Power Bright VC3000W Voltage Transformer 3000 Watt Step Up/Down 110 Volt - 220 Volt

Where I am, there are at least 3 different power standards (US, UK, and the rest of Europe), but I have only US appliances. Everywhere is charging like $150 for a 1000 watt transformer, or $200 for 2000 watt. The place we moved into has only generator-powered British standard, and it trips very easily. I plugged this transformer in just fine when many of my suite mates were having problems with theirs tripping the power. This one did not trip.
There is also no noise. My roommate got a free military transformer though some connections, who knows how old it is? We put it in the corner under thick blankets and it still makes a loud buzzing. With this one, you only hear it for 1 second when you first turn it on, and it is completely silent even under full load. Disclaimer: DO NOT pack insulation or anything like blankets around any transformersJust erring on side of fire and electrical safety. Honestly, this thing is not producing any amount of heat that I can tell.
It has a power selector on the back to switch input from 110V, 200V, 220V, and 240V. Comes with 3 fuses, one in the unit and 2 replacements. Has 2 outputs-one US and one universal.
It has a heavy duty US-style power plug with a ground/earth pin, and comes with a solid-feeling Europe-style plug adapter with grounding/earthing side-leads, but I am using it plugged into a British style "surge protecting" plug adapter with grounding/earthing. I hear transformers aren't meant to be used with surge protectionwhether it's plugging into or being plugged into I don't know. If you need a transformer you need to research this.
This was definitely a lucky first-find and after seeing all the hassles my peers have had with their converters, I'm already thinking of getting another. If they found a good one, they had to pay way more than $115, and many paid more for boxes that shorted after a week. What is it then? Just a heavy door stop.
Also, don't try to replace the fuse with the unit plugged into an active outlet, even if the switch on the unit is OFF. I haven't blown any yet, but I just wanted to check. Anyway, don't ask-let's just say I'm bleedin' out the ears and I may potentially be cured of my crippling depression. Fine, yeah I shocked myself. It didn't feel great. So what? Big whoop. Wanna fight about it?
UPDATE!!-- Since writing this I left my camp and sold this converter. I came back and bought another one. The new one I received produced a noticeable smell from manufacturing but NOT the smell of frying/shorting/stressed electrical equipment I'm somewhat familiar with (unrelated). It slowly went away and was completely unnoticeable after about 2 or 3 weeks. The smell was like heated crayons or something-probably from the enamel finish on the box. I have been using this converter to push mostly a VERY hungry hot water kettle. It was also very expensive and the kettle is still going strong. I also use a big burr-mill style coffee grinder that uses much more power than the spinning blade type. I also keep a very large air purifier running at various speeds all the time. The converter handles all 3 very demanding appliances brilliantly. We use this to run a treadmill we bought in Europe. With other transformers of comparible size, we found our circuit breaker would shut down when we energized the transformer. But this one has no such issue. There seems to be no impact at all on our electrical system when we energize this. And the treadmill works great.

Have been using this over in the UK now for 6 months with my gaming system, monitor, phones, routers and 2 seperate 5.1 surround sound speaker systems plugged in. Never had a fuse blow out, no flickers in power. Perfect to date!Bought this machine from Amazon and it worked 3 times and then died. Used a powerful blender, Vita Mix, and was excited that it made perfect smoothies, however; very short lived! After making 3 smoothies in 3 days, the machine just died on me. Checked the fuse and it's alright but changed it anyway just to make sure. Still not working! Very frustrated. Tried a 200w transformer and thank God, the Vita Mix is sluggishly whirring but this tells me that my blender works and not the 3000w transformer. Googled PowerBright and their website is down. Where do you contact the manufacturer for a replacement. It's driving me bananas! Problem is it was bought 3 months from US and we are now in the Middle East.... and this thing is very heavy for shipping. Is it worth is to spend more to ship it that what the product is worth.Want Power Bright VC3000W Voltage Transformer 3000 Watt Step Up/Down 110 Volt - 220 Volt Discount?
I've been using my 3kW-rated Power Bright transformer to power my UK-spec hi-fi system in Canada continually for four years now without any problems at all. It competently supplies my amplifier, CD-player, turntable and active sub-woofer without any surges, trips, noise or excess heat whatsoever. The product looks and feels reassuringly rugged and industrial, but it's otherwise inconspicuous in my living room in all other aspects besides appearance. Note that it converts mains voltage but not frequency, so check that your equipment is happy with AC 50-60Hz.Tenergy TL-100 Universal Li-Ion Charger for 18650, RCR123A cells

We have a few major problems with this unit, so I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.* Very poor build quality this broke on me day two from a 24 inch fall from my desk.
* Very slow charging It will take around 12 hours to charge a regular set of batteries
* Batteries included with this via amazon don't work with most flashlights
Buy a better quality product.

GPS Replacement Battery For GARMIN Nuvi Model 760 760T 765 765T Part 361-00019-11 1250Mah installed easily and works perfectly. No problems at all.My Garmin Nuvi was acting up with strange behavior. I purchased this battery and installed it. The Garmin is working good as new. Thanks!I bought this to replace the completely dead battery in my Garmin Nuvi 760 which wouldn't even power the unit up when it was plugged in! Be sure you have the correct tools to open up the GPS though. I had to purchase mine for $5 at Home Depot as you need a very small T-10 bit. I know they sell kits that include this piece on Amazon but for $5 I purchased a very nice kit containing a variety of small T drivers. Once you remove the 2 small screws replacing the battery is as easy as opening the case, removing the old battery, reuse the double sided tape and place on new battery. Plug new battery in, click case back together, replace the 2 screws and you are finished. It took me about 5 minutes total. The battery came fully charged and has been working flawlessly since I changed the battery. I highly recommend going this route as for the small investment you have a perfectly working GPS again. Honestly my GPS is less glitchy now then it was when it was new!I was able to replace the gps battery myself very easily. I did watch a YouTube video to see how to do it, and had to get a very small Allen wrench to remove the two screws. Some products include the video and tool for a little more money. I would recommend getting the package deal. I saved some money, but it took me several days to get the tool. It was exactly as described and arrived within 3 days.Delphi XM Roady XT Satellite Radio Receiver

- Ultra-compact XM satellite radio receiver specifically designed for vehicle use
- Accesses more than 150 commercial-free channels of music, sports, talk, news, and entertainment
- Plug-and-play design transmits signal through wireless FM transmitter and car cradle
- Displays channel name, artist name, and song title on high-contrast display; customizable sports and stock tickers
- Measures 3.7 by 2.2 by 0.61 inches (WxHxD); 1-year warranty
The sports ticker is great also. I was able to set it up for every NFL team, so there doesn't appear to be any limit on its size. It's not instantaneous, however; it takes about 2-3 minutes for an actual change in the score to be reflected in the ticker.
There is also a "Jump" button which allows you to flip to the previous channel.
The "Tuneselect" feature now allows you to search for songs not only by the song title, but by the artist name as well. This is accessed through the menu screen. You do, however, have to pick one or the other.
Another big plus: The Roady XT now gives you access to virtually the entire FM spectrum (88.1-107.9) if you want to listen via the FM modulator. The "Jump" button also comes into play here as well. If you hold it in for a few seconds, it will bring up a screen showing the last 6 FM frequencies you used. You can then use the arrow buttons to go to the one you want, then hit "Select." And by setting your in-dash radio's presets to the corresponding FM frequencies, it makes it much easier to adjust the modulator if you start running into interference as you drive.
Tip: The XM antenna also serves as the FM transmitter. If possible, place it close to your regular car antenna.

I own a Delphi SkiFi2 in my personal car and have purchased a Roady XT for my wife and sister-in-law.The quality of the RoadyXT is excellent! The ease of installation and features it provides the user make it a great bargain. The only critique I have is that I got used to the larger display offered on the Delphi SkiFi2 which makes browsing channels easier to do. Other than that, I'd recommend a RoadyXT to anyone looking for a cheap, good quality sat radio for the car and home.

Great improvement over the Roady 2 and it is amazingly lightweight. I bought the Roady XT after trying to get a home kit for the Roady 2, only to find out the A/C adapter in the Roady 2 home kit didn't want to power up/stay in the Roady 2 (after trying 2 different kits same thing). Certainly worth $99.Want Delphi XM Roady XT Satellite Radio Receiver Discount?
The Roady XT is a well needed update to the previous model because it seamlessly goes back and forth between satellite and conventional AM/FM settings with a simple push of your preset button. The antenna is strong enough that I have mine inside my car and I seem to be enjoying strong enough reception. You may want your antenna outside your car as prescribed by the owner's manual, but I was concerned that the antenna would be too easy to steal or simply vandalize, so based on my installer's recommendation I had my antenna placed on the upper right windshield, inside the car.The radio's interface is easy to use. You can scan, digitally enter desired station or use presets. The ticker feature is nice and easy to read. Also my professional installer (I recommend professional installation even though this is supposedly a "plug-and-play") said he has installed many satellite radios and he thought this one was the best he has seen.
Bear in mind all satellite radio is not a perfect technology. It's got great content but remember it's vulnerable to reception glitches in the same way that a cell phone is. Going under tunnels, bridges, for example; or driving up in the mountains or by the beach with lots of overhanging structures; even heavy cloud cover can compromise your signal. But even with its similar cell phone weaknesses, I think on balance satellite radio is a good buy, especially for long drives when you don't want to be faced with "cow pasture" radio stations.
In conclusion, the XM Roady XT, with its effortless transition between satellite and FM/AM radio, represents the best technology for this type of radio.
Post Script: Contrary to my installer's advice, the radio works better with the antenna mounted on the dash than it does in the upper right window.
Update 8/20/06: If I could do it over again, I'd only get satellite radio if it was pre-installed in the car because my installer, as a result of moving a car panel, has made a rattling sound in the side car panel, which he removed to put in the radio. Don't get one installed, only pre-installed.
Final Update on 12-15-07: I did not renew my XM subscription. As I said, the installation resulted in car rattles and vibration noise. The actual satellite sound was unacceptable: loud hissing, static, sometimes outright lack of reception, compromised fidelity even in best conditions. Living in LA, I have so many terrestial radio choices plus "radio" websites such as Pandora leave me with no desire for satellite radio. The sound quality and reception of my Roady XT using the built-in FM transmitter is tremendous at home as well as in my car using the car antenna on my dash and on my couch. It may have something to do with living in the San Jose area though. Pretty slick little radio. I am impressed. Good job Delphi!
