Test a variety of battery types.
Long lead, Some times too long to carry out systems test when battery in the rear etc.
Diode ripple test reasonably accurate.
This is our second one, the first one lasted 2.5 years.
Our usage is at least 5+ batteries tests daily 5 days a week.

I have only had a chance yo use it once. Had another garage test battery and said it was bad. Used my tester and said battery was ok. Let it sit overnight and next day tested again then it said was bad.Need to use it a little more to see dependability. Other features seem to work well.

I needed a tester that could handle several types of batteries and a charging system. I have 9 batteries I need to keep tabs on. I can't give an indepth analyses of the machine but it has given me the results I need. I recently had two problem batteries. I use this on the weekends I don't drive my Mini Cooper which has a battery in the trunk, however I use the connections from the front engine compartment and run the wire through the hood scoop. I recommend it highly.Based on reviews of product I thought this would be a great find. I was REALLY disappointed. Product seemed cheaply made. Tried to recharge two different ENEL3e batteries and neither would take a charge after leaving them plugged in for over 3 hours. I've been using Nikon batteries and charger for over 6years and never had any difficulty with Nikon battery chargers.
I was also disappointed in supplier SF Planet. I requested 1 day shipping and product was sent in soft Priority Mail envelope (rather than a box) which resulted in external product packaging being deformed. Supplier finally sent me return authorization but not after first suggesting an exchange and then asking me to describe what did't work?? After having paid for expedited shipping I chose not to pay to return product--it goes in trash.
Based on the other reviews of this product, perhaps I just got a lemon but based on my personal experience I would not recommend this product or make any future purchases from SF Planet.Everything works great it was a good product!!! The pricing was outstanding and worked perfectly with my Nikon D70 camera batteryI had to buy this after i lost the american adapter for my other charger. We recently bout a bunch of these for use at our farm, but while they work better than the $20 radios we've been using they are not capable of getting all the way across the 40 acre plot when any obstruction is in the way. I have had this item for about 6 weeks. Haven't used to a lot, but so far I like it. This power inverter is smaller and looks nicer than my old one, which was stolen out of my car along with a few other things.It has one electrical outlet, and above that is a cigarette lighter outlet, so if you have other devices that need that kind outlet you can use them while this power inverter is plugged in.
The plug fits kind of loosely in my cigarette lighter outlet, but I don't know if that's the plug or the outlet on my car.
The only thing I don't like about this item is the "no tangle" cord. Its one of those coiled up cords, like a telephone cord (look at the picture of the item). The cord is long enough that it could stretch to the backseat, but if I were to try this it would pull the plug out of the outlet. Its coiled so tight that I couldn't really put it anywhere that would require the coil to be stretched. It just annoys me that they call it a 36" cord. For practical use not more than probably 18", but I don't have the item right in front of me to measure it.
I'll still give this item 5 stars. 4.5 if Amazon allowed 1/2 stars.

The first and only time I tried using this for a legitimate need was when I plugged in my laptop to it. It started a long, continuous, high-pitched signal and flashing a light. What does that mean? I stopped using it immediately, since it probably couldn't mean something good. Was it drawing too much from it? There are no instructions to tell you what this means. I tried going to the web site for insight on this, but just got the same info as what was on the package. No help. Nice concept, now only if it worked. I am very disappointed with this product. It looks like it is solidly built and provides an expectation of long life, but internal components and circuit seem to be weak. I bought it many months ago, but only got the opportunity to use it recently on a road trip and it just died within a few hours of using it. We may have overloaded it, but I would expect such devices to trip or give a audible warning or some other means of warning instead of just dying. What a waste!I see that other people are having a good luck with this product (going by the review rating), but I wouldn't recommend it to my friends/family.

Borrowed my daughter's to test it out before buying one for myself. Plugged my Compaq R4000 notebook in and got about 10 minutes worth of computing done before the inverter's yellow light started blinking and the "shut me down" alarm started chirping. I use these when going jet skiing with my girlfriend. We had a pair of Motorolla radios but they broke within two uses. These are easy to set up and select a unique channel. I tested them on land and they had a out of sight distance of almost 2 miles. They started breaking up after that. Two improvements I would suggest is 1) a better belt clip. It doesn't secure very tightly to a ski vest. 2) a larger transmit button on the side. You have to look to find it when you want to speak. The price was less than the Motorollas as well.UPDATE: They are NOT waterproof! They went underwater about 6 inches for about 5 seconds and were done. Water inside. I looked up the waterproof rating and it is only good for light rain. Don't buy these if you are planning on using them around water. I went back to the Motorolla radios which ARE waterproof.

Bought 4 of these for a Grand Canyon river trip. They are pretty user friendly to set up. The range is not all that great 1-2 miles, but that is about what you get from this power of radio. I had expected them to be water resistant, but they are not. They lasted about day or two of splashing water before all 4 were dead. The specs claim j1s4 waterproof standard, but couldn't find any reference on the web to what that means.If you expect to use this product around water, I would look else where.

Panic set in, but I caught site of this at an airport store. It worked perfectly. It doesn't lock onto the iPod so you can't wave your Pod around -the battery will go flying. It worked well in my headphone case.
They claim 8 hours of life. Based on the size and heft I suspect it's a LiOn battery internally. I think they have a very good shelf life, so one of these will probably see you through a few separate crises. I'm carrying one in my luggage from now on, and I'll put this on my cart for my next Amazon order.
