When I charge my phone it seems to charge fairly quickly :)(a twenty minute drive gives me half a battery charge).
I don't charge and listen to music simultaneously though unfortunately, because as I accelerate in my stick shift the faster I drive the louder a high pitch hum continuously sounds.
Overall I am really glad I purchased this and I would do so again if I needed to, as well as recommend the 2nd Generation Audio FM Transmitter plus integrated Car Charger for the Motorola Triumph with Gomadic TipExchange Technology. I've used it for months now without an issue.

Midland 75-822 40 Channel CB-Way Radio
- Portable CB radio with 40 CB channels, 10 NOAA channels, and 4 Watts of output power
- Power with six AA batteries or included cigarette lighter adapter for mobile use
- Instant access to NOAA Radio, channels 9 and 19; Dual Watch monitors channel 9 and additional channel
- ANL (automatic noise limiter) and squelch control for improving reception and eliminating noise
- One-year manufacturer's warranty
Its a pretty decent mobile unit too with the adapter. With an external antenna the range is tremendously improved. My only real complaint is that I wish that there was a way to lock the backlighting on when using the car adapter this would make it easier to use at night.

Works very well and a great value for the purchase price. The fact that this radio can be a handheld or a mobile radio and that it comes with a 12-volt cigarette lighter plug, a PL-259 external antenna connector, a portable antenna, a battery box for using six "AA' batteries, and an AC adapter made the system very versatile. The NOAA weather band capabilities only added to this versatility My only complaint is that the radio could use more volume output as it is sometimes hard to hear when used in a vehicle.Read Best Reviews of Midland 75-822 40 Channel CB-Way Radio Here
I purchased this CB radio at a local electronics store for $. It comes with an adapter to plug into your vehicle. The adapter also has a hookup for an external antenna. You can use the unit as a hand held with the battery packs. The radio comes with two battery holders. One for disposable batteries, another for rechargeable. The rechargeable battery holder has an AC adapter included. It comes with a steel belt clip. Though, be careful it can easily scratch your belt. The radio isn't very loud, even with the sound at max level. The only time I have any issues hearing it is when I have a window cracked. It does come with a jack for headphones or an external speaker. This Midland model also does not have an ANL (Automatic Noise Limiter), and does receive interference from time to time.
The range is to be expected for a hand held radio. Using it with the rubber antenna inside of your vehicle you can expect 1/4 3/4 mile range depending on the time of day and terrain. You get better range outside of your vehicle. Excellent for use on ATVs. If you plan to use this radio in your vehicle, it would be wise to purchase an antenna. I purchased a magnetic antenna for portability:
Want Midland 75-822 40 Channel CB-Way Radio Discount?
The Midland 75-822 is a neat little device, it comes with everything for both HT & mobile use except, a hand microphone, mobile antenna & batteries. External hand microphone, external antenna, & both rechargeable & alkaline cells are each purchased separately. Rechargeable & alkaline cell battery cases, plus cigar lighter power cable with an external antenna adapter are included (Type BNC & SO239/PL259 HF antenna connector) They really thought of almost everything in this package. The one drawback I found was the build was cheap. One of the screws came from the factory cross threaded into the bottom of the unit. The screw was crooked and caused difficulty, impairing the battery pack's ability to slide on and off the radio. There was evidence that the internal wires were pinched causing case/frame misalignment during assembly and when examined the internal frame was slightly bent. As a result someone had forced the screw into the slot and stripped all of the threads on both surfaces. The radio is still usable after clearing the pinched wires except the threads are damaged and the screw may come loose (only use & time will tell). I don't think I should have to repair a radio's defects brand new from the factory, and I feel it's just another example of the cheap, inferior quality of Chinese gear pouring across borders everywhere. Also want to state two (2) radios were purchased. Be aware when you purchase an inferior Chinese product, you might be stuck with the Status Quo. Amateur radio & GMRS/FRS gear is slightly more expensive in most cases but, in this case would have been a better purchase as it is engineered to higher quality standards. Decided to purchase two Yaesu HT's to replace them. These Midland radios are still as new in their boxes sitting on the shelf. They will likely play an emergency backup role to the new Yaesu radios. Caveat Emptor! (Let the Buyer Beware)The Midland 75-822 would have received 5 stars had they both been 100%. However, sometimes Chinese gear is sub standard so, in this case it receives 3 stars (because it's just ok under the circumstances). IF there is any change I will update this review appropriately.
I hope this saves somebody a headache (check the build very carefully prior to posting your review). I hope Midland and Amazon are listening.
Thank you for readingI purchased this item to use on trail runs that I do with other 4X4 owners. When standing outside the vehicle and using the hand held setup I got a range of about a mile and a half. The primary way that I use this radio is with a 3' FireStik mounted to a cross member on my roof rack. This set up puts the antenna right in the middle of the roof of my SUV and makes for a great ground plane. I then run 18' of coax along the roof rack, through the rear window and under the floor mats to the front of the cabin. I check the antenna tuning each time I set it up and I get over 5 miles range in mountainous terrain and over 10 miles in open country.
I like this radio because it fits my needs. I want to be able to take it down when I am not on the trails or traveling in remote areas, but I want it to be quick and easy to set up when I do want to use it. I am sure I can get better features and longer range with a permanent setup and a "big box" radio, but I am completely satisfied with this product. It is versatile and easy to use once you familiarize yourself with the controls and their locations.
Powerhouse PH3100Ri 3100 Watt 6.8 HP 4-Stroke Gas Powered Portable Inverter Generator With Remote St
Some pointers for set-up the manual says it requires a liter of oil and is shipped empty. A quart is a bit less than a liter, so I put that in and it overflowed. First time try a few tablespoons less than a quart. It is shipped with a fully charged battery, but that needs to be plugged in (no tools required). To change the oil, one is supposed to attach a drain pipe to the oil filler opening and tilt the generator. The drain pipe supplied is very cheap plastic. I will be replacing that with a brass pipe nipple from the hardware store.
If you want to power an RV with this, you will need a 30 amp adapter (or a 50 amp if you have two A/C units.)
Filling the gas tank from a 2.5 gallon plastic gas can was very messy. I had a universal electric fuel pump sitting around, so I set that up with some tubing, wiring, and a filter (and a small 12 volt battery) to pump the fuel in (with the filter screen removed). MUCH better.
Once having fueled and oiled it, it fired up promptly on electric start. Don't forget to turn the big yellow knob for fuel flow.
I have been breaking it in, running it to power my motorhome. The third night, it rained. I had covered the generator with a tarp, but it would not start until very late in the day, so the electronics may be sensitive to moisture.
If you want a cover for it, this one (small size) fits nicely and appears to be of good quality. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004FF1WNA/ref=oh_o03_s00_i00_details
A word to the wise, when storing it, remove all the fuel from the tank and run the generator until it dies to empty the carburetor. Old gas will varnish the carburetor, prevent it from running, and void the warranty.
BTW, the shipping packaging was heavy duty, top notch. This thing is a bit heavy and large for one person to pick up. Have someone there when it will be delivered to help get it off the delivery truck.
I will update this if there is anything of interest.I have had the generator now 2 years. My brother and I got it at the same time. Mine locked up on me when it had 6tenths of an hr on it. I called the warranty department and it was replaced with a USED one with 20 hrs on it. Not to big of a deal but I thought I should have gotten a new one. So I went to the spring race in Bristol 2011. I have a 13.5btu AC unit on my camper found out it would pop the breaker every time it kicked on. So for the fall race 2011 I put a heavy duty capacitor on the AC unit that fixed that problem. So at the fall race after the first tank of fuel the generator would not start.good thing I had nice people staying next to us the let us hook up to them. Took it in to have it fixed it took Tom Raper RV 2 months to fix it. Went camping and it worked fine. That brings me to today. We had a big wind storm yesterday and we lost power. The generator was very hard to start like at the race. I was able to get it started but not very reliable. My brothers has leaked oil from day one..... So I kind of feel bad because I talked him into getting it. So bottom line should have spent the money and got a Honda.......Very nice unit with a lot of features that the more expensive units don't have. I am very happy with its power and super nice remote control. I would definitely recommend it to my friends. Downside is that it is pretty heavy and wheels are small. I plan to buy and replace the wheels. That is why I gave it a four instead of five stars.I bought this generator in the wake of hurricane Sandy. I live in central NJ and have been without power for about a week. This generator has performed flawlessly thus far. I am very pleased with it and I would recommend it to anyone. It doesn't cost as much as a Honda, is more quiet, and the 3100 has the best fuel economy of the other Powerhouse generators. The remote start is a nice feature, but I do not use it. In short, if you're looking for a less expensive, but reliable generator, go with the Powerhouse.Hi bought this generator 2 power my travel trailer.used it 3days filled it with oil and started right up,love the remote start, has plenty of power,u will have to get a 3way adapter for the 30 amp conection, does not match the trailer, used 20 amp,did have enough power 2 run 13,500 ac unit by itself, remote works ex,did get adapter for 30 amp. did not use it,yet seems like a nice unit for the money ;no trouble so far, nice and Quit, compared to a Honda,It is better with remote for almost half price.

I can get this inverter to work in my cigarette lighter, just don't plug it in and turn it on without something (laptop, etc) hooked into the AC outlet and powered on.When this inverter turns on, unloaded, it draws a huge spike in current and will blow the fuse to your cigarette lighter immediately. Not fun when your radio runs on the same fuse!
I'm not happy at all with this product, but I bought it ages ago at a Lowe's and can no longer return it. Two stars because with proper technique it has purpose.

This inverter powered my MacBook Pro which draws 85 watts using the power plug in a box truck I rented. The plug tag and inverter label read up to 80 watts while the manual states up to 100 watts for the plug. The heavier gauge alligator clip cables are for higher wattage applications or you may blow your power port fuse. The alligator clips connect directly to the battery. If you permanently hardwire the inverter buy 6 gauge wire with a 50 amp fuse up to 6 feet long or 4 gauge wire over 6 feet. Both included cables are 3 feet (91 cm) long. Remember, Volts x Amps = Watts. The inverter draws 512 watts when output is 400 watts according to the label. Output is a stepped modified sine wave and NOT sinusoidal. When the inverter fan comes on it is noticeable like a radio between stations at moderate volume (took me some miles before figuring it was the inverter). The housing stayed cool at 85 watts.
When Black & Decker fixes their dead links the manual may be available at [..] (search for PI400AB). Lowes and Home Depot were [..]for this inverter.I have a solar panel with this inverter connected to one of my security lights. The best thing about this inverter is the thermal fan that only turns on when needed. Not many if any at this price range can do this. I don't know how much of a power load it will handle, other than the rated 400 watts, my sytem only requires 60 watts for the flourescent flood light. My duration of ownership is only 1 month now, so far so good.I was hoping to plug a laptop and a wireless hotspot. No luck, the laptop has never worked, always resulting in an error light when plugged in. Also does not autostart when the car turns on, so you have to remember to press the power button every time. Blah.

It arrived and when I unboxed it the fan and fan-guard were hanging loose. On two of the four screws were actually on the fan assembly.
The internal fasteners for the missing machine screws were loose inside the inverter. One machine screw lay loose in the box.
I had to take the unit apart and get the loose hard ware out and then finishing installing the fan.
Next I installed the inverter on a Optima deep cycle car battery with a High end battery maintainer. They fired up just fine and seems to work well.
I tested it with 350 full power pops with a Alienbee 800 and a 1600 at the same time. The inverter had no trouble keeping up and seemed to cycle the
lights as fast as the wall socket. Thew inverter does make a small buzzing sound when it charges the lights. Next I tested it with four lights at once and saw a small slow down in charge time.
So bottom line is the unit does work, but quality control is lacking. If i had to do it again I would buy a slightly more expensive unit like the sunforce or the Samlex units. So if the ten or twenty dollars you save with this unit is worth risking the sorry quality control issues to you then go for it.i was actually having second thoughts for this pure sine wave..i have a alienbees abr800 320ws ringflash.i was hoping to bring my big flash to werever i go not looking for some outlet that i can plug into..paired this with a yuasa 12vdc 17.2amp sealed battery which i also bought from amazon..was surprised by the performance its even better than my outlet's power in my house..when i plug my unit into the wall outlet,,it produced little hum on my ring flash..then when i plug it into this pure sine wave inverter the hum just isnt there to be heared!!! so i guess this power inverter is way cleaner than the power i get from the local electric company.tested it like firing test shot on my flash at 1sec. interval.i got tired and blinded by the full power of my flash..i am so happy with this purchase and now i can bring my big hunk of a flash werever i go without worrying about were to plug it and bring long extension cords!
also tested before those modified sine wave inverters,,they are a piece of junk! almost got my flash damaged because of the loud humming i hear on the flash internal electronics..and the refresh rate is slow and im not at full power yet..not on these pure sine wave inverter..power is clean,no humming noise and my flash can refresh at 1sec.interval..highly recommended!!!

For the money this inverter is a good bargain if you are on a limited budget. It's great to operate personal electronics, game consoles, laptops, desk top PC.You may very well be surprised by is performance. It provides a quality of power that is most likely cleaner than what one would get from the electric utility.
The one con of this budget unit is the AC hum that it makes. It can be a little annoying to some folks.I ordered this item in anticipation of Hurricane Sandy striking the north east. It turned out to be a very wise decision. We were without power for 14 days and the Power Bright APS600-12 Pure Sine Power Inverter worked flawlessly the entire time. I was able to run my pellet stove for heat, charge my cell phone and tablet, (my only connection to the outside world) and even ran my DVR and TV a few times to pass the time. The Power Bright APS600-12 Pure Sine Power Inverter fan makes a little noise but it's tolerable under the circumstances. I would recommend the Power Bright APS600-12 Pure Sine Power Inverter to any one who loses power frequently as we do here in Morris County NJ. My only regret is I didn't have 2 deep cycle batteries so I could use the Power Bright APS600-12 Pure Sine Power Inverter while I recharged the spare with my generator.

After returning a 1000 watt mini inverter because it couldn't manage to supply a 100 watt device, I decided to purchase this unit. It arrived in good condition but the silica packet broke open, leaving silica pellets throughout the contents of the box. I cleaned it up and installed the unit. First thing I did was plug in a Makita Die Grinder. The motor worked as if it was plugged directly into a house socket. I then tested it out on more sensitive electronics and to my surprise, this unit worked like a champ. The only issue is that it has a remote jack but there are no remote kits to use with it. Certain websites state that a panel switch could be used to turn it on and off from a remote location if it is mounted in the trunk or other out of view locations.. As an automotive electrical technician, I highly recommend that you DO NOT use a panel switch without using a Bosch relay. Panel switches cannot handle the current straight from the battery to this inverter. They will eventually burnout and cause damage to the inverter. You must use heavy gauge wire directly to the battery. Consider the installation kit if you don't have any heavy gauge wire.Thinner wire will not supply enough current for this inverter to run properly. It can definitely run most power tools, shavers, laptops, small refrigerators and anything else under 600 watts. Since a hair blower is 1000 watts, it would pose a risk. Buy a more powerful inverter if thats what you plan to use it for.Black & Decker PI500BB 500 Watt Power Inverter

A fully charged battery should be at least 12.78 volts.
Batteries below 12.5 volt usually need to be charged.

Swift Hitch SH01 Portable Wireless Camera System

- Mount, view, and hitch up
- It doesn't get any easier than using Swift Hitch
Yes, it's that fast.
The image quality is great. The display is very clear. You can even reverse the picture to correct for the "my left or the camera's left?" challenge. My only complaint is that there is a little static as you get farther away from the camera (or if the charge is low).
I bought this camera for a specific reason (not to avoid the hitching wars with my wife, because that's actually kind of fun--kind of). The spaces in my RV storage yard are very close together and I have a very bad blind spot on the curb-side of the trailer. This happens to be the side that swings wide when I pull out of my space. One time the rear corner of my trailer hit the mirror of the RV parked next to me. So I bought this camera in hopes of correcting that blind spot.
Although my awning arms are aluminium, there's just enough metal hardware for the camera's magnet to stick to. Then as I'm pulling out of my space (or backing in), I can see how close I'm getting to my neighbor's RV. The picture quality isn't great at that distance, but it's still good enough to help me avoid any more close calls.
I kind of doubt the claim of 300' range. Mine has never worked at even half that distance. I'm lucky to get a signal from the rear end of my 30' trailer, but I'm sure there's a big difference between unobstructed line of sight coverage and bouncing the signal around my trailer and over the bed of my truck (probably about 40'). Honestly though, there's slight signal loss just from sticking it on my tailgate ten feet away.
Anyway, I'm very happy with the product. It's not cheap, but it's a lot cheaper than buying another mirror for my neighbor's RV.

I too agree with the other positive reviews on this item, however, there is room for improvement. I needed it to hitch up my RV trailer and for backing up my trailer on the blind sides. The magnetic camera would not stick to my trailer's aluminum and fiber glass walls. I researched this unit on the net before buying it from another vendor on ebay. The reason being that my unit, same as the one here, came with a complimentary custom storage bag for the unit & all it's accessories, & a suction cup adaptor for the camera which sticks to any part of my trailer. The suction cup adaptor solved any location placement issues I had with the camera & worked great for my trailer.
The other issue is the charging of the camera & monitor. The unit only came with a 12 volt charger for your vehicle, no ac charger, & the unit requires to be fully charged before first use. It is not practical to drive around for hours charging your unit in your vehicle until it is charged. I solved that problem using a Wagan 5 Amp AC to 12V DC Power Adapter I had previously purchased on amazon for about $20. This way I can always charge the unit at home before any outing I need the unit for.
One other useful trick I discovered, which came in handy, is the video out cable the unit came with. The monitor's 2.5" screen is a bit small for backing the trailer on a the blind side next to my block wall I have nearly missed several times in the past. I simply hook the video out cable from the 2.5" monitor to my high resolution Sony 8" portable dvd player & instantly have an 8" screen to look at instead of the 2.5" mini screen. You can hook up the 2.5 monitor to a TV or any other monitor with a video plug in.

This is a great little unit. Color screen is clear and easy to see. And the instant night vision lets you see clearly at night. I like the magnetic base to mount the camera; you can place it about anywhere. The range surprised me; I have used the screen over 300 feet from the camera. This thing has more uses then just backup. I use it to monitor my horses in the trailer while driving down the road. And I have used it to keep an eye on cargo in the back of my truck. A++ worth the money.

I do like this camera and have used it once to hook up my small travel trailer. As others have mentioned, an improvement would be to have a wide angle camera view until you get closer to your target. I did find that sun glare and shadows affected my view. I quickly found one other handy use for it too: I can view the fill level on my water tank inside the camper when I'm filling up without having to stop and start constantly to go inside and check the water level.I use this for hooking up my camper, getting it out of the garage (tight squeeze less than 1/4" height clearance, so I have to keep a close eye on it), backing it into campsites, and backing it back into the garage. I've only used it for one trip, but I'm very happy with it. It's very convenient to be able to re-situate it for so many perspectives.I stick it on the tailgate to hitch up. Then I stick it on the garage door track to watch my height clearance as I'm pulling out. Then I stick it on the camper bumper at the campsite to get lined up perfectly when I'm backing in (I don't have wide mirrors).
When I get home I use it again to watch the height clearance. Then I stick it on my bench vise pointed at teh area where I want the rear bumper to end up.
Picture quality is excellent normally, starts to break up slighty when camera and receiver get about 30 feet apart.

Buy Rally 7542 12V Vehicle Battery and Alternator Tester Now
I bought this unit at a local store as a Christmas stocking suffer but was curious about using it. I placed it in the 12V port of my Toyota Rav4. I came back later and started the vehicle. In less than ten seconds there was smoke coming out of the port. I pulled the unit out as fast as possible. The very end of the tester was gone. Vaporized. This is the primary port in my vehicle and I use it often with many electronics and have never had any problems with this port. I wonder what may have happened if I had left the vehicle for even a moment. I definitely cannot recommend this product.
