposable, NiMh rechargable, and lithium disposable batteries. Energizer thoughtfully provided a set of its own lithium disposable batteries. This type of battery is great for disasters because they will wait happily for 10 years or more for the disaster to start.Being able to accept alkaline cells is also great. Personally, I hate alkalines because they frequently leak on me. But in an extended disaster, you will want to be able to use whatever battery type is available. Alkalines are available everywhere.
No cable to lose, and the protective cap grips reasonably well.
I like the "slide out" battery tray. When you change batteries, you do not disassemble the charger so you won't lose any pieces. Well, except for the protective cap. Watch that one.
Durability seems OK. It looks strong enough to survive a fall of a few feet. If you sit on it, you'll probably smash it.
The only negative I can find is that this charger might be too specialized for some people. It will only charge Iphones and iPod Touches, and is not compatible with the latest models such as iPhone 5. The fact that there is no cable means that your iPhone and charger form one very long and slightly unstable unit while connected. That's the trade-off for having no cord to lose.
If you do not have landline telephone service at home, then it would be useful to have this charger at home. Change the batteries every 10 years or so, and don't forget where you stashed it.

Bought these on 6/6/7.Right out of the box these Lenmar 1000mAh could be charged hardly to 600mAh. After several days of retesting they could barely be charged till 600-900mAh. Very disappointed by this gross misrepresentation. This Lenmar product should be sold as 600mAh. The only reaction from Lenmar's seller ANTOnline was they don't know what they are selling.

I've had 8 of these AAAs that I've been heavily using for well over a year along with a couple dozen AAs. All have them been running fine at their expected mah rating. They've excepted a charge fine every time on 3 of my chargers, all of different brands. However, about half of the AAs would not accept a charge on a fourth, Sony, 15-minute charger. So if you have problems, just try a different charger.I'm buying 10 more of these today.

i use these batteries in a little lcd book lamp... i read for hours and hours and they keep powering the light... before i bought the rechargables, i used a few set of alkalines...i can't see any difference between the two types...except for the cost benefit of the rechargeables.

I love taking my family on winter and ski vacations. I also love going to different and remote ski resorts. I found myself booking a vacation in Eden, Utah which is town just minutes away from a true skiing paradise... Powder Mountain. The only thing that I don't like about this beautiful mountain resort is the lack of any reliable cellular service. It does lack some of the features of my more expensive Midland walkie talkies, but makes up for it by being simpler to operate and lighter in weight. I was able to use the Motorola all over the mountain and the sound quality remained way above average. All in all, this is a good quality walkie talkie with a fair price that also performs well in real world situations.

I like to listen to podcasts while I drive around. This shockingly pink version was a bit cheaper than the other colors, so I ordered it anyway. I love the fact that I can drive around and listen to my podcasts while my iPod Touch battery actually GAINS a charge. Now I don't have to remember every night to plug in my iPod Touch so its battery won't die on me during the day. This product works well. It has a bright red LED on the plug that you slide in to your cigarette lighter, which means the LED stays lit even when the car is off and the key is removed. (You don't have to worry about this because the LED takes such a tiny amount of power that it won't wear down your car battery at all.) The plug is just the right length to slide all the way in to the cigarette lighter socket so I can still unplug the cord and shut the ash tray. Since the plug has a standard USB adapter on it, presumably you could plug any USB device into it, so you could charge or power other USB devices, as long as they don't draw too much power (probably not a good idea to plug in that USB coffee mug warmer you got for Christmas) but pocket cameras and cell phones with USB cables should probably be okay.

The step is very stable and the surface provides a good grip.
Cons: Not really too important, but the release to fold the legs are a little bit difficult to operate.

You definitely will need the programming cable as the included directions are not enlightening for programming the radio with the keypad. The programming software for the radio is a minimal spreadsheet program. There are better free aftermarket alternatives (there is an active Yahoo group devoted to this radio, there are plenty of Youtube videos, and there is an aftermarket programming package called CHIRP which is a better software program). Make sure that you firmly attach the cable as failure to attach the cable properly will lead to frustration.
The stock antenna is ok if you live under a repeater. For those not living under a repeater an aftermarket antenna is a good upgrade.
For operational purposes the radio transmits and receives quite well and will operate for quite some time on the rechargeable battery that is included with the radio.
For $62 you also have a radio that if it should fall into a lake, get lost or some other calamity strike you can replace it.

The Baofeng UV-5R is not an APX7000, so if you're expecting that, you're not going to be impressed. If you want a good, reliable inexpensive dual band HT that is in fact a COMMERCIAL (it IS FCC part 90 certified) Radio, this is for you. Out of the box, it comes complete with a good 1800mah lithium ion battery, belt clip, hand strap and drop in charger. If you're familiar with commercial radios, you'll feel at home programming the UV-5R with the free software, but you'll need to purchase a USB cable if you don't already have one (this radio uses the same 2-pin Kenwood LMR style cable that Wouxun, TYT and many others use). The cables are less than $20.You get 128 channels with any combination of VHF or UHF channels. Another plus is the radio ACTUALLY SUPPORTS NARROWBAND, INCLUDING SPLINTER CHANNELS. This is a HUGE plus if you want to use the radio to listen (or transmit, if you're authorized) to public safety after 2013 when the FCC mandates narrowband on VHF and UHF. Many agencies are also going to channel steps most ham radios cannot properly tune (e.g. 154.8225). The UV-5R uses DSP, so it has great audio on both transmit and receive. Reports I got about my transmit audio were great, and I noticed if I spoke loudly, the DSP did a good job of attenuating the voice to a tame level.
The display is fairly easy to read, and for it's size the keys are easy to press. What I really like is the large volume knob with integrated power switch, no accidental turn off of buttons! The PTT key is easy to actuate and you don't get fatigue for long conversations. Speaker is loud, though I don't think it has the 1 watt of audio the specifications state. It is loud enough to hear in a crowd or driving down the road with the window open. Construction of this HT is solid, does not feel like a $50 radio, more like a $150 radio.
The only downsides are the poorly written manual, but hey, this is a $50 radio not a $500 radio. If you've used LMR type radios, you'll be able to get around in the software, the menu system also lets you control many of the radios' features. It does have an FM radio, which actually has great sensitivity, and the flashlight feature is easy to actuate using the lower side button and actually comes in handy.
All in all, this is a great ham HT that has the unique ability to LEGALLY operate on part 90 (commercial) frequencies (for those duly authorized), has great performance, and a long battery life. For the price, you cannot go wrong with it. I would buy another and probably will.You get what you pay for. Not for a newbie when programming since the instructions are half a step above useless, and definitely translated. Some of the voice prompts are still in Chinese (low battery). You can get help from some internet user groups specifically for this radio. Programming the repeater offset in memory mode is not what I expected, and not in the instructions... you program the channel twice, once for receive, another for send. You really need to program the channels from a computer. I spent the extra money to get a USB programming cable to match, and downloaded the programming software from one of the user groups. From what I read it was worth getting the genuine cable. Some others commented they bought cheaper versions that turned out not to be compatible with the USB drivers.
I do like the voice prompts... you can use it in the dark, or one-handed without looking at it.
I wanted an inexpensive backup, and that is what it is. Seems to be sturdy, and does the trick, but my 25 year-old Kenwood still outperforms it on 2M.
So far, I am still glad I bought it for a backup.

Excellent handheld!I disagree with others on the complexity of programing, I would characterize it as different.
If you know what repeater offset is, then you'll have little difficulty programing this unit.
If you don't, then just use it in simplex mode, the way it came out of the box.
Other makes are more automated, however if you know what settings you want the features are clear and present.
All of this at the price point of the competitors battery.

I'm no expert on HAM HT radios, but for the price, this is a fantastic little radio. I have another common Chinese brand and I think this one beats it hands down. It is smaller\lighter and looks better. Sound is clearer\louder. Reception is stronger. And it has better features. I would highly recommend it. But, purchase a programming cable and download the PC software. That is a much easier way to program the radio.

1. There is a slight static in background
2. The volume is GREAT for listening to music
3. The Music continues to play when using Vlingo (Droid Incredible) when it reads txt messages to me so I can't really hear what the "voice" is saying.
4. Tried calling another person and it worked great...they heard me fine and I can hear them perfect (again have not tried this on the road yet).
5. I mounted mine via the clip and holds tight. Might switch to adhesive mount for cleaner look at a later date.

Product is GREAT!
1. You can't hear static when riding.
2. At 80mph could still hear when calling and person on other end could hear perfect. (I did not have wind blocker on helmet)
3. Once I got used to Blinc M1 the user interface works better.
4. Awesome part of product is that when synced to phone (HTC Incredible) the knob on side can be used to switch between songs!! Great for shuffle option on phone!
5. Clip mount works great...has not moved yet!
6. At just $100 I would highly recommend the purchase...can't beat the convenience.

PROS:Paid $99 with free shipping. That's the cheapest one I've seen so far.
Controls are easy to use with gloves on, the dial for changing music tracks is very nice.
Loud. I can hear music at freeway speeds inside my full-face helmet.
People could understand me on the phone at 40mph.
CONS:
No dedicated plug for the charger, shares the same plug as the speaker/microphone assembly. You have to unplug one to plug the other in.
Proprietary charger plug.
The "clip" fastener was useless for me because the plug for the headset wiring sticks out pretty far and it would hit my shoulder and unplug. Using the stick-on mounting plate to place the unit higher on my helmet solved this.
OTHER:
Volume buttons could be bigger but they're adequate.
Play/Pause is handled by holding the "volume down" button for 3 seconds. Odd but acceptable.
It comes with a boom mic, it would have been better with a mic made specifically to go inside a full-face helmet.I've owned the M1 for about a month now and have done about 250-300 miles using it. It does what it claims to do, which is why I gave it 4/5 stars but there are a few things that are really annoying.
Setup is easy, however, if you own a SHOEI RF1000 Helmet don't expect this unit to fit as easily as you see in the videos on Youtube. Unlike most of the helmets you see portrayed in the demos online the Shoei RF1000 does not allow you to pop out the rear padding of the helmet. I had to shove (with a pencil eraser) the wire between the helmet and the padding till it got stuck up there. So Shoei owners, and people who own helmets with a permanently attached rear padding, beware.
The microphone works great (I can only speak as to full-face helmet use)and up to 60 miles an hour the person on the other line doesn't really notice any difference. You can carry a conversation at 70 MPH but you will be straining a little. The speakers work great but I have a constant low buzz/squeaky noise coming from them when I get a call. I have yet to use this device to listen to music but I imagine you could hear music just fine no matter the speed. I ride a Honda 919 with Sato pipes so if your bike is quiet you could possibly get even better results.
I wish that there was some kind of clip holding the usb cables from the wiring to the unit as over time, I can definitely see the cables just falling out of the unit while going fast.
This is easy to use and setup and works pretty well. I will update this review once I get another m1 to communicate with my wife.

Well it works... It's loud enough to hear even with straight pipes, but it's super weak when it comes to picking up the blouetooth signal from my phone. It cuts out a lot once you put the phone in your pocket (very annoying) and if you sweat while you ride then you're gonna hear a lot of static from the headphones. Maybe I just used it too hard cause when I first got it it seemed to function way better, but I don't think I've been rough on it. It does charge quick and lasts a good while. My biggest problem is the fact that it doesn't pick up the signal from my pocket, and if it does pick it up it cuts out as soon as you turn your head to look over your shoulder. I bought this on a whim because I wanted to be able to listen to music on long rides. I opted for the permanent installation because the clip wouldn't fit my helmet. The clip was too small to fit around the bottom of my helmet (AFX DS-39 Awesome helmet BTW). So I carefully placed the speakers where they would fit comfortably on my ears, routed the wires through the bottom of the helmet and put everything back together. It was great, I had minimal wires showing where they connected to the unit and the speakers were just fine on the comfort scale.I paired my phone to the unit and started playing some music. IT WORKED! Next, I wanted to test it on the road.
So I have a dual sport bike with a small Enduro tank bag. The tank bag has a velcro piece that sits on top with a clear plastic window that you can slide things in to. This, I figured, would be the perfect place to put my phone as it was the closest location to the bluetooth unit without being tied to my helmet (/joke).
Bottom line, this thing is crap. The phone was no more than 1.5 feet away from my helmet at all times and the signal would cut in and out. I'd rather listen to wind noise. It went a little something like this... 2 seconds of music, silence, 4 seconds of music, 5 seconds of silence, 2 seconds of music... you get the picture.
I could not, in good faith, recommend this to anyone in the market for a bluetooth helmet system. I am either going to sell this piece of junk or try to return it. I am very disappointed but that's what I get for buying the cheapest thing on the market.

These cables are so small that I misplaced mine, and since I only use the shuffle on rare occasions I was not about to go to the Apple store and buy a replacement.
