Generac 5735 GP17500E 26,250 Watt 992cc OHV Portable Gas Powered Generator With Electric Start
This unit's muffler quiets down the exhaust noise surprisingly well. In-fact the most prominent noise coming from this unit, comes from the engine's mechanical noise and forced-air fan. When the idle control is enabled the generator spins down and gets really, comfortably quiet. When the idle control senses a load, it spins the engine back up to full speed.
Plugged it into our inlet box via it's L14-30R socket, flipped every circuit over including our 65LRA/240V central air conditioner which connects to the generator via the sub-panel. Turned on every load I could think of, then engaged the A/C. I almost didn't notice when the 15,600w startup load from the A/C hit the generator, all I heard literally was a half second blip in engine noise.... in other words... with all the loads we currently have wired in (~8000w)... it was able to power them easily from a L14-30 plug... nice! It will be interesting when the L14-50 gets wired in and we add more circuits on the sub-panel.
To deal with the noise, I'll be building a small shed for this unit, near the house. I'm on the fence as to whether I'll attach a secondary muffler to this unit, since the exhaust itself, is already pretty quite.
The one draw back on this unit is that it consumes a good portion of fuel... 16 gallons in 10 hours @ 50% load.
Update 9/11/2012:
Since my original post, I did purchase a Walker Exhaust 22266 Quiet-FlowSS Muffler to use as a secondary muffler. Along, with some WALKER EXHAUST 40002 to connect the generac to the muffler... it's made HUGE difference in terms of quieting down the exhaust noise. BTW, the muffler exhaust port on this generator has an outer diameter (O.D.) of 1.5" inches.
Keeping in mind that this thing weights 390lbs, I decided to build a small shed for this generator so that we'd have it available for use in extremely bad weather (where it would be difficult to roll this thing into position...). Also, while the muffler does an excellent job at quieting down the exhaust noise, the shed serves to cut down on this generator's air cooling induction fan & engine noise, as well.
We ran 4 THWN 6 gauge cables ( through 2" SCHD 40 PVC conduit, 18" inches underground...) from the shed to our home, to support full 50 amp 240V service from the generator. Yes, this generator puts out a total of 72AMps at 240V, if we want to use that extra power in the future, I'll have to pull additional wires through our conduit and hook up to one of the generator's other power outlets. We also ran 2 THWN 10 gauge cables, from our home to the shed, to support a 20 amp 120v circuit. This circuit we use primarily to keep the generator's starter battery fully charged, it also provides us with a heavy duty outdoor outlet on that side of home, which comes in handy.
In terms of performance, we've had a brief power outage recently, and the generator, inside it's shed, has worked flawlessly.
Update 10/31/2012:
Lost power during Hurricane Sandy, for about 20 Hours. Generator ran the entire time, without a problem. First long duration run. My wife, daughter and I were VERY happy with the outcome. Worth every penny.Ok, it does come without the wheel kit or handle attached, but it wasn't too terribly bad to assemble. A bit of leverage and some lumber, and everything went together as instructed. Taking my time (and stopping to get some wasps out of the garage) it took me about an hour. I do feel that Generac could at least attach the wheels, even if they do leave the handle off to protect it during shipping.
Starting it was a breeze, and it runs smoothly, if a bit on the loud side. Not terribly annoying, but they could improve the muffler a bit.
Overall, it is stable, easy to operate, and so far has been reliable. I am quite happy with the generator. I would make sure that if you are having it delivered to a residence, the vendor makes appropriate delivery arrangements. Mine showed up on a 48' FedEx Freight truck that almost took out the power lines and had trouble making the corners in the neighborhood. This generator is solid. It ran for 10 days straight due to Hurricane Sandy. I only shut it down when we were not home or for maintenance. Powered my entire home without fail. The only warning I will give you is that make sure you have a lot of gas. I had 60 gallons in the shed, but that really is not a lot for this big guy. I was burning 1.2 gallons an hour. Im upping my supply to 75 gallons so I at least have 3 full days of runtime before I need to reload.
Your other option is a natural gas conversionThis generator puts out a great deal of power. It will power most average size homes. I use an indoor manual transfer swith and an outdoor receptacle to connect the unit to the main 150 Amp house panel. I also have a wattmeter box to monitor the draw so as not to overload the generator. This generator is very heavy. When it gets delivered you need to make sure it can be set in an enclosed area like a garage. You need to put on the wheels and the front skid and handle. You will most likely need a floor jack to lift the unit up to install the wheels. It is not quite as easy as you may think. However once oiled and fueled up it started immediately and ran very smooth. It was actually quieter than I had expected. The fuel tank holds 16 gallons so be sure to get some Stabil to keep the gas fresh. This generator puts out a lot of power for the money and I would not hesitate to recommend it.
Schumacher PI-200 Instant Power DC to AC Power Inverter - 200 Watts
- 200-watt power inverter with 400-watt peak surge power
- Has LED indicator and convenient on/off switch
- Includes 12-volt cigarette lighter and accessory plug
- Features a high-speed cooling fan and overload protection with a low battery alarm
- 115-volt AC power for running computers, cell phones, lights, power tools, television, radios, and CD players
The PI-200 has been my constant traveling companion over thousands of miles of roads and has never failed me, plus it has about as many features as you could ask for. 200 watts is more than enough for charging the items that travel with me. It also features a low battery alarm should it drain the source battery below a certain level. But don't think that means you can continue to pull power through your car's cigarette lighter after the car is shut down for the simple reason that turning off your ignition also turns off the power to your cigarette lighter.
The workaround for this would be to find an adaptor going from a female cigarette lighter to two clips. Then attach the clips to the battery and plug into the other end of the adaptor. Then keep your inverter handy and shut it off if and when the low battery alarm goes off.
Built like a tank.

you need to make sure the things you need to power are less than 200 watts. I bought it for a camping trip to power an air mattress pump but the wattage exceeded 200w. It worked fine for other things, eg phone charger, camera charger. Just check the adapter for the amps and do the math (wattage = ___ amp * 120 volts) to make sure it works for the device.Love it! I had it for a month and a half, and it worked fine, then it started to break. It's still working, but I don't know how much longer it has in it, the connections are loose. I'd like something that lasts longer, but at least it wasn't one of those things that never works at all. This is $3.00(inc'l s/h). You gotta be kidding me. I bought a charger from ebay that was $5.00 that almost bricked my Zune; the touchpad did not work for hours. I came on Amazon, then, and after reading the reviews, I gave it another try. It shipped by mail, to your mailbox, not UPS or Fed-Ex, which is why the shipping is so cheap. It came in a box and a tamper-proof bag. Good choice, haha./ I opened it, and speculated the quality. It was hecka lot higher quality than I expected. No loose connections, or uneven structure. The cord is about 3 1/2 feet long, which is acceptable. There is a charge indicating light, which is pretty convenient, to which I'm sure sure is really necessary, or functional, but that doesn't matter. I plugged it in, and the input to the Zune was too big to fit the case; it is wider than the OEM charger that comes with the Zune. You also have to wiggle it in to fit the charger into the Zune input. But, it's a minor hassle. It charges right when plugged in, and I'm satisfied. YayPros: Cheap, quickly delivered
Functional, and has charge indicating light
Portable
Cons: A bit wider than the normal charger, is too wide to charge with case(Armor metallic silver) on.
Very slight effort to plug it into the Zune, which is very negligible.
When my Zune is done charging, the light is still red. As I predicted, these charge indicating lights are useless

I wanted the product to do three things: (a) First, I wanted a car charger for my iPhone 4. The FlexSmart does that just fine, and the price of the item is about the same as an Apple car charger. (b)I wanted a iPhone holder for the car; it's OK for that. A little bit wobbly, but I feel safe mounting my device to it. Its gooseneck neck isn't too long, which probably adds to the stability, but it also makes it somewhat crowded around my car's dashboard controls (e.g., heater knobs). I can live with that. (c) I wanted an FM tuner base. I tried the only FM tuner presently suggested by Apple for iPhone 4, the Belkin, which contrary to what Apple states, did not work with my iPhone 4. The GoGroove tunes my iPhone 4 just fine.
A couple of minuses: (1) the materials the GoGroove are made from aren't top notch. It's worth the $40 I paid, but not much more than that. (2) I have to take my iPhone out of its bumper to properly seat with the GoGroove. The same was true with the Belkin tuner, so that's probably a problem with Apple's bumper. My previous FM transmitter/charger for the iPhone 4 was the NEEWER FM Transmitter, which I do NOT recommend. I purchased two of these over a one year period because the 12V adapter stopped working in the first one. The second one worked for a time, but after a few months, the charger began blowing the fuse for my radio/cigarette lighter. I went through ten fuses before I finally decided to buy the Flexsmart 4i.
--Hardware--
When I received the product, I was very impressed with the packaging and detailed instructions a good hint as to the quality of the product. Installation was a snap. I have a '96 Honda Accord, where the cigarette lighter is located near the bottom of the dash panel and to the right of the shifter. I had no problems inserting the adapter into the cigarette lighter, a common issue I've seen in other reviews. The gooseneck mount made it easy to keep it out of the way, plus you can orient it in landscape for GPS navigation. The ability to adjust the side-grips allowed me to keep my inCase plastic case on as well as keep it securely in place. I live on a mountain, so I drive on lots of windy, bumpy roads and never once had it slip. It's also very convenient (and safe!) to have my iPhone at arm's reach. Releasing the side-grips to remove the device was also very simple and quick.
--Features--
The four preset buttons are very useful for quickly changing stations. Selecting one instantly jumped to it with no skip. I haven't tested the autoscan feature though. Music came through very clearly on my selected channel with very little static, which is excellent considering there are several radio towers and lots of interference on the mountain. Bass reproduction was no problem for me either. The feature I was most impressed with was how quickly it charged. The Neewer FM transmitter was barely capable of charging the device faster than the battery was being drained. With the Flexsmart, my battery charged from 89% to 100% after only 20 minutes, even with music, GPS, and 3G/Edge/WiFi enabled.
My only complaint with this product is that the LCD readout for frequency is very difficult to see even in moderate sunlight (I don't have any tint on my windows). However, the preset feature partially solves this as I already know the four stations that have the clearest sound in the areas I commonly travel. Overall, this is an excellent product and I highly recommend it to anybody with an iDevice.I bought this mount in preparation for a vacation that was going to involve a lot of driving. I use my phone in conjunction with the free MapQuest app as a GPS unit, and I learned the hard way that I really need some kind of mount for it. My old mount cost about $20, and uses a suction cup system to adhere to the dash, with sticky gel to "hold" the cell phone in place. After about six months of rattling around in my pickup, the suction cup doesn't hold any more, and the sticky is long gone from the gel pads. I had no confidence that it would hold my expensive iPhone 4 safely.
One of the other problems I had with my original mount was with the cords. I had a power adapter plugged in to keep the device charged, and was using an audio cable to connect the phone's headphone jack to the Aux in on the car stereo in order to listen to MP3s, and to hear my GPS program's friendly computer voice through the car stereo. I found that the cords were always getting in the way, and one or both of them would frequently get bumped and unplugged, causing distraction while driving. So I decided that since I was going to buy a new mount anyway, I might as well see if I could combine at least one of these features with the mount system.
The GOgroove FlexSMART mount works very well for my needs. The arm is strong, and holds the phone securely in place, and the padded clamping system makes me much more comfortable about the safety of my phone in all but the most dire of scenarios. I was dubious of the FM Transmitter at first, having tried a cheap one in the past, with which I was completely dissatisfied. I am happy to report that this one works very well. On long trips, I do have to occasionally switch frequencies, but overall that has not been a big deal. Shopping around for a new frequency once every 200+ miles really was not much of an inconvenience. The price-point on this unit was a little higher than I expected, but I have been very satisfied with the product, so I can't complain.
I did experience the issue reported by some of the other reviewers of this product, wherein the iPhone 4 displays an error message stating that the add-on is not compatible with the phone. However, I discovered that the error seems to only appear when the "bumper" case is on my phone. Apparently, it puts a bind on the docking port (probably not a good thing) causing a mis-alignment which makes the phone "think" that you are attempting to connect an incompatible third-party product. Luckily for me, my bumper case is a two-piece design, with the bottom third easily removable for docking the phone with something like an iHome station, and as long as I remember to remove the bottom piece before sliding the phone into the GOgroove, everything works perfectly. So if you happen to experience this issue with an iPhone 4, try removing the bumper from your phone before you return the item.
Another nice unsung feature of this mount is the ability to switch off the charger, so that you can safely leave it plugged into your dashboard power accessory outlet when not in use.
Overall, I am very happy with this device. I highly recommend this mount.Although this item worked great with my Android phone using the optional headphone jack cord, it was a nightmare for my Iphone 4. First, I got a warning that the Gogroove was not compatible with the Iphone as soon as it was directly mounted. For some reason, despite the warning it still lets you open up and play your music files. After a while though the iphone began to get really hot and another warning that I've never seen before appeared stating that the iphone was overheating. After just 2 weeks of use with iphone 4, the Gogroove completely overheated the iphone and blew a circuit in my car, shorting out the radio and my cigarette lighter. Fortunately, the iphone was fine, it just shut itself off to cool down.
I had to replace the fuse which I was not happy about. And I called Gogroove's customer service and they told me the 3-yr warranty they keep praising on their product description wouldn't cover a refund, only a replacement device which I'd lost all faith in. They just referred me to Amazon to see about a refund. Amazon of course has wonderful customer service and gave me a refund no problem. Bottom line-this device very well may short out a circuit if you attempt to connect it to an iphone 4.I read reviews that the plug gets stuck in the cigarette lighter it is true. I read reviews that it would stop working after a week or two it is true. Finally, I read reviews that the flexible arm is too loose it is true. A waste of money.
XM XPMP3H1 Portable Satellite Radio and MP3 Player (XMp3i)
- Pause and replay up to 30 minutes of XM programming
- Record songs while you listen, or schedule recordings of your favorite shows
- TuneSelect and GameSelect find your favorite artists or sports events on any XM channel
- Upload and manage MP3/WMA files with the included XM2go Music Manager software
- 2 GB on-board memory, expandable via the microSD card slot
I've had a good experience with the Xmp3i so far. In fact, I was able to listen to live XM/Sirius radio while biking over the weekend with very little interruption. I also used the home dock to record some of my favorite shows for playback later. I believe it is the ability to record programming which is this unit's strong suit. You can record up to five channels at the same time, so getting vast amounts of music/talk on to the device in a timely fashion is easy; provided you have correctly installed the home dock. The playback is flawless and is much more convenient than listening live since you can skip songs, commercials, etc.
The interface seems a little sluggish at times and is not the most intuitive, but it works. Thanks to the microSD slot, you can load up your MP3 library and play your own tunes as well. I was impressed by the overall sound quality from both the satellite feeds and my MP3 files.
The Xmp3i is best-suited for users who will pre-record their music/shows to bring along in the car for playback. It also works well as a standalone device for plugging into your home stereo system. Do not buy this if you want to listen to live XM/Sirius broadcasts when you take the subway to work, or while you're hanging out in mom's basement waiting for some laundry to dry. Though it has a built-in antenna for live reception, the manufacturer clearly intended that to be used in outdoor-only situations.

This is a great little radio. Reception is great. I love the recording of XM stations feature. BUT, as of this writing, the enclosed software DOES NOT work win WIN 7. So if you have WIN 7, you will not be able to copy mp3 recordings on this unit. Why they (XM) have not fixed this is beyond me. I called XM about this, and they are useless. Cutomer Service immediatly claims no responsibility whatsoever. They tell me to call Microsoft! Unbelievable. WIN 7 has been out for almost a year now. Come on guys!Read Best Reviews of XM XPMP3H1 Portable Satellite Radio and MP3 Player (XMp3i) Here
My XpressRC screen went out, and I needed a replacement. While I tried every way under the sun to find a current radio not made my Audiovox, I couldnt, so decided to try this one, since I dont own an MP3 player, I figured it would be a nice backup when I wanted to listen to something different.First, this is a satellite receiver. Anyone that expects a satellite receiver to work 100% like an FM radio, doesnt understand the concept. While more forgiving than DirecTv or Dish, you really need to be able to see one of the two satellite locations for uninterrupted reception. Im not going to fault the radio because it blanks out inside a house. It needs an outside (or south window) mounted antenna (included) unless you happen to live where there is a terrestrial repeater (I do).
The radio needed two firmware updates when received. They took about 15 minutes. Added several features and fixed several bugs.
XM audio quality on the included ear buds is good. Much better than I expected.
Sound quality through the powerconnect FM transmitter in my work truck is much better than the previous clip on your FM antenna device. No issues at all in driving around out in the country out of repeater range. Usual dropouts going through tunnels, or under gas station awnings I had with the XpressRC.
The MP3 section is great. Audio quality is excellent. Needs a MicroSD card to store more than 7-10 albums at 256K rate.
Havent tried the song or station recording feature yet. 30 Minute buffer works fine.
Easy to navigate. Now if the screen doesnt burn out like my XpressRC did, Ill be very happy with this receiver. I do plan to try to buy an extended warranty for it though.
It claims 4 hours for XM live, and 16 hours for MP3's. Ive been playing MP3s for 6 hours and the battery indicator hasnt moved yet.
The documentation claims you shouldn't have the radio in an environment over 95 degrees as it will limit the lifetime of the battery. Its 5 degrees warmer than that here in the shade, so I figure 120+ in the truck when its parked.
Might need to keep a spare battery in the fridge :)
If the product holds up to daily use, Ill be a happy camper.
EDIT TO ADD: 02/08/2012 Have had the radio running almost 2 years now. Works perfectly. The powerconnect to the vehicle electrical system gives interference free reception. Recording works great, and Ive built up quite a library, as well as put all my mp3s on a SD card. No issues with the radio at all after almost 2 years. Pops out to bring home on weekends, and plugs into the home cradle with an outdoor mounted antenna, although Ive stopped doing that and just use their internet service at home now. Good radio. Highly recommend.

I just purchased this product and was pleasantly surprised by its features, small size, and sound quality. It activated quickly and worked very well with good reception hand-held outside as well as indoors with the accessory antenna (included) in a window. Unfortunately, it is now fairly useless because I made the mistake of upgrading the firmware from v1.29x to v1.31x. This upgrade inactivates the control wheel of the device which means you can't use it -you can't selected items like channels, categories, set-up option, etc. The warrantee says the product should not be returned to the retailer from whom you purchased it (Amazon) -but should contact XM radio. XM radio technical support said they can't help, I should contact Audiovox. Audiovox said to leave an email on their website. I'm waiting for a response. Searching the web, others have had this same problem. I'll wait and see if any fix comes along soon, otherwise I'll return to Amazon. Glad I bought it here. I'll update this when and if I get more info.Update: Spoke with XM again today. Even though the packaging that came with the unit has an insert that says in capital letters: If you experience problems DO NOT RETURN THIS PRODUCT TO YOUR RETAILER but instead call XM Radio. The XM technician says they now have a solution -"Please return your unit to Amazon, buy another unit, and don't upgrade the firmware." Clearly that will work, but I think I'll wait until I hear back from Audiovox.
Final update: Audiovox's response was:"We don't provide customer or technical support for our XM radios; you must go through XM." So, I used Amazon's wonderful replacement service and was sent a new radio by overnight FedEx with Saturday delivery, printed out the return slip and sent the old one back. The new radio works just as well as the original but with a working control wheel. I love it. Downsides: every time I open XM2GO software to manage books and MP3s on the unit, it tells me my firmware is out of date -but I'm sure not going to update the firmware again. This unit is currently running firmware version 1.29x. If a firmware version appears that is higher than 1.31x, I might consider trying it, although I'd do so with some trepidation. I'm going to change my rating to four stars if Amazon will let me.
Final, final update: Thanks to a comment received to this review (feel free to read), I have now upgraded my new unit to firmware version 1.31x and after following the commenter's advice to remove the battery and wait a while -it works and works just great. Hope this helps others.Works great as long as you are standing in the middle of an open field and holding the radio over your head. If you live in a big city, XM does appear have the Clear Channel Repeater System backing up their satellite signal. I am guess that is where the good reviews are coming from. I live in a rural area. Took it to the ball park (no trees) for a morning jog. I could only get a signal while jogging in certain directions. It does work OK at the house hooked to the home dock with the external antenna but that is not why I bought a portable radio.I am boxing it up now to return.

Current, 0-110Amps, 0.01A
Power, 0-6554 watts, 0.01W
Charge, 0-65 Amp Hours, 0.001Ah
Energy, 0-6552 WattHours, 0.1 Wh
Minimum voltage is about 4.0 volts for operation of the meter itself.
I use this for testing all kinds of things, from RC gear, to Ham radio gear, to portable Solar systems. It does take some work to get it plugged into things. It comes with about 6" of bare wire on each end. I had to make adapters for the various typs of connections I plan to use. I start with Anderson Power Pole directly attached to the unit and then have adapters for several others.
5 Stars, this is an accurate and very handy tool

I bought this because of the reviews I had read on Amazon. It has turned out to be one of the best investment I've made in my off-grid solar/system. With it I could determine the total amount of watt hours I was getting from my solar panels on sunny and cloudy days. As a result I determined that I needed to purchase more solar panels for my total electrical needs. It is an invaluable tool for the small scale off grid person. One can also rig it into any appliance to determine the amount of energy that unit is using. I put 4 inexpensive rubber shielded alligator clips on the unit as this allows for many different applications. This battery was installed in a diesel pusher motor home as the "house" battery, which is used to power the lights, heat, water pump etc. when you are not connected to utility power or running the generator.
It is heavy (at about 72 pounds) but since it is a sealed AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) battery we won't have to remove it every 6 months and check the water level in it as you do regular lead acid batteries.
We also use a NOCO Genius G7200 charger (also sold through Amazon) to keep it charged since it is a "smart" charger and will not over charge the battery. We no longer use the coach's built in 12 volt converter/charger to keep the batteries charged since it will over charge the batteries and shorten their life.
Even though we have only had the battery 2 weeks, I would recommend it for 3 reasons:
1. PRICE! When shopping around for a group 31 AGM battery, our local battery store (Batteries Plus) wanted $325.00 for theirs. (To be fair, their AGM battery was a hybird with 1000+ cranking amps it is across between a deep cycle battery and a starting battery.) Other places online wanted $250.00 or more and around $50.00 shipping!
2. Exide has been making batteries for over 120 years so I think they will be around to honor their 2 year replacement warranty.
3. As an AGM battery there little maintenance (Just wipe it off every now and then). I have had an AGM battery in our full size truck for 7 years with no problems to report. Our other vehicles have had to have their batteries replaces every 2 to 3 years. The heat in Texas is hard on a battery... (From now on when we replace the batteries in our vehicles, they too will be AGM batteries.)
We plan on purchasing 2 more of these batteries when our existing engine starting batteries need to be replaced in the coach.
Hope this helps someone!

I bought this battery for my travel trailer and it passed the test on a recent 10-day trip to Yellowstone park. I had plenty of power for the whole trip without having to recharge. There was not a hint of fading power on the whole trip. My previous battery, which is only a year old, did not last this long on week-long trips. I'm happy.Added 1/13/13 I bought a motor home and no longer use this on a trailer. I am now using it as a battery for my Minn-Kota 50 lb thrust troling motor on my 2 boats. I can also hook up my fish finder to it and have plenty of power for both. It works as a back-up for the motor home though I haven't had to use it yet.

I purchased two of the Exide MC-31 batteries from Amazon which were delivered in May, 2011. They were very well packaged and in excellent condition. After unpacking and inspecting the batteries, I was surprised to see that the manufacture date was May of 2010. The batteries had been in storage without charging for a full 12 months. The open circuit voltage indicated only about 75% charge, indicating that some plate sulphation must certainly have taken place by this time reducing the battery life and capacity. When I contacted Amazon their representative directed me to deal with the manufacturer. (Catch 22) The manufacturer did not supply the batteries to me directly and they were not actually defective (just old). I put the batteries into service and just hope their service life has not been shortened dramatically. When they were shipped to Amazon is not known, but selling lead acid batteries that are already a year old sounds like a huge oversite on Amazon's part. If you are considering the purchase of one of these batteries, I would suggest you contact Amazon first and inquire as to the date of manufacture.Want Exide MC-31 MEGACYCLE AGM-200 Sealed Maintenance Free (AGM) Marine Battery Discount?
I was a bit worried about ordering a battery from Amazon especially after the poor review and date problem listed below but, our travel trailer battery was dead and after checking local prices (whew!) decided to give this a try. After reading all the reviews, opted for this one and then noticed, WarehouseDeals had one available for a few bucks less. Since batteries can't be returned in general, I figured the less spent, the less risk and opted to give it a go.
When the battery arrived, my initial reaction was "uh-oh" because it was dusty and dirty. No grease or anything but lots of dust...I think there was even a shoe-print on it! I dreaded the worst thinking this thing must have been sitting around the warehouse for ages. No so! I cleaned it off a bit and saw the date being the SAME month as shipped! Wow I can't even get batteries that new locally. In fact, I can't come anywhere near this price on this battery (or similar ones) locally...the next best price was about $100 more than what I paid.
Hooked it up to see the charge...was at 92%. Charged the remainder. Works like a charm! Couldn't be more pleased by this purchase. Great battery, great price, great delivery, very fresh! Oh it was dirty as all get-out but I saved about $100 so still very pleased! Not sure why the production date of the battery I got was 12 months ago .. but it was fully charged and came packaged well enough. Since it shipped for free with Prime .. I'd hate to know what it would have cost with regular shipping cost considering its weight.

This time when the WFCO started acting up, I decided to try the PD unit and so far I like it the install was a bit tricky as space was cramped, but the unit fit with some wire rerouting connecting the two wires and plugging it in was a breeze -
It's not in an easy access location, but I left the optional pendant connected for a while and the unit seemed to be cycling properly in spite of being 'cooked' once by the WFCO, the battery appears to be working fine I'm thinking the cycling on the PD unit has actually helped the battery back to a decent condition after a couple weeks, I removed the pendant and put the breaker panel back together -
The WFCO was a 55 amp unit and I replaced it with a 60 amp I have had two deep cycle batteries, so I thought it would be smart to increase the size slightly in case I add another battery these days, I haven't parked anywhere that I haven't had at least a 110V 15A circuit available for battery charging so I haven't bothered adding the second battery -
The real issue is how this unit performs over time so far, so good -

Update 11/27/2012
I purchased the original unit in March 2012 In July, the original unit stopped working I contacted 2008 second time, they promptly arranged for a replacement unit which has performed flawlessly since hats off to '2008 second time' a great vendor to do business with -The converter was delievered on time, and was the correct product. I will continue to purchas from this supplier. The installation was straight forward.this was a replacement for a WFCO convertor that burnt out in my camper. After reading many reviews I settled on this converter and this amperage. the WFCO was 55 amps so I went witht eh 60amp Progressive Dynamics and the 9200 seriess.it arrived on time and was easy to install the package was good and pretty much tamper free i like it
