Schumacher XP400 Instant Portable Power Source

Schumacher XP400 Instant Portable Power Source
  • On/Off switch activates the jump starting mode
  • Built-in charger for automatic charging of internal battery
  • Battery status LEDs tells when battery is charged or needs to be charged
  • Sure-Grip clamps fit both top and side-mount batteries

This item does exactly what it says it will do. It's very simple to use. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out. Take out of box, then plug in for 36 hours. That's it. Done! Now, after we charged it for 36 hours we took it outside to our daughters car which was dead Since May 1st, 2011. Nearly two months. Wham, this little sucker boosted it immediately without being plugged into electricity. It has an internal battery. It can Boost or do over night slow recharges. It has a nifty built in light for those pesky jobs that are done after dark.

All in all, might wanna give this little thing a shot. Well worth the money, at least it was for us!

I purchased this due to the quality reviews and have not been disappointed.

I charged the unit overnight and it was amazing. I've started several cars including my sisters jeep that had been sitting with the battery dead over a month. It started the Jeep in a few seconds. We kept the engine going for 10 minutes and then stopped the car. Without it being connected to the starter/Shumacher power source, the battery was so dead that it didn't even have enough power to turn on the dome light!

(P.S. for the cynical 3 men that asked about this item; please drop the negativity and read. The internet sure can get nasty. All I was saying was in this example that my sisters battery was dead and in bad shape but the charger still started the car. After I disconnected the charger and turned off the car, not even the dome light would go on. We then put the charger back on, started it again and drove to the store to get a new battery. What good is it? It allows you to drive to wherever you need to so you can get a new battery that's why it's good. Sheesh. If you leave your lights on and your battery still is in ok shape, obviously if you start your car the battery will recharge. If you STILL don't understand this then please move on to another review. Thank's though; I always appreciate comments.)

You keep this in your trunk and when you want to jump a car, you bring it next to your battery. Attach the positive and negative connectors to your cars battery and it starts in an instant. It is amazing. It also has a meter to show if it needs to be charged and it has a bright light that can be turned on when it's dark outside, especially during a rain storm.

If you have a child in college or at home that drives, this is a must have. With so many dangerous situations with young college girls, this can bring them piece of mind. Obviously it's for anyone; wife, husband, or child.

It also has connectors that you can run electrical appliances for various times. It's not a generator so it will be for fairly short times but it will charge a cell phone very easily.

I don't know of a product that I've been so pleased with recently. A great price, for a great product.

In this day in age no one can leave their gadgets at home, even when going camping! We just bought a used school bus that we hope to eventually convert to an RV, but for now it's just a bus..... & busses don't come with cigarette lighters! I was trying to figure out how I was going to keep all of our phones & other gadgets charged for the entire weekend, plus run our air compressor. Then I came upon the Schumacher XP400 Instant Portable Power Source. This machine is super user-friendly, versatile, & lightweight! I took it out of the box & charged it overnight as instructed & it was ready to go! I was a little concerned about how long it would last since I'd never used it before, but we camped for four days & charged four phones numerous times as well as inflating two huge air mattresses along with several smaller floats. It still had over half its charge once we got home (as indicated on the handy charge tester on the front). The spotlight on the front also came in handy! The only thing that would make this power source any better was if it included an air compressor right on it, but since I already had a portable air compressor to plug into it, it was no big deal. I love this machine & I would definitely recommend it.

I bought this back in February and had't had to use it until this morning (it's mid-November) when my car refused to start. I was a little trepidatious as there were mixed reviews when I bought it, the instructions state over and over that it needs to be recharged every 30 days and it's been at least 2 months since I last plugged it in; but I hooked it up, turned the key and vroom, my car came back to life. Could not have been simpler.

A couple minor inconveniences: The cables are awfully short, but long enough that I could connect them to the battery and rest the unit on my car frame without crossing any wires. And as others have stated, there's no cord to plug the unit in to charge it you need a 3-prong extension cord to do so, unless your outlets are situated perfectly to plug this directly into the wall.

Orange Electronic P409S Retrofit Tire Pressure Monitoring System

Orange Electronic P409S Retrofit Tire Pressure Monitoring System
  • Includes a Lithium-ion battery
  • Projected 5 to 7-year battery life
  • Ergonomic Design that displays tire pressure
  • Designed for vehicles that did not come with a factory tire pressure monitoring kit

After having read reviews and researched Hella TC-400 and Orange Electronic P409s kits, I decided on the P409s because it is less expensive, less complicated to install, displays 4 tire pressure readings simultaneously and has one small display unit (vs a display unit AND receiver that the TC-400 requires).

I installed the sensors myself onto brand new 18" BMW aluminum alloys and had my shop use a dial-type torque wrench to torque the valves (included in the kit) down to 4 newton meters (~35 inch pounds), exactly as the Orange Electronic P409s manual states. If you don't have a dial type torque wrench (not clicker), then you'll need one to install this kit. I then had them mount the tires on and as soon as they pressurized the tires, the sensors turned on.

The kit includes absolutely everything you need: valve cores, valve stems, valve stem caps that say (sensor inside), and sensors. The only thing you need are wheels and tires.

Finally, it takes about 5-10 seconds every time you plug the head unit in for the sensors to link up to the head unit. And the digital readout is very accurate, providing the identical reading that my handheld digital tire pressure gauge gives. What an awesome kit, from the cockpit of my BMW 850i (which has a lot of insulation, I was concerned about wireless reception), I can get the signals from all four sensors. There are no reception issues to report.

You can manually set the high and low (pressure and temp) alarm thresholds, and upon trigger of an alarm, the sensor in question lights up red on the display and it starts beeping. If you pressure the top button once you can silence the beeping. It's amazing to watch the tire pressures as you drive, you can watch them rise and see how high they really do go, this helps a lot because I use monitor my pressures closely to equate to the amount of grip I'm get during some of my performance drives on curvy country roads. Having this kit has allowed me to tweak my optimum cold tire pressures in order to properly balance tire life and grip.

I highly recommend this product, especially for high performance sports or luxury cars. In my humble opinion, the P409s is the way to go for after-market TPMS.

IMPORTANT NOTE: It is useful to note that when you buy the kit, if you plug in the head unit, the sensors will NOT LINK UP to the head unit UNTIL you install them and pressurize the tires. They have a sleep mode that goes into effect when there is no pressure in order to preserve battery life while the unit is sitting on a shelf. So if you buy the kit and want to "test" it prior to installing it with tires/air, it won't work until you actually pressurize the tires and then plug the head unit in.

I have found this to be the best of three different after-market TPMS that I've tried. This valve attachment location has proven more durable than the band technique. The simultanous four-time readout is more user-friendly than those readouts that require a button to be pushed repeatedly to change among multiple tires. This unit has proven appropriately sensitive to low tire pressures on multiple occasions. Economical. Highly recommended.

...and highly recommended if you don't. Bought this device from another online vendor because Amazon had not yet started carrying it. This one gets only 4 1/2 stars because depending on where you place it, the display might not be readable in bright light conditions. However, the audible alarm will promptly alert you of anything headed south with your tire pressures.

(UPDATE Dec 04, 2011: As of this date, I still own this Subaru and have put an ADDITIONAL 100,000 miles on it since the failure of the center differential that was suspected of being caused by one chronically low tire over the first 80,000+ miles under the most extreme of driving conditions with no hint of the second differential encountering a similar issue.

While the potential consequences for damaging an expensive drive line component in an AWD system due to one low tire would appear to be arguable in theory as discussed by one knowledgeable commenter, the tolerances in today's AWD systems might just well call for tighter control of tire pressure conditions to prevent damage OVER THE LIFE of the AWD vehicle, especially in the seemingly superior AWD system of the Subaru. Is it possible that in less capable systems, AWD prowess is sacrificed for long term reliability of drive-line components? It's not worth it for you to find out the hard way.) END of UPDATE.

I bought this tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) after losing the center differential to the tune of $880 in our 2004 Subaru. What in the world does this have to do with TPMS? Well, it turns out much more than you would think!

Most folks who own full time all wheel drive vehicles don't realize that they must keep close watch on tire pressures, tire brands, etc., especially if you have a manual transmission. If you own a full time all wheel drive vehicle, check your user manual to see what it says about buying tires for it and keeping

them properly inflated. Many of these vehicles might have to have ALL FOUR tires replaced in the event only 1 becomes unserviceable.

You might also find that you will have a FULL SIZED spare instead of one of those donut types. This is because no tire can vary in CIRCUMFERENCE more than 1/4" 1/2" from another in order to maintain proper rolling characteristics. That my friends, is a pretty tight spec! Pressures must also be adjusted for loading of the vehicle. Some all wheel drive vehicles might still have the donut spare, but you will be limited in speed and how far you can drive on it. Your user manual might not explain why or you might question it and ignore the precaution...a very bad idea. Failure to heed this tidbit of information could result in a very expensive repair. The forces at work here are similar to those of driveline binding, a concept known to most seasoned 4WD vehicle operators...it just never occured to me how much a chronically low tire on a drive axle could really cost me!

The reason for this can get a little technical but I will try to keep it simple. The amount of air pressure in most tires affects how many times it will rotate over a given distance. With less air pressure in your tire, it will generally roll more times per mile, run hotter and under certain conditions, put more stress on the driveline of your full time all wheel drive vehicle. If it is normal for your tire pressure to be 30 psi at all 4 wheels and you have one tire running at 22 psi, you could be headed for trouble if you allow this condition to persist. It is even worse if you have a slow leak and just keep pumping it up rather than getting it fixed like I did.

Most all wheel drive vehicles have some means to detect the rotation of your wheels and based on that information redistribute power to the wheels that have the most traction. One tire running substantially low on pressure than the other 3 will be seen as a wheel that is constantly slipping. Yourvehicle will try to compensate for that by sending more power to the other 3 wheels. Usually a differential of some sort is involved in that process. Under low speed conditions, say 5 mph or so, there is really not much of a problem. But if you run a tire that is chronically low for 5000 miles (an oil change interval) at highway speeds, you could be headed for trouble. The lesson here is that a low tire over thousands of miles on a drive axle could eventually cause a problem.

How fast things go downhill will likely be determined by the design of your all wheel drive vehicle, the power distribution concept, whether it is an automatic or manual transmission and the difference(s) in the rolling characteristics between wheels.

In 2008 I believe TPMS systems became mandatory on all new vehicles sold in the U.S., but that was mostly safety related to prevent accidents that could be attributed to poor tire inflation. There was probably a little bit of "green thinking" involved in there, too as tire pressure relates to fuel economy and its impact on the nation's oil reserves. Some of these OEM devices are reported to

be not as flexible as after market ones.

What I like about this model is that you can set the Hi and Lo alarm limits for your application. (OEM TPMS systems might not allow you this flexibility because they don't want you changing anything.) The Orange's display will show green for

tires within the limit and turn to red and sound an alarm when the pressure goes outside the limits. You can also set the device to show pressure only, temperature only, or to toggle between temperature and pressure as well as set a temperature alarm. It is also one of the easiest aftermarket devices I've seen to reset when you rotate your tires.

I had my system installed upon buying a new set of tires at a popular warehouse chain. They installed it at no additonal charge. You will have to learn how to set it after rotating tires as some tire shops might not know how to do it, especially if you didn't get the device from them. It is also a good idea when you buy new tires or have a tire removed from a rim for flat repair, that you

let them know you have such a system installed in order to prevent damage to the sensors. In the days of rubber valve stems, tire shops would cut the valve stem or use a tool to pull it out to deflate the tire faster. Any tire shop worth its salt should be able to immediately recognize that you have a TPMS by looking at your valve stem. This may cause some tire shops to want to at least provide a new internal spring loaded portion (core) of the valve stem when servicing your tire. I would expect the fit to be fairly universal with no issues. However, they should not try to sell you new sensors. If you need one, make sure it is from Orange to ensure compatibility wth your display. I really see no need to replace sensors unless they are not working. For what it's worth, I have driven millions of miles and have never had the core of a valve stem fail, although I have recently had the rubber type valve stem fail because of long term exposure to the southwestern elements and an improper material spec when manufactured on the other side of the Pacific.

One final note is that this device should be relied upon only to detect changes (mostly deflation) in tire pressures. You will get much greater accuracy and conistency of measurement using a simple slider type tire gauge. Electronic devices have random and systematic errors that can affect their accuracy even among the same types of sensors. Be mindful of the accuracy spec on the TPMS and that you are actually using a different sensor to measure each tire. If you see a difference between your tire gauge and the TPMS, most often the tire gauge will be more accurate. Use the tire gauge to set pressures and use your TPMS to detect and warn you of changes that can affect safety and help you avoid conditions that can affect the long term service life of your vehicle's drivetrain.

If you have just regular front wheel or rear wheel drive, this device could easily save you a lot of money just by preventing things like an expensive tire from being destroyed, being stranded in the hot desert with your wife and kids or something similar. I even carry a pump now in case I develop a slow leak. If you don't have TPMS and do a lot of driving....get one....THIS one!

This product might work well on passenger car tires but not on my pickup truck. I encountered 2 problems. First, the highest pressure That can be set for the over pressure alert is 60 psi. My truck tires are inflated to 70 psi so the alarm goes off and must be manually turned off every time I start the vehicle. The second problem is that with my crew cab truck the farthest tire from the unit (right rear tire) is too far to broadcast a strong enough signal to register. I thought maybe the sensor in that tire was malfunctioning but I switched the tires around and the right rear never gets a strong enough signal to register.

I'm a Battery Tender fanatic. I honestly think I need help. Maybe it's all in the deviously subliminal master plan to someday transition to an electric car? Anyway it's winter in the Northeast and the boat is in storage (three batteries) along with the waverunners (two batteries) and the motorcycle (except for a few warm winter days), not to mention the non daily driver car that sits. So everything is on chargers since I hate hitting the start button and getting nothing, having to wait, go get a battery, install, and miss an opportunity. Anyway, these chargers never had long connector lines. I had to move the box close to the battery and not too far from the outlets... Enough!....and then I found these extensions which solved my problems. Now I'm tucking (heavy) batteries away in corners where I don't need 'em for a while, and the ones leading into the car and motorcycle aren't getting tripped over knocking Tenders onto the floor. Love them. They work perfectly as long as I lable which ones were going where. These things are great and they work perfectly.

I purchased the chargers so I could have my phone readily available. I seen these and thought wow for this price I cant go wrong.

I was way way wrong! Not only did both chargers flake out after less than 2 weeks of use, but the car charger almost caused a fire in my car! I dont know if the random weirdness my phone now has about it was cause from the charger shorting out, but I can tell you that these products are dangerous and should be avoided!

The charger got so hot that it was almost to hot to pull out of the outlet, and caused my truck to smell of burnt plastic and electronics for nearly a week!

It was on the brink of catching on fire!

Please stay away and spend a little extra money on a name brand. I did after this happened and have not had an issue since. So to me that ruled out my vehicle outlet as the culprit.

And please please dont buy this for your teenagers cause Lord only knows what would have happened if this had happened to them.

This is a great charger that is quite versitle in terms of devices that can plug into it. First I should warn you that you should check your device and make sure it is rated for the appropriate output voltage and amperage. However, after doing so I found that in addition to my Archos 5 internet tablet, I could also charge my Garmin 720 NUVI, 2 different cell phones, and 2 different bluetooth headsets with the appropriate USB cable (USB micro or mini). I highly recommend this as a replacement for any lost chargers for many USB mini/micro compatible devices.

Inexpensive, but you will need a USB cable with a connector to plug in your Archos unit. Also for some units a 2amp output would be more appropriate.

Wall charger works well, but my unit shuts off every now & then when attached to the car charger seems to overheat. Still, for the price it's good.

TIF Instruments TIF8800A Combustible Gas Detector With Visual Leak Size Indicators

TIF Instruments TIF8800A Combustible Gas Detector With Visual Leak Size Indicators
  • Used in almost any situation where combustible gasses vapor or residues need to be found
  • Applications include gas lines and pipes aids in identifying heat exchanger leaks and hazardous living and working environments
  • Unique flexible 15 inch stainless probe allows you to access hard to reach places
  • Adjustable sensitivity with an audible Geiger counter type signal
  • The TIF8800A is NOT an effective Carbon Monoxide detector, see TIF8500A

The TIF combustible gas detector is outstanding!

I'm a third generation HVAC installer and service technician. I've had one of these units for about 12 years now and it is every bit as accurate and reliable as the day I bought it.

It is capable of measuring tiny gas leaks with astounding accuracy. The probe is flexible, which is extremely handy (and pretty much a necessity).

I laughed when I saw this one on Amazon because it looks identical to the one I bought 12 years ago. I would have imagined they would have updated it. Then again, if something isn't broken why fix it?

It is durable, easy to hear and holds a charge for a very long period of time. It is adjustable and can be set for small or large gas presence.

For professional or DIY use this is the meter to buy.

The only downside is the battery pack. They are not common and cannot be bought at your local hardware store. You'll have to buy them online. They cost around $20 for the battery pack. They last about 5-6 years with constant use. They are rechargeable, but like all batteries they eventually need to be replaced.

Just received this detector from Amazon and turned the unit on outside to set the sensitivity and started testing the gas lines in my house. Five minutes later I found a natural gas leak in the basement!

Background:

We have two of the wall plug-in type CO / Gas detectors. Occasionally one will sound its alarm. The other one doesn't. Then they reverse which one alarms. They do this days, weeks, even months apart. It seemed so random, plus no smell, that it seemed to be false alarms. Still, there was that nagging feeling. That's why I ordered the TIF 8800A.

The TIF 8800A did not indicate any gas in the house in general. The sniffer tip had to be placed right next to a fitting to get an increase in the warning level, but it did go right up the scale quickly when by that fitting. I suspect the leak is very, very small and that the other two alarms really were giving false alarms. I will have the leak fixed, of course. The alarm level drops to zero even two inches from the fitting.

I highly recommend this detector for anyone with gas to their house. There really is no other way to tell for sure if you have a leak (the bubble test doesn't always work).

I bought this because I was installing my own gas water heater and I've learned long ago that having the right tools is the key to success.

I researched this model 8800A over the others and went to the manufacturer website and decide this was the exact model to get.

This paid for itself the first time I used it because I found a small leak upon completion and re-teflon taped a fitting and checked again, and all was well. When it comes to combustible gas, you want to be perfect, not close-enough.

I've also used this in the attic to check shutoff valves near the gas furnace, etc.

Recently I moved a large, multi-sectioned stainless steel propane grill from one house to the next. It was so large and so heavy we had to take it apart in pieces, which meant disconnecting lines.

What a great peace of mind to know that when we finally got it to the new house, we could check for gas leaks. We were fine, but my friend wasn't convinced. We turned the gas on briefly without lighting and tested the detector and it worked like a charm. We let the air clear and all was well. I was only then comfortable knowing that all of the fitting, fasteners, adapters, lines, everything was leak-free.

I recently saw a home improvement show on the Network channels and saw the same signature red Tif Instrument gas detector being used by a professional house inspector and I felt good knowing that I was using the same equipment a professional would choose. The only downside is that your friends want you to check their houses, too!

Update 2/28/2011:

====================

I still love the peace of mind of this device. We recently purchased a stone gas fireplace set (with grate, burner, stone logs, etc). I was able to use this to ensure that all connections were indeed leak free, etc. I also used this for a portable propane heater that sits on top of a propane tank and verify the connections were also leak free. I plan to build an outdoor built-in grill/patio and this will again come in handy.

Whistler XTR-190 Laser/Radar Detector Battery Operated with Built in Battery Charger

Whistler XTR-190 Laser/Radar Detector Battery Operated with Built in Battery Charger
  • Internal battery charger for wireless operation
  • 360ยบ total band protection including POP mode radar
  • Tone alert with quiet/auto modes and alert priority
  • Icon display with dim/dark mode
  • Includes 3 AA rechargable batteries, windshield mounting hardware and power cord

The detection capabilities of this Radar detector are very good. It has not failed me thus far and it also filters pretty well. I give it a 3 though because I bought it specifically as I was after a cordless detector.

First issue, you need to charge the batteries first time round through the car lighter charger for 12 hrs (go figure that). Otherwise you would need to invest in a 12V switch power supply to charge outside of the car.

In any case, even after charging it, the battery life is very poor which renders this whole idea of cordless worthless.

So if you are not caught up on the cord vs cordless part, get the corded model and call it quits. You'll be satisfied.

I bought two of these, one for me, one for my fiance. These detectors work well for picking up VG2, traffic sensors on the highway, and at the grocery store. BUT, I've had at least 3 times when a cop has been pointing his radar gun right at me, and this detector did NOTHING. I even got a speeding ticket when the cop was viewable 1/4 mile away. His radar gun pointed right at me, and this detector did nothing.

The only thing it's good for is picking up the static radar that the police use, to monitor the speed of oncoming traffic, while they are driving. That will also let you know if a cop is nearby. Other than that, its a big heavy worthless waste of money.

I don't care about the lame screen, it's the audio that will alert you to look at it and check your speed.

The frist couple times that the cops were standing outside their car with their radar/lydar gun and it didn't go off, I figured that they were just trying to slow traffic, But no, this thing just doesn't do what it's supposed to do.

And it's happened with both of the ones I bought. You get what you pay for. And a speeding ticket.

Whistler makes good products, but not this one. They did something different, and it cost me $182 for the ticket plus $300 for a trsffic lawyer. I could have avoided this if I wasn't trying to be cheap.(and didn't speed all the time)But why else would you buy a detector? cause your a speeder, like me.

All of the outlets in Europe sit in a circular recessed hole. This adapter is too big and does not fit in any of the recessed outlets I have tried.

They need to redesign it to be smaller so it actually fits.

This travel adapter worked pretty well while we were in Italy and France. The only complaint I have is that the plug portion is not very long. There were many outlets in Italy and France that were somewhat recessed, which meant that this adapter would not work because it got too big too close to the plug (or the plug was not long enough). If the outlet was flush with the wall, there were no issues. Luckly we had a few different adapters for these types of outlets. The size is great (small), compared to other adapters.

Rally 7637 Marine Grade 500W Power Inverter with USB Charging Port and Map Light

Rally 7637 Marine Grade 500W Power Inverter with USB Charging Port and Map Light
  • 500 watt continuous and 1000 watt peak
  • Dual 120 volt AC power outlet and USB accessory charge port with cover
  • Corrosion resistant circuit board with overload and thermal protection
  • Built in Area/ Map Light
  • LED status indicator for power and fault conditions

This is exactly the same thing you would buy if you got a Harbour Freight unit. They are manufactured at the same place. This unit is NOT marine grade, there is no epoxy coating on the board. Obviously with a fan it's not water tight either.

It's cheap plastic, no hiding that.

It can take a load and it performs well. You can water resist any inverter, just take off the plastic case and spray clear coat on the board. Then heat it to 200* for 2hrs to cure it (just run an inverter with a load for two hours).

EVERY modified sine wave inverter is most efficient when it's running HALF it's rated Nominal load. It's just the way the circuit and transistors work. This unit is 71% at half and less than 65 at full. That's GARBAGE! Cobra units are over 80% on both and Pure Sine are over 90% on both.

It's overpriced for what it is. Don't bother. I really was expecting something much better. I'm giving it three stars because the board, solder and parts used are good quality but it's a dated design that's not efficient. 10amps in gives you .5amps out (DC to AC) or in another way 120 watts consumed in DC power gives you 60 watts out. You loose half the power. It also falls really short in capacitance capabilities or in english starting an electric motor from a stop (press the trigger on a drill that's startup draw or Capacitance). The PEAK is usually where that rating comes in but a 1/2" hammer drill from Milwaukee blew out the safety shutdown every time and it's rated for 500w.

SOLAR users: Buy a more efficient model. You don't need to spring for Pure Sine unless you intend to run sensitive electronics (computernot laptop, LCD TV, cable box, anything with a radio in it, etc...).

I got this item to go camping, and when I got it out of the box to use it it wouldnt work. I tried the other adapter and it came on for a sec but went right back off and never worked again. The only thing I was tryin to power was a heating pad for my disabled husband while we was camping, so I know the watts was plenty for that. HORRIBLE PRODUCT

It claimed marine use, it is very light and has two ways to provide power. So far no complaints. I would buy another so far.

Love the multitude of ports this inverter supplied. Even has a map light! Got it at a ridiculously low price with free shipping as well so this was one of my favorite purchases. Love the 500W of power it is capable of providing. Great product marine grade products are usually made above and beyond expectations! Would recommend even at the regular price.

Not much to say... this is a simple product. So far has worked just as advertised. I'm happy with my purchase and would use this company again in the future.

I paid less than $1 plus shipping for this charger for my Philips GoGear MP3 player. I tried it and it worked fine. Put it in the wall socket connected it to the MP3 player and went to bed. A small led red light lights up on the charger while charging. Next morning MP3 player fully charged.

Now I don't have to plug my MP3 player into my laptop for the MP3 player to be charged.I take the charger to work. If the MP3 player charge getting low I just plug the charger and the MP3 player in.

At the big box stores a separate charger for a MP3 player usually cost from $10 to $20. It was great getting a charger for less than $4 ( includes shipping) with no tax. How can you beat it? Totally happy with this home wall travel AC charger. 5 stars.

A GOOD UNIT FOR A GREAT PRICE! A LISTING OF OTHER UNITS THAT COULD USE THIS ITEM WOULD BE HELPFUL.

The first thing I did, was insert it into my mp3 player. And it worked excellent. Its value for money.

Kawasaki 840046 Green 19.2-Volt 1.5 Amp Hour NiCad Slide Style Battery

Kawasaki 840046 Green 19.2-Volt 1.5 Amp Hour NiCad Slide Style Battery
  • 19.2V 1500 MAH replacement battery for Kawasaki green series
  • Slide-on style fits the following Kawasaki cordless tools: 840079, 840131, 840138, 840155, 840147 and 840090
  • Slide battery with ABS housing
  • 1 hour charge time

The problem with most cordless tools is that the batteries cost almost as much as the entire kit. My original Kawasaki battery that came with the drill lasted through about 3 dischares, and then just quit. I bought a replacement and it performed the same. Beware of all Kawasaki cordless tools if you want any service.

This item is requires a charger, but Kawasaki does not offer a charger, thus the battery is useless unless you have a charger from a previous tool. Kawasaki stopped making the slide charger, but not the slide battery.

Rapid Car Kit Auto Plug-in Power Charger for Verizon LG Octane - LG Revolution - US Cellular LG Genesis US760 - LG Versa VX9600 Cell Phone - BestCellBuy BrandI actually bought 3 of them with the idea of other family members and to have a backup in case one broke. Well, all 3 broke and failed to charge in a matter of days. The product seems to overheat and the cord/connector breaks so it doesnt work. I guess I should have wondered why so cheap(?) and now I know... I am returning all for refund.... Please save time and don't buy this product...

My wife had lost her car charger for her phone, and needed one quickly. We came onto Amazon found the perfect one, and she ordered it. It came very fast, and it has worked perfectly.

Great little charger! Doesn't take up alot of room in the car and the light on letting you know it's charging is nice. Could really use a longer cord straight cord though instead of the coiled one.

Although the charger does seem to charge my phone just fine when it's on, it falls out of the cigarette lighter socket at the slightest touch (I mean to the point that it fell out when I turned a corner, never mind actually trying to pick up the phone itself). The red light (to indicate that it is "on") is also very bright, to the point that it was distracting when driving at night. At such a cheap price, there is no point returning it, but I will definitely be looking for something else.

Junk. Ever since Schumacher closed his Chicago factory and moved production to China quality went downhill. The meter swings back and forth as the charger buzzes and rests. And shame on me for buying 2 of these turkeys. Not recommended.

Schumacker battery chargers die young and suddenly. I have owned 3 different Schumacker battery chargers and all three only lasted about 500 hours of charging. They just stop charging. I have owned a different brand charger for about 35 years and another for about 20 years. Both of these chargers still work fine. I believe that Schumacker chargers have a design flaw.
