This came with my Garmin Forerunner 405cx, but I bought a spare to keep in my travel bag.

This easily clips onto the 405 CX, and is powered via USB on your computer (the 405cx also comes with an AC adaptor for this clip). I just leave my 405cx clipped to this when I am not running so that I know that my 405cx is fully charged when I go running. If you have an iPod AC travel charger, you can use that to power this unit instead of your computer.

Important: Make sure that the contact points on the Forerunner are dry before attaching this unit or you may damage the Forerunner.

The charging clip arrived quickly and was packaged well, so I had no problems with the seller. The Garmin charging clip, however, leaves a little to be desired. This is my second one to go with my 405CX the first one broke (plastic near the spring broke at the hinge) just from being packed in my briefcase or luggage repeatedly. This is the type of item you're going to keep with you in a briefcase, backpack, fanny pack, luggage, Camelbak, etc., in order to have it ready whenever you need a charge. I'm going to be starting to do ultras soon, so my clip will go with me in my Camelbak with a portable USB charger. The clip needs to survive all that stuff, and not just for 2 years, which is how long I had the first one. Garmin really needs to beef up the construction if they are going to continue to cater to athletes! I expect items like this to last, but by the time I go through a few of these charging clips, I could have nearly had another 405CX! Seeing as how this item is my only option for charging my watch, if I stay with Garmin products, I'm kind of stuck. But if this clip breaks, I'm seriously going to consider switching to somebody elses GPS watch!

So it charges okay utilizing the wall outlet and the USB connects to the computer. However, it is not the right type of cord so I cannot sync my workouts with the Garmin website.

Just purchased this for my 2008 BMW R1200RT (01/2012). The bike is fairly new to me and I wanted to be sure that the battery was maintained in good condition during the winter months that involve less riding and more time in the garage.

Bottom line is that the charger was shipped ready for use on my bike, using the CAN-bus program (I'm assuming that the seller, Kinney Cycles, St. Joseph, MI, did that kudos to them!) A quick read of the pretty straightforward instruction book (yeah, I do read 'em!) and I was able to connect the charger directly to my bike, using the on-board, front accessory socket. Uh-oh!! the Optimate4 showed a non-retentive battery at the end of its first charge-test cycle.

I removed the battery from the bike, changed programs to Standard in anticipation of needing to do some deeper work on what was apparently a depleted battery, and started the charger again. Result from the charge-test cycle was a perfect battery! Hmmm...

Changed the program back to CAN-bus, re-installed the battery in the bike and this time connected the charger via the rear bike socket. Perfect battery showing! Moving the charger plug to the front bike socket again showed a non-retentive battery.

Bottom line is that this isn't only a battery charger. It has also identified an electrical issue/fault on my bike that I didn't know about. Can you tell that I'm impressed with this unit?! It is well-made, simple to use, thorough and well worth the money. Good kit!! :)

UPDATE (March 9, 2012) TecMate asked me to return this charger (they arranged shipping and pick-up) so that they could upgrade it. Apparently, the issue wasn't with my bike, but in the charger's firmware. Their engineering staff took the time to review the situation and determined that.

I received the charger back yesterday, complete with firmware upgrade sticker (!) and it is now charging flawlessly through the BMW CAN-bus outlets. Just what I wanted, since it makes connecting and disconnecting the charger so simple and easy just plug it into the BMW outlet. Excellent customer service and attention to detail on TecMate's part. Gets top marks from me!! :)

My battery to my BMW R1150RT was close to dead! In comes Optimate 4 to the rescue!!! What an awesome product!!!

Before using the Optimate 4, I had to push start my bike a few times and what a pain in the butt that was! I rode my bike around for an hour and still the battery would not hold the charge. I knew that I wanted to get it before winter but I ended up forking over the money (not much) late summer. What a life saver! The images for this product are fairly misleading. This charger does NOT directly plug into a GO 910 GPS. This will only plug into an existing dock station (ex: windshield mount). I e-mailed the seller after receiving this item to ask why it wouldn't plug directly into my device and didn't receive a response. I then looked up the tech support phone number on their website, called & found out that way. This product was not the dock replacement I was looking for (since mine broke). Seller should update product images.

My husband and I have tried both, charging my daughter's Zune with the A/C plug and USB cable as well as with only the USB cable to charge through our brand new Gateway computer tower. This item is not working. I tend to believe there may be a short in the USB cable considering the fact that the Zune software program states that "no device is connected" along with the fact that my automatic settings on my computer never picked up on the device being plugged in. My daughter's Zune is almost brand new. She's had the device stored away in a safe place until bringing it to me. Beyond that I can say the seller was prompt on shipping.

I use a power inverter to charge my cell phone, my air mattress pump, my cameras, and my laptop while on the road. The first inverter I bought lasted all of maybe two days, so to replace it I resolved to do more thorough research. When I checked out Schumacher's site, I discovered they had a vast line of power supply equipment, much of it for industrial use. My assumption was their small consumer inverters would be built to industrial standards as well and might last longer than my first one. I was not disappointed.

The PI-200 has been my constant traveling companion over thousands of miles of roads and has never failed me, plus it has about as many features as you could ask for. 200 watts is more than enough for charging the items that travel with me. It also features a low battery alarm should it drain the source battery below a certain level. But don't think that means you can continue to pull power through your car's cigarette lighter after the car is shut down for the simple reason that turning off your ignition also turns off the power to your cigarette lighter.

The workaround for this would be to find an adaptor going from a female cigarette lighter to two clips. Then attach the clips to the battery and plug into the other end of the adaptor. Then keep your inverter handy and shut it off if and when the low battery alarm goes off.

I keep this in the car. Haven't used it more than a couple of times, but

you need to make sure the things you need to power are less than 200 watts. I bought it for a camping trip to power an air mattress pump but the wattage exceeded 200w. It worked fine for other things, eg phone charger, camera charger. Just check the adapter for the amps and do the math (wattage = ___ amp * 120 volts) to make sure it works for the device.

This product works as advertised. We have a small cabin "off grid" and wanted power for lighting and small appliances. I purchased this product to run security lights on our home property and to have some backup for when we loose power. Our power goes out frequently in the winter so I'm sure this system will get some use when the snow starts to fall. I have also used it to run my power saws and drill when doing odd jobs out back around the horse barns. I have tested to see if it would run the fridge and furnace and it had no problem doing that job. We have been using a diesel generator for backup and it does a good job but having to go out in bad weather to get more fuel every three days is something I hope to avoid in the future. My wife and I have downsized sense the kids are gone we use 1/4 the power now and have smaller appliances or a unit like this would not do the job for us.

Actually, the 3 stars are probably a little unfair. The system itself is awesome for those of us who like to drop off the grid every now and then. I spent 3 days in New Mexico just living on sunshine (and the propane gas heater). However, the buyer is led to believe that this is just a plug-and-play system. Hardly. I had it installed on my 5th wheel. The first dealer estimated two days to install, the second said twelve hours. I suppose that those of you who are more confident about punching holes in the roof of your rv and snaking wiring down through the walls and have no trouble getting particular items to run off of the a/c might find this fairly simple to install. I am not. So for those of you like myself, you might want to allow another $1300 or so for installation (there is no romex included either extra charge). So, four stars for the system, three stars for the BS make that two and split the difference to get three.

This is a well designed well built system. The only thing you need are your batteries and the cables to join them together. (The other cables are included to connect them to the inverter) I have not completed the installation as of yet, the wife has me doing other projects. But I am confident the system will preform as described.

My plan is power part of my house to cut power demand and to provide stable power to some electronic equipment with the pure sign wave inverter.

I had a few questions which I emailed the manufacture ..ie about Battery type and requirements. They were quick to respond and very helpful. My package was also missing a component which I again contacted the manufacture and the part was received in 2 days.

This unit is an excellent design but it has two flaws that I dont like.

1. The frequencies are picked automatically by the device which means only 4 fixed ones. And the ones it picks are usually really close to other radio stations giving bad interference.

2. The battery I think loses some of it power while transmitting to the car radio, and after about an hour of play time the radio station starts fading and picking up a lot of white noise. I also didnt like that to use the radio feature you had to hold in on the side button to swap between phone calls being made and playing music. Seriously, I am okay with two big buttons being on the unit, one for phone calls and one for music play and pause. The audio read out of the radio station used was annoying and a digital read out of the number would have been better.

Over all the unit is a good idea. It just needs to not be so "simple" on the buttons, which makes it more complex because I have to remember what holding a button in for 1 sec, 2 sec, 4 sec, 6 sec ect does.

For the price it needs some work.

I love the way this transmitter wakes itself up when I get into the car, the strong bass sound that comes through, and the ability to clamp it to my visor so it is out of the way & the microphone is right over my head.

There are a couple of minor things to point out. When setting it up, be extremely careful to NOT push & hold the + button as this can change the language & it doesn't change through them as easily as the directions suggest. Also, it does not work while charging. The owners manual is online only and is in extremely small print when printed out.

The above issues were totally minor to me. Oh yeah, I changed languages by accident & it took me almost 30 minutes to cycle through the other 4 languages (5 total) to get back to English. hehehe All in all a pretty good value.

Quick and simple. It works with calls, it doesn't work when trying to search for an FM frequencies. Keeps finding frequencies my Bose stereo cannot tune to I.E. 108.0 or 103.45. I decided to keep it and use it as a hands free device when driving but don't bother using it to broadcast your smart phone MP3 player on your car stereo.

Update; After leaving my review for this product (above) I was contacted by the seller who wanted to make things right. He in fact did make things right. He contacted his vendor and asked about the frequencies I mentioned above and found his vendor sent him the wrong model. The model I reviewed above was actually a European model. He sent me the U.S. model and I tested it out. It does work as described but the battery gets weak after short duration's of use. I plugged Avantalk car charger up and when it gets constant power its a great little device. I would've given 5 stars if the battery was better.

didnt really know just how much the different battery ratings would affect my project. i hoped it would power a 200w space heater to thaw my windshield before i got to my car with a power inverter and a christmas tree timer. but its just a little bit more than this battery can keep up with (it will last about 3 min before my power inverter kicks off because the voltage gets bellow 10.5v) im thinking about getting another one because it will run and charge my laptop for a few solid hours (its a beast for gaming not portability) im probably going to buy another to meet my needs. oh yeah, i dont have to worry about it falling over ether, it never leaks.

Recently decked out a power-wheels as a birthday gift.

Final product had a 300watt stereo system, with an ipod dock, real headlights, and neon ground effects.

The battery was shipped with new lug screws, it was 'fully-charged', and the identical size and configuration as the battery it replaced. My stand-alone battery jump starter / air pump kit now functions as when it was new. The old battery lost its ability to hold the full-charge needed for the 'jump-start' function. I was worried that the old battery would not be the problem, but it was solved with the replacement battery.

I just got it today and is great. I put it to a good test by having it charge my laptop while playing a movie and surfing the internet at the same time. This is a very good product for the price, I like how it keeps the station you were on and also keeps time, static is not noticeable until volume is at a very high level, but overall a very good product for the price.

I bought this product about a week ago from a store called 5 below for $5. Most phone products from this store doesnt work for me, but I tried my luck with this transmitter and surprisingly it worked better than I thought. I only have two issues with it; one it takes awhile (about a minute) for it to cut on and start working and second the car charger part for it either has a shortage or it is easily bumped out. I haven't tried it yet with the batteries put in but most likely soon will since overall it does do its main job for the price of it. Either way when it is on and working properly is has great reception! No static or anything.
