This product has been useful for my Galaxy S2. I get to play my music in my car and charge my phone. I don't have any issues with the sound of the music. However, you cannot charge your phone and listen to your music without a high pitch tone occurring that only gets louder if you try and turn the music up. Although, you can be charging one phone while listening to music from a different phone, which works for my family since we all have Samsung phones that fit to the adapter; there is only an issue when you are trying to charge and listen to music from the same phone. Things I would like to see improved is a station scan for available stations; you have to go through each station individually, which is okay when I'm in my local area but not when I am traveling and don't know the stations. Other than that, I am happy with my purchase.

I drive an old car and I commute a long distance to work so I listen to a LOT of audiobooks on first an iPod and now a galaxy 2S. I have become a connoisseur of transmitters of all sorts. This is not a good one. The audio was terrible, very scratchy and distorted. If I held it a certain way it wasn't too bad but that is completely not workable for a car that bumps down the road. I don't want to have an accident from messing with my transmitter. I've had really cheap $5 models that were more clear. Customer service tried very hard to keep me from returning it but finally relented. That bothered me also. That sort of tactic makes me think their business model is based on selling cheap stuff that people won't bother to return and demand refunds. Having left the Century battery charger I have had for over 15 years out in the rain, I bought the Schumacher SE-82-6 manual charger as a replacement. (I like the manual versions, as they will charge your battery when completely "dead" when automatic ones won't.) Wanting to get the lawnmower battery charged (for the first time this season) as quickly as possible before the grass got any taller, I yanked the charger out of the box and hooked it up, setting it to 6 amps. However, when I looked at the gauges on the front of the charger, I was confused. My old charger had a needle which went from a light colored yellow at the bottom of the gauge when the battery was fully depleted, and all the way to the top for a full charge, indicated by dark red. This scale had the familiar yellow-to-red scale, but had two different columns of numbers ranging from 0 to 100 CHARGE on one side and 8 to 0 on the other. As there is no LED light on this model to let you know if it's still charging (or even if it is on), you can seriously damage your battery if you don't unplug it (there's no on/off switch) when it's charged, so I went back and read the instructions to see what this gauge meant. (I had only glanced at them before, but figured "How complicated can it be? It's a battery charger!") Unfortunately, in an effort to save money, Schumacher has crammed about 6 different models in one instruction book, with no diagrams or separation between different models, so you have to figure out if this feature or that pertains to the model you have. Then when you finally do find the right section, it is still not clear. So I called the help line, which was not much fun either. They said they are in the process of changing the instruction booklet, so future buyers may not have this problem.

To save everyone else that experience, I am going to give the brief version of how the gauge works:

When the needle is at the TOP of the scale (red for 6 amp charging mode), the battery is LOW (or dead); when at the BOTTOM of the scale (light yellow) it is CHARGED. For the 2 amp charging mode, there is a "mini" scale, indicated by a line drawn across the gauge. When charging in the 2 amp mode, the needle will be near the top of that line (orange) and when fully charged, at the bottom (yellow).

As this is the first time I used this charger, obviously I can't speak to its durability. They definitely need to improve the instructions, which they are working on. I do wish they used copper clamps instead of pot metal, but few inexpensive chargers these days have them; in any case, they are easily changed to better clamps if desired. The gauge is confusing, (actually completely the opposite of my old charger!), however, once you know how to read it, (UP/RED is low, DOWN/YELLOW is charged) you can live with that. With this in mind, for a manual battery charger that works quickly, if it holds up over time as others have said, it's a decent buy. Oh, and don't leave it out in the rain....

I bought an SE-82-6 about 15 years ago. I long since lost the manual and went online to find one, knowing that I probably would be unsuccessful...after all it was a 15 year old product. I was surprised to see they're still on the market, but really it's no surprise. Mine differs only from the dial background, from what I can tell. The point is I have used this regularly for ages, keep it stored in a dusty area, have gotten it wet, and have dropped it many times, yet I'm charging a mower battery with it as we speak. Maybe this is a special case, but 15+ years on a charger that I have, uh, not exactly taken good care of is outstanding.

Darn, my riding mower wouldn't start last week, just as the grass was ready for the year's first mow. I am a single 47 year old woman who knows zilch about machinery. Since the mower wasn't making a peep when I turned the key, I went with "battery is dead". Every month over the winter I started the mower up and ran it for 5 minutes, but guess this last April freeze finally zapped it. I researched chargers and this one sounded the best for the money. Paid for it on 4/10, used supersaver shipping and got it on 4/13! My Troy-Bilt manual says to use a 12-volt charger on 6 amps for one hour. The Schumacher manual says to use this on 2 amps for 3-8 hours for riding mowers, but I went ahead and set it for 6 amps. When I plugged it in, the ammeter (never heard of that word before, but the manual told me the meter was called that) read 3 amps, which supposedly meant the battery was fully charged. Doh!!! But I went ahead and charged it for 1 hour and, Eureka, the mower started up just fine. This charger is so easy to use. I ran an extension cord out to my shed, clipped the red clip to the positive terminal, the black clip to the unpainted rear end of tractor, put the power plug in the extension cord and waited one hour. Can't beat that for simplicity. (I finally noticed I could flip the mower seat up out of the way of the top of the battery that's how much of a novice I am.)

Was online looking for directions for my se82-6 schumucker charger and noticed they still sell these. I bought my over 23 years ago and its still working. Its kept in an unheated garage and has charged many a car, motorcycle, boat, or lawn tractor battery over the years. Its not as pretty as the newer ones but still does the job. Would offer a suggestion and apply some light grease to the connection ends as they have a tendency to oxidize and need a little emery cloth if the charger "sits" for any length of time.

Cellet Y Socket Extension (Silver)

I bought this product for my Ford Focus, because the car had only one 12V socket. I had my iPod and GPS, so I needed a splitter. I bought this product and it worked for about two months. It then began loosing the connection as it would slightly slide out of the 12V socket and disconnect. I took the unit apart to see what was wrong and it is a terrible design. The inside is cheaply made and not designed to last. The spring that allows the end plug to touch the outlet broke off and the would not allow a connection. I repaired the unit, but it broke again shortly their after. It is now not repairable and I am going to buy a differnt product. This product looks nice but is a waste of money. Get another splitter for your car.

Sockets are very loose. I have a goose neck FM transmitter to hold my I-phone. Phone kept on falling, screen has a scratch now.

I drive an automatic '09 Toyota Matrix and the car may be the actual problem, but this adapter doesn't work in this car. The console and emergency brake handle are too crowded for a "straight run" or a simple upward tilt. I frequently lost power and had to hold pressure on the adapter in order for it to make proper contact. I bought a pig tail type adapter and it works fine.

Mazda MIATA Battery

I have a 92 Miata and the old Westco died after only 4 years of service. Since this battery is so much cheaper than Westco's now $133 pricetag for something that's made overseas, I figure I'd get this item which is reported to be the same exact unit as the old Westco made by EastPenn Deka with the exact same dimensions. Since mine was the first generation Miata with round vent tubes, the venting outlets should also fit perfectly.

I ordered the item straight from BatteryMart, which uses Google checkout. They also shipped out the package the same day they received my order in the morning. As I need the battery to start my car, it was much appreciated.

However, UPS delivery had a problem since the address was missing my apartment number. I called Batterymart since I was sure I entered the apartment number in the original order (shown in email confirmation), batterymart rep claimed that I would have to pay a $10 fee to correct this error, which I found outrageous (regardless of whose error, since it's really just a simple call to UPS to change the information).

After explaining and verifying that it was something amiss between Batterymart and Google Checkout that they used, the manager was able to "waive" the address-change fee. A bit cynical, I asked for a discount, which the manager named Anthony was nicely able to get (probably through Google) a day later by waiving my shipping charge.

Then the package finally arrived, even though it was delivered to the wrong building (again fault of UPS). The carton looked worryingly small, barely bigger than the battery. Opening it, the suspected problem unraveled: The package was padded by 1/2" of spacer at the top and two longer sides (not four), but the bottom was only padded by a single layer of thin corrugated board with a few crushed shipping foam peanuts. Two corners of the battery was thus damaged, obviously pushed in with creases in the plastic and outer box.

I called UPS to file a damage report, but also contacted BatteryMart via email. I think the damage is as much attributable to UPS as it may be to the woefully inadequate packaging. The battery had been tested to have the proper voltage and appeared functional, though I was not sure if these damages would have repercussions in the long term. I will update if I get a follow-up from the vendor (or not) on replacements or compensation.

Also notable is that the top of the battery doesn't really look like the one in the Amazon photo, which looks exactly the same as the old Deka/Westco battery. The one I received has a slightly different design, arguably looks a bit cheaper with plastic layers instead of an entire block with grooves as the hold-down bar guides; although it's a minor quibble. I also cannot verify from any of the markings that it is indeed made by East Penn (except the shared 81MU1R model number which is also shared with an Autozone wet cell miata battery among others, telling nothing of its true origins).

Nonetheless, it is an AGM as there are no watery slushing noises, or this sort of damage with the package obviously been rolled around would probably have caused a leak already. The hold down clamp in the Miata also fits perfectly over the plastic top pieces. The battery is the exact same size as the old Westco, fitting nicely into the battery tray as well, with some room left over (as Westco is a bit smaller than the original Panasonic AGMs).

I have searched various sources for the proper AGM battery, and most are either much more expensive, or have been replaced by Wet-cell types that are serviceable yet undesirable due to Miata's peculiar battery location in the trunk. It's a pity that if not for the damages, I would have declared this my new source of replacement Miata batteries.

Batterymart responded to my email, less than a day after I dispatched my request. A product specialist named Brad kindly offered to ship me a replacement at no cost, and noted that UPS will probably pick up the damaged package. He also instructed the shipping department to pay extra attention to packaging to avoid damages. I also received a UPS shipment notification, suggesting the package is going out today.

Initially I almost did not expect a reply, much less a positive one, due to the aggressive pricing of the battery itself and that "$10 address-change surcharge" incident. Therefore this level of painless customer service had taken me a bit by surprise. I hope this wraps up nicely, and will update once the replacement arrives.

The replacement battery arrived today. The package is almost 3 times as big as the original that got damaged, suggesting ample padding material. Opening it up, I had to chuckle: the battery was packed to make a point! There was at least 2" of thick corrugated boards protecting the top and bottom, and between 3" and 4" of similar padding by the four sides (see photo). I imagine even the most anal-retentive (e.g. yours truly) would be put at ease with this kind of packing. It would probably survive a drop from a UPS truck while moving!

Needless to say, the battery arrived in perfect condition and tested to be in expected working order. The customer service at Batterymart proved to be responsive and thorough, and promptly righted what could be a messy problem. It's probably a quality most valued from any online vendor, and I appreciated it.

Bought this to replace a 7 year old Mazda battery in my 96 Miata. Battery was the same size and poles are correct. The only minor issue is the Battery vents are round and smaller than the Mazda battery. I had to cut the square ends off of the vent hoses and they fit into the round holes on the Marathon replacement battery. Other than that was a quick replacement and has been working well.

According to a number of threads on Miata.net, as well as manufacturer data on other sites, the Marathon MAR-8AM-U1R battery is in fact an Absorption Glass Mat (AGM) battery, NOT a lead-acid type as stated in the description here on Amazon. This also appears to be the same unit sold elsewhere under the Deka brand name, item number 8AMU1R. In any case you can buy with confidence, this is the right battery for your Miata.

BatteryMart replacement battery (made by Marathon Batery) was easy to install and took only about 10 minutes.

I cut the original two "rubber" vent tubes at the top of the round tubing where it met the rectangular section which fitted over the rectangular battery vent (I was replacing a Jhonson Control's battery).

The new battery (Marathon) had circular vent holes so the round "rubber" tubes fit perfectly over the battery's vents.

The new battery had the same terminal orientation as the old battery so the cables fit perfectly.

So for $101.95 (including shipping) and 10 minutes installation timeI was very satified with this purchase. The local Miata dealer had quoted me almost $200.00 for replacing the battery on my Miata.

This battery is a great sub for the Gen 1 (Classic) Prius battery.

It costs less, has vents required for trunk mount and is jell cell.

Length and width are the same, height needs to be shimmed 2 inches.

I used pieces of pressure treated wood pickets for that.

The battery terminals need to be changed to standard auto terminals.

I purchased this panel (as well as a controller, 12V battery, and accessory plug) for recharging electronics during extended kayak trips. I haven't taken it on a long trip so far, but did test it for several hours in my shady back yard. Even lying flat (as it will be on the kayak) in a relatively shady area, it still provided plenty of charge for my devices. The smaller dimensions make it easy to secure with bungees on deck or stow when not in use. I'll probably add a bead of silicone around all of the exposed joints for peace of mind, but otherwise the panel is exactly what I needed. It provided me with a very cost-effective way to keep everything charged out on the water.

I am no expert and I am also technologically impaired, overall it's pretty good with one exception. The voice command gets kinda garbled and doesn't recorgnize what you are saying sometimes. I bought this tester because a client with several boat batteries needed their failure definitively documented for a warranty claim.

The literature claims the tester will operate with as little as 1 VDC, and there is no need to charge the batteries before testing. When I arrived on the client's boat, the batteries were at 11.85-12.00 V, which should be plenty to test the batteries. Not so. The 3184 responded with "Charge & Retest".

After charging to "Float" with the multistage charger, the batteries were at 12.33-12.46 V (low for fully charged batteries). The 3184 responded with "Good Battery" for each battery, based on the CCA being close to the factory rated value. The only problem is that the batteries are NOT good. They are rated for 198 Amp-hours each, but can only supply about 10% of that before the voltage drops to a useless level (11.7 V).

After much deliberation with OTC tech support, it turns out that the 3184 tester is not capable of testing all lead-acid battery types. My client has AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) batteries, and the 3184 gives erroneous results. There is no mention of this shortcoming in any of the (minimal) literature supplied with the tester, or in OTC's description of the tester on their web site. I actually found the problem in the online OTC catalog on a "compare features" page while waiting on hold, and the OTC tech support people were not even aware of it.

Thankfully, Amazon will accept my return. I am upgrading to the OTC 3167 tester, which claims to be able to test "All" 6-12 V lead-acid batteries, including AGM. Still waiting for delivery.

Since not much can be found online about this product I hope to shed some light on this tester.

The OTC 3184 is a conductance battery tester and not a load tester. This technology now seems to be the preferred method of testing the condition of automotive batteries.

Testing a battery on the bench is done by simply selecting the battery rating with the tester and then allowing the tester to run its cycle. The tester will display the batteries voltage, if it is good or bad, and capacity in CCA, a very nice feature.

Charging and starting tests are very simple. The starting test records the lowest voltage from the battery while cranking the engine. The charging tests measure alternator output while at idle, 2000 rpm and 1000 rpm with varying loads turned on or off (headlights, heater, etc). There is also a test for alternator ripple voltage, this is the test that can really save you a lot of headache.

Test results are very repeatable and seem in line with load testing results.

I think the menu system could be a little better, but that's my only complaint.

Overall, a very nice tester to have in your toolbox.

I purchased for work. I maintain diesels that have four batteries each, 12 volts each. It works on 24 volt, but our batteries are 1500 amps each. It has trouble reading the cranking amps of both batteries at the same time. I just remove the jumper between the two and test each one individually. I do wish it tested amp hour rated batteries. It only does CCA and similar.

I love those cheapo stuff Amazon sells, like those USB hubs with SD card reader selling for less than $5.00, a bluetooth USB adapter for less than $3.00 and so on. Most of my purchases of those cheapo stuff from Amazon work fine, but often durability may be an issue, or you don't know what kind of material manufacturers of those cheapo stuff used (they could be super toxic, who knows? Most of them have no valid labels.), or have no idea where to go to get some (or any at all) support.

I bought this iPod charger, not because I needed it, but because the price was so low, I just had to have it. Of course, the shipping was so much more expensive than the actual item. When I received the unit, it was in a clear plastic bag with white label with nothing on it. I opened the bag and plugged it in, and connected my iPod Classic (6G) to this charger. The charger itself was lighting up the red LED inside the white charger casing, making the whole unit looking pink, but nothing was happening to my iPod. I pushed the connector up a bit and for a moment my iPod went into charging mode (the battery icon with a little bolt icon) but as soon as I set the iPod down on the table, the charging icon would go away. I tried a few times, with different iPods that I have, but none of them really worked. There was either jittery connection or no connection at all. Oh well, my two dollars down the drain, and I should have learned the lesson by now... but I never do! These cheapo stuff has such a weird allure to me, and I just keep spending my money on them.

I sometimes laugh when I read other people's review for this type of cheapo stuff that doesn't work. A lot of people get genuinely upset for an item they paid the bottom price for. So, my conclusion is that this charger probably would work if the connector is making a good connection to the iPod's connection plug, but obviously with my copy at least, that is not happening. (I don't want to give these people who's selling these items a bad rap and I have no doubt that these chargers work fine when they do, but I am sure I just got a lemon.) So if you are enticed by the price of this piece, think of it as a gamble. You may get the one that is working perfectly from the start (other cheapo stuff worked for me well), or like mine, not quite working. You can go through the painful procedure of RMA and returning and all that, or save yourself and spend at least $10 for a decent charger (well, maybe $20 to get a real "decent" one). Heck, Apple is charging people $20 for their iPod to USB cable alone... So this charger is a huge huge bargain. Just don't expect this less-than-two-dollar item to be just as good as $20 charger... (You don't expect a 99cent-store screwdriver to last a lifetime, do you?) So there, from my experience, I am giving two stars...

First of all. I gave it one star due to the awesome fast shipping. Now as far as the product goes, I bought it for my ipod 80Gig classic, plugged it in and NOTHING! It looks nice though (big deal). Really the only upside is that I am only out $3.81. I noticed on the invoice that it said iphone 3G charger however, when the box arrived it did in fact say ipod. Either way, it does not work. Trust me! This thing does not charge ipod classics. Spend the extra money and buy a charger that you know will work. I would recomend buying from the same carrier because this is the only problem I have ever had with them. NOTE: I found out that if it charges iphones, it will not charge the ipod classic.

This product was advertised on the bargaincell web site, and listed on my invoice as an Apple iPod Classic Travel Charger/Wall Charger. It was not! This fact only came to light when I charged my husband's iPod while on vacation. Consequently a $250 device was destroyed because of this falsely advertised bogus $4. charger. I now feel fortunate to have only lost one iPod. Luckily mine didn't need charging. The company did not respond to my inquiry email before purchase nor my complaint email afterward. I'd rate this product a zero, but apparently at least a one star rating is required for submission.

A lot of people appear to have had no problems with this product, but they also don't seem to be using it on the new iPhone 4 or 4s, so maybe it just screws up with the newer models.... My only complaint with this product is that when you use the USB cord it causes glitches in your phone, you can't click on anything because when you do it goes to something completely different, or zooms in or out, or something else whacky like that. It's just the USB cable though, as soon as you unplug your phone it goes back to normal with zero glitches. If you plug a normal white Apple USB cable into either the wall unit or car charger it works just fine, no glitches whatsoever. All in all still a decent buy for the price, I would've liked to have a cute matching wall jack and cord for my room, but its ok.

The pink cable was a PAIN to put in my iPhone (iPhone 4) I had to apply a lot of pressure. After I FINALLY got the pink cable in my phone I plugged it in my computer & my computer couldn't recognize my phone! I tried the wall charger with the pink cable and it didn't work, but when I tried the wall charger with the normal white cable (the one that come with my phone) it worked! Bleh, I'm not even going to try the car charger.

I wouldn't recommend.

Bottom line, unacceptable for me, although it might possibly work in your car. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and I drive a Mercedes E class. I also tried this unit in a friend's Nissan Sentra with identical results to those reported here.

This unit is, in essence, a tiny FM radio station that uses the connecting wire for the unit as the FM transmission antenna. In theory, this mini station transmits from inside your car to your car's FM antenna where the signal is picked up and listened to on your car's radio like any other radio station. This unit allows you to transmit on the frequencies 88.1 MHz through 88.7 MHz inclusive and 107.1 MHz through 107.7 MHz inclusive. In my area at least half of these frequencies are "blank" which I define as tuning to the frequency and receiving only white noise and no trace of a signal from any station.

I hooked up the unit, which was easy, and leaving out a lot of experimentation, I got no meaningful reception in the 88.x MHz range. I tried the upper reaches of the band in the 107.x MHz range and got the unit to work as well as it would work at 107.5 MHz.

I distinguish between two problems: the quality of the FM transmission, and the sound quality once the signal is received by the car's radio. For my car, the FM transmission is simply unworkable. There is a constant, obtrusive, background noise which I would describe as white noise; this noise can be lessened by moving the unit around but not eliminated to the point that it is not obtrusive. The general effect was as if listening to a distant FM station where the signal is starting to fade out to the point that background noise is coming through and interfering with the sound. I tried a number of different placements of the unit all over the car. There were moments but only moments where the unit worked flawlessly. In a way those few moments only made the overall effect more frustrating since they seemed to indicate that this technology could work but it wasn't working for me.

The sound quality, apart from the background noise, was quite good, at least as good as an FM transmission. Fussy as I am about sound, I found the sound quality as separate from the noisy transmission to be perfectly fine and as good as any other in-car sound source. This is one of those really frustrating situations where we all want to buy this product if only it would work.

How do we reconcile the differing reviews of these products some of which are downright laudatory and some, like mine, highly critical? I think the difference must relate to the individual auto's FM system. In different cars the antenna will be in different locations relative to the placement of the unit; further, the FM signal shielding provided by the car's metal frame will vary according to the car's construction and the relative location of the car's antenna. Also, specifications like noise rejection and signal strength sensitivity will vary depending on the type and quality of the radio provided in various makes of car. So, my suggestion would be: 1) reviewers state the make and year of your car to create an information resource; 2) find a way to try this thing out before you buy it: if it works in your car, and it probably won't, you will be happy.

Before buying this, I checked out various FM transmitters, as I only have a cd player/radio in my car. The iTrip and similar top-mounted transmitters all had very inconsistant reviews, and I didn't particularly like how they looked on the iPod. Then I noticed Monster's iCarPlay, which seemed like a good idea, as it charged and transmitted, and I assumed it could be a better transmitter because there was simply more power for it. Looking around at other, similar products, I found this Kensington product.

I decided to buy this over the iCarPlay because it blends so well with the iPod and because it was "Aerielle Enabled." I actually had no idea what that meant, but upon further investigation, it seems that it is a new, patented method of transmitting which is supposed to be quite good.

It is. I plugged one end into my cigarette lighter, and my radio, which was already set at 88.1, went from static to total silence. That was when I knew this was a great product, because the complaint with tramsitters is that they transmit a little bit of static themselves, but this was completely silent. I was a little worried because all of the 107 sations are taken in my area (North of Boston), but all you really need is one empty station (you can only set this transmitter for 88.1-7 or 107.1-7). I plugged in my iPod and turned on the music, and there it was on my radio. It didn't sound weak at all, but it was a noticable downgrade from CD. So I played around with the settings. I turned up the bass on my stereo and set the iPod's EQ to "Acoustic," which worked very well; the sound was crisp high and low, and a good balance. That may just be my stereo though, so try different combinations if you're not satisfied, but I truly cannot tell the difference between a cd and my iPod now. I'm sure there is some lost quality, but none I'm going to notice, as I am driving a car, and cars can be quite noisy. The EQ can drain the battery a little faster, but it's charging, so it works out great. A nice touch is that when you turn your car off, the iPod automatically pauses, so you don't have to worry about leaving it in your car overnight and coming back in the morning to discover you have no music for the commute.

I recommend this product to anyone. Well, anyone with an iPod and a car.

This is the 4th FM transmitter I've tried in two years. I was a bit skeptical at first, thinking I'd get the same bad reception and bad sound as the others. Griffin, Belkin and Monster also boasted great reception and good stereo output. But when I plugged my iPod into the Kensignton FM transmitter, it was a world of difference. No static noise, great reception and the best sound quality I've ever heard from one of these attachments. The quality is better than a CD. I am genuinely impressed. I have no idea what Aerielle technology is, but I can say, it sure works great.

I was a bit worried about the limitation of 8 FM stations, but at least where I live (Denver, CO) I am always able to find a clear channel, and rarely have to switch off of 88.3. If you want crystal clear transmissions, this is the one for you.

Tektrum MPPT 15A 12V/24V Solar Panel Charge Controller - 30% Power Boost

We bought it and tested it through the mppt cycle, don't work and the voltage output was too high (auto detect did not work) and damaged our 12v-based equipments. Bad physical design as well.

I purchased the 15 Amp Tektrum controller as pzrt of my initial set-up for my Lance Camper. The unit is compact and the set-up was very easy. Emphasis in the instructions to connect the battery first. Otherwise damage to the controller can occur. Maybe an issue with low review rating? The description clearly states the the primary charge is PMW and the final charge is MPPT When installed the constant red light means bulk PMW charge and a blinking red light indicates MPPT charge. My voltage at full charge is 13.8 volts. In my opinion is not overcharged at all. I am no expert on electronics but the controller charges my batteries very quickly and efficiently. Overall I am very happy with this product, ease of use and cost. I wouly highly reccomend this product for a "stand alone" inexpensive system. It also leaves room for expansion to my 90W panel.

I bought this because it was MPPT, and none of my others were so I paid more expecting better performance I was hoping for 20-30% better.

I have built 5 separate solar applications over the past couple of years at home, my boat and my cabin, so while Im not a qualified expert, i've been playing with solar for a while and I am not a novice.

I hooked this MPPT controller up to a watt-meter to get a read on watts, amps, battery condition etc while this controller was in use. I then swapped the controller out with 3 cheaper ones (not MPPT)to compare performance. I also tried with 2 batteries to ensure the MPPT controller wasnt just tapering down for a full battery.

What I found was unexpected and disappointing. Using a 15W panel in good sun, I was getting 9W through to the battery on all 3 of my cheaper controllers, but this MPPT controller would only put through about 6W about 30% LESS.

Not being an expert on MPPT, please let me know if somehow this makes sense. But it would seem this controller is less efficient than normal. I cant reconcile my experience of 30% less output, to manufacturer's claims that MPPT controllers give 30% better output???

Also, the controller makes a fast "ticking" noise as it charges which is a bit annoying if there is not much background noise to hide it. My other controllers are silent.

Unless Im missing something here, I seem to get better output from my $10 controller than this one which was six times the cost.
