This device is perfect for road trips. It handled my laptop and cell phone charger at the same time, and the USB port let me charge my iPod too. The plug fit just fine, and the low-power alarm is quite effective.
The only bummer is when you have a real cup of coffee and no where to put it...This worked for maybe 20 minutes, but after that, any time I so much as plugged this unit into the car's outlet, the car's fuse would immediately blow (even with nothing plugged into the inverter).
The concept is great, having a place to put the inverter that is convenient and doesn't dangle or shift around, yet also isn't a big device that has to plug right into the accessory outlet (which isn't always placed to facilitate a device like this, and also precludes being able to simultaneously use the outlet to power anything else.) And enough people have left good reviews that I assume they're not all so prone to quick failure. Nevertheless, I will not buy another PowerLine. I previously had the PowerLine 0900-36A which also failed (though I did get more than 20 minutes out of it). So I just don't consider them reliable, and I don't know how long other reviewers have had their units.
Luckily, there are numerous other cup-holder-sized inverters to choose from, just do an amazon search for "inverter cup"
UPDATE: I purchased the Black & Decker PI100CB. It only has one outlet instead of two, but at least so far, it's working perfectly. It is possible that the Powerline failed quickly because of a design flaw other reviewers have noticed... the Powerline needs air around the fan toward the bottom of the unit and that air flow will generally get blocked once the device is actually placed in a cup holder, possibly leading to overheating and failure. The Black and Decker has a clever design which solves this problem. It comes with a rubber insert that goes in your cup holder, and the device in turn goes into the rubber insert. The smart thing is that the rubber insert itself is designed to make sure air flow to the device's fan is not blocked.But the instructions say to not cover any of the vents while in use. That makes putting the inverter into your cup holder (as it was seemingly made for) a big no-no. The bottom of the cup is filled with vents and you can feel air blowing out when it's in use. So, they market this cool inverter that fits into your cup holder, but then give instructions that discourage you from putting it into your cup holder.....
When I put it into my cup holder, the light ended up turning red, meaning it was turning itself off.Used this inverter once so far. Clever design. I was hoping I might be able to leave it in the car, maybe stick a disk of paper on the top to hide the outlets, and thieves would think it was just a coffee cup, but the white cord sticking out the back near the top makes that hard to pull off. Still, I love the design. Charging my shaver and my iPod at the same time was no problem, and the fan did not come on, at least not audibly. Will have to try some higher powered devices and see what happens. I have some concern, like others have, that tucking it into a tight cup holder will not leave enough breathing room for the bottom vents, but with the fan not even turning on for my typical uses, I'm not too concerned. If it ends up being an issue, I can always stick a small piece of wine cork on the bottom to give it some additional space. The 12V plug has a two-position switch to adjust the tightness of its fit in the socket, a nice touch.
UPDATE: recently when my iPhone was nearly dead, the USB port on this device appeared to not be able to charge it. After 30 minutes of charging, I still had the iPhone displaying a red "depleted battery" graphic. The graphic normally goes away within 10 minutes of initiating charging. Subsequent tests using the Apple iPhone 3G AC adapter in the inverter's 110V outlet, then the USB iPhone cable in the AC adapter, exhibited no problems. Either the 500mA provided via USB is not enough, or the iphone is picky about its USB power source. There is some info on the web suggesting the iPhone is just picky. Google "iPhone reference voltage"Let's see..the description says 200 watt continuous 400 watt peak..Well, I bought this inverter to power my coleman inflater (170 watt)..SO I plug it in and plug into my coleman and there it goes, right? NO!! it can't handle the load..What?? isn't 170 less than 200..Why yes it is, except in powerline land...All kidding aside, if you're looking to power something close to the 200 watt range look somewhere else..if you're looking to power something less i.e. under 170 watts than this might work, but who knows..What I do know is that it WILL NOT power 170 watts so saying 200 continuous is a stretch...THANKS

We have two of these, we keep one in my wife's car and the other in mine. Our main use is to monitor traffic back-ups (delays) on the Interstate. For this purpose, it works great.For more regular use, I would recommend getting the external (magnet-base) antennae. This significantly boosts both the reception and transmission. I carry one of these antennaes in my trunk for longer trips. There are not many choices out there for hand-held CBs -Based on what's out there, this seems like a good choice.

We had to take a long roadtrip during some questionable weather. I wanted to have a CB in the minivan so I could listen to truckers, learn about traffic problems, and hear about road conditions. Also, I wanted a weather radio. This unit had the features I desired. It was quickly delivered and worked fine out-of-the-box. I used the included 12v adapter and kept it powered up during the whole trip. I used a roof mounted Cobra antenna (A1500) coupled to this radio via a BNC-to-Standard adapter. Because I didn't know what language I'd hear over the CB, I also got a earphone/microphone combination that plugs into this handheld. This setup worked great on the trip. Range wasn't wonderful probably about a mile or so. But I did not have the equipment to set the SWR of the antenna so I wasn't too surprised. (An internal SWR meter would have earned this 5 stars.) Would I get it again? Yes, the setup worked out fine for us. Truckers could hear me fine (if within range) and I could hear them. This CB Radio is identical to the model sold as the "HH Road Trip". For a dollar more, the latter model also includes a magnetic rooftop antenna with coax cable. The radios are the same, down to the model number inside the package, the manual, and the FCC type certification.I think Amazon should tell users that the HH Road Trip includes an antenna for the same cost, and is the same product. Otherwise, they should reduce the price of this package to account for the lack of a magnetic mount antenna.The Cobra HH38WXST Handheld CB Radio is an excellent radio for anyone looking for something portable and well-built. This radio claims to have a 4-mile range, but it seems to be closer to 2 miles in the woods, and 5 miles in an open city. I also purchased the extension antenna from Cobra, which extends to 27". This will increase your range dramatically. In the woods, near the lake, I can talk to truckers over 15 miles away. I can easily hear the drivers 8 miles away, and you can quietly hear the drivers approximatly 15 miles away. The only problem is that you may be able to hear that far, but you must be within 4 miles of that radio to talk to them. It is all in the reception.
If I had the option to recommend this product, I will tell everyone in the market for a Portable CB Radio. If you are planning on using it for a base unit, though, look for one with an external antenna and mountable. This radio does not pick up well in vehicles without the optional Car-Mounted Antenna, which I have not tried as of yet.

First I must say the quality is top notch. The installation is a breeze. The instructions are clear and complete. The panel is compact in size. Now for the best part... I just completed a 2 week vacation (June/July) across the western states and I was confident I would have power to spare when dry camping and this system did not let me down. On clear days the panel was providing a charge from about 7am to 6pm. The unit is rated to provide 5.45 amps but from 10am to 4pm I was easily getting 5.7 to 5.8 amps more than its rated current. Even better now... on completely overcast days it was still providing from 1 to 2 amps of current. You can't go wrong with this system. The charger looks great, is of high quality and provides all the information you'll need. The wire is of high quality as well. There are cheaper systems but they are not worth it. I purchased this product and had it shipped with the idea of installing it before an upcoming vacation. Unfortunately, I received the package and found that the accessory kit ( regulator, brackets, wire, instructions, etc. ) was missing from the box. All I got in the box was the solar panel. I sent an email to the manufacturer and was sent the missing parts in just a few days. I was very impressed with the customer service I received from the manufactured and their prompt shipment of my missing parts. Amazon wanted me to send the item back and they would ship me a new one. That didn't fit into my time frame of installing before my vacation.On the companies website there's a video for how to install a similar solar panel. I installed the Go Power 95 Solar Panel Kit based off this video. Installation was easy and mine installed much like the video. The only difference was having to buy screws for a rubber roof and Dicor sealant for the roof. I found the Dicor at a local Camping World. The kit comes with screws for a fiberglass roof but not for a rubber roof. After installation it was late in the day with heavy overcast, I was getting .6 amps. This was installed on a 26' travel trailer with dual batteries. I had no problems installing the solar panel and was able to connect the wires to my fuse box instead of running the wires all the way to the batteries. It would have been almost impossible to neatly run a wire from the panel to my batteries directly.
The next morning was sunny and I was pulling in 5.5 amps as advertised. I'm confident this solar panel will perform as expected for many years to come. My main reason for purchasing the panel is to keep the batteries charged as it sits in storage. Also to provide adequate battery charging when camping without power for a few days.
There are cheaper options on the market. I purchsed this one because I liked the clean look of the regulator and how it was made to go inside the RV. The small size of a 95 watt solar panel was also a plus. The regulator is easy to use and easy to read. I also appreciate that the cable included is UV protected and waterproof connections coming from it to the included cable.

I got my go power 95 with the solar kit and regulator/charger in less than 2 days from Amazon. Perfect condition. I followed the directions and it started working immediately, 4.7 amps in the 5pm sun. I will check back in in a month for update. So far its Great!!I'm impressed. We're at the coast as I write and it's foggy. The panel is putting out .1 amp. I think it's great considering there is NO sun. The other day we used the crok pot to prepare our dinner. It ran all day and the battery stayed charged. I might add one more panel in the future.I found out that you need to watch where you park. We had to relocate the motorhome after parking where lots of birds rested in the tree. What a mess. The panel was easy to clean by following the instructions.

As other reviewers have noted, the tester can get very hot if the spring-loaded test switch is held in the "on" position for too long but my unit only got warm during the 10-15 second test specified in the instructions. I bought this today at a local auto supply house at a cost of $60.00 plus $3.00 state sales tax. Obviously Amazons' price is much better, but I wanted it NOW to test a battery that had been drawn down to 2 volts. I had charged the battery and brought in back to a steady 12.75 which is where it should be, but I wanted to determine if it would hold a charge. The Actron took just 10 seconds to verify I should be able to trust the battery OK. And not have to buy a new one. So in the end, it saved me $52.00, as the new battery costs $115.00. expensive I know, it is a Harley Davidson motorcycle battery.The Actron CP7612 battery load tester works well and gives reliable info regarding battery performance. The only caveat is to remember the unit gets quite hot and following the instructions specifically in terms of how long to leave the unit "on" is important to avoid overheating.Does what it's supposed to do, however, it does not place a 100A load on a battery as the specs suggest -I tested around 45-50A. Great for warming up your hands on a cold day too! Just don't hold the switch for longer than 15 seconds or the element will get WHITE HOT!Newly charged batteries need a load to reduce the surface charge and give a true battery health reading. The models I own and use daily are my oldest in the fleet from xantrex (prosine 1000) Xantrex Technologies Prosine 1000 Prosine 1,000 to 1,500-Watt Power Inverter, their newer, true sine lower cost model the prowatt SW1000 Prowatt SW1000 1000W True Sinewave Inverter and the most recent low cost true sine 1000W that can't do 1000W from sunforce Sunforce 11240 1000-Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter with Remote Control. I've used these extensively in remote power operation of tools and equipment where no AC was available in service vehicles.
This model from Xantrex is atypical in that it produces "modified sine wave" power instead of "true sine wave power" like most of thier inverters. The end result to you is that some devices don't mind modified sine wave power, while others can be destroyed by it. Typically modified sine wave power is alot cheaper to produce than true sine wave power, but items with coils like florescent ballasts, transformers, even the big heavy wall transformers will overheat quickly between an hour and 3 hours. Motors run hot and prolonged use will burn them out, but in an RV say a coffee grinder is only run for a few seconds and doesn't suffer any damage from the modified sine wave. Other sensitive devices are clocks which see the sudden voltage change instead of the smooth voltage change of a sine wave as being a zero crossing, so they count the extra 2 steps in making the waveform as seconds and run 2, 3, or even 6 times faster than normal depending on the clock and inverter. Audio devices powered by 110V like clock radios, ipod adapters with speakers, stereos, all lack filtering for the odd harmonics of 60hz such as 180 hz, 300 hz, 420 hz, and on up. When run from modified sine waves these sound like alot of low frequency hum is comming out.
You can research "modified sine wave" on google to further pursue it's good points and bad points, but for this review just know it's NOT the same as what comes from your house outlet or a generator.
Also understand that any inverter of this size requires 1/2 1.5 Amps just idle. In the Xantrex pro-sine series they installed a powersave function that when not being used (i.e. all 117VAC stuff is off) the inverter checks every 2 seconds to see if anything was switched on, and if so it stays running until the load is switched off. This helps to maximize your runtime on battery and the prosine units can be ordered with the automatic cutover feature offered in this inverter. The sunforce unit has another cute trick a keyfob transmitter that turns the inverter on/off manually.
The good news about these inverters is that its an optimal switching point for an RV. It can take input power from an RV park or generator and when that is lost because the cord is pulled or the genset runs out of fuel, the inverter kicks in automatically and takes the load. This is a major plus for RV use where power may come from many sources or none at all sometimes.
When producing power from battery I recommend investing in the optima D31M blue top deep cycle battery or 2 in parallel so as to maximize runtime Optima Batteries 8052-161 D31M BlueTop Dual Purpose Battery. These can be drained without damage to the battery while a normal battery may only tolerate total discharge a dozen times in its life before fallout from plate damage collects at the bottom and shorts out 1 cell ruining the battery. I recommend 2 batteries in parallel to share the load because if you approach 1000 watts out, you will see currents in the 105-115 A continuous range from the battery. By putting 2 in parallel connected with heavy (#4) wire you can cut this to 50-60A per battery making them run longer, in fact more than twice as long due to the lower discharge rate. You can also tie into the engine's alternator to source power if it is running but use a battery isolator Warn Industries 28022 120-Amp Dual Battery Isolator to ensure your inverter doesn't leave you without the ability to start the engine by draining power from the engine battery.
In summary I chose all of my inverters to output true sinewave power just like you get at work or home. "Modified sine wave" power can be used for simple loads but read up on it with google prior to choosing it to wire into your RV. You don't want to smell your ipod adapter melting after an hour's use on the inverter or find that setting the microwave for 10 minutes gets done in just 3 because the clock runs fast on modified sine wave power. Also keep in mind 100+ amp current needs #4 wire or better depending on the distance. Preferably keep the 2 batteries and inverter all next to each other so the runs are < 3 feet of wire. If you feel that you want genuine sinewave power in your RV check out the options to the prosine series. They make this exact design in TRUE sinewave power like you get from the utility company including a power save function and with a cutover feature just like this unit has. The only difference is your power will be as good or better than what comes from your outlet at home.I purchased this inverter to be part of the replacement system for my 15 year old Trace modified sine wave inverter charger. The package comes shipped with the fold out charging panel, a micro USB to standard A USB (flat type) connector cable and includes an Instapark® MP1800U2 5,200 mAh External Battery Pack & Charger with Dual USB ports. The included cable is very short (8 inches or so). So, you'll want to get something longer to carry around with you. For charging the iPad, you will also need to get an iPad USB charging cable to carry with you as it does not come with one. I personally like the Retract Ipod USB 2.0 Sync cable in black. The Mercury 10 solar panel has a two USB ports nestled inside of a small pouch (can charge 2 devices at once, although haven't tried this) on the back side of one panel which is big enough to hold the battery and a few cables to help recharge your devices. The ReTrak cables are the perfect size for carrying around in this pouch.
Note that there are loops all around the panel so you can hang it up on a wall, from a nail or a tree branch to get the best sun placement.
There is only one downside to this panel, if you can call it a downside. The glues they used to put it all together makes it stink badly. However, if you're outdoors using it, you probably won't even smell it. It will also probably air out in time. Indoors, you will notice the smell if it's sitting near you. That said, it seems reasonably well constructed and definitely works to charge devices.
While I have also charged the 5,200 mAH battery from grid power, I haven't fully tested the battery out, but it claims to recharge the iPad 25% in 1 hour and phones up to 75% in 1 hour. I am still holding out full judgement of this device until such a time that I can test it out fully. The fact that the panel will charge the iPad leaves me nearly certain that it will charge nearly all of my devices properly. Note that the panel only has USB connectors. So, if you want to charge non-USB type devices, you will have to find a way to convert USB to that other format. Also, I don't know how fast it charges a device so I'll still have to test this. If you're looking for a solar panel to charge the iPad, though, this one will definitely do it.
Note that because the panel does what I needed it to do, I'm rating it 5 stars. However, I may change the review later after I've put the device through more usage scenarios and I am better able to determine charging speed and abilities under various conditions. I will say this, though, the panel will not charge 10 watt devices using ambient light from indoor lighting. The panel definitely needs sunlight. For times without sunlight, this is where you would use the included battery's stored energy, so be sure to charge it up.I took this thing camping, with the intention of trying it out before deploying back to Afghanistan. This little guy is a beast. With the included battery we able to play music on the iphone all weekend long without any issues. We could even throw a second iphone on there to charge when people needed it. I expected more of a trickle charge, while this thing will charge an iphone 74% in 1 hour. It won't charge like a wall outlet, but I never expected it too. I am very impressed with this item, and have already ordered a second one for my Fiance.I purchased this setup prior to going camping and seeing phish for the weekend. As with all camping your cell phone never lasts, especially the iphone. This comes in a very nice package which is about the size of a a notebook. It folds out into the 3 panels, but also has a pocket that holds the connections to the USB connections.
I was able to put this out in the sun, and hide the phones under some shade. I went from a dead iphone to 80% in 6 hours. I will say that the first 50% charged way faster and it slowed down after it was at 50%. I was also charging a Friends blackberry with the other port.
Once everything was charged, I put it in the car with the windows cracked and put the batter in for a charge. When I got back at night and my phone was near death, I was able to pull the battery and charge the iphone from the aux batter that was charging while I was away.

Regardless of weather and cloud conditions, it always gives 5.18~5.19 V, unless you cover one of the panels while fully exposing the others. Then drops to 3~4 V. Under normal conditions with the three panels getting the same amount/exposure of light it always stays at 5.19V.
The following applies to a single usb port, since I could not get a Y cable which I could use without cutting it. I arranged a USB charging cable from my Tekkeon MP1580 TEKCHARGE Mobile Power Pack and Battery Charger which has replaceable mini and micro USB tips, using the hollow tip with a jumper cable to connect the positive to my multimeter clamp test leads. I took lectures at different times, most of the I directed the panels toward the sun, and sometimes I left the panels horizontal on the ground.
There is no observable difference in behavior between USB ports. But I only tested one or the other at any given time.
The amperage you can get varies a lot. From the interior of an apartment room, just from day light from the surrounding panorama it gives 50~70mah.
On a sunny day winter day with few sparse clouds, when properly oriented produced from 1090 mah to 1138 mah, if horizontal on the ground 700 to 750 mah.
Properly oriented late on the day a couple of hours before dusk produced from 800 to 1000mah, with some thin clouds lowering to 400~500mah. Horizontal like 200~400mah.
With heavy clouds an hour before dusk late on the day produced at best 100mah, at worst 60mah.
So it can produce at worst 0.26 watts late on the day or with heavy clouds
With few or thin clouds produces from 1 to 5 watts depending on orientation, time of the day.
At best gives 5.9 Watts, which is quite impressive.
If it truly can provide 10W is something I can't currently measure. But is definitively likely.
On the device charging side, both the include Lithium-Ion battery and my Tekkeon battery pack on six to ten hours, depending on clouds, orientation, etc. So it not easy to quantify. Specially since there is no way to know it fully charged without strict checking every minute. So take this numbers with a grain of salt, since weather can vary wildly from day to day.
Aesthetics, Workmanship and general features:

Is very light, slim and easy to carry.
The solar panels are pretty much sewed/glued to the synthetic material/cloth/bag, my panels had a few light scratches on the surface when closely examined. The assembly process seems to be somewhat rough, more "home crafted" than industrially assembled. But the product is solid and sturdy.
Comes with a side pocket where the two usb ports are located, which provides a nice place to put whatever you want to charge.
The cover fabric is from a rough somewhat porous material. I'm afraid that it might attract dust and be difficult to clean, but I can't know for sure yet. I definitely would not leave it on rain.
It has some cloth rings which come from the main body of the cover, they seem to support the weight pretty well, so you can strap the panel to a wall, roof or a backpack. How strong they are under continuous use is difficult to estimate, on a backpack they definitely would wear quicker than tied over a tree. But I think they should last a while.

Bottom line: It provides good power, workmanship and aesthetics are somewhat rough but not ugly or shoddy. Is a practical and straight to the point device. Is not a fashion shiny leather/plastic/duracoat eyecandy with lot of bells and whistles.
Other thoughts: The short male usb to male microUSB cable is short and meant to connect a battery pack or device inside the back pocket of the product, there is an included adapter female microUSB to male miniUSB, this adapter is somewhat flimsy, it locks fine, but could break under stress.

Can charge my Galaxy S3 twice in 2 hours. Unlike the panel, the aesthetics and workmanship seem of industrial grade. Its has a glossy plastic cover, with rubber on the sides and base, so has a lot of traction and does not slide.
But Its features are somewhat rough/unconventional. With 10% of charge you have a orange led, from 11% to 100% you have a blue led to indicate capacity. This is while giving power to other devices, it inverts when being charged from the wall or the solar panel, 0 to 80% orange and >80% blue. When fully charged the blue led flashes.
What I can not understand is why comes with both a weak led light and a powerful high pitch siren which are activated by sliding a button. Why not a better gauging system for battery charge instead?
From what I researched on the net this model has two 18650 Li-Ion cells, from its looks it does not seem easy to disassemble and replace the internal cells. I'll leave that as an experiment for when this battery pack dies or has little charge retention in one or two years depending on the 18650 cells quality.

Overall is great combo of battery pack + solar panel. The individual products have a few light minuses in aesthetics, material or features but deliver very well on their intended purposes.

This won't show up as an but it is. My wife ordered it through Amazon for me for Christmas. The Mercury 10 solar panel was bought with a MP1800U2 powerpack as a unit. That's why I mention both the panel and powerpacks in this review.

My wife ordered the Mercury 10 with MP1800U2 pack for me. The MP1800U2 pack never worked. I plugged into a stable power source (i.e. AC) and left it to charge overnight but it would not power anything once unplugged. Whenever plugged in the charging light would flicker from orange to blue real fast. It looked like the logic was fried. I contacted Instapark for a replacement. It took a little bit of work to get the person at the other end to understand my problem but they eventually sent me a replacement. And I should say that once they understood what the problem was exactly, they did not fuss about it. What they sent was a whole new solar panel and a PPD600 power pack. They did not provide for return shipment of the old stuff but neither did they ask me to return anything. So I've got two solar panels. Great! (Note that this is taken into account in my final rating.)
The PPD600 powerpack worked fine at first but it is now completely dead. The issue is with the AC input. The AC jack fell from its hole and is now floating into the casing of the pack. It was a gradual failure, with the jack becoming progressively looser over time and the chances of a good connection getting lower over time. At first there was no problem making a connection, then the connection would happen maybe 70% of the time, then 50%, and now no connection is possible because the jack is too far in. My logs suggest that the failure began on Jan 19th, which was about two weeks after I got the replacement unit. On that day I logged an unexplained drop is performance. Sky condition and exposure were perfect. The only thing which explains that drop in performance is that the jack started failing then and that for at least part of the day there was no connection between the solar panel and the powerpack.

The Mercury 10 solar panel can output 2A. However the MP1800U2 and the PPD600 (both made by Instapark) are rated to accept only 1A for charging. (Actually, the MP1800U2 is rated for a little less than that.) So to fully charge a depleted pack it takes twice as long as it *could* take if the pack were designed to take the full output of the Mercury 10.
I will also note that neither units are designed to be user-servicable. I'm sure I could fix the jack issue myself but I'd literally have to crack the casing open to do that.
=== Conclusion ===
If I were in shopping for a solar panel + powerpack solution today, I might look at Instapark's panels but I'd stay away from their powerpacks. The score I'm giving is based *primarily* on the fact that the whole package of solar panel + powerpack is defective.
I'm going to contact Instapark to try to get a replacement PPD600. Review to be updated in light of the results I get.

My husband drives a truck for 12-16 hours per day. He never stops, so I pack his lunch every day. He carries water, energy drinks, veggies, sandwiches, sometimes pizza, etc. He used a Rubbermaid cooler for a long time, but it was too small. He needed a larger cooler that would fit between the seats of the truck and have more space.
This cooler is HUGE. They make two smaller ones, but since I like to load it up with big ice packs, it's a good size. It'll never actually be full unless we take a trip with it, though. 2 liter bottles stand up in it and I'm guessing that six of them would fit. I load it up with 2 1.5 liter water bottles, a couple of 16 oz lowcarb Monster drinks, plus a sandwich, cherry tomatoes fruit and other snacks and the cooler is still about half full even with the two large blue ice bags.
The Koolatron does the job nicely. It will not cool warm things down well and if left on its own, cold things will start to warm up after 8-10 hours, so I put 2 large blue ice bags in the cooler every morning and they come back at night still partially frozen. Any leftover drinks are still cold.
I also purchased the power inverter so that I could plug in the cooler first thing when I get up. I then load the cooler and the ice bags right before he leaves. That helps considerably.
Is the cooler keeping things at 40*? Doubtful, but it's keeping them cold enough that drinks are refreshing and his food does't spoil. He keeps the AC on in the truck all the time, so the cooler doesn't have to work too hard.
A soft sided cooler like this isn't as effective as a hardsided cooler, so there's a bit of a tradeoff, but it's the largest one I could find that would fit where it needed to go (between the seats of a Peterbilt Daycab after removing the drink holders) and it's lightweight. The shoulder strap makes it easy to carry. By the time I load it down with a couple liters of water, drinks, ice and use the bungee on top for his paperwork, it weighs about 30 pounds or so. A hard cooler would be impossible.
The outside pockets are handy, you can even put ice in the drink holder (which will only hold a cup the diameter of a soda can). There's a mesh pocket in the back that's also very handy.
Overall, we're very pleased with this cooler, but unlike the another reviewer, our expectations were more realistic.

I've used it in work to keep my lunch cold (the adapter allows you to plug it into an outlet) and it's just like putting my lunch in a refrigerator. We got this cooler due to its larger size, soft-sidedness, and cooling capability. We have two young kids and we do several family road trips, so we thought it would be a good fit for long journeys, especially keeping juice, milk, string cheese, etc. cool enough throughout the day. While technically the cooler worked, it could have been a lot better, and it really isn't worth the hassles or price for what it delivers.Having read other reviews, here's what I agree with:

However, these agreements don't cover the negatives.
While the item fits on the floor in front of the rear seat in our SUV, the fan is awfully noisy, and pushes out a bit of heat.
The durability and construction is questionable, as a few of the zipper pulls broke on its maiden voyage. We ended up using bent paper clips for the rest of the trip.

when testing prior to departure, the cooler struggled to keep the internal temperature below 66 degrees, even though items came from the fridge, and the house thermostat was set at 76.
After two days, the warm exhaust and droning noise in-vehicle were too much, so we unplugged it and used it as a soft-sided conventional cooler for the remainder of our trips. The cooling unit took up interior space, and the odd exterior pockets weren't useful, and the aforementioned zipper issue made using it less satisfactory than if we had picked up a different cooler for half the price (not even including the adapter).
Bottom line: we're hoping to get $15 at our next garage sale for it (including adapter). A bit of a waste.I got this cooler in Late Jan 2011. I took it on a cross country trip even through West Tx, NM and AZ. This cooler kept our items cool and we made sandwiches along the way. I just got back from a trip where I did not have a refrigerator in the hotel room. I took mine in with cream for coffee, cheese and beefstick for late night sandwiches. I plugged it in (with the optional powerpack) and everything was still cold. I added a room temperature soda can on day two and by the time I got home the soda can was cold. I also had cold packs in this refrigerator and they were cold enough to ease sore muscles.
I also put all my items in this cooler cold and add an ice pack.
Update,
I just got back from a trip where I was driving all day. I packed my cold items in the cooler and put a pillow of ice on top. The ice pillows I refreeze each night when I am in a hotel that has a freezer. Most days I was driving 10-12 hours. I place the cooler in the back of my SUV and plug it in. I place light colored fabric on top to reduce the solar effect. Most of the driving days were 95-100 degrees. My food arrived cold and some of it was still frozen as I brought frozen food with me to eat at night and the ice pillows were still partially frozen. I will be going to Fl in a couple weeks and will be taking my cooler with me. It is doing a great job for me.

I read the other reviews when I purchased these, and decided that I didn't need hardcore heavy duty cables for my little Protege. When my battery died, they fired up my car on the first try.Two weeks later we tried to jump a V8 jeep with these cables and it took about ten minutes of letting the cars sit together before the jeep would start. I don't know the exact physics of this (whether it was the cable or the battery), but when the jeep died again we had better luck with a more intense set of cables.
Since the jeep isn't mine, I'm quite happy with this purchase. They're cheap and they'll get my car started in emergencies.

Apparentely I didn't read the first guy's review before I purchased these cables because the same thing happened to me. simple and sweet. there really isn't any need to buy larger and more expensive cables unless you are charging car batteries for a living. These are great, I've used them about 3 times already and they're good as new.After leaving my lights on at work, I had to ask around until I found somebody who had cables in their trunk. I immediately went to amazon and picked up a set of jumper cables to keep in my trunk.These are no frills cables--the cable is decent and the clamps are smallish, but for most cars, these cables will be sufficient.

Bought a pair of these for the party to keep in touch on a camping trip. They seem to work fine.However, product features suggests the batteries supplied are Lithium Ion, in fact they are inferior Nickel Cadmium types. I would have expected at least NiMH batteries which would hold a charge longer.

I bought a number of pairs for use in our elementary Afterschool program, and the walkie talkies last 6-8 weeks, at most. The unit stops charging the batteries and/or begins to have constant static, no matter what channel it's on.If you're looking for something that's going to be used often, and that you would like to last for a while, just spend the extra $20 to get something better.

The radios work great. My boys like to fish at a pond down the street. They take one and I keep the other and we can be in constant contact if I can't be right there. I bought this inverter back at the end of October and have used it for work almost every weekday. I used it to charge my Cell phone, Bluetooth headset and/or my laptop while driving. The fan is a bit loud but not really noticeable with the radio on or while highway driving. The inverter went on me yesterday. It kept on blowing my power socket fuses in my car. The fuses on the inverter are all fine. I've already contacted Peak about this problem and I am waiting to hear back from them. Worked great for 90 days. Able to power all types of devices with plenty of plugs. Fan does turn on frequently and is annoyingly loud and high in pitch. On the 91st day of ownership (Murphy's Law) and the 1st day the manufacturer's limited warranty expired, the fan failed and my car began to smell like burning plastic. Could be mine had a defective fan, but I never pulled more than 100W. 90 day life span for a 400W inverter under minimal use conditions... This thing is big and clunky (simulates heavy duty?) with a fan that exhausts heat every 1 minute. Mine had a defective fan that vibrates the unit and creates an unusually loud hum every minute when fan turns on. The blue lighted "Peak" logo is so bright I could notice it in the backseat when I was driving in the dark. I was surprised the logo stays on even when you turn off the unit and serves no purpose except to advertise the logo. I wish it had a on/off switch. I have owned this product for approximately 2 months. I use it mainly to charge my cell phones via the USB port. About 5 minutes into my drive home the other day, I noticed smoke inside my vehicle. Realizing the smoke was not coming from the engine, I checked the inverter and sure enough , it was the source.I took it apart today for giggles and found a black wire which connects to one of the USB ports was fried. The scary part is neither of the 2 fuses popped. Aside from that, the rest looks to be intact.
Now you might be thinking possibly the unit was overloaded at some point. Negative. The biggest item charged on the unit was an IPad.

The extra battery that fits into the iBike Dash Deluxe CC works well and kept my iPhone at 100% during a more than three hour bicycle ride. It was cheaper to find it here on Amazon than to buy directly from the company due to shipping rates to Canada.I don't know if I got a dud of a battery with mine, but it only holds a charge for about 45 minutes. Not much help on a long ride.This company (iBike) has been extremely unresponsive to any of my inquirees, and if I hadn't already invested several hundred dollars in their products, I would stay away entirely.
