It is a three-stage charger. The specification says that depending on the current state of the battery, it will do a fast charge to around 80%, then a slower charge to almost full, then finally move to a lower voltage "floating" charge to keep the battery near 100% without overcharging.
I used a multimeter to watch the charging process. My battery was mostly full to start with, so the charger started charging at 14.1 volts (the slow charge mode) and then after a few hours moved to 12.7 volts (for the floating charge). These both seem appropriate voltages. In particular, the floating voltage of 12.7 volts should be safe for long-term battery maintenance.
After about two days on floating charge, my charger's red charging light finally went off. Over the next couple of weeks, when I checked the charger, the red charging light was mostly off but I occasionally noticed it on. It looks like the charger is moving between off and floating charge as needed for sustained maintenance.
I'll have to see how the charger holds up under long-term use, but so far everything looks good.
Update November 2010: I've been using this for two years now and I continue to be very happy with it. It's pleasant to come back from a four week absence to a fully charged car battery, with zero hassles!

This product is great!! It also has a low price.I bought this for the cold winters here in Iowa. I have older cars they are 96, 92, 01. I just connect them through the lighter option connection and switch them every day.

Humless Sentinel Portable Lithium Based Generator
I purchased this Humless Sentinel as backup power for power outages and for the eventual major earthquake in the Palm Springs Area (I hope this one doesn't happen). What interested me was the long life lithium based battery and all the controls in one box. I had made a lead acid based battery system years before and have also read many reviews about the negative aspects of using "car/RV batteries". I wanted a clean system that would hold a charge for a very long time and really be ready when the need arises. It's a 50 amp hour system so it is not designed to make up for the loss of power to major appliances, but it runs lap top computers, small TVs, LED/CFL lighting, fans and basic necessities quite well (up to 1000 watts continuous).This product, although pricey, is well built and performs as described. I also purchased two 90 watt solar panels and some cabling from Humless directly (from their web site at Humless.com), that allow the system to recharge during longer power outages. The panels fully charge the Sentinel in about 4 hours, and are plug and play meaning the twist-on connectors hooked up in seconds without any hassles at all. This means I can use the device during the day and still have some power for the evening hours. I still have the portability and it stores in a small closet space with the solar cables running up to my roof.
The Humless team in Utah was very helpful answering questions during a few telephone calls to verify that coupling the Sentinel to their solar panels along with my "install skills" would get the job successfully done. I'm happy with the purchase and results.

Delivery was on time, packaging was great, I have charged the generator multiple times from zero to full charge using my 100 watt Ramsond solar panel and it charges and works beautifully. Well worth the money and I know that when the power grid goes out someday that I can depend on this to power everything in my room all night: a 32 inch Sony TV, lamp, xbox 360, and a laptop as well as charge my iPhone and other devices.Also I would like to add that the customer services people are great and answered the questions I had as well as mailing me an additional cable that I needed. I own two of these generators. I brought the first one for a camp trip in Mexico, last spring. After the first full discharge of the battery, It would not fully recharge. It barely charged at all. I thought it was bad power in a Mexico hotel. So when I got back, they sent me another one. I just fully discharged this one last night and, again it is not fully re-charging. It has been charging for 20 hours and is nowhere near fully charged.The company, located here in Utah, seems to have disappeared or is not responding to any inquiries on my part, so I guess I can forget any warranty hopes.

Nothing to special but they look awesome and perform pretty well, we are testing them right now in the city (not doing to well) but we will put them to the real test in the desert in a month. lots of option on these so it can get a little confusing but give it a little time and you'll remember all the menu options. Animal calls could be better and so could the water resistance capability but overall for 100 bucks you cant beat these. Midland makes good products so im not worried about these breaking or anything plus IF they do, they come with a 3 year warranty. Im calling this a great buy!

I purchased this item to attach to the zipper on my jacket. When I got it and removed it from the packaging card I found that the back is not enclosed with plastic. It is really a cheap piece of junk.The cardboard card that shows the temperature and has the wind chill information on the back is exposed. It is only held in place by a little plastic edge of the front plastic piece.
I expected the card to be contained inside with plastic on the front AND the back so it would be waterproof. Instead there is no back. If you attach the item to a jacket or other zipper (on a pack for instance) and wear it out in the rain or snow the cardboard will get wet and be damaged.
I think just wearing it on a zipper with the cardboard exposed and using it as a zipper pull is going to cause damage because the cardboard is only held in place by four little ridges on the edge of the plastic on the front.
I won't know how it holds up because I plan to return it as soon as I can.

Every now and then the car I tow behind my motorhome needs a jump to get started and this product eliminates calling a service truck. It's easy to carry and stow but I am totally perplexed about the lack of a power cord to charge the unit. I had to hunt around for the right extension cord with a fitting compatible with the jump starter. The JUS500B is all it is advertised to be. The only drawbacks are that it is heavy for a portable emergency starter battery, it sits on the ground flat and will not store or stand upright at all (round bottom end) and it does not come with an electrical cord for charging. I bought this to replace an older Black & Decker jump starter that was stolen out of my SUV. Seeing the comments concerning the lack of power cord included, I was curious what type of cord it would take to charge it. When I got it out of the box I saw that a simple 2-prong, $3.00 appliance extension cord works fine.I live in the desert and the summer heat kills batteries; you never know when your car battery is going to give up the ghost and not even respond to an overnight charge. A jump starter has kept me from being stranded a few times, and it's also nice to have if someone else needs a jump.

It is not too heavy, easy to use. I used it for the first time about 2 weeks ago when my Honda City ran out of battery because I left my lights on. Luckily I have it charged. First thing to do: Unscrew end of connector. Take rubber piece and toss in trash then replace fuse with one in bag. The rubber piece will make it impossible to remove from car and can damage the connection of the FM transmitter. I'm tellin ya it was almost impossible to remove! If for some reason it's really lose in your car when plugged in then dig out of trash. :P However I have never seen any car device have a rubber piece like that though and it plugs in nice and tight without it.I use it with my phone. You just plug the 3.5mm audio cable into the audio jacks and you're good to go. The USB port keeps the phone juiced too. All you do is pick a clear station on your Stereo and device. Simple as that. Press the Volume Knob to turn the on screen display on and off. That's all there is to it if you're using it with your phone.
On the downsize you can't use the remote or controls on the unit to change stations on your phone. Or use just the usb cable for audio playback like some Stereos support. These are minor nitpicks though. I could be wrong. I will play with it some more and if anything changes I will update this review.
If you do have MP3s on your phone you can play them though the FM Transmitter by enabling mass storage on your phone. However since I mainly stream audio I haven't tried this but I'm sure it will work as once enabled it has your phone act as a usb storage device.
All in all this is a solid FM Transmitter. It looks good and works well. Of course it would be awesome if it had other wiz bang features like using the remote to skip songs (Course this is a IR remote and not RF so it might not be a good idea anyways while driving since you'd have to point it at the FM Transmitter.) and maybe Blue-Tooth support but it's still better than some of the other FM Transmitters I have seen for sale and the price for what you get is great!
Lack of documentation is kinda lame but the back of the box shows the basic features and it's simple enough to use. I'd also suggest a retractable 3.5mm audio cable for less clutter.This FM Transmitter acts as both an FM transmitter for your MP3 player to radio, as well as acting as an MP3 player in itself. It is basically offers 3 way compatibility with an external source via 1/8" input jack (i.e. iPod or any other MP3 player) or acts as an MP3 player itself by reading an SD card or a flash drive (has a usb input and an input for a standard SD card). The player comes with a very handy remote and if you are using the SD or USB/flash drive you can easily toggle through folders. It has its own volume control, and also emits a fairly powerful signal to reduce static and has a digital selection from 88-108 on the FM dial. It is easy to use, has a nice display that shows the song and other info.
To me, the most important feature of an FM transmitter for playing MP3s in a car is signal strength. There are lots of other quality transmitters available from near the price of this model upwards to 50 dollars and more, however they generally have the same functionality, perhaps maybe a larger display or a flexible extension from the input base, but for the expensive ones you are generally paying more for the brand and not the most important things, first being more signal strength (which tops out at a certain level anyway due to FCC regulations) and then being functionality like the SD card and usb options, remote, etc. Again this has all of that for a low price.
You'll be hard pressed to find another FM transmitter with this functionality and reliability for ANY cheaper, I've done tons of research and owned several. This is by far the best especially for the value. I use a 16 gig micro san disk SD card inside a standard adapter (I paid 12 dollars for the sandisk on amazon, bulk packaging) which holds A LOT of music and am always adding more from my PC. I can always hookup my iPhone, other MP3 player, or even a flash drive if I want and play music off of that.
If you don't have an auxillary jack on your car stereo, BUY THIS. It's by far the best FM transmitter for ten bucks and is practically as intuitive and multi-use as they get.
Other reviews claiming this is hard to use must be written by people who completely lack any tech savvy. It is very easy to use.

This car kit was a little hard to figure out at first but once I got it working it was great. The rubber seal that goes around the lighter seems very tight and with the cheap, lightweight plastic, I was afraid the device would brake on me.Maybe it should be easy for "normal" people to figure out, But I think it should come with some kind of instructions for operation.
The best feature is the usb plug. I put music on the flash drive and just plug it in the player. It plays my music great.
The worst feature is the wires that come with it,, They are to short. They need to be at least 6 inches longer so your zune player can sit on the seat. (I velcrowed my player so I can just stick it on my dash.
All in All, It's a darn good gadget and you won't be sorry.
HERE IS AN UPDATE after using this product for a month.
It does still work, but I have found it's difficult to set and adjust.
There is just way to many things I have found that makes this product NOT WORTH BUYING.
I would never buy again due to; IT HAS NO MANUAL so you know what your doing. The USB does NOT shuffle, (or if it does, I haven't figured out how).
After playing for an hour, I notice the "static" come's in bad. Maybe the product is getting to hot to play right?
After a month, I would NOT recommend buying this until the company encloses an owners manual.

Enter devices like this -at 5000mAh, it's got enough power to completely charge most smartphones 2-3 times. Even running 4G and watching streaming videos on your phone, you can comfortably be away from the charger for a couple days without having to worry. This device is fairly portable -a little bulkier than a kit-kat bar -and should fit easily into your purse or backpack... I wouldn't really want to carry it in my pocket, but I guess it'd fit fair easily into a zippered jacket pocket or something. Once you add in the necessary cable, though, it can start getting sorta bulky.
Speaking of bulk, one thing that sorta bugged me about this device was the proprietary charging cable. So many devices nowadays are mini-USB. It's nice having a standard plug. Why, then, do you have to use some weird DC adapter to charge this portable battery? It already comes with a mini-USB cable for use with smartphones and such -just let it charge with that! Since this device must be charged using the proprietary USB-to-DC plug, if you happen to lose it, you're done. Sorta sucks. For this reason (and for the added portability) I'd prefer to stick with a smaller charger like the Belkin F8M158tt Power Pack 1000. Sure, it doesn't have quite the same capacity, but how often are you really going to be needing several days' worth of portable charge on your smartphone in between opportunities to plug it into a wall outlet or USB port?
Anyway, this is a decent device. It comes with a whole range of adapters that allow you to plug it into your smartphone, normal phone iPad / iPod, etc. It's got great capacity but suffers from being a bit bulkier than lower-capacity battery units and a proprietary charge cable. While this could be a good workhorse for iPad users, I'm thinking of these types of devices as being primarily used to extend the life of smartphones for folks on-the-go. As such, this is just a little too bulky to be practical for my daily use. I'd give it a higher rating but the DC charge cable bugs me.You can read all the specific details pertaining to this device in all the other reviews. I just wanted to correct the misconception that it will only charge via a computer USB port. This is not true. I used my HP Touchpad charger and it worked perfectly. This battery pack requires a charger capable of 1.3 amps. The iPhone charger only is .5amps (I believe). Any aftermarket charger that provides a higher current should work fine.
Only reason I am not making this a 5 star item is for the slight bulkiness of the pack. At the discounted price it can not be beat.This is a rechargeable battery that you charge up using your computer's USB port. Once it is charged, then you can plug any number of electronic devices into this battery, using the USB port in the battery, to run or charge your device from it. I've used this to charge up my 2nd generation iTouch iPod(r), my iPad2(r), and my Blackberry(r) Tour phone. (Obviously not all at the same time; just one at a time, grin).
When you charge this from your computer, it has 3 blue lights that will light up as it becomes fully charged (1 blue light means it's about 1/3 charged up, 2 lights is 2/3rds). It comes with all the cables to charge the battery from your USB port, and to then charge or run your devices. It does not come with a AC adapter to charge your battery from a wall plug, and it does not come with a 12 volt adapter to charge the battery from your car's 12 volt accessory port (cigarette lighter). To charge/run your device, select the right cable with the right connector for your device, plug it into your device and into the battery, and then there is a button on the batter to push to turn the charging on. While you are running/charging off the battery, the blue lights will tell you about how much battery you have left: 3 lights, full; 2 lights, 2/3rds; 1 light, 1/3rd. I don't have a good way to tell you how many hours this battery will run before you needs to recharge it again, but my experience has been really good. It's not like I have to charge it up each day. I don't use it more than about once a week in an emergency when one of my devices needs a charge. High recommended! The battery is small enough to fit in most pockets, less than 3 inches x 4 inches and about 3/4 inches thick.My first review of this product would have been an enthusiastic 5 star recommendation; however, having had it for a few months I have found a massive drawback a faulty USB cable. I contacted the company to see if they would send me a new one, and indeed they would if I paid 10 dollars for the cable and 9.95 in shipping. Needless to say I was not amendable to doing that.
When I originally received this item, I didn't use it right off as I never found that I was able to drain my Samsung Infuse cell phone or IPod touch 4th gen completely of batteries and find myself no where near a charger. I kept it in my purse just in case, and I did find myself needing it when I traveled extensively in November for both business and pleasure. First I found myself taking many pictures, and sending those pictures to Facebook, draining my cell of battery when I visited Walt Disney World. I was very lucky to have had this to charge my cell while we took a break for lunch or dinner. Secondly, when I traveled to Denver on business from Boston, I found I had forgotten to charge my IPod before I left. Having this in my purse was a Godsend for the 5 hour flight! After these experiences I became diligent about keeping the external battery pack charged, just in case.
Unfortunately, the USB cable (and its' attachments to charge my cell and Ipod) went dead in January as I was on the road for business again. I was unimpressed by the lack of customer service and how long it took them to get back to me only to tell me that I would have to shell out 20 dollars for a replacement cable. My work around for this is inconvenient, but it works I carry an IPod and USB mini cable with the battery to be able to use it to charge when needed. This is unwieldy, but again it works. The battery still works fabulously, so I will rate this at 3 stars for that, but be aware of the 0 star customer service and usb cable.

This is a pretty good product. It's a little bulky, but it carries enough charge for multiple full recharges of my iPod Touch. The size is suitable for carrying in a bag, probably not a pocket. The cable system works fairly well. I was a little dubious at first when I saw one cable with so many attachments, but it worked fine. I think the charger should have come with a cable that lets you charge it from the wall. Out of the box, the battery pack must be charged from a computer using the USB. However, I'm sure you could find an after-market cable to charge from the wall socket easily enough.

Bolse universal travel adapter is plug adapter. It does no voltage conversion. This plug adapter is different from other international plugs adapters I have in two ways:
(1) It is all-in-one plug not multiple small plugs like my other adapter sets. This is good because pieces are not going to get lost and always be there when you need them. The "price" for being all-in-one plug that this unit is bigger than any one of the individual country adapter. The Bolse adapter's size is 2 3/8" x 1 3/4" x 2 1/4" with all prongs retracted. Its weight is 3.1 oz.
(2) In addition to the AC outlet it also has an USB port built into the unit.
Having a USB port is extremely handy for recharging mobile devices.
I tested the USB port with Tested with Nexus 7 Tab, Galaxy Nexus Phone, Galaxy 7.7 Tab using Battery App by Elvison to determine how each device recognized the charging source. 'AC' status means the charging is at full charging rate. 'USB' status indicates charging at a lower charging rate. 'Discharging' status means that the charging rate is below the power that the device is consuming so it slows down the discharge rate but does not re-charge.
The results of my test is that the plug worked well with Nexus Android devices, but did not work with Samsung Galaxy Tab.

The plug operated very smoothly and I am attaching a video which demonstrates how the plug is switched between different configurations.

When the adapter is plugged into the wall socket, the "power" indicator lights up showing that the AC power and USB are operational. This plugs maximum power is 6A. This means some appliances that require higher power (for example some hair dryers) may not work. Check your appliance label to see if it requires less than 6A.
I am also attaching a collage of two photos (that can be located by following 'customer photos' link under the main photo). The first photo demonstrate how this plug fits on the power strip. It is fairly large and covers two outlets on the standard size strip. The second photo demonstrating Galaxy 7.7 tab running the Battery app (discharging).
I was provided a sample unit for testing, evaluation and writing a review. I provided pluses and minuses of my experience with this unit, and if you have questions I have not answered I am happy to reply to comments.
Overall, this plug performed well in all tests other than charging Samsung Galaxy Tablet. This plug is very well suited to those people who travel to many different countries. They can really take advantage of one plug that works in over 150 different countries. If you only travel to one country, then one dedicated plug might work better because it is smaller and lighter.

This neat little self contained box is such a cool engineering design. Within this (somewhat large) solid box are plugs to give you electrical access to just about anywhere.I just got back from England and used this daily for charging my phone, Kindle, iPod, etc. Even though I can plug them into my mum's computer using a USB cable, they often want to try and sync with her files. Not a good thing. It worked great, never got hot, and charged quickly. Since it packs into a small block, it was easy to keep in my carry on bag for using at either airport US and UK. The perfect accessory!
So I am thrilled that not only does this have a traditional plug input, but it also has a USB (albeit only one) charging port. I also like that it does not require extra plugs or parts that you have to keep in a bag. It is self-contained.
The plugs pop out from their respective sides as you slide the selection bar for the country you want. The physical design is clever and seems like it will hold up over time. I like that other reviewers have mentioned that this will not regulate the voltage so you need to be very careful with what you plug in.

This travel adapter is outfitted with the Europlug, the two flat pronged plug with a ground pin used for much of the UK, a USB port and the regular wall plug you find here in the USA. You can also rotate the USA plug to be angled so that they fit plugs in Australia and New Zealand. They are all tucked away neatly in the little black square cube that houses them. You select which plug you want to use by pressing down on a sliding button and moving it to the corresponding countries plug. This then releases that plug for use. When you plug in the adapter to the wall and it is receiving electricity, a blue LED lights up to let you know it's working. The adapter has a been coated with a soft black matte material to make it feel like it has a rubber finish to it. Everything is neatly compartmentalized into this small cube design, making it perfect for taking with you while traveling. It feels well made and the sliding button to release the adapters works well without any issues of it getting stuck. Very nice!A sample was provided for an unbiased review.

I travel often to Europe, and in the past have always had hard time finding a proper power converter to help me use my electronic devices over there. However, I've finally figured out two things: 1. All those cheap power converters that you come across really don't work. A true power converter would be too bulky and too heavy to carry around, especially on a plane. 2. Most of the modern electronic devices don't need power/voltage conversion. They work perfectly well with both the US and European voltages. So what you really need is a plug adapter.This Bolse adapter seems to work reasonably well. It can adapt to the plugs and devices from the US, UK, Europe, and Australia. In that respect it's pretty universal. It also has a USB charger plug, which is an additional bonus since we are increasingly reliant on all of our small USB-charging devices.
One big issue that I have with this adapter is its build quality. It looks and feels extremely flimsy. It will probably survive if you use it just occasionally, but I would definitely not recommend it to a more frequent traveler. Also, unless you really travel through multiple and varying regions, an adapter like this one might be an overkill. In that case I recommend looking into some simple and straightforward single-purpose adapters that can cost just a couple of bucks, or even less.

The wall and auto charger that I have state 1000ma on the labels, no surprise BUT the performance I am seeing with the wall charger is about that of a USB port on a PC per my Battery monitoring utility.
I checked the website photo's and the Auto (12v) charger shows 700 ma, (as I said mine SAYS 1000 ma)
Disappointed in the performance.

Here is the new and updated version of the SIR-BB2! Since they do not make the BB2 anymore, this is what you want if you have the PNP3 as it'll allow you to take the boombox anywhere! Note, the PNP2 and other Sirius receivers will not work with this, only the PNP3.Improvements include a better and lounder volume so that if you're outside you'll hear the program much better! The volume is adjusted by either pushing a down or up button. Also it's not as "thick" as the BB2.

The Audiovox SIR-BB3 Sirius Satellite Radio Boombox is a wonderful alternative to the Audiovox home shuttle docking station. With the boombox, you can take the Sirius Radio Shuttle anywhere you want. You are not locked into your home stereo. It is convenient to take to the beach or on a picnic.It operates on house current (for in home use) or batteries for outside use. The boombox has a very nice sound to it, even though there aren't any bass or treble controls. The speaker seperation is very good. Well, you still need to run/hide the cable to make it look nice and neat but that's something the manufacturer can't help you with. They, however gave you enough cable so you won't have problems even on a large bike.
What you get in the package are: main cable that connects to the battery and has weather sealed connector that accepts the other cable that actually terminates with a mini usb plug. Included voltage reducer (from 12v to 5.2v) has on/off switch and a green light indicating when the system is on, so you won't accidentally drain you battery. There is also a safety fuse. They also included wire wraps and Velcro tape for cable management. It took me about 30 minutes to finish the work. Most of time was used by planing the run of the cable. Charger worked immediately after installing and my Nuvi 260w gps worked perfectly fine. I took my bike on the road the very same day and went where I have never been before. I couldn't have asked for more. This is so much better than 3 feet of basic wire offered by others.

Handy small enough to store in the kitchen, yet big enough to have some power for frequent use. Smaller ones just didn't do the job, but I didn't need a big / heavy duty driver.Would have been nice to have a case for the included bits, but not a big deal.I have used this brand of cordless screwdriver for years.
