Bought this carrying case and set of cables for Garmin 2460LMT. I wanted the case so I could put the Garmin in my carry on and not worry about scratching it. The case is ok although it's a tight fit and will probably not last. The cables don't fit the 2460LMT. Perhaps the cables will work with some of the other models listed. They're just the standard mini-USB so I'll just save them for other devices.

I bought this for my Garmin and it fits nice, I love the color. I also bought a black one for my husband and a pink one for my Mom.

Tire Minder 6 Tire Wireless Monitoring System with Booster

Tire Minder 6 Tire Wireless Monitoring System with Booster
  • The TireMinder Wireless Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) is engineered specifically for RVs and motorhomes to provide added safety while saving on gas!

Bought this over priced gadget, plus 4 additional sensors to prevent damage from a catastrophic tire failure on my 5th wheel trailer. Long story short, I had a tire failure and got no warning from this thing. The only thing I got was about $5,000 in damages from the tire tread, before it left the Wheel altogether. When I learned of the failure and found the wheel without the tire, I checked this thing's monitor, which not only did not Indicate a problem, but further gave me readings that the tire was still on the rim with 80.7 lbs of air within. The company did contact me and eventually convinced me that a signal booster was needed for my setup. I installed and signals do seem much better, but the need for this device, or it's placement, is not addressed in the manual. I'm very impressed with the way the company responded and worked with me on this thing, which causes me to raise the rating from one to three stars.

When they work, they work fine. If you have to remove one cap of the system it is hard to reprogram. Usually I have had to start all over. Programing could be set up easier

I just installed the TireMinder on my motorcoach and toad. Seems to be working great so far. One tire reading 3 lbs low and Tireminder alerted me of the problem. So far so good and I would order from this vender again.

I didn't like spending the money but I'll have to say it saved me twice on the road. Had a tire leak down twice before I found the problem. If it hadn't of warned me I probably would have run the tire flat and blew the one next to it. Great unit and easy to use. I had a friend get one and he loves it. Would recommend to anyone who wants to keep track of those tires when going down the road. Peace of mind is well worth the price.I even monitor my pickup I pull behind with my motorcycle in the bed. Did need the signal booster to monitor the pickup tires. Buy it, you'll like it.

Installed this on a 3 axle 5th wheel. The installation was easy and the system works exactly as I'd hoped. It is a great relief to know that if a tire goes flat I will know about it, since the tires are not visible from the truck whil driving.

Belkin Backup Battery Pack for iPod 3G

Belkin Backup Battery Pack for iPod 3G
  • Designed to work with Apple iPod portable music players
  • Provides 15 to 20 hours of additional battery life
  • Indicates charge levels with 4 LEDs, so you know when to replace batteries
  • Secure switch prevents accidental on/off powering
  • Includes 4 AA batteries and 2 extra suction cups

To the person who had two of these burn up on him...I had a similar experience. My iPod kept locking up with the battery pack plugged in, and the pack got HOT. I replaced the batteries, and suddenly everything was fine. I was curious so I put the original batteries (the ones that came in the package with the battery pack) in a battery tester and got some really strange results...the tester gauge started bouncing all over the scale! It seems that the included batteries are funky in the sense that they don't supply a steady source of power. My new batteries, in the same tester, move the gauge and it STAYS PUT, rock solid. I can see how an iPod with an unsteady power source would have problems. It seems fine now.

i'm an owner of a 3G/40gb ipod and the first thing i noticed immediately was that the battery leaves much to be desired. i would do a full charge at night and take my ipod out the next day...by the end of the day, after a few hours of use, it would be almost completely drained. it got really annoying. overall, the belkin battery backup is a nice product, but has it's pros/cons.

PROS

1) extended life powered by 4AA batteries. i can't quantify specifically how many hours i've gotten since i've had to recharge. but put it this way...i've been using my ipod for one week at the same frequency (which is just about every day) and have YET to recharge my batteries. i'm estimating around 15+ hours so far...btw, i bought rechargeable 2300mAh NiMH batteries, with a higher capacity, so that probably helps.

2) 4 point-power led indicator...nice to know when the battery is getting drained, even if i haven't had to recharge it yet anyways.

3) does not drain the ipod battery while plugged it...which i would probably have to send to apple for replacement before long with the success i was getting (which costs $100).

4) relatively cheaper than some other battery backups available on the market, particularly BTI's ipod battery kit, which costs $100 and is actually larger than the ipod itself. i got this product for $30.

CONS

1) BULKY. Obviously if you jog with your ipod (which you probably shouldn't do anyways), you'll probably get annoyed with the added mass. even my friends see it and comment on it. definitely not recommended for those who want to maintain ipod's portability. for me personally, i don't mind it as much.

2) can't use a case protector with the battery plugged in. the battery actually suctions to the back of the ipod. so you can't place a protective cover on the ipod. the only concern for me is the screen. ghetto solution: clear packaging tape!

3) cost. $30 + $20 for the rechargeable battery kit. but i need to use the batteries for other stuff too, so...

4) cannot use jointly with some ipod accessories such as altec lansing's inMotion portable speaker system...basically, anything that requires docking the ipod since the battery backup plugs into the same docking port on the bottom.

for those 3G owners that don't mind the added bulk and want extended playability (MUCH extended in some cases), i would definitely recommend this product. i can't speak for 4G owners, although i've heard mixed reviews regarding battery life from friends.

Overall, i'm happy with this product. sure, it would have been nice if they could have made it more sleek in design...but i really don't think they could have done a much better job considering you're adding FOUR AA batteries to your ipod. but hey, i'll take it over the increasing annoyance of having to recharge my ipod after every day of usage.

I don't usually write reviews, but there have been some negative reviews of this product and I felt the need to share!

I bought this unit because I'm backpacking across Europe and I wanted to go completely unplugged. But I still wanted to take my ipod! I saw this product and thought it would be a killer solution! And I was RIGHT!! This unit is AWESOME!! I use regular Energizer or Duracell batteries (throw away the ones that come with the unit! Don't even put them in they are always useless) and it has given me a SOLID 12-14 hours of playtime, if not a few hours more!!! The unit NEVER got Hot or emitted any kind of "burning" smell. I suspect that the people who had these problems did something wrong or got a bad unit it happens even with the best of products!

The unit does add some expected weight to the ipod. I mean you are adding a battery pack with 4 AA batteries, but it is more than a fair trade!! You can go anywhere and not have to worry about finding an outlet and/or adapters!! In my opinion, the small amount of extra weight is more than worth it and once you realize the benefits, you won't notice it! With the battery pack attached, your internal battery is not even touched!! So, you are also extending the life of your internal battery which means you don't have to have apple replace as quickly!!

All in all, I think this product is AWESOME and as long as you follow the instrucions, you will love it too! It is PERFECT for anyone who is going on long trips, flights, camping, backpacking anything that will take you away from an electrical outlet for an extended period of time!

I hope this helps and happy listening! Enjoy your tunes!

PS This will keep your ipod running even after your internal battery is completely dead. So, you can keep listening to your ipod until you are able to get it to apple to replace the battery!!

I'm a new proud owner of a 5g black iPod with video. A wonderful product with only one major flaw: not nearly enough juice for any lengthly video watching.

The Belkin Battery Pack nicely remedies this problem, providing some much needed longevity to the iPod's video function. I can now watch several movies and TV shows before I have to worry about the battery running out. Also nice is how neatly it integrates with the iPod itself, attaching itself to the back to become one seemless unit.

The reason I did not give this product a 5 is due to some minor flaws in its design. Firstly, it does not actually charge the iPod's own internal battery, but rather runs the iPod independantly. This isn't really a bad thing except for the fact that the energy is drained from the battery pack even when the iPod itself is turned off! If you forget to switch the battery pack off as well you'll wake up the next morning to drained batteries.

Also, the unit adds a bit of bulk to the iPod. It's nothing you can't eventually get used to, just be ready to learn how to hold your iPod differently when operating it with the battery pack attached. But overall I must say that the folks at Belkin have made the design of the battery pack about as efficient as they possibly could, all things considered.

For best performance use 2500 mAh NiMH rechargeable AA batteries. A decent set plus a charger will set you back roughly $20, but they will last longer than throwaway alkaline batteries, plus they can be recharged hundreds of times, saving you a ton of money in the long run. It's also more convenient to simply recharge the batteries in the battery pack rather than constantly run to the store for a fresh set.

This unit does not work with the 40GB iPod at all. After a while of using it with totally brand new fresh batteries, it just freezes up the iPod and causes a scratching sound. I have checked some online forums and others with 40 GB iPods and the Belkin Battery Pak have this same problem.

I have contacted Belkin with no response. I regret purchasing this unit totally. If you have a 40 GB iPod, take my advice and avoid this item unless they come out with some sort of fix.

CTEK 56-573 Comfort Connect Cig Socket

CTEK 56-573 Comfort Connect Cig Socket
  • Quick connect
  • Watertight
  • Charge your cell phone from your bike

As shipped, this allows you to plug a female cigarette lighter plug into a ctek-equipped electrical system using the o-ring weather sealed ctek snaplock connector. That's great, but you are still confined to the cigarette plug format.

You can cut the cig plug off and install what is known as an anderson connector on the end of the cord, change the fuse to whatever your wiring system can handle (10-20-30 A), and then use this as a high power interface since your ctek outlet is wired directly to your battery with high current cable (in my case #8 wire, 6 feet, directly to the battery) and it comes out on my dash next to the cruise control with the opposite polarity ctek connector.

In effect, this allows you to use a vehicle or battery in reverse, taking power out of the charger inlet. Your creativity is not burdened by the 10A wiring to the lighter socket in the vehicle.

Disappointed because my husband said the battery does not stay charged very long. Hopefully in a few weeks he will notice it being different. Bare-Tool Makita BTW251Z 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless 1/2-Inch Impact Wrench (Tool Only, No Batt

Bare-Tool Makita BTW251Z 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless 1/2-Inch Impact Wrench
  • Makita-built 4-pole variable speed motor provides superior fastening power with 170 ft./ lbs. of Max Torque, 0-2,100 RPM and 0-3,200 IPM
  • Compact, ergonomic design at 6-1/2 inches long; weighs only 3.7 lbs. for reduced operator fatigue
  • Features such as a built-in L.E.D. light that illuminates the work area, and a rugged tool belt clip
  • Makita LXT Lithium-Ion battery and Energy Star rated 30-Minute Rapid Optimum Charger produces 430% total lifetime work with 2.5X more cycles
  • 3-year warranty on tool

I don't know if I got a bad tool, but it was not very impressive at all. I also have a BTD144Z impact driver so I have something to compare it with. Side by side, the BTD144Z won by a landslide.

My BTD144Z only has 1,420 in.lbs (about 118 ft.lbs) of torque compared with this model BTW251Z which is supposed to deliver 170 ft.lbs. However, the BTW251Z would not easily remove my lugnuts which were freshly torqued to 80 ft.lbs, while my BTD144Z easily removed them. To do this test, I put a 1/4" to 1/2" adapter on my BTD144Z impact driver and then a 1/2 drive impact socket could be used on it. The BTW251Z will remove the lugnuts, but it takes about twice as long (or longer). I expected it to be the other way around where my BTD144Z should take longer because it has less torque ratings.

Next test I did was to see if the BTW251Z can remove lugnuts torqued to 150 ft.lbs (by the way, I always use my torque wrench to torque the lugnuts so I know exactly how tight they are). I didn't expect my BTD144Z to be able to do it because it only has 118 ft.lbs rating but the BTW251Z obviously should be able to do so. The results: the BTD144Z was STILL able to remove the 150 ft.lb torqued lugnut (that in itself was amazing given the said torque rating would make me assume it was not supposed to be able to handle it). The BTW251Z could also do it. The difference? The BTW251Z would have to hammer on the lugnut for a few seconds before the lugnut finally came off. My BTD144Z removed it maybe about half the time or better.

But again, I don't know if I simply got a defective tool and maybe others out there don't notice the same performance issue I found. I expected the BTW251Z to easily remove the nuts compared with my BTD144Z, but that just wasn't the case. The only thing I have to say is it's better to use an impact gun with the built-in 1/2 anvil rather than using the 1/4" to 1/2" adapter like I did on my BTD144Z because I can feel a lot more vibration on the BTD144Z as it pulls off the lugnuts. I don't think it's good for the tool's longevity. I will have to say, the BTW251Z has a more solid feel when removing lugnuts off as there is much less vibration, so I know the tool is better fit for such applications. Also, there is no complaints about the build quality as it feels and looks exceptional. However, I will probably stick to screws and lagbolts for the BTD144Z and find another solution for my lugnuts as this BTW251Z was no improvement to what I already have.

Buy Bare-Tool Makita BTW251Z 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless 1/2-Inch Impact Wrench (Tool Only, No Batt Now

Important note: a fresh battery makes a big difference!

I wanted to try out my new tool the moment it arrived, so I pulled the battery out of my hammer-drill, slapped it in and tried to remove a lug nut (that was tightened by Sears tire dept using air tools.) As it hammered for several seconds I thought what the hell?

Then I replaced the battery with one fresh off the charger, tried again and bam, it was off the lug and spinning freely faster than I could think about it. I went all the way around the car and effortlessly took 2 nuts off of each tire.

The moral to the story is, battery matters! Just because the tool will still turn doesn't mean you'll get max torque. If it has difficulty with a fastener, replace the battery, it could change things substantially.

As for side-by-side tests against lesser-rated Makita impact tools, those can be considered valid *only* if the same battery was used in both tools, otherwise there is no way to know whether an equal amount of power was provided for each tool.

In short, this is a very impressive tool, it's small and light enough to use in a lot of places, and every bit as powerful as Makita claims, with a fresh battery.

I am extremely happy with this impact wrench. I searched for a while to find an impact wrench that is reliable and quality product and at the same time provides enough power to loosen the lug nuts. Most of the impact wrenches I found in the market are too heavy and run out of battery very quickly. However, this one holds the battery for a long time. Unlike most of Impact wrenches which are made in China, this impact wrench was made in JAPAN.

A little too noisy, but practical. The new Li Ion battery is interchangeable with other Makita tools I own. Big advantage!

Go Power! GP-SW150-12 150-Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter

Go Power! GP-SW150-12 150-Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter
  • 150 watt continuous pure sine wave inverter 12 volt input
  • 260 watt surge
  • 2 AC outlets to plug into
  • Over voltage, under voltage and overload protections
  • 2 Year warranty

Pros: This is a very good looking inverter! I really like the sleek design and clean look. Has a pretty decent manual too. I like that the 12-volt accessory port plug (like you'd plug into the cigarette lighter outlet in your car) and wires are attached. The sine wave is PURE as measured by my instruments. (I also read a frequency of 59.9hz which my same instruments also read my commercial power at.)

Cons: This thing can't handle a load! Using a 12 volt, 35 amp hour battery pack, I hooked a 75 watt load up to it. I had a Kill-A-Watt plugged into the back of the inverter and had the load plugged into the Kill-A-Watt. The voltage level with no load attached and with using a fully charged battery pack (battery pack voltage level 13.21v DC), the Kill-A-Watt showed the inverter's output voltage to be fluctuating between 113.3v and 113.8v AC. When a 15 watt load was attached, the output voltage dropped to 112.5v AC. Bumping the load up a little caused more drop:

Load in watts with its respective Go Power! inverter voltage

0w 113.3v AC

5w 112.8v AC

15w 112.5v AC

24w 112.0v AC

43w 111.1v AC

73w < 104.0v AC (attached devices powered themselves off due to low voltage)

Is my Go Power! defective?

Additional con is the location of the on/off/remote switch. There are two AC outlets on the back of the unit. They are on the Go Power sideways! The power switch is located to the immediate right of the outlet on the right. If your plug is a bigger than the outlet, you cannot turn the switch on or off. You will have to use an extension cord. (An extension cord was NOT used in my test as I was able to plug the Kill-A-Watt into the outlet on the left side -which covered most of the right-side outlet too.)

I replaced the Go Power inverter with a Xantrex XPower pocket inverter (175 watt with a modified sine wave). Using the same battery pack, I was able to run the same load for over 5 hours! The voltage stayed between 114.0v and 116.6v the entire time the load was applied. The Xantrex was only a fraction of the cost of this Go Power inverter.

I intend to return this Go Power inverter and will try a different brand for my pure sine wave inverter needs.

This company makes a great product. We have it running in fairly harsh conditions, protected in a NEMA cabinet. It runs an irrigation controller (as part of a solar setup), that is too far from any power source to run power from the grid. Of course, it is one component in the system, several other items are also needed, so do your homework regarding load, protection, etc.

I bought this inverter over a year ago to run my laptop in my truck. I do a lot of traveling and I am on the local ferry quite a bit. I like to watch movies on my laptop and do not want to kill the battery. I have used the Go Power! inverter for hours on end without an issue off of my car battery without issue. I also use this inverter when camping. I just hook it up to my cigarette lighter in my RV and it can run my LCD TV with built in DVD player and I also run my BOSE ipod dock seperatly. I have run the BOSE player for 3 days (about 8 hours a day) straight off of the inverter and not once did I have an issue. This has been a very reliable inverter and I do recomend it to anyone that needs pure sine power for sensitive loads such as laptops tv's or stereo systems. I had used modified sine wave inverters in the past because they are so cheap, but they had static on my stereo and really heated up the cord on my laptop.

Want Go Power! GP-SW150-12 150-Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter Discount?

Bought this for a 143watt application based of the specifications of the device I was using and worked for a while until it kept overloading. Would have to turn it off, reset, and try again but same result. Buy only if your application is definitely under 150watts. Mine did not come with a cigarette lighter plug just soldered 10 gauge wire ends that hook up to the inverter via anderson power connectors, so be prepared when planning for your own situation. Also it is quite large and heavy for a 150watt inverter, though it is remarkably quite. Most of the cheaper modified sine wave inverter are incredibly noisy and always on. This one only came on under heavy loads.

Family uses it on long trips in the minivan running the laptop and other stuff. I even used it during a blackout for lights in the house. Came in handy.

Motorcycle Charger Plug for BMW

Motorcycle Charger Plug for BMWWorks exactly as I expected. I also use this with a Battery Tender 081-0148-25 25' Quick Disconnect Extension Cable and the connectors don't seem to seat completely (~1/16 inch or so of one side doesn't quite close, but certainly is secure). I believe this is mostly due to extension cord connectors, not this plug unit or charger connector. Charger is the BatteryMINDer Battery Charger / Maintainer with Desulphator 12 Volt 2/4/8 Amp, Model# 12248. The combination works perfectly except for the minor issue with closure of the connector.

Great compliment to the battery tender. Don't have to expose the battery terminals. This, along with the tender, is one of the most practical purchases I made for the bike.

I found a battery charger at a great price at, of all places, Wal-Mart! And the best part, it was only $20! What it lacked was the plug that allows for a quick connection to my 1995 BMW R1100R so I found this and it works perfectly! It arrived well ahead of schedule, and was in pristine condition brand new and it works as promised; a perfect fit with my "cheap" battery charger. The price was right, and when added to the cost of my charger was still well below the cheapest battery charger available on-line or in a store. Great product!
